Skincare - Face -Chantecaille - Flower Harmonizing Cream

i really enjoy this product. however, i'm not giving it 5 stars because i feel its utility is rather limited - it doesn't have amazing SPF, and its packaging, while attractive and expensive-feeling, isn't the most hygienic. that said, i'd buy again because of the high quality botanicals, the lovely and gentle scent, and the way it goes on smoothly without leaving a greasy aftermath. i use it as an eye cream and have found it soothing and moisturizing without irritating my skin at all. maybe it's psychological, but i feel it's doing good things for that sensitive area. when i got it, the SA told me it would be OK for twice daily use as an eye cream, but that if i were planning on spending the day outside, an SPF eye cream is recommended.

Polishes -OPI - Coney Island Cotton Candy

LOVE this polish. repeating other reviews, this is a pretty, pale pink/beige that goes on with a subtle, clean look. every time i get it in a nail salon, other ladies ask what it is, and want their pedis done with it, too! i have medium toned asian skin and find that it's really natural, fresh and flattering. lasts a long time.

Hair -Frederic Fekkai - Medium Round Brush

love this brush. it's my first ever boar bristle brush, and leaves my normal type asian hair really smooth. great for styling, and has a nice feel in the hand. doesn't break hair, and works well on tangles. quite expensive, but i don't regret this purchase.

Misc Beauty Tools -Diamancel - The Tough Buffer #11

expensive, but definitely worth it. gets all of the dry and dead skin on heels and soles, and gets it fast! works much more quickly and efficiently than any other buffer i've tried. sleek, easy to clean, and stores easily. recommended.

Lip Gloss -Cargo - Santa Ana Lip Gloss

cute round metallic tin, but not the most convenient (kinda messy) or hygienic. agree with prior reviewers that this stuff just doesn't last - fades off in minutes. you do get a ton of product, though! it doesn't seem to provide any moisture, but does go on silkily. the colors - a pretty red and a deeper bronze with gold shimmer - are flattering to my medium asian skin, but i won't be running out to rebuy, since it doesn't last at all.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Shine
rated 4 of 5

got this free with a coupon at bath & bodyworks, and was really curious since i love minty lip balms. i definitely enjoy the scent - tingly! it dispenses easily from the tube and leaves a subtle shine. texture is a bit slick, but seems to moisturize well. i think it tastes a bit too sweet for my liking, but i will enjoy the tub while it lasts.

as with the matching shampoo, i love this stuff and would buy regularly if i could afford it. a wonderful splurge. gentle and fresh scent, pleasing texture, and leaves my normal type asian hair with great manageability. doesn't weigh my hair down. mmmmm...

if i could afford this regularly, i'd definitely buy again. really subtle and original fresh scent, lathers well and rinses clean. leaves my normal type asian hair shiny and smooth, without weighing it down. i love the b&B packaging, too.

Lip Gloss -Bliss Labs - Breath-Freshening Lip Balm- Mint
rated 3 of 5
nlam 3/25/2005 12:48:00 PM

hmmmmm - i really enjoy the fragrance, a very refreshing pure mint! agree with prior reviewers that it goes on more like a gloss than a balm, and leaves a subtle shine. i find it slightly sticky. does a decent job of moisturizing. breathwise, i don't think it does much more than function as a sort of lip perfume, but that's fine. a decent product but i'm still searching for the perfect balm!

Conditioner -Back to Basics - tangerine twist
rated 2 of 5

as with the matching shampoo, i enjoyed the fresh tangerine scent! quite pleasing. not so pleasing was the way my hair ended up - weighed down and lifeless. i have no complaints about the texture of this product, and the packaging is fine, but nothing special.

lovely fresh tangerine scent! lathered up richly and gave my hair a nice shine, although ended up weighing it down when used in combination with the matching conditioner. i was sad, as i was very partial to the fragrance.

Conditioner -Back to Basics - green tea daily nourishing conditioner
rated 2 of 5
nlam 3/25/2005 12:46:00 AM

bought this with matching shampoo. smells great! light texture and nonirritating formula. unfortunately, it weighed down my normal type asian hair and i ended up with very limp tresses. :( a bit too moisturizing for me!

Shampoo -Back to Basics - Green Tea
rated 3 of 5
nlam 3/25/2005 12:44:00 AM

loved the fresh scent - not sure that it really smells like green tea, but it's nice and clean. pleasing light texture, inoffensive clear green bottle and product. lathers up nicely and rinses clean. my hair (normal type, asian) ended up getting weighed down by this shampoo, much as i enjoyed using it. won't be buying again.

Conditioner -Aveda - Shampure
rated 1 of 5
nlam 3/25/2005 12:40:00 AM

bought this with the matching shampoo. not a fan of the herbal, medicinal scent and found that with addition of this product, my hair (normal type, asian) was somehow BOTH dry AND heavy. weird. sounds like these products work for many, just not me.

this product has an herbal, medicinal scent that i find rather unpleasant. it also leaves my hair (normal type, asian) rather dry and flyaway. not going to repurchase.
