Treatments -Origins - Super Spot Remover
mzsassy 7/30/2007 5:42:00 PM
I guess I'm in the minority here, because I love this product. I find that if I get a pimple, I can just put a small amount of the Spot Remover on it at night or even during the day. Within, 24 hours the blemish is gone. I even go as far as putting a thin layer over my face to keep blemishes as bay. However, I have taken away one lippie for the whole price vs. amount ratio. I feel that for this price, you should get a LOT more product. However, based on my earlier comments, I will purchase again -- at least until I can find something just as effective for a better price.

Cleansers -Origins - Mint Wash
mzsassy 7/30/2007 5:37:00 PM
This cleanser is a must have for those with truly oily skin. I found the scent to be pleasant. Just a couple of pumps of this cleanser produces a rich lather. It really cleanses the face without drying it out. I live in the humid South and this cleanser is one of the few I've had that truly gets all the grime and sweat off my face at the end of the day. Since I've been using this mint cleaser, I had people compliment my complexion. I don't even use makeup remover or toner, and my skin still feels thoroughly cleansed. I will complain about the packaging. For this price, the bottle should come with a pump. However, just schmooze the sales associate, and you might get one thrown in for free! I will definitely repurchase this cleanser.

Masks -Origins - Out of Trouble
mzsassy 6/3/2007 3:07:00 PM
Out of Trouble is a great mask for skin that is behaving poorly. Since turning 30, my normally smooth skin has been experiencing some pimples due to hormone fluctuations :( However, this mask really helps the breakouts. I simple cleanse my skin as usual and apply the mask. After 10-15 minutes, I rinse the mask off. The next morning, my skin is smoother and softer. More importantly, my existing pimples seem to have dried up. I experience a little burning when first applying the mask, but I usually experience this sensation when applying clay-based masks. The mask also contains camphor, so if you are sensitive to camphor, beware. The smell is not the greatest due to the sulfur content, but after a little research, I discovered that sulfur is actually good for the skin. The camphor and sulfur ordors create an "interesting" aroma, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. In addition, the surface oil on my oily face is noticeably less. Bottom line: The mask is working to help calm my misbehaving skin.

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
mzsassy 7/9/2006 5:56:00 PM
I've always been leary of this product after reading all the reviews here. I was diagnosed with having Type 3/4 skin, so I got the Oily Skin liquid soap, Type 3 toner, and Dramatically Different Gel (DDG). Well, the soap works, but I can see why some people find it drying. I have extremely oily skin, so I'm not too worried about a product being drying. The toner's tingle is reminiscent of a burn, so I can definitely see why some people were put off by it. The DDG does its job but its so hot and humid here I only use it at night on my dry spots. When I was using it all over twice a day, I developed a cystic zit on my forehead (my first). My skin has gone through some purging from this product, but it seems to be waning. My skin seems to be less oily in this 100% humidity, and that's what I was aiming for. I'll come back to update when I have a more definitive opinion of this product. For now, I think it's a very good product for oily skin types (I've never really had any breakouts -- just the TOM kind). However, like anything, you need to "play" with how you use them to find what works for you. It's okay to deviate from what the sales associate says you have to do. *EDIT* I'm editing this review -- after two months of using this product, it has began to "fry" my face and the moisturizer caused a cystic pimple on my forhead. Use this product with caution. It still has its purpose but you need to decide how much mileage you wish to get from this product.

Fragrances -Origins - Ginger with a Twist - sparkling body cocktail
mzsassy 6/28/2006 7:50:00 AM
I loved the fragrance overall, but I found the staying power to be a little weak. The good thing is that the scent is so light, reapplication is not really a problem. It never becomes cloying or overpowering.

Skincare - Face -Good Skin - All Right Mattifying Gel
mzsassy 3/14/2006 11:01:00 AM
It's not a bad product. It's just not that great. When compared to Bath & Body Work's burdock root (now discontinued), this gel just doesn't measure up. I use it when I don't want to wear any makeup up and want to look dewy. My skin stays non-greasy for about 2-3 hours with this on. When I'm wearing makeup, I'm more prone to just touch up using my MAC blot powder. There are better products out there for the price. For this reason, I will probably not purchase this again.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer - Peachtwist
mzsassy 2/24/2006 9:18:00 AM
I love the way this blush looks on my NC45 skin. It provides gentle color that I can easily layer for more intensity. The shimmer is very slight, making it easy to wear during the day. I now have a gentle glow on my face. Every time I've worn it, someone has commented that I looked "pretty" that day. That's a great compliment. It beats, "Nice blush" anyday. :)

Cleansers -C.O. Bigelow - Oily Skin Foaming Facial Wash
mzsassy 1/24/2006 6:04:00 PM
If you have TRULY oily skin, this is a good cleanser for you. I loved the foam. I also enjoyed the light citrus scent. I got a clean feeling without my face feeling "tight" afterwards. Kudos.

Cleansers -C.O. Bigelow - Gentle Oil Absorbing Clay Cleanser
mzsassy 1/24/2006 6:02:00 PM
For this to make the claim that it's gentle, it sure did burn alot. For a second there, I thought I was using one of those Biore self heating face masks! This stuff also stings around the eyes, nose, and mouth. I will not be using it again. Thank goodness I only bought the trial size at the Semi-annual Sale.

Hair -Nioxin - Nioxin Recharging Complex Vitamin Supplement
mzsassy 12/7/2005 10:04:00 AM
I think this product has improved my hair's overall state. It seems to be stronger and there seems to be more of it. I take 1 pill/day. Also, unlike other hair vitamins I have taken, I haven't noticed an abnormal growth of hair in other areas, like my upper lip.

Fragrances -Coty - Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker
mzsassy 12/5/2005 3:42:00 PM
After trying the little sampler on the gray ribbon in the department store, my first reaction was "This smells nasty." However, once I sprayed the scent on my body and let it react to my natural oils, it dried down into a light, feminine scent that was -- lovely...pun intended. The pepper and musk notes dry down to an almost imperceptible level. What's left is a top white floral note that doesn't overpower. This is one of those scents that "belong" to the person. No one will ask, "What are you wearing?" They will just say, "You smell good."

Styling Products -Sebastian - Potion 9
mzsassy 12/5/2005 3:27:00 PM
I must admit I was very skeptical of this product when I first tried it. The consistency and the smell is rather medicinal. However, I did notice a difference in my hair after blow drying and after drying with a hood dryer. My hair was much smoother from root to end. When I use this product, I use a small amount and concentrate it on my ends.

Styling Products -Joico - Silk Result Straight Smoother
mzsassy 12/5/2005 3:22:00 PM
I love this product. It helps straighten my hair when I blow dry it. Instead of wiry, dull, dry hair, I end up with silky hair with a nice sheen to it. This is one of the best blow dry cremes I have ever tried. I reccommend the entire line -- especially the flat iron spray.

Fragrances -Fresh - Sake

This perfume smelled okay at first. Then, it dried down, and smelled like Febreeze fabric refresher. Yuck! That's all I have to say about Sake.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl
mzsassy 9/21/2005 11:09:00 AM
This shadow is the PERFECT taupe. I love the velvet texture of the application. The pigmentation is strong, so it doesn't totally disappear into the skin. This is one neutral I can wear and still have my eyes "pop". As you can tell, I'm really impressed with this eyeshadow.
