I've used cheaper curlers before, but you curl them and they straighten out in a few hours. The great thing about the Uemura curler is that first of all the angle is more suitable for the shape of my eyes (Asian) and once you curl your lashes, they stay curled all day! It also just take a few light squeezes to get curls, instead of having to hold your eyes open for 15 secs. I think it's the silicone pads that makes the difference, since they're more springy and doesn't harden over time like the conventional rubber types. I think this lash curler will last me a while, so I'll just have to get replacement pads.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Waterproof

Very average product. The only good thing about it is that the brush is relatively small, so I can get more lashes. It smudges on the bottom of my lids after a day. Since I have small lashes, I could use some extra length, which this doesn't do. It's a simple product, but why would I buy this again if for $2 more I can get vavoom lashes (Maybelline XXL)?

Conditioner -Nexxus - keraphix

Determined not to ruin my hair this time I grew it out, I bought this product after reading the great reviews. I love it! It really makes my hair shiny, manageable and great in NYC dry winters. I use it once or twice a week (otherwise it's too rich) and it renews my hair every time I use it. Pantene, Dove just can't compare. I definitely will keep repurchasing. One small complaint is that the product is very thick and i have to shake the bottle pretty hard when it's half empty.

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

This is definitely the best pressed powder foundation I ever used. I brush it on with a big kabuki brush for light coverage (too much can look cakey). The finish is matte and stays matte and perfect all day. I love how natural it always looks on me. My Mac blush goes on it very smoothly. My first one was CN35 but it seems too dark for my medium shade Asian skin. CN25 seems better for me.

Toners -Kose - Medicated Sekkisei

Pros: This product works pretty well for me. I think it does make my skin brighter, without irritating my skin at all. I use it morning and night and my face looks more translucent over about 2 months. It doesn't have much fragrance and is very light. It's the only brightening product that seems to work. Cons: Too expensive

This toner smells really nice. It does a great job at keeping moisture in my skin all day. Feel very clean and never irritated my skin in any way. Great mild, everyday toner.

Treatments (Eye) -Kiehls - Eye Alert

Nothing really special about this product. Good for summer I guess, or if you just need a moisturizer for your eye area. It's light, not greasy. It seems to reduce dark circles and puffiness only a little bit, not especially effective.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)

I bought a big bottle of this after reading the reviews. At first I didn't like the gingery smell of it. But over the course of half a 16oz bottle, I realized it's a really gentle cleanser that does an okay job taking off my makeup (not the super waterproof mascara though). It's never irritated my skin and does not contain artificial fragrances, which is very good. It's a simple product containing many natural ingredients and will be a staple for me. I'm sticking with what works, even though I'm not a big fan of the smell.
