Powder -Lancome - Oscillation Powerfoundation
moshoy 1/23/2010 9:29:00 PM
Warning to all of you who are acne-prone and sensitive like me..... STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS OVERPRICED JUNK!! My goodness this stuff is horrible! I paid almost 60 bucks for this makeup and ended up with cysts on my forehead, cheeks, and jawline after only four days! And my skin was clear before I started using this!! I so wish I could rate this with a zero! I cannot believe how much this horrible makeup costs.... if you want the exact same makeup, with the same effect--- cysts--- just buy L'oreal Bare Naturale Mineral Makeup. At least you'll only spend 10 bucks vs 55! One more thing..... the whole "oscillating" part is a bunch of bologna! (Why does anyone need to apply their makeup with a vibrating applicator anyway?!). I asked the sales associate how to clean the "oscillating" sponge applicator and she told me you can't. Well, that's pretty hygienic! She said that you shouldn't need to clean it at all, but after a couple of MONTHS (yes, months!) you could buy a new oscillating sponge applicator......I could not wait to get my money back on this awful awful makeup....

Although I did love the smell, this body wash has given me cystic acne on my back and chest. (I haven't had that problem in years!) Definitely will not purchase again....

I went through an entire jar of this product, which I used daily for months, and I can honestly say that it made absolutely NO difference whatsoever! What a complete waste of money!!

Concealers -Neutrogena - Mineral Sheers Concealer
moshoy 5/5/2009 11:51:00 PM
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who likes this product! I purchased it a few weeks ago at Walgreens because I had a coupon. I had been using the regular Neutrogena concealing stick for under my eyes, but I hated that one because it was so dry and it tugged at my skin. But I have to say that I love this mineral sheers concealer! It is creamy, but that's what I need, especially under my eyes. ( I already have crow's feet, so I don't need to be pulling and tugging my skin under and around my eyes with a dry concealer). I also love the titanium dioxide sun protection in this concealer! I love the color. The lightest color is perfect on me. Even on mornings when I didn't get much sleep the night before, you would never know once I put this concealer on! Will definitely purchase again!

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Cool Moisture Refreshing Body Wash Cucumber Green Tea
moshoy 5/5/2009 11:42:00 PM
Would I buy this product again? NO WAY! I should start by saying that I have extremely fair, sensitive, (acne-prone) skin.... After using this wash for less than a week, I ended up at the doctor's office because I broke out in a rash. It was so bad that I had to get a cortisone shot and take cortisone medication for a week!! I would not recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin..........

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Foaming Facial Cleanser - Sensitive Skin
moshoy 5/5/2009 11:33:00 PM
I want to thank all of you ladies on makeup alley for writing product reviews. You have helped me save so much money! I decided to try this cleanser based on the good reviews and I'm so glad that I did. I love it! I had been using Neutrogena Fragrance-Free cleanser, but I was breaking out almost everyday. So, when I switched to the Clean and Clear Sensitive Skin, I was pleasantly surprised! It takes off all of my makeup and does not irritate my super sensitive, acne-prone skin at all! I love it. I will continue to buyit.

Powder -Cover Girl - TruBlend Minerals Pressed Mineral Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
moshoy 5/3/2009 2:24:00 AM
I have been using this for about four months now, and I decided to finally write a review... Here goes... I like it!! I have extremely sensitive, acne-prone skin, but this does not seem to irritate it or clog my pores. I LOVE that they have colors for us pale girls, and the lightest color is a perfect match for me! The reason I gave it four lippies though, is that I agree with the other reviews about there being "half product, half compact." It's a little ridiculous. I usually buy two at a time because there's so little product. (And I throw away the brush that's included and use disposable sponges. I have to because as I mentioned before... VERY sensitive skin!). EDIT: 6-2-09: OK, I have to take some lippies off unfortunately, because this makeup has zero staying power. I saw some pictures of myself after wearing it for 8 hours or more, and it literally looks like I'm not wearing makeup... I've never seen anything like it... it just magically disappears!!! Ugggghhhh!

Shampoo -Aussie - Moist Shampoo
moshoy 5/3/2009 2:17:00 AM
I have been using this shampoo for months now and I just cannot continue. It smells great and lathers well, but it dries my scalp out TERRIBLY!! I can't stop itching. And it has gradually gotten worse. Now I'm going to have to buy a dry scalp shampoo because of the damage this has done. It's just way too drying!!

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Scruples - Renewal Hair Therapy Polish
moshoy 2/16/2009 1:44:00 AM
I am writing this review for the Scruples Renewal Conditioner... This stuff is overpriced junk!!!! Within one day of using this (in combination with the Renewal shampoo) my scalp was itching like CRAZY!! Every time I used this conditioner I noticed that it actually dried out my hair. I could not get a comb through it and I was losing hair all day long. And the itching! Oh the itching! This company seriously needs to discontinue this product. It's horrible!

Liquid -Maybelline - Pure Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
moshoy 7/14/2008 12:23:00 AM
I purchased this product after having a bad reaction to the Revlon Colorstay Makeup (see review). I bought this in Porcelain Ivory. I am totally serious when I say that Day 1 of wearing this foundation, my skin was calming down. It was amazing. But the thing I like best about this product (other than the fact that it doesn't break me out, and has actually helped clear my skin!) is that it doesn't feel heavy at all. I've had to put a few layers on for the past couple of days to cover the damage that the awful Revlon CS did to my face. I LOVE that this feels so light! As far as blending, I do agree that you must blend it in quickly because it seems to dry fast. I will add that the colors seem to be lighter than they appear in the tube. I thought that the Porcelain Ivory would be too dark but it's not at all. This is not a full coverage makeup by any means, but I hate the look and feeling of heavy makeup. The first day I wore this I learned that it wasn't going to completely cover the scars and zits with an opaque coverage, but I'm ok with that given that it's now three days later and my skin is much clearer! The fact is, the clearer your skin, the less makeup you need anyway. And at 6 bucks, I believe I'll stock up on it!! ****EDIT****: OK, unfortunately, after over a week of wearing this, my skin is so oily within an hour or two, that it's literally greasy! Yesterday at school, I went through so many oil-blotting papers and finally resorted to using Kleenex once I got home to take the oil off of my face. I am soooo disappointed because everything else about this makeup is awesome! However, despite the oiliness, I will continue to wear it because it's the best makeup I've found so far for my very acne-prone skin!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 15 Normal/Dry Skin
moshoy 7/13/2008 11:57:00 PM
I wish I could rate this product with a zero!!!! This product is absolutely the worst foundation you could put on acne-prone skin. I used it for about two weeks last month and I noticed that I was breaking out everyday, even from the first day I wore it. And I don't mean pimples... I'm talking about zits forming by the hour and huge cysts! And the more zits, the more foundation I had to use to try to cover them, which led to even more zits, and well, you get the point. Even my mom said she noticed I was "having a hard time" with my skin. I figured maybe it was just the Olay scrub I had been using. (See review). Well, I stopped both the scrub and the foundation and my skin cleared up within a week. Well, for some dumb reason, I thought I'd give this foundation another whirl. I knew for sure that the Olay scrub I'd used before was tearing up my skin, and so I thought that maybe the problem was just the scrub.... WRONG!!!! I purchased this foundation once again last week and ONCE AGAIN within literally three days of using this product I had zit, zit, zit, zit, cyst, cyst.. That's how many lovely zits (and cysts) it gave me. UGGHHHHH! Shame on you Revlon!!!! I bought Maybelline Pure Makeup, and yes, thank goodness, my skin is thanking me. From day one of using the Maybelline, my skin was calming down. Now I don't cry when I look in the mirror after I take my makeup off. Thank you makeup alley!

Foundations -Almay - TLC Truly Lasting Color
moshoy 7/7/2008 12:58:00 AM
NO,NO,NO! Not only did this stuff dry out my skin in only 1 day! But the lightest color is pinkish/orange! The worst thing about this makeup is that it broke me out in 3 small cysts after 1 day!! Never again. This stuff is junk.

Cleansers -Olay - Clarity Daily Scrub
moshoy 6/28/2008 12:53:00 AM
This review is for the Cleanse & Clarify Scrub. I can pretty much sum up this review in two words.... CYSTIC ACNE!!! I purchased this a couple of weeks ago, and the first few days, I liked the "clean" feeling I had after using it. However, with each day, I noticed more and more zits. I figured maybe it was a "purging" thing or something. WRONG! I have cystic acne everyday now, and I've finally realized it's the scrub. I don't even want to put on makeup anymore because I think to myself, "What's the point?". I have huge zits thanks to this awful product and I don't even look like myself anymore. Now, I get to spend weeks trying to repair the damage this junk has done to my face!!!!!

Cleansers -Olay - Pore Refining Mousse Cleanser
moshoy 3/22/2008 1:41:00 PM
Love this product!! Thanks to the rave reviews on here, I decided to try it. I bought two because they seemed to be running out of it at the nearby drugstore. (What can I say... I took a chance!). Just for reference, I have very fair, sensitive, acne-prone skin. This product is awesome. It has actually helped clear up those pesky hormonal breakouts! Would absolutely purchase again! Thanks ladies. EDIT: Took a couple of lippies off because it's not been so great lately at keeping my skin clear!

Powder -Mary Kay - Mineral Powder Foundation
moshoy 3/22/2008 1:32:00 PM
My sister, who sells Mary Kay, gave me this product to try. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it didn't break me out. However, I don't like having an orange face! Why oh why is it so difficult to find makeup colors for fair skin!!! Ivory is way too dark in this mineral foundation! I absolutely cringe when I try new makeup and it turns orange on my face! Would not ever use this again...... UPDATE:2/14/11: This stuff is still garbage!! I purchased this about 3 weeks ago and have used it everyday since and now I am getting cystic pimples every SINGLE day! Not to mention the fact that it covers NOTHING! Seriously?! A "mineral powder foundation" (yeah right...loads of "minerals" in this one ha ha) that only emphasizes redness and acne?! Complete waste of money! NEVER AGAIN MK!!!!!!!
