Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Single in Brulee

This is a great matte shade for highlighting around the eye. I love the price, tiny packaging, and the smooth formula. I just think it needs to be a touch more pigmented and I still think Bare Essentials Soul is better.

Powder -Cover FX - Cover Fx - Powder Fx
rated 2 of 5
mochaholic 6/27/2012 3:20:00 PM

I kinda hate this stuff. I really wanted to try Cover Fx after hearing great reviews and I thought the powder formula would work well w/ my acne-prone oily ass skin. I tried using this w/ and w/o primer and w/ and w/o setting powder and can't get this work for me. My skin still gets super greasy and when this mixes w/ grease it looks soooo awful, like plasticky, cakey, and slimey at the same. It looks ok after I blot, but I can't be constantly checking and blotting. It's not cheap, so I am still trying to use it once in a while. One good thing is that I have not noticed it aggrevating my acne, but this is definitely NOT meant for oily skin.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Argan oil
rated 2 of 5
mochaholic 6/27/2012 2:00:00 PM

I had some luck w/ Dremu Oil, so I wanted to try other oils that could be a cheaper alternative. I mixed a few drops of 100% argan oil with facial mist to use as a moisturizer for a week, and was not pleased w/ the results. My skin was finally clearing up from a very bad couple months of cystic acne, and after using this for a week my skin started to break out again. At first, I just noticed some clogged pores, then one or two pimples, then all of the sudden I get a handful along my chin/jaw in a day. AH! At the same time, it was not moisturizing my dry spots enough, so I still had patches of flaky skin here and there. Maybe it is the brand I got, but it had good reviews on Amazon. It is also around that time of the month, so maybe argan oil is not completely to blame, but I am scared to try it again since I also had a bad experience w/ 100% jojoba oil.

Moisturizers -Dremu - Dremu Oil
rated 4 of 5
mochaholic 6/21/2012 4:56:00 PM

I recieved a sample of this along w/ some product information from Dermstore and it sounded like a miracle product and was very excited to try it. I have extremely oily acne-prone skin and at the time, I was recovering from a major cystic acne breakout (endless painful pimples along my jaw). Since it was a very very tiny bottle I decided to bring it as my primary moisturizer for a wkend trip instead of a huge SK-II bottle (risky way to try new products). I didn't want to put a lot of this on my face so I mixed abt 2-3 drops of Dremu oil w/ one spray of Reviva Rosewater Facial Spray in my palms and applied it all over my face and neck. After the wkend was over, I noticed I didn't get any new pimples and my skin seemed noticably clearer/smoother. I have since used this in the same manner for a few other wkend trips and one week long trip, and have not experienced any major breakouts. My skin has actually cleared up significantly, but I don't know how much of it is attributable to this product since I also incorporated a few other new products to my skincare regimine. Overall, I definitely like this as a moisturizer (and possible acne treatment) and would like to purchase it, but due to the price I need to try argan oil and other less expensive brands of emu oil before I can commit to it. However, since I only need to use maybe 3 drops a day, a full bottle would last a very long time.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream (Night)
rated 3 of 5
mochaholic 5/4/2012 1:05:00 PM

I have the regular not the intensive version. I believe this caused my cystic acne to flare up. A few wks after I started using this, I began to get really bad pimples around my jawline/chin, which later spread to my cheeks and neck. I don't wear makeup regularly, so I thought I was breaking out due to makeup I had used and continued to use the cream. One night I decided to be lazy and skip the cream, and for a day or 2 my skin seemed to clear up a bit, but I didn't realize the connection then and continued to use the cream for another week before I realized this may be the culprit. I've stopped using this cream for about 2 wks now and my skin is clearing up, but I have incorporated a new products into my regimen to spead up the recovery. I still gave this product a rating of 3, because I think this actually helps keep my back and chest clear. I get occassional acne on my back and chest, so I use my face cream to moisturize those areas. UPDATE 9/19/2012: I have re-purchased this for chest/back, so I don't have to use more expensive face creams for those areas.

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
rated 2 of 5
mochaholic 1/16/2012 1:46:00 PM

I used this on my lips for a short period and noticed I was getting clogged pores on the skin around my mouth. Once I stopped using it my skin started to clear up. I am also not a fan of the smell, so I definitely cannot use this on my lips. I don't find this to be exeptionally moisturizing either and much prefer Aquaphor and Jack Black. To prevent waste, I've recently been mixing this w/ regular lotion to moisturize my hands and it is working pretty well, but I won't continue to use it once I finish this jar.

Lips -Jordana - Easyshine Glossy Lip Color
rated 4 of 5
mochaholic 12/15/2011 9:38:00 PM

I LOVE THIS! I've worn this in Watermelon Juice a few times and it is freakin' awesome. It's not as moisturizing as a good lip balm, but it does not dry out my lips at all! It is pretty pigmented, but still looks natural if applied lightly, or go full on bright pink with a thick coat. This is currently my go to lip color to just brighten up my lips/face. There is no taste (YAY!) and a bearable sweet fruity smell. I also have this in Sugar Plum, which is a deep red, but I have not had the courage to wear it out. Based on what I have seen, Watermelon Juice, Sugar Plum, and Sweet Strawberry are the colors w/o shimmer. My only complaints is that I prefer no smell/taste (unless it is mint/menthol) and that the product does not retract all the way until you have used up quite a bit, so I keep hitting the sides of the cap w/ the product. UPDATE: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lipstain is my new favorite, but Jordana Easyshine is still slightly more moisturizing and comfortable to wear.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - 8-pan Palette "Comfort Zone"
rated 5 of 5
mochaholic 10/26/2011 5:02:00 PM

I held out on purchasing this for a while b/c I was really disappointed by the Lust and Greed palettes and I rarely use greenish e/s. Then a month or so ago I saw a youtube video w/ this and all of the sudden I really wanted it and was super duper excited to get it on sale from CVS. I still think these are not as good and longlasting as say UD and stuff, but some of the shadows in this palette are definitely the best d/s ones I've ever tried (so soft and pigmented). I definitely saw some creasing/fading even w/ primer after a long day (don't recall at what point it started to crease/fade), but I have abnormally greasy lids and it wasn't horrendous. Definitely a fun and useful palette to have for the price.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Face and Eye Travel Tool Kit
rated 4 of 5
mochaholic 10/26/2011 4:46:00 PM

I got this set for my sister years ago and everytime I see it I am tempted to take it from her. I finally got one for myself last year during FF sale, and I really love it. I rarely do my makeup at home, so after I got this set I've been neglecting all my full size brushes. Even when I am at home, I feel tempted to just use this set instead of the full size ones. All I need is this set and a retractable kabuki and I can do my whole face. The brushes are soft, portable, and really get the job done. My only complaint is that they are not very dense and a bit overpriced, but it is just so darn convenient!

Hair Styling Tools -Goody - Spin Pin
rated 5 of 5
mochaholic 6/24/2011 7:42:00 PM

I love this so much, I bought a set for my sister and a second set for myself. I have very very flat straight hair and I always have trouble keeping it up w/ bobby pins, but never again now that I have these magical pins. I also have the up-do pin, but my hair has trouble staying up with that so I use the spin pins with it for an all day/night simple up-do.

Blush -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc Free Blush Pink Glow
rated 5 of 5
mochaholic 2/4/2011 1:27:00 PM

I wanted a very skin-friendly blush for days when I know I'll be wearing makeup for a very long time, so I got this at CVS for 75% off (regular price is a bit high for drug a store product), and I LOVE it! I love the color, the feel, and that it's great for sensitive skin. I want to reach for this all the time.

Lipstick -Neutrogena - MoistureShine Lipstick - Angel's Blush
rated 4 of 5
mochaholic 1/5/2011 1:32:00 PM

I only got this b/c it was 50% off at CVS and it was recommeneded on a blog. I am a sucker for light pink lip products, so I automatically chose this color w/o thinking. In the store it didn't look frosty or shimmery at all, but when I first put it on my lips, I was shocked by the frostiness (and I am not a fan of frosty l/s). I wore it all day yesterday, and it has really grown on me. It is not drying at all and wears very comfortably, almost like a lipbalm. That says a lot b/c almost all lipsticks (even ones that claim to be moisturizing) dry out my lips. I have very pigmented lips and a light coat of this adds just enough pink to work w/ my lip color and the frost comes off more like a glossy sheen; very natural looking. I suppose this is very very fine frost and it allows the color to last longer on the lips and wears off pretty evenly. I don't really reapply unless I eat, but I do remoisten my lips every so often w/ a dab of lipbalm. Has a slight sweet smell, but it fades almost immediately. Took away one star, b/c I'm not a fan of the clear packaging and would still prefer no frost.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Stylish Smokes in Natural Smokes
rated 5 of 5
mochaholic 12/28/2010 3:55:00 PM

I love this quad! The colors are gorgeous, and you can really go from day-time-natural to night-time-smokey with this. I still prefer UD e/s, but this is great for travel and when you just need something quick. I find there is some glittery fall-out from the lid and crease colors, and the matte colors are not as creamy and pigmented as I would like, but for the price it is fine. It is fairly long wearing for a d/s e/s, but I always use a primer and I do get some creasing after a couple hours. I'd recommend this and the Chai Latte quad to make-up beginners.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Beauty Tubes
rated 4 of 5
mochaholic 11/16/2010 12:02:00 PM

This is one of my favorite drug store mascaras, but it might be b/c I prefer tubing mascaras. The regular mascaras I've tried have all smudged on me, even the impossible to remove waterproof ones, but not this. This will probably be my go-to waterproof d/s mascara. One thing I can't put under like/dislike is that sometimes this applies so smoothly and sometimes it can be a lil clumpy, so not sure what I'm doing right/wrong. Likes: smudgeproof, water-resistant, easy to remove, lengthening Dislikes: 2 steps (I'm lazy), can look grey if you don't cover up all the white, no volume (but it doesn't claim to add volume, so it's forgivable), a lil expensive for d/s, doesn't hold curl very well

Lip Treatments -Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm spf 25
rated 5 of 5
mochaholic 10/25/2010 7:51:00 PM

I think this has HG potential. I have suffered from HORRIBLE dry peely lips pretty much all my life. The original version is my favorite lipbalm out of all the ones I have tried. My lips don't become amazingly smooth and supple w/ this, but it definitely helps a lot. I also love the minty feel/scent, the SPF, and the packaging. It's a lil pricier than your average drugstore lipbalm, but not by much and is much cheaper than many other h/e lip products...definitely worth it in my book. I think Aquaphor is a bit more moisturizing, but this has SPF for the daytime.
