Lip Gloss -mark - Glossblossom Ripening Lip Tint
mkgirl9 7/17/2009 10:44:00 AM
Well, I really wanted to try this because a clear lip gloss that ripens on your lips and its supposed to look different on everyone. I wanted to get the smashbox o-gloss but it was $25 or so. This was $6! Now, it does what its supposed to do. It goes on a like a clear gloss and turns pink, giving your lips that "i just sucked on a lollipop color." I was pleasantly surprised! I also got the shimmer one instead of the regular glossblossom. What I liked was the sweet scent and its not sticky but its a bit drying for my lips. Would I repurchase? I'm not sure since its drying and it doesn't last too long. You have to reapply but it does leave a nice tint to your lips.

Eyeliner -mark - Metalliner
mkgirl9 7/17/2009 10:36:00 AM
I got this in bronze edge and blue chrome. I love love the blue chrome. I've been always a black eyeliner only girl but I had to try these colors and I used to wear liquid eyeliner when I was younger. You won't be disappointed with the blue chrome. A stunning blue metallic color that really brings your eyes out. I have dark brown eyes and this really made my eyes pop! I used it on my lower lash line. The bronze edge is a brown metallic color, although I would have liked it to be a bit more deeper, its still a really nice color. The applicator is thin, so thin that you can't really mess it up. Use a steady hand and lightly line your eyes as close to the lash line as possible. If you want the line to be thicker, i would go over the line again. Stays on all day! I will definitely repurchase and for $5, its a steal!!

Blush -mark - Good Glowing Powder Blush -After Glow
mkgirl9 7/17/2009 10:14:00 AM
I recently discovered Mark products by a friend and am I glad that I did! This blush closely resembles Nars Orgasm, both have that light pink glow with a good amount of golden specks running through them. It gives a natural just got out of the gym glow on my medium skin. The color is a peachy pink and it gives a pop of color. I used a big fluffy blush brush and stroked it in a upward motion on the apples of my cheeks to my cheekbones. I was surprised on how well it looked! Definitely a steal compared at $6 with Nars at $25. Now all the blushes, eyeshadow comes with just the square of color. You have to buy the palate separately which includes a mirror and a magnetic base to snap on your favorite colors, etc. I took off one lippie for that. Why couldn't it come with decent packaging? Pretty cool but I didn't buy the palate so I've been just using the plastic casing it came in until I buy it. I will definitely repurchase when I'm out!

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Line Intensifique in Black Mica
mkgirl9 7/13/2009 11:20:00 AM
I've been using this since freshman year in college. It works great! Apply a little pressure for a thin line and a bit more for a thicker line across the lid. You have to get used to being a little steady to apply this (as with any liquid liner) but this one really is too easy! It lasts for a long time and it doesn't budge! I would definitely be repurchasing when I run out.

Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover
mkgirl9 5/21/2009 3:12:00 PM
Very gentle on the eyes, I had no problems with sensitively. No stinging, burning. It did leave a little residue but you are supposed to rinse that off. What I did was shake the bottle vigorously for the formula to be mixed, then got a cotton ball and swiped it on my eyes for about 10 seconds. I looked at my once white cotton ball and it was smeared with my mascara/eyeshadow. Not too bad!!! I had to apply it twice though to get rid of my mascara. With the first swipe, it got rid of all my eyeshadow and some of my mascara. Used it again to swipe off the rest. Pretty decent, not fantastic eye makeup remover, still in the search for a better one. Will I buy again? Yes, its a little steep considering its 17.50 for a makeup remover, but it does what it claims.

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Orgasm
mkgirl9 5/20/2009 5:06:00 PM
I bought this on a whim since I love the regular blush so much. Big mistake! It was too sparkly and made my cheeks scream "teenager!" It didn't settle well on my face and made my cheeks not drier than usual. Returned it the next day. Next time stick with the regular blush and save your money ladies!

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna
mkgirl9 4/16/2009 12:02:00 PM
I didn't realize how pale I looked until I saw some pictures of myself recently! I've never really used bronzer before and decided to give this one a try. Absolutely love it! Its a matte brown color with a hint of gold shimmer. And when I mean "hint" very little. You can barely see the shimmer once on. Love the velvety black case that comes in too! There's a mirror inside and a very thin square piece of pad to use for application. Do not use this pad! I used my blush brush to apply this. Love the combination with my orgasm blush underneath! My bf said that I was glowing! That's exactly the look I was going for! I'm asian with very pale skin and I needed something to look a little more sunkissed! Would I buy again? Most likely, a little goes a long way! Not too bad for a $30 bronzer!

Eye Makeup Remover -Maybelline - Expert Eyes 100% Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover
mkgirl9 2/26/2009 3:27:00 PM
Well, I've used to this for many years and I do like it. It does get the job done of removing my eye makeup. But I don't advise on people who use waterproof mascara. The trick is to get a cotton ball/pad and really moisten. Then gently put on top of your eyes and let it sit there for a couple of seconds to remove eyeliner/eyeshadow. Get another cotton ball and moisten, then go for the lashes. After that gently swipe away. Eyeshadow, eyeliner, it does a pretty good job with that. Although lately I've noticed that when I switched to Dior show or givenchy mascara it doesn't quite get it all off. When I used maybelline full & soft, this remover did an excellent job of removing it. Will I buy it again? No, because it doesn't fully get rid of my mascara. If you use maybelline, cg, or such, I believe this will be an excellent eye makeup remover and do recommend it for those.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Black Tied Eye Shadow
mkgirl9 2/26/2009 12:01:00 PM
This has been a HG eyeshadow for years. It goes on a very smokey grayish color and applied right, gives a very good smokey eye. It looks like there's a lot of sparkles but really goes on with a grayish/black shimmer. I'm a NC30 for MAC with dark brown eyes. Applied right for a night out with the girls, makes my eyes pop! I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. its about $14.50 for a pot of eyeshadow and considering the product, its a very good price. It lasts forever! I need to replace mine with a new one because I still haven't used it all (been a year now). I would definitely repurchase!

I've had this brush for about 2 years now, and I love love this brush! I use this mostly for blush but I've been hearing about using it with foundation too! Crazy! haha I don't wear foundation but I do wear tinted moisturizer. I wonder how it would work with that? I might have to try it out. I will let you know how it goes. =)

Cleansers -IS Clinical - Cleansing Complex
mkgirl9 2/26/2009 11:28:00 AM
My dermatologist recommended this product to me (doc's office sells most of the is Clinical line) which always makes me impulse buy. $36 plus tax! Expensive for a cleanser! I reluctantly paid for it and hoped for a good product. I've tried many many cleansers and it always makes my skin too dry or too tight in some places. This product was actually pretty good! It wiped my makeup off and left my skin feeling very nice! I've recently ran out of this product and but it lasted for a good year! A little goes a long way. What I do is squirt a little bit on my hand (about the size of a nickel) and wet my hands and foam into a lather. Then gently massage onto the face and rinse with lukewarm water. I also agree with everyone that it is a little too watery but it does foam well. Maybe they should have packaged it a little better because of the watery consistency? It does a good job though, I have acne-prone skin, sensitive, and used to break out at the slightest whim. Now that I've gotten a little bit older and with the right products, my skin is leaning more towards the combo/normal area. Hardly ever break out anymore! I use this twice a day, am, pm, and it never leaves my skin feeling tight and dry like other products do. If it was a little cheaper I'll definitely buy it again (currently switched to cetaphil gentle cleanser (about $7.00 for a huge bottle). If you have the money to spend $36 on a cleanser, I would definitely recommend it.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
mkgirl9 2/23/2009 3:51:00 PM
Well, after reading so many different reviews I had to go out and buy it myself to test it out. I paid about $28 (and tax) for a 12.5 ml bottle. Which is really not a lot considering how other high end blushes are worth. I've been a fan of Nars Orgasm for so long that I thought it was time for a change and see what else might be out there. =) I opened the box and it comes in a clear nail polish looking esque bottle. The applicator really looks like a nail polish brush that you're supposed to use to draw lines on your face to distribute the color. I was a little skeptical...such a weird brush! I swiped little X's on one apple of the cheek (since it dries so fast I use one cheek at a time) and immediately blend by using a light hand to skim a long the apples of my cheeks. I did the other cheek and then if I wanted a deeper flush I proceeded to add a little more X's on where I wanted more color. I couldn't really notice that much of a difference at first. I asked a friend what he thought and he said he noticed an immediate spot of color on my cheeks. He said " wow, a nice suttle blush, very nice!" I was actually pleasantly surprised of the little bit of flush that came about. It definitely looked more natural than the powder blushes I've been using. Next I decided to tackle my lips. I really hate using lipstick as it smells weird and tends to be too thick for me. I usually opt for lip gloss and some lip balm. I made sure my lips weren't too dry and piled some tint onto them. Wow! My lips are a natural medium pinkish color and this made my lips pop! It enchaned them without overdoing it (although I bet you if I layered some more on them it would look like I ate a cherry Popsicle) It does tend to be a little drying on the lips though. If your lips tend to be on the dryer side I would exfoliate them by using a soft toothbrush before laying on this tint to your lips! I could kiss my boyfriend without transferring the color along with it! Genius! I would have given it 5 lippies but I don't think the packaging is all that great. I actually like the little applicator brush but I don't like how the lid screws on. It seems that if its not on tightly enough, it might come undone. That said, always make sure its closed properly and I don't think there should be any problems.

Mascara -Givenchy - Phenomen'eyes Mascara
mkgirl9 2/23/2009 3:11:00 PM
I was looking for the Lancome Hynose but the sephora near my home doesn't carry it! Instead I opted for this one! I am not disappointed! I'm Asian and my eyelashes are very thin and almost unrecognizable without some mascara. It comes in a pretty basic black tube with a cute silver top that is attached to the brush. A little shorter than normal mascara brushes because of the weird round ball brush. I was skeptical at first because I've never used a mascara brush that was round before but I absolutely love it! It left my little to no lashes a lot of volume, length, and it was easy to contour to the small lashes in the corner of my eyes. I was also able to use this on my bottom lashes without smudging! That is a feat in itself! I can never ever get those bottom lashes without smudging a ton a mascara on it! I've been using Dior show for a while (while I love the volume, its easy to get clumps, so I was in search of a better mascara) This one is definitely a keeper even with the high price tag, paid about $28 for this with tax. Even with the high price tag, I really love what it does for my lashes! No clumps, separates, a little curl (although I have to use my eye lash curler to give it more oomph since my lashes are pretty hard to curl even with a curling mascara). UPDATE: Okay, so I've been using this for about a month now and I don't really like it anymore. Its too time consuming, and if not applied right, it gets downright smudge city! Removing it also takes too long. Hm, I had really high hopes for this mascara as it did give me the volume I wanted. I'm switching back to Dior Show.

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
mkgirl9 5/8/2008 10:30:00 AM
I've been using this product for about 3 years and i've never had any problems (my skin is acne prone and tends to breakout at the slightest whim! esp when trying products that may be pore-clogging). It goes on nice and evenly and lasts for a long time! I would advise using a powder brush and some kind of primer/or moisturizer before. Only downside is that my skin is also on the oily side so it tends to get a little oily towards the afternoon but thats easy to get rid of. Blotting tissues help with that! I'm a C3 so it can make me look rather pale. I put a little bit of NARS orgasm blush on top and i'm set to go! Definitely an excellent for the price and I've used many! UPDATE: Okay, so i finally figured out where my tiny little bumps were coming from. MAC studio fix! After i stopped using this product, the bumps are finally gone! I definitely liked this product too. =( it has beautiful coverage for a powder and lasts forever. I switched to Makeupforever duo matte powder, and that works great! ^_^
