Lip Treatments -Carmex - MINT w/ SPF 30
rated 5 of 5

This is absolute love. I love my chapsticks to be non-scented, mint, or vanilla and this has to be one of my favorites. It keeps my lips moist during the harsh winter months and trust me, I have full easily chapped lips. I prefer this over the regular carmex, just because it's less messy!

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
rated 5 of 5
miszxlinda 3/15/2011 1:17:00 PM

I love this! So, I wanted to try a new pressed powder just because. I saw in the Rite Aid ad that they were having 40% off maybelline products and I've always wanted to try this, so I picked it up. Maybelline has to be my favorite drugstore line... I've always had success with their products. This powder is finely milled and it sets my makeup really well. The texture is very very smooth and you can't over do the powder-- it doesn't cake up. I can compare this to my MSF natural that I have in MAC, this is a nice alternative. The packaging is a little bulky but still, it provides a nice compact mirror. Overall good product and I would repurchase!

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
rated 4 of 5
miszxlinda 2/26/2011 10:39:00 AM

I got this as a sample (gift with purchase) and I do adore this. It does not irritate my eyes and it gets off a lot of my eye makeup pretty well! I love the stuff but I don't know if I'd purchase a full size of this when I can find other alternatives for cheaper drug store brand eye makeup remover. Pretty good product but the price is a little much!

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - Pearl Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15
rated 1 of 5
miszxlinda 2/26/2011 10:37:00 AM

First of all, I love using soft lips, it provides great smooth lips! BUT I truly dislike the pearl finish!! I love the scent and the feeling of it when it's on my lips but it looks like I ate a powdered donut with this one! ): AND it looks like I have mega chapped frosty lips-- looks awful! Esp. when I have full lips, it makes it look a lot worse. Unless used with lipgloss over it or with lipstick over it, it could be decent BUT overall it looks awful alone.

Concealers -Milani - HD Advance Concealer
rated 4 of 5
miszxlinda 2/5/2011 9:12:00 AM

I bought this at CVS (BOGO 1/2 off) after seeing a couple of reviews here and seeing comparisons and reviews off of youtube, comparing it to the YSL highlighter. I personally do not own that but seeing how that does wonders for people and the price tag on that is ridiculous, I wanted to try a dupe. I know for sure other drug store brands have something similar but I tried out the Milani brand only. Moving on to the review- I got it in medium #2 and medium honey #4 (correct me if I'm wrong, the color isn't on the pen itself). #2- has a light pink undertone and #4 is more yellow. I found #1 & #3 to be darker in shades in comparison. For MAC, I am NC 35/37 and concealer (undereyes- NW 25). The shades I picked out were comparible to the concealer shade. #2 works well under the eyes & #4 for spot concealing over blemishes and such. The color matched really well for my skin tone. The texture of this stuff is creamy and light-medium coverage. The packaging is great, even though it took quite a few clicks for the product to come out once open, it still has great packaging. VERY convenient to travel with. OVERALL- I do like the product but it's not long lasting. I have really dark circles from genes and staying up late and although this works for a few hours and covers nicely, it doesn't last long enough for me throughout the day.

Skincare - Face -MAC - Fix+
rated 4 of 5
miszxlinda 1/20/2011 1:12:00 PM

I got this in a travel/trial size bottle, MAC had some sort of gift set promotion online a year ago and they're online every now and then promoting they're full size items into travel items in gift sets (great to try but you can't back-to-mac trial size items). Anyway, I didn't get the hype either until I decided to give mine a try. I have VERY dry skin and almost flaky during the cold harsh winter months. Lately, I just haven't had the time to put on liquid foundation due to time and being lazy... haha...anywhos, this stuff smells GREAT and when I overdo the powder foundation on my face, this actually cuts back the powder caked on look. It takes away the clay-ness look and flakes off my face and hydrates it as well. Personally, I do love this for dry skin! I would buy this in the full sized bottle but then again, it is expensive ($19). I'm still looking to find something else that could possibly come close to it... but this stuff is just great for me

Lip Gloss -NARS - Ophelia
rated 4 of 5
miszxlinda 1/20/2011 12:55:00 PM

I got this lipgloss at sephora, in a nars gift set; it was one of the glosses that came in the set. I am NC 35-37 and I have very pigmented and very full lips, my natural lip color is almost as dark as the gloss itself. With this gloss on, it adds great shine and emphasizes the natural color of my lips. Total loveee! Theres no shimmers to it and no stickyness to it either. I really love the gloss for me personally, as it's my go-to everyday gloss to wear.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
rated 5 of 5
miszxlinda 1/20/2011 12:51:00 PM

Like the reviewer below me, I bought this at CVS for 75% off. You can probably still find it at CVS for this cheap right now (JAN. 20th), I still saw it for 75% off. This is such a beautiful nude lip gloss with a mixture of coral and a hint of pink and subtle shimmers. You can wear this alone or over a nude lip stick that washes you out. It adds color to any dull nude lipstick making the lipstick quite wearable. I just adore this and I'm glad I bought this!

Cleansers -Purpose - Gentle Cleansing Wash
rated 4 of 5
miszxlinda 1/18/2011 10:07:00 AM

I needed a gentle face wash that could wash my skin without irritating it.... I have really sensitive skin, so it's difficult to find the right cleanser. I've tried many and have had reactions to certain products but with this cleanser, it's been good to me. I like the consistency, it's thick and almost gel-like. I used cetaphil before and I do like that but I really wanted to try something new and this was the next product to try. It is as gentle as cetaphil but a lot thicker than that product. This stuff really does it's job with cleaning the dirt off your face and any access makeup you couldn't get off if you used a cleansing cloth. Overall, good product, very gentle to the skin.

Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation
rated 4 of 5
miszxlinda 1/9/2011 7:46:00 AM

I saw this about a month ago and it stood out to me, as a new product, I knew I had to try! I find that maybelline has a great variety of color matches and the consistency of the foundations doesn't break me out. The packaging of course caught my attention, it's different and sleek in a rectangular bottle and looks really nice. I liked how the display had little samples to test out colors from pink tones to yellow tones, I chose 220/natural beige (for ref. I am NC 35/37/C4). The color match was pretty good and it's really close to the 24 hour classic beige; I opened a bottle in the store to match it! (-; AND if you use smooth moose in 240 (also natural beige) it's almost identical to that color as well. Overall, I don't find this foundation anything special, it really isn't a huge difference from any other foundation. It's not that long lasting and it makes me oily after a few hours and I'm not an oily person. I have dry/sensitive skin and this foundation makes me oily. Overall, good product and a cheap buy (@ walmart 6.48) but the only con I'd find in this is that it has that oilyyy affect. I do like it though!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 5 of 5
miszxlinda 11/25/2010 9:54:00 AM

I FINALLY found this palette to be available at my local Ulta, they just had a small shipment of these and I randomly just went in to buy a lip brush but came out with THIS!! I was overly excited & shock to see this in store, the day BEFORE thanksgiving, and was so thankful to get my hands on this palette as I noticed the store was gearing up for black friday's chaos. Anyway, they had like 4 in stock so I got lucky. I've been waiting for this palette since it came out and it's been sold out since summer. I even had my name on 2 waiting lists (sephora & the urban decay website but no word for nearly a month now); anyway, if you like shimmery, glittery, festive eyeshadows with fun colors and also nudes, this palette is it. Urban decay is known for glittery chunks in their shadows but that is what makes it so fun to play with! You're getting 12 shadows (1 = 17ish dollars) for the price of $44 give a dollar or two for taxes. This is a steal!!! This palette is great for everyday wear and of course night time wear when you're out and about celebrating or having a good night out. The palette itself is sleek and I just love the packaging. I like that it comes with its popular liners, double ended for that matter & their famous primer potion in a mini sized bottle. Better mini size item than what they use to have! This is great for traveling also! Overall, I simply adore this and it's great buttery pigmentation! Total LOVE!

Mascara -NYX - Doll Eye - Water Proof - Extreme Black
rated 5 of 5
miszxlinda 11/16/2010 12:16:00 PM

I love waterproof mascaras over regular mascara, my eyes are often really teary and the regular stuff just doesn't do me justice as it always comes off! So, I decided to give this a try since I heard great reviews on the regular formula but of course, I picked water proof. I love the brush, it's different from many of my other drug store mascaras. It's a medium sized soft brush with some curves, It comes on pretty good and seperates my lashes pretty well also. It gives great length and I haven't found mascara that made my lashes as long as this. This is more for length than volume so if you're lookin for volume this isn't it. Overall, I do love this and would repurchase!

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
rated 5 of 5
miszxlinda 11/13/2010 8:37:00 AM

First off my skin; it's usually dry in the morning but somehow my makeup oils up my face by the end of the day and it's just too oily that even I get lazy to use blot sheets and refresh with powder. I'm in school long hours in a day, so by the end of the night... I really do not want to refresh! Anyways, I wanted to try a primer that could possibly mattify my face and cause less oils. I saw a few reviews on this and decided hey... why not. So it was a splurge to try and it was by far a GREAT purchase for me. This stuff feels thick but it goes on my face really light. I would prefer this in a bottle with a pump but I guess the jar works as the product is great! There are no shimmers (as opposed to the MAC primer that I have and dislikes)... overall it helps absorbs access oils and I find that my face is oil-less by the end of an 8 hr day! So it holds for me quite well. I'd repurchase most deff. The product is expensive for a drug store product (12-14 bucks) but I've been waiting for sales or printing off coupons (ULTA) to purchase this! (:

Lip Gloss -NYX - Lipgloss with Mega Shine - Beige
rated 5 of 5
miszxlinda 11/7/2010 9:36:00 AM

First of all, clearly this isn't beige...lol. It's a pretty barbie pink and I got mine at ulta for 5.99 (give or take a few cents). It's beautifully pigmented, the pink brings out the true color of the gloss. You can wear this alone or you can top a lipstick with this to make your lips brighter if you wanted but with my full lips, I wear it alone. This lipgloss smells like starbursts candy... haha at first, I thought it was just awkward smelling but then I realized it's a little fruity. It's not too bad... the gloss itself isn't sticky. It glides on smoothly and I feel like it'll easily rub off though so I usually reapply. I prefer sticky glosses as opposed to non-sticky because the color stays put on my lips. This is probably my only con with this gloss but I do love it. Would recc. if you're looking for an opaque bright pink gloss without too much obvious shimmers.

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic eye liner pencil -black
rated 5 of 5
miszxlinda 10/16/2010 10:06:00 AM

I've been using my urban decay 24/7 liner in 'zero' and I'm just about finished with the product. I really wanted to find a dupe for it as I adore that pencil but it's too expensive!! So, finally I saw a review about this product on youtube and read reviews here and had to give this a try. I find that the new raves in eyeliners are these liquid pencils...I've seen them by other brands too (cover girl just launched new pencils like these, and also l'oreal, that I HAVEN'T tried but would like to...)... anyway overall, this product lives up to the labels and such on the packaging, it really is smudge proof and lasts allllll day. I like this more than my UD liner actually! This is a lot smoother and is creamy as well. I often have teary eyes during the cold seasons but this liner stays put it doesn't smudge at all. Love this stuff! And I already have a backup (: (CVS WAS having a buy one get one half off sale soooo had to grab 2!)
