I like this as a balm to put on under lipstick or gloss because it sinks in quickly and leaves your lips smooth. That being said, this is for normal lips needing a slight moisture boost, not for lips needing any kind of extra healing, medication, or protection. It's winter now so I'm not currently using this product, but I do not recall any discernible or annoying smell or taste. It is good at what it does, especially if I apply a thin layer, wait a few minutes, then apply another thin layer. This earns just 4 lippies because I go through a tube so quickly. I recommend this balm for use in warm weather, under other lip products, or for lips that don't need a lot of help.
This polish is a pleasure to wear. This is the fourth day I'm wearing it and I only have the minimum of tip wear per OPI's great formula. This took three coats for full opacity, but I think a skilled painter can make it two coats. The color itself is awesome and complex. It even seems to have a darkened teal sheen in some lights! I recommend that all nail polish lovers give this a try, especially on a sunny day!
This pink is so close to perfect...but on my very pigmented lips, it appears a bit frosty and not as opaque as I'd like. I really wish I could get this color in a creme finish. I recommend this for anyone that is looking for a complex, wearable, flattering pink.
This is lovely, rich red. On me, it's the perfect everyday red, especially when applied sheerly or blotted. It's a neutral red with a bit of brown. Like all SL lipsticks on me, I can get 4-5 hours of wear out of one application as long as I'm not drinking or eating. I usually drink lots of water and remove my lipstick before meals though. It's also a bit drying, but lip balm underneath helps. I recommend that anyone looking for a neutral red that is not in-your-face bright or vampy to try this.
Pressed Powders -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
missykeyana 11/8/2012 3:01:00 PM
This is my current everyday powder. I apply it with my ELF flat-top powder brush. This powder is sheer but buildable. I can layer this powder to blur my hyperpigmentation spots without looking too made up or having to resort to liquid foundation. The powder stays in place as long as I don't rub against it. However, this powder is not especially oil-absorbing. I have to use my Black Opal Oil-Absorbing translucent powder over this if I want to avoid becoming an oil slick during the day. It also disappears from my nose and mouth area with time. To be fair, that's also where I rub my face the most. I'll continue to purchase this because it is a great match for my skintone and is actually "super-blendable". It blurs away my spots for a natural look, and it only takes me about two minutes to achieve a clean canvas. It's good for everyday, but I would use my Revlon Colorstay if I want guaranteed coverage and a lasting finish. For reference, I have caramel brown skin and I can wear Maybelline foundations in Dark 2 Caramel and Revlon Colorstay (oily) in Rich Ginger or Caramel. I have this in c7 Nut Brown and it's a pretty good match.
I really liked this lipstick. Against my caramel brown skin and mauvey brown lips, this showed up as a lovely nudey pink. The formula is good, as with most of the SL lipsticks I've tried. I only returned it because it's too similar on me to Revlon SL in Mink, which I already own and is a touch browner than this. I'd buy it again with I finish Mink though.
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Sweet as Candy

While the general formula of these shadows are buttery and smooth, it took way too much of them to show up on my eyelids. All I could see is frost. I returned this to the store. Not very WOC friendly.
Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick in Berry Haute
missykeyana 11/5/2012 5:36:00 PM
There's no berry in Berry Haute, but that does not keep it from looking awesome on me! Yes, it's a bright purple with a hint of pink, but for some reason this lippie looks like it's perfectly natural on my lips -- like this color was made for me! Even the formula seems especially light and soft on my lips. Lasts for 4-5 hours on me, dries down to a purple-pinkish stain, and covers up the two-toneness of my lips. My only regret is that I did not try this earlier. If I could I'd give it ten lippies. *I gave the packaging a 4 because the cap on my lipstick is a bit loose.
Misc Beauty Tools -Palladio - Rice Powder Blotting Papers

The packaging is good, but the powder (I had translucent) gave me cake face. I returned this to the store.
Conditioner -Suave - everlasting sunshine conditioner
missykeyana 11/4/2012 12:44:00 AM
I like this conditioner as well as other Suave conditioners for co-washing my kinky-curly 4a hair. It smells good and has mild detangling properties. My hair is left soft and ready for deeper conditioning or styling. I enjoy the creamy scent so much I had to mention it again. I'll definitely buy again when I finish the stockpile of conditioners I have in my bathroom (sigh).
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15
missykeyana 11/4/2012 12:36:00 AM
I really liked this lip balm. I recieved the mini in the Sephora birthday set. The packaging is pretty, but a little cumbersome to open. The smell is decent and fleeting, like lemonade. The balm has a very soft consistency, which is good for the lips, but terrible in the heat. This is not a good one to keep in your pocket! As for the balm's effects, it does my lips so right -- the moisture soaks right in and softens them right up. This is perfect for under lipstick! Unfortunately, I get a very similar effect when I use Nivea Kiss of Moisture, so I can't justify a future purchase, well, unless I'm suddenly blessed with loads of discretionary income. However, I will enjoy this mini set down to the nubs!

I really liked this lip balm. I recieved the mini in the Sephora birthday set. The packaging is pretty, but a little cumbersome to open. The smell is decent and fleeting. To me, it smells like the old-school Avon Dew Kiss Lip Dew. The balm has a very soft consistency, which is good for the lips, but terrible in the heat. This is not a good one to keep in your pocket! As for the balm itself, it has a tint, but it is barely discernible on my deeply pigmented lips. Because of this, I just use it as a regular colorless lip balm. It does my lips so right -- the moisture soaks right in and softens them right up. This is perfect for under lipstick! Unfortunately, I get a very similar effect when I use Nivea Kiss of Moisture, so I can't justify a future purchase, well, unless I'm suddenly blessed with loads of discretionary income.
I like this product well enough. It darkens and thickens my lashes well, which is good because those are my primary eyelash concerns. However, I give Maybelline's mascaras (particularly the Falsies and Full 'n' Soft) the edge because I seem to get a little more length with them. I would repurchase in a pinch or just to change it up once in a while.
I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but this made it burn and tingle unpleasantly. I won't finish the tube, much less buy it again.
Works as advertised. With these pins, I was able to make a low bun out of my below-shoulder-length 4a (read: super coily!) hair. If I ever lost these I'd definitely repurchase.
