Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Emjoi Epislim Epilator
rated 3 of 5

This is probably the cheapest epilator out there, mostly because it's travel size and battery operated. I've never tried epilators before so I didn't want to invest a lot of money in it. I used this for my underarms, and surprisingly epilating doesn't hurt as much as I thought, it's like a fast pricking, not nearly as painful as waxing. The reason I give this a 3 out of 5 is 1) It doesn't pick up the finer hairs 2) It seems a little hard to clean, or maybe I'm not doing it right 3) They instruct you to cut the hair to 5 mm or shorter, which is a problem if the hair's not sticking straight up. Verdict: I think I'm going to try a rechargeable one that you can take the top off of that's easier to clean. This is a nice little travel one for touch ups though, as it says

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
rated 5 of 5

This is a great moisturizer for your face, esp for the winter, it's thick but doesn't clog your pores (unless you use way too much, which happens with all creams I feel like). I chose this b/c it's one of the few creams I've seen that doesn't have mineral oil (which breaks me out). I bought the huge 16 oz tub for $10.29 at Target, for $10.49 you can get the 20 oz from Costco, and occasionally this goes on sale in drugstores. I kind of wish I could've gotten the tube packaging, but they didn't have it at Target. I chose yes for repurchase, but idk if I'll ever run out of this since I only use it for my face, lol.

Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Camindy Natural Shine Lip Gloss
rated 5 of 5

These are probably one of the best lip glosses I tried. I got it in Sweet Pink, which comes out as a sheer slightly shimmery pink. The formula is perfect, glossy but not drying (unlike the VS Beauty Rush glosses, which are extremely glossy but very sticky and drying), not sticky, and smells like the Lip Lacquer lip glosses. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, except maybe for those who like a subtle shine, b/c this is very shiny.

Lip Treatments -eos - Smooth Sphere Organic Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew
rated 3 of 5

I usually love Honeydew scents, but this one is kind of off... Seems artificial. The lip balm itself is not especially moisturizing, but I was pleasantly surprised that it serves as a good primer under drying lipsticks. It dries to a semi matte finish and isn't slick on the lips, so your lip products won't slide anywhere. All in all, for moisturized lips, I'd go for Burt's Bees, but the design and smell of this is very nice :)

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
rated 3 of 5

As a lip balm, this doesn't really make much of a difference on my lips. The texture is fairly thick, if you just go over your lips once and purse your lips, it feels like almost nothing's on your lips, so you may have to go over it a few times to deposit a good amount of product. I used it 3 night consecutively and I found that my lips actually became really thick and flaky, the way my lips turn when my lips are allergic to something. Horrified, of course I stopped using it. After my lips went back to normal, I decided to try it again, because this is VERY popular on Youtube and I really wanted to like it, but this time under lipsticks since it does dry to a semi matte to matte finish, and I found that it's GREAT as a lip primer, especially for drier lipsticks. My lips didn't react this time, I guess I just can't use it overnight. It smells very pleasant, this one isn't amazing as people say, it smells like soy milk and a hint of fruit, which is nice... But not like, oh my god you have to get this because it smells so good. I like the sphere packaging, different from the conventional lip balm. For $3.49 retail, I'd probably go with Burt's Bees if you want a lip balm that actually moisturizers, but as a lip primer I would definitely recommend this because it's not super slick on the lips. I said No to buying this product again because I feel like it would last me a good while. Kind of want to try the Lemon SPF 15 one.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Active Light Makeup - Buff [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
mayascara 9/21/2010 11:15:00 PM

I wore this for my high school graduation. It gives light to medium coverage, lighter for me since I used a stippling brush. I have to say that this foundation evens out my skin very well and covers most of the minor flaws. Of course, with noticeable acne scars I have to go over some spots with concealer. I then go over it with my favorite setting powder, Palladio Rice loose powder. I have combination skin, and this gave me a somewhat dewy finish without being overly oily. My skin looked great in photos, but it was during the day so there was no flash. Overall, it's a good foundation - didn't sweat off or anything. I recommend this for anyone who needs a long-lasting light to medium coverage foundation.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power - Cream Wash
rated 3 of 5
mayascara 8/11/2010 9:23:00 PM

Before I realized cream cleansers don't work for me, I always used these type of squeeze tube cleansers. But this is the worst cream cleanser I've tried. It doesn't barely cleans since it doesn't lather, and seems to leave some residue on my face (makes the skin feel soft in the process). I definitely wouldn't use this as a cleanser ... Maybe as somewhat of an acne medication after you cleanse your face with a cleanser that actually cleans. It doesn't make my acne better, but didn't make me break out. It tingles on my face, cheeks especially, but overall, I wouldn't recommend this as a cleanser or acne product.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - Nutri Gloss for medium to long hair thats damaged
rated 2 of 5

Like the previous reviewer, this shampoo made my scal somewhat itchy, I suspect that it made the skin on my scalp break out, but anyhow, this isn't a great shampoo by itself. I have an oily scalp and my hair is thick but I don't have a lot of it. I bought it hoping it'd make my hair shiny. It doesn't, when I wash it off my hair feels dry. If you have oily roots / scalp, you're better off w/ the Herball Essence Drama Clean, it makes my hair shiny and clean :)
