Lip Treatments -Neosporin - Lip Treatment

I'm currently taking Accutane, which dries your lips out to no end. My lips were so dry and peeling and bleeding. I found this on the clearance rack at Ulta. It cleared them up within 3 days. Random note... Despite the dry lips, accutane is worth it x 100!! The best thing I ever did for my skin :-)

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Liquid Neutrogena Facial Cleansing Formula
marisaew1 4/16/2008 2:24:00 AM
I have literally been using this product since I was 14 years old, and have always come back to it. If I break out from another cleanser, I go back to this and everything clears up. It doesn't dry my skin out either. It gets really foamy too, which I like. A tip that helps me is to wash your face for at least 45 seconds. I used to just throw on this soap then wash it off, but it works much better if you wash for a longer time. Lastly, my skin usually gets "immune" to products and they stop working after time. Not with this -- consistently great. Cheap too (comparatively speaking).

Self Tanners -ModelCo - Tan Airbrush In A Can
marisaew1 4/3/2008 8:35:00 PM
Originally, I was obsessed with this stuff. It was the only airbrush self-tanner that worked for me. But, after I stopped using it, 3 people told me that I looked orange :( That's the only reason I stopped using it.

Smells so wonderful! I get compliments from both men and women every time I wear it. And, this is going to sound odd, but the compliments always seem to come from classy, well-dressed, attractive people. I swear!

Hair -Bumble & Bumble - Hair Powder
marisaew1 2/26/2008 9:27:00 AM
I have long brown hair, that's not too thick or too thin, and gets oily within one day of washing. My mom LOVES this product, so I gave it a shot. Didn't work at all for me. It appears that it works, and your hair even looks thicker, but then after I leave the house, it just looks gross. The oil is not absorbed, so my hair then not only looks oily, but now it's almost clumpy and oily -- just bad all around! Plus, like other users have said, whenever you touch your hair, the color of the powder (brown, for me) get all over your hands. I really wanted to like this :( EDIT: I tried this again because I had a color mishap and am looking for something to add color without actually coloring right now. Although the color was nice, every single time I touched my head, my fingers turned brown. I'm scared to sleep on my pillow case! No matter how good or bad this is, I will never use it again.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aztec - Indian Healing Clay
marisaew1 2/19/2008 7:35:00 PM
WOW! I was browsing the product aisle at Whole Foods yesterday and came across this mask. At $10, I thought why not? But before I used it I read the reviews -- then I couldn't wait to try it after all the rave! So today I used it, mixed with ACV and Manuka Honey. (NOTE: This type of honey (Manuka) is unbelievable. It's very expensive, but worth every penny. It's something like 100x more disinfecting than tea tree oil. Also, you get a lot in the jar and you only need a little at a time. I mix it with dissolved aspirin as a mask -- it's just amazing and I notice a difference after just one application. If I'm super dry, I'll even sleep with it on my face. When I wake up, not only am I not dry, but the lines are gone. Anyway, this Indian Healing mask has shown the most improvement in just one application than any other mask. My skin was glowing and so soft. I swear old acne spots are a lot lighter. I didn't even have time to leave it on more than 10 minutes. I really recommend mixing it with the honey and ACV. I think the ACV alone would strip the skin, but the honey allows all the products to work in harmony without drying you out. I've tried the Queen Helene mask and it did nothing for me. Lastly, I think applying a thin layer is best. From the reviews I read, if the mask is too thick, it will not harden and do its job. UPDATE... 5 weeks later (March 25, 2008) I still LOVE this stuff. Actually it's my favorite thing that i use. i can use it as i often as i want. I ge the best results by using my microdermasion (which is just an oil of olay brand from costco), then i mix the clay powder with ACV to form a thick paste. I really only use like a teaspoon of the powder -- a little goes a long way. Above I described mixing the mask with ACV and honey. Now I only mix it with the ACV, as I think it clears things up a little more. I leave it on as long as i can, even up to 45 minutes. Your face will be blotchy with redness. This goes away within a few minutes. After the mask is washed off, i'll rub Manuka Honey all over my face and sleep with it on (see my review above). This is not comfortable by any means and it's sticky, so put a towel over your pillow. But I'm one of those people who is willing to sacrifice for good skin, so it's fine for me. I'm also single, so there's no one to complain about it ;-) I tend to "pick" my face (the worst thing I can do). This causes breakouts and redness. If I've been picking, then I do the mask then honey thing, it's all gone by morning. No redness, no zits.

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - HOOLA
marisaew1 9/3/2007 11:06:00 PM
I really love this bronzer. I'm a total bronzer/self-tanner addict too. Although here's the very important catch *** DO NOT USE THE BRUSH THAT COMES W/ IT! ** Using this brush really made it look "dirty" on my face. I use a really soft, full brush and only lightly dust it on. So much better that way.

Self Tanners -Unlisted Brand - Savage Bronzer ] [DISCONTINUED]
marisaew1 9/3/2007 11:00:00 PM
As everyone else here, I found this product through MUA and rushed out to Sally's to try it. I've read that some people are having diffiuclty locating it, but the Sally's by me had a ton of it. I usually use a really expensive self-tanner by Guinot (I can only get it at an expensive spa). However, I really use it for the bronzer that it gives (the color guide). This product really stacks up well. The color was great -- 2 people in one day said that my skin was glowing. This was from putting in on in the morning (so I hadn't washed my face yet). Once I washed it off, the only problem I experienced was the same that I have w/ all self-tanners -- the hairline issue. Anywhere I have any fuzz, the self-tanner really sticks (like if someone drew a circle around the outside of my entire face). I exfoliate well prior to application, but it doesn't help. The only solution is to wipe the tanner off in that area before it dries. Anyway, after washing it off, the color was really nice. Not at all orange or muddy. For the price, this stuff's is great.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
marisaew1 8/3/2007 9:54:00 AM
This, combined w/ Jojoba oil, is the best thing that I use on my skin. However, I sometimes just use it as an exfoliant. Every few days, before washing my face, I take about 5-8 aspirin, rinse water over them, then lightly scrub my face. Be careful though! If you scrub too hard, you will scratch your face and get tiny scabs. Anyway, if I have a few minutes, I'll leave it on longer, but I find that it doesn't really matter either way if it's left on. I don't mix the aspirin w/ anything else. I used to mix it w/ the Jojoba oil, but it doesn't matter, it always does the job. Truly amazing!

Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure
marisaew1 7/26/2007 6:29:00 PM
Seriously awesome. I liked it so much I just bought a bottle for my friend (she's in love w/ it too!). I use a drop in the morning and night, and it makes my skin glow. However -- I was breaking out a lot a while ago, and this did make me break out even more. I went on Accutane ( I have 3 weeks left) and am able to use Jojoba oil again. PS -- if you are debating to go on Accutane or not, please do! It was the best and only cure for my cystic acne. Anyway, now that I don't break out at all, I can use this again. It only stays oily for a few minutes, but does give your skin a "dewy" look.

Self Tanners -Guinot - Guinot Self Tanner
marisaew1 7/16/2007 11:42:00 AM
I have tried so many self-tanners and this one is flat-out the best! It really leaves a great color. Although it does have some cons: it is quite watery, so I have to apply a lot of coats. It also stays "wet" looking on my fact for a long tme. I literally put a blow dryer on cold and aim it at my face, then take a tissue and blot. I really use this more as bronzer than anything. My mom loves it too!
