I love this product! It is the cleanser/scrub to which I always return. It's gentle enough for everyday use but also cleans very well.

Concealers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer

I don't know what all the fuss is about. This is a fantastic concealer for blemishes. It's knocks out the redness plus the whitehead at the same time! It's a shame for some people that it only comes in 3 shades, but fortunately the "light" shade works perfectly for me. I suppose if it didn't you could just put foundation over it. It works way better than my usual method of layering concealers and foundation on my spots ad nauseam. My only complaint is that it is rather drying to the rest of my skin.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco - Camelia
mandy117 5/7/2010 11:13:00 PM
This is a fantastic shade of pink. It isn't too bright and flashy, just the perfect shade of flushed. If you have seen the picture of the blonde woman wearing Rouge Coco in the ad campaign (mine is looking back at me from People magazine), then I think that color is Camelia. The lipstick is heavenly perfection with Chanel's Mica lip gloss.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer
mandy117 5/7/2010 11:11:00 PM
I really like the results I have been getting with this product. I use the version for dry/combination skin. As concerned as I am about negative environmental effects on my skin, I was mainly drawn to its promise of combating the effects of emotional stress on skin. Emotional stress seems to be my biggest problem. Under-eye circles and breakouts occur the millisecond something stressful crosses my mind. I hate hormones! Anyway, this keeps my skin in good condition with minimal breakouts. I also love the SPF factor (SPF 25 is higher than what a lot of other moisturizers give you). I think it's pretty expensive at $45, especially for Clinique (and I worked at Macy's at the time and had an employee discount), but if you ever want a GWP, a PWP, or a fantastic lightweight moisturizer with good SPF that is great to your skin, this is it. *Note: I am editing this review. I love this moisturizer! It is the perfect consistency. Again, I'm sad it's so pricey, but it really is worth it.

Skincare - Face -Kate Somerville - Eradikate Acne Spot Treatment
mandy117 5/7/2010 11:00:00 PM
In theory I do not have acne, just "occasional blemishes" that linger...for weeks or months... I have no idea what has been going on with my skin in the past few years. I've tried so many other treatments, finding only a few that worked for a little while and then stopped (Burt's Bees and Almay). This product is really good at stopping a blemish in its tracks--the only problem is that it leaves a reddish/purplish mark. I do use my regular moisturizer for combo skin during the day; I use EradiKate at night. I am glad doing a best product search on MakeUpAlley revealed this product to me!

Concealers -TheBalm - Time Balm
mandy117 5/7/2010 10:49:00 PM
As concealers go, it is not bad. I chose the "Lighter than Light" shade (I am apparently as pale as a ghost) and it blends in seamlessly. For my skin, though, it only really worked well on old purplish or reddish blemish scars. The cream to powdery formula is great for that. It is a joke with regard to undereye circles. I use it there only to blend in my undereye concealer. It really doesn't do much. Also, it comes in this teeny tiny jar (my Korres lip butter, bought at the same time, is bigger) that makes me feel like I was ripped off. $18 for that?! Buyer beware. Also, there is a teeny tiny circular sponge that they put in the jar for you to use. Sweet idea, since otherwise you would be tempted to use a Q-tip or a toothpick. Good luck getting that sponge out without scooping out your concealer at the same time. Overall, I wouldn't mind the product if they gave me more for my money! I was stunned that the color worked so well for me. I just have to learn to ignore the part of the product information that says it works on undereye circles.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Mica
mandy117 5/7/2010 10:42:00 PM
This color is amazing! A MA put it on me with the new Rouge Coco Camelia and it looked stunning--fresh and bright, but not too bright. What I love so much about Chanel's glosses is their ability to add different hues and dimension to a lipstick while blending in. Chanel's in particular are made to correspond with many shades of their lipsticks. This color in particular is amazing! I normally can't stand really pink lips, but this is subtle enough that it pops (but not too much). It just brings light to your lips!

Fragrances -Gucci - Flora by Gucci EDT
mandy117 4/3/2010 1:11:00 AM
What a sexy fragrance! Damn. I'm hearing strains of "At last . . . " in my head and feeling satin whisper against my skin every time I spray this. On me it is deeper than most other floral fragrances, and the vanilla notes last the longest. It was great this past winter to clandestinely "sample" this at work at Macy's in the morning. It is definitely worth a try, even if you don't generally go for "florals." It doesn't seem very complex; it is just straightforward sexy.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Escale á Portofino
mandy117 4/3/2010 1:07:00 AM
I love this scent! I used to work at Macy's and one day during the morning rally I picked this up, bored, and decided to try it since I had never heard of it before. It was lovely! Even better, it was lovely all day! It is a rather unusual light scent that I can best describe as woodsy citrus--and the notes hit the senses in that order. That must be due to the cypress along with the Bergamot and Citron. I have to say that on the box is printed the fragrance notes. I love that! Some perfumes (ahem, Chanel!) never tell you what it is you are smelling. It is a perfect fragrance that stays light because of the citrus notes and adding a little spiciness. It does remind me of Italy vividly! I will definitely be wearing this all spring and summer!

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Herbal Blemish Stick
mandy117 1/23/2010 11:22:00 PM
This roller ball product is pretty cool. It really is great at cutting down a blemish's lifespan! It doesn't decrease redness, unfortunately, but it is fantastic at eliminating swelling and shrinking the general area. If you apply it early enough, it does help you skip the whitehead period. It stings a little bit if there is open skin, but it does go away quickly. The initial scent is atrocious, but it works so well that I can easily ignore it!

Lip Treatments -TheBalm - To The Rescue Vegan Lip Treatment
mandy117 1/2/2010 12:04:00 AM
I love this product!!! At first, I admit, I found it on Sephora and was attracted to it because of its charitable aspect--ALL net proceeds from this product are donated to Pug Rescue. I've never seen a cosmetic product before that supports animal rescue, but what kind of animal rescue volunteer would I be if I turned it down? A very cranky one with chapped lips. I didn't notice until I got it that it's vegan, too. I have to admit that had me a little worried; I thought it would be really dry or something. It is actually a great lip balm that lasts for a long time and has prevented my lips from cracking! It's not so thin that you would think it's a gloss-wannabe, but it isn't too thick and gunky to wear in public. The scent is great, a little menthol-y. The packaging is really cute. The box has a picture of a pug with a cape and lipstick (according to her cape, her name is Wheezie) flying over a city. On the front is a vintage picture of a woman holding a pug. The lip balm itself comes in a compact approximately the size of a powder compact, and it has a mirror, too. Full disclosure--I actually requested this as a Christmas gift from my mother, and she loved the Pug Rescue benefit so much that she bought herself one, too! The price is $16 which is a little steep for lip balms in general (but I'm not a theBalm regular, so maybe it's just in line with their products), but it works so well that I would rebuy it even without the Pug Rescue aspect.

Lip Liners -Chanel - Le Crayon Levres 26 - Pretty Pink
mandy117 9/29/2009 11:01:00 PM
The packaging is wonderfully efficient. They put a sharpener in the box, and the pencil itself is perfect. It's the perfect length and has a brush attached (great for blending). The color is definitely pink, which would be great for the *one* pink lipstick I ever wear...next time I'm buying a different shade.

Eyeliner -Chanel - Stylo Yeux Waterproof - Jade

I absolutely love teal and I squealed with delight when my MA showed it to me. Even better, she put it on me and showed me what eye shadows would work with it. I'm still a little hesitant about putting it on myself because it's definitely different, but I think it could work well with my Murano quad.

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Vitamin C Lip Smoothies Antioxidant Lip Color

I have this product in Rhubabie, which is a great nude shade. It's very pretty, but I love the Superbalm glosses better. The brush is nice, but I keep thinking that I'm not getting as much actual gloss with that twist-style container.

Polishes -Orly - nail lacquer in chantilly rose

This purchase was another case of the color looking better in the bottle than on my toes. It wasn't bad, just not as I pictured it would be. I love the grip on the handle. It is by far the best nail polish bottle out there.
