Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
makeupjulia1 11/11/2012 7:38:00 PM
This is probably the best Clean and Clear product ever made in my opinion. It is only like 6 bucks from the drugstore. It absorbs oil on your face and goes a long ways! I only need about half a pad to get the results I need
Even though this foundation isn't an HG, it really gives me a great finish to the skin. It provides medium coverage leaning more towards full. Although its great, I still need a concealer when I use it. I used this product for three or four months and I actually never broke out from it. The only complaint is the staying power is pretty garbage to me. After about 5 hours my skin gets very oily which is fine depending on the season but during the summer it is not the business!
Angel is a pretty unique smell that I really can't compare to anything else. Although the product stirrs up a ton of controversy, it is a winner in my book! If you are looking for something overly subtle don't buy this. You will have people complimenting you all day :)
Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Black

Awesome eyeliner! For the price, this yields bang for your buck!! I have never had any issues with drying up. Using this with an angled brush works a lot better than a thin liner brush like a bent liner brush. The matte finish it gives is amazing!
The mascara quality is pretty good but I LOVE the wand! I would buy again if I needed to go back to something that I have tried if an event was coming up. I am not absolutely thrilled about this product, it is just OK in my opinion.
So funny to me that this exists! I have rebought several times. I have pretty sensitive lips that get chapped often and I use chapstick but often need a nice balm like this. For the cheap price of like 3 dollars this can't be beat, especially when you are craving a soda!
I cannot beleive I have not reviewed this yet. HG HG HG! I love this stuff. I have sensitive combo skin (NC30) that depending on the weather acts dry or can get too oily. I put my moisturizer on and then my foundaton or concealor depending on how much coverage I want or where I am going and then apply the mineral veil. After that I finish off with blush, eyeshadow etc. before no matter what I did my makeup would not last. it would slide off my face and disappear or be sitting on top of my skin waiting for me to make a mistake and it would smear on anything that would get close to my face. After I have started using mineral veil I can apply my makeup in the morning or for a party and it stays on all night. I do not have to look in the mirror once. I am a mom of 2 toddlers and I just do not have the time to sit and apply a million things to my face once a day forget checking ten times in a day and retouching. I have taken one lippie off only for the packaging. Its jsut so messy. first the sticker in the container that is supposed keep the product in the bottom came off so half my product is in the top on the container and I have to pour some out onto the lid to use it.I also cannot use this stuff without getting some on my counter or sink. I wish BE would change to their new click and twist containers so I remove only as much I need. other than that I will not be without my mineral veil ever
For some reason I grew up with no petroleum jelly... O_o And I have dry skin. I would try all kinds of lotions around the house - Jergens, Vaseline brand lotion, Bath and Body Works body cream... all sorts of stuff. And then I heard about all the uses of petroleum jelly. So of course I went to the store and bought a huge tub for $2.34 and since then, I have always loved this stuff. Although I don't use it everyday on my legs to see if it helps with my mild case of keratosis pilaris (it moisturizes them well, though), it definitely does great work on my face. I'm not a very pimple-prone person, but I definitely get pimples every few weeks, even the huge, painful red ones. I notice petroleum jelly doesn't make them worse at all. Now, it doesn't heal them, from what I see, but it doesn't make them worse. This stuff soothes the skin, so it doesn't aggravate your pimples/acne at all. :) OH! And I almost forgot... I mix it with vanilla and mini chocolate chips and melt them together to make the best lip gloss ever. It's so creamy and nice. It also adds a nice warm touch to my cool lip glosses. It's great in hair, too. I swipe the tub twice with my fingers, rub them together to make the jelly warm and smooth, and run it through the ends of my hair, and rub the rest into the mid-shaft. It reduces frizz and it's not greasy at all. You'll only get greasy hair if you put it on your roots or if you put a lot of jelly (which most practical people wouldn't do) in your hair. EDIT: GAH! I forgot something else... possibly one of it's best uses... It's a great clear mascara and holds curls extremely well on the lashes. I curl my lashes and put a bit of this on with my fingers and it separates them so nicely so they look all defined, and makes them look way longer and thicker. :) As for the growing lashes aspect, I haven't been too dedicated with that, so I can't say whether or not it grows my lashes.
Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover

I got a sample size of this at the Lancome counter when I bought my Hypnose mascara. And inevitably, as samples I get usually do, it sat in the bottom of my make-up bag until one glorious day that I saw it and decided to give it a go. I LOVE IT. Its so effective at removing eye make-up, it's laughable to think I used to use facial wipes and thought they were ok. The texture of this is like a light oily liquid, but its nothing like the old fashioned removers, it doesnt leave my skin feeling greasy and icky after use. Give it a quick shake, apply onto cotton pan, hold onto the eye for a few seconds and wipe. All make-up that was on my eye is now on the pad. I also wear contact lenses, so have to be a bit careful with what I use because my eyes are quite sensitive (once made the mistake of trying Clinique's clarifying lotion... OUCH!) but this doesn't irritate at all. Suffice to say that as soon as my sample size ran out I bought the full-size version. Which also lasts for absolutely ages, I've had mine a good few months now, use it every day and still got over half a bottle left. Brilliant product, my HG eye make-up remover (:
LOVE this product! I am cursed with awful purple undereye circles (seriously, people have asked me if I'd gotten beaten up before) and this is the only concealer I'll use. It's light enough that it matches my NW15 skin, it's neutral enough that I don't need to wear another skin-tone concealer on top of it (Lemon-Aid, I'm looking at you), and it's thick and creamy so it has way better coverage than liquid or gel concealers. It covers like absolute magic. I took one lippie off for the packaging... a few years ago this product came in a little black compact with a mirror, which I highly prefer to the screw-top pot of today. Have been using this product for years and years and continue to do so!!
One thing I really like about Burts Beez Wax is that it is all natural ( I know this because Whole Foods dosen't carry anything that isn't 100% natural and they have this on the shelves) That being said, I feel more comfortable putting this on my lips knowing that there aren't some wild chemicals that I am putting in my system everytime I put on my lip balm. Regarding effectiveness, it worked reasonably well. The taste and texture is nice, a lot more reasonable than carmax. It is a decent product, nothing special in my opinion.
This product was terrible for me and did nothing at all for my lash length. It made my lashes separated and clumped together. Will not buy again!!!
I was so happy when I knew I was going to the US for work last year, because it meant I would finally get to visit Target! Anyway, first thing I did was run to the makeup section, and was so happy to see that they sold ELF!! I got a couple of things, but what impressed me the most was the brushes. I got this powder brush because I've always wanted a flat top brush so I could stipple on my powder, and also I was hoping the edges would help me chisel my face shape better with a bronzer. For 3 bucks I didn't have super high hopes for the brush, and it performed quite well for the chiseling effect. I didn't use it for all over powdering because I always stuck with my kabuki brushes for that. Then not long ago when I got kinda lazy doing my makeup, I started using the same brush (right after my bronzer) as an all over face powder brush as well. It was pretty good and worked the same as my kabuki brushes, if not, better. It's nice not having to pull out 10 different brushes in the morning... really. I'd rather sleep for an extra minute. I also think that the left over bronzer on my brush gave my face a more even tone when I used it again for the powder. Quality wise, the hair was quite scratchy at the beginning, but after the conditioning, it got a lot softer. I also hate how the brush is so heavy near the hair, which makes it kinda hard to lay on the counter without it falling into the sink (ew). Anyway, good brush for 3 bucks! But nothing super amazing in my opinion. Edit: After reading the other reviews, I'd love to try it with liquid foundation!
Not a big fan of this product at all! It made my lips feel extremely oily and lacked in effectiveness. My lips stayed dry and didn't get hydrated as I was hoping for and I have experienced with many other lip balms. It was very expensive for a lip balm. I bought from Kiehls at The Grove downtown and was sold because of the customer service rep ranting and raving but it was a pretty miserable product and left my lips feeling sticky/oily
I absolutely LOVE the dove bar cleanser. As the person before me commented, I had a very similar experience. I had very bad exzema and the doctor gave me ointment to treat it He recommended dove bar soap to help keep my skin hydrated and not dried out which would make exzema worse. Needless to say this worked well and didn't flare up my exzema. It made my skin lush and moisturized, very pleased with this product!
