Blush -NYX - Desert Rose

I have a warm skin tone (Indian) and this blush looks amazing throughout the year for me. Very pigmented even for my skin... I only need to touch the pan with my 187 once and blend it on my skin. The more you blend, the better it looks. I usually swirl the brush in circular motion. It just sort of blends it better and gets rid of the harshness. Lasts the entire day no matter what and doesn't make your pores look extra large like some other blushes do. If it is too over the top for you, you can pair this with something like MAC blushbaby or a bronzer. I do sometimes use a bronzer with this blush and it looks great. However, you really need to blend this blush a bit to achieve the soft look. I think it's a great blush for girls with dark skin and those with cool skin, if you could try pairing it with something neutral, I think it would work really well.

It is impossible to go wrong with blushbaby. Looks stunning on most skin tones. So worth it.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - retractable kabuki

It is so cheap and so good - it hardly matters that it gets a little rough after a couple of washes. I would simply buy another one! In fact, I have bought another one already. I use this pretty much everyday! I dot my liquid foundation on my face, and take a little powder on the brush and just buff it all over. A flawless look. I also use it to blend highly pigmented blushes. Looks gorgeous. Takes 1 brush and 5 minutes to get everything done. What more can one ask for?

Blush -NARS - Gina

Beautiful peach/coral blush!! Suits everyone when applied right. I usually tap my brush once into the blush and tap it on my cheek and blend. I sometimes use this over MAC blushbaby and it works like a wonder too! I love NARS Dolce Vita, but this is much lighter, a much summery and easy blush. Dolce Vita is harder to apply. With this one, you just cant go wrong!

Blush -Rimmel - Blush in Santa Rose

First - this has the worst ever packaging and the blush quality is not that great either, it's a mess when you swipe your brush into it. About the blush itself, I got this for $8 and seriously, what a bargain for such a beautiful color! I love using it just for contouring and just either add a little bronzer, or just leave it by itself. Both ways, looks great. This reminds me of a NARS shade as well, but can't really say Orgasm. But this is a really subtle, lovely color and suits every complexion! And like one of the other reviewers said, it keeps your face simple and not too busy - you get to overdo your eyes/lips a little bit with this blush! I'll buy it again, though the packaging is so poor, its so cheap and it stays on your face for 10 hours!

Blush -NARS - Dolce Vita
madhs 10/7/2010 5:02:00 AM
I have olive skin and NARS Dolce Vita goes on beautifully on my skin!! The best blush I have ever used and I will never use another blush again though I also love MAC Peachtwist. Similar, but Dolce Vita is so sophisticated. The application is a bit complicated and not as easy as swipe and blend. If you blend too much, you will end up looking really horrible. So the idea is to swipe, then tap it off your hand, then just pat it on. Goes on beautifully when done correctly. Will buy again, regardless of the price!!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl

Shows up so gold on me. Beautiful when applied with a light hand for a day look and buildable too! Only problem is, I feel it doesn't stay sometimes. Have to figure out a way, but the color is just gorgeous. No complaints and the veluxe pearl is just such a beautiful texture.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin

A foundation that probably keeps its word. Mostly. Great for day and night looks. Matte and great coverage. In fact, you can use this as a foundation and concealer. I have stopped using a concealer now. This product covers very very well. However, the only thing I dislike is the packaging without the pump. I have wasted so much of it sometimes. Now, I just shake the bottle and use the little foundation that flows onto the side of the cap - because that's probably more than enough. Stays on forever. And, though I feel it doesn't do anything to shrink pores, you can set it with a powder and it looks good. But definitely set it with a powder is my suggestion... and any blush looks great with this foundation, that's one added advantage. It really brings the blush out!!! Or bronzer. Looks great. The other thing I don't like about this foundation is how fast it dries up... so you have to blend it very quick smart. Overall, great, I would buy again. After all, it's a wonderful, inexpensive product. EDIT - I use this now with Murad Oil Control Mattifier which I use as a primer...and trust me, you won't be able to see the pores even after 12 hours!!!

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Healing Cream
madhs 9/15/2010 7:39:00 AM
I had some little "rash" sort of thing on my face... like 3 big ones... I put the healing cream on and rubbed it in, next day, I couldn't see anything there!! Miracle. However, one day, I got this really gigantic cystic pimple on my jawline. I've never gotten one such pimple before and it was so painful. I applied the healing cream on it and nothing happened for like 5 days... it was still big and painful and even now I have the scarring from it. Instead, I used Origins "out of trouble" mask as a spot treatment, which helped heal this much faster. I do use the healing cream as a moisturizer sometimes and it's great. It makes your skin look less red, blotchy and just smoothens it out. I also have very sensitive feet and get really bad, blue-black blisters from new shoes. I use it on my toes and it seriously does the job!!! Kid you not. I would buy it again, because it's a handy sort of thing to have all the time...but it's just so expensive for that amount you get! And the packaging is just not convenient.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sumptuous Olive (Veluxe pearl)
madhs 9/15/2010 7:21:00 AM
A great neutral color for my skin. Not too much glitter, just the right amount and love the texture, so easy to blend. Great by itself or with a little bit of brown/dark pink/plum colors. A HG eyeshadow!

Primer/ Corrector -Napoleon Perdis - Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer
madhs 7/23/2010 9:31:00 PM
One of my friends uses this product and has always told me how good it was! So went into David Jones and bought this for AUD 50. I used it with a brush and then used China Doll foundation. It did not make my make up stay, in fact, it faded off by noon and I am extremely disappointed with this product. It may work for others, but definitely doesn't do anything for me. And it also made my skin break out all over, especially my forehead and jaw line, with big red bumps. My friend who likes Auto Pilot, has dry skin and maybe it works much better with dry skin. Definitely a no no for oily skin. Would not repurchase, plus, too expensive.
