Treatments -Kerastase - Noctogenist Overnight Revitalizing Treatment - FINE hair

I am trying hard to understand why this product is supposed to be used overnight. I get the results - shinier, softer hair - right after application and drying. Is it possible that the real effect appears after 8 hours? Really? Despite the fact that perhaps I'm using it wrong, I like this product. It is not a staple though, because it leaves my hair slightly too feathery.

Mascara -Kanebo - Sensai Mascara 38 C (Volumising)

The best quality about this mascara is it doesn't smudge throughout the day yet it is not so waxy as waterproof mascara. It gives me a decent fan of lashes. I like the consistency most a couple of weeks after opening- it gets thicker and gives me more impresive volume. Even thought the mascara is extremely comfortable to wear, it gets uncomfortable when I try to remove it- rubbing my eyes in hot water does not appeal to me, I use waterproof make-up remover, but still it is a battle. Also, what about the packaging? When it feels more luxe, it's easier to justify the high price.

I'm deeply sorry I bought this cream. It irritates my sensitive dry skin so badly that I feel like scratching my skin off. So dissapointed!

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lipgloss in Sugar High

I agree with the previous reviewer - it is SO sticky!! I tried it only once and I really hate the feeling of it on my lips. It smells and tastes very sweet, maybe too much for my liking. Anyhow, I don't like it and will get rid of it.

Conditioner -Phyto - Phytobaume Conditioner
rated 5 of 5

I absolutely love the smell of this conditioner, this alone can make my hair washing routine such a pleasant ritual! Other than that the consistency is quite light and regarding the detangling properties, well at first I thought they were non-existing. But recently I got a new haircut, got rid of the dry ends and now the conditioner feels perfect and really does detangle. I use Phyto 7 after washing for an extra conditioning and end up with healthy looking, soft hair.

Shampoo -Kerastase - Bain Prevention
rated 4 of 5

I absolutely agree that this shampoo mainly stands out because it cleans the hair well and doesn't leave a residue that would coat the hair and leave the scalp oily. The scent is nothing special. Overall a nice shampoo for hair that is not too much on the dry side.

Conditioner -Kerastase - Lait Vital Proteine
rated 4 of 5
lueta 8/11/2009 2:58:00 PM

My usual complaint about Kerastase products is that they tend to be too heavy for my hair and I have to switch to something lighter occasionally while using them. Well this is light by definition and it works for me. I have rather healthy, hovewer frizz prone hair and this conditioner is basically just right for my type of hair. It helps to tame down the frizz, does not weight the hair down, adds some shine and managebility and helps to keep my hair healthy. Nothing overly amazing but I will consider repurchasing.

Moisturizers -Nuxe - Creme Fraiche Concentree de Beaute Suractivee (for dry and very dry skin)
rated 2 of 5
lueta 5/4/2009 4:25:00 PM

I'm very dissapointed - I was prepared to really love this, but, firstly, it irritates my sensitive skin, and secondly, it's not moisturizing enough. I know my skin is exceptionally dry and dehydtrated lately, probably because we've been experiencing quite a lot of sun this spring after a very gloomy winter, and my skin is reacting. I'm just glad that I tried a sample before buying this cream which unfortunatly is not going to happen.

Cleansers -Clarins - Pure Melt Cleansing Gel
rated 3 of 5
lueta 4/5/2009 3:52:00 PM

It doesn't clean all the dirt. I always use eye makeup remover and a toner after this gel/oil cleanser. I generally like Clarins products but I don't swear by this one. On the bright side, it is gentle and not drying. I don't care much for the film it leaves, because I use a toner anyways, however it does not clean thorougly enough.

Liquid -Lancome - Photogenic Lumessence Light Mastering & Line-Smoothing Makeup
rated 5 of 5
lueta 4/3/2009 3:53:00 PM

I've been using foundations only for a couple of years and have bought 2 from the high-end. The first one was Dior Forever, which I liked at first because it offered good coverage. however, eventually I decided the effect was too mat, the perfume too strong and sometimes caused allergic reactions, so I consulted MUA and bought Lancome Lumessence based on reviews. I'm completely satisfied - the texture is lovely and creamy, it doesn't dry my skin out, no allergies and a nice, luminous medium coverage. Will buy again.

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Hydro-balance Moisturizing cream [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5

A great daily moisturizer! I'm so glad I discovered it (the reviews here helped a lot, thanks) because it does the job for a very decent price. I use one for dry skin and am very satisfied with the results. It hasn't done any wonders but moisturizes and soothes my very dry and sensitive skin which is also prone to breakouts. My skin hasn't felt overly tight and dry since I started using this. Yes, occasional brakeouts, however less than usually. This cream doesn't have any fragrance, still smells a bit wierd. It's not glamorous in any way, which is what I actually usually look for in skincare products, but I'm learning to be fine with it and will repurchase (gave a smaple to my colleague with a dry dehydrated skin who's in love with solarium, she's buying it too) UPDATE: took a lippie off, because my skin got used to the cream after two months and got thirsty for more. Time to change, but I will come back to this eventually because, even though very basic, it's still good.

Styling Products -Wella - Liquid Hair Brilliant Spray Gel
rated 1 of 5
lueta 3/6/2009 2:12:00 PM

I'm absolutely confused - did I get something wrong? Even thugh the last thing I needed was a new hair product, I had to have this, because of all the raves here in MUA and the price is just dirt cheap. I tried it the very next morning after purchasing on my mid length slightly wavy hair before blow-drying and, yuck! - my hair was all sticky and frizzy.. I honestly don't understand what's to love about this spray gel and am happy to go back to Kerastase's Oleo Relax serum which leaves my hair smooth, soft, shiny and touchable... Why on earth does this work for everybody else but not for me?!

Liquid -Christian Dior - DiorSkin Forever Extreme Wear Flawless Makeup SPF
rated 3 of 5
lueta 11/4/2008 2:39:00 PM

Things change - when I bought Forever a year ago, it had the highest rating of all Dior foundations.. I quite like the smell of it (some otherwise nice foundations out there just have a horrible smell to them), but it could also be the reason why this foundation irritated my skin some days. My skin can get very dry and sensitive at times and that's when I instinctively didn't reach out for this foundation, and when I did, it just worsened the inflammation. This autumn I've discovered La Roche Posay Hydraphase moisturizer which is so effective that I don't have that problem with Forever any more. The coverage is medium and mat. I think it looks quite good on me, but I'd like a bit more luminosity, therefore I won't repurchase, at least not in near future. EDIT: I bought Lancome Photogenic and found it is sooo much better than this one for these reasons: first, the consistency is creamier, second, my skin tolerates it better, third, it simply makes my skin look better :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot - Constructivist
rated 4 of 5
lueta 11/4/2008 1:56:00 PM

Love it. At the beginning I used it all over my eyelid for a sort of smokey evening look, but recently I discovered that i can easily use it for day as well - I cover my eyelid with bobbi brown shimmerbrick in beige and apply constructivist with a finger on half of the lid, concentrating on the outer corners. Yes, I have to be careful with application, to blend it neatly, but I just love the result, which is very subtle but neat and slightly polished look. Both - the shimmerbrick and constructivist stay on place during the day. 4 not 5 lippies because if the teture was a bit lighter, creamier, it would be easier to blend.

Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Tea Tree line
rated 4 of 5
lueta 11/1/2008 4:23:00 PM

My greatest complaints about shampoos is that they make my hair too heavy and cause build-up after a while. I tend to choose moisturizing shampoos to keep my hair healthy and do them good, but they usually turn out to be too much and I always come to this point where I just want my hair to be simply clean, refreshed, light, shiny and bouncy. This shampoo does the trick for me. I don't like the smell, I really don't, but that's about the only negative. It's not too drying for my shoulder lenght hair, but I do use the moisturizing Phytojojoba shampoo once in a week. Will probalby repurchase if I learn to live with that overly strong peppermint scent.
