Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
lsmiles13 3/27/2011 11:10:00 PM
Not a fan of this at all. I thought the colors were terrible. Everyone raves that this is a Nars Laguna/Orgasm dup and I didn't think that they looked anything like them (in the pan or on skin). The color was just "off" in the pan, they were both were impossible to blend, and looked absolutely horrible on. I don't know if I got an old one or what, but I tried it for a week before just throwing it away.

Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder - Light Bronzer
lsmiles13 3/27/2011 11:07:00 PM
I've been searching for a while for a bronzer that looked right on my untanned (aka super pale) skin and this is totally it! Just the right color, not too dark or off-color (even though it looks odd in the pan). Easy to layer and blend. As far as the packaging goes, the pan was already spinning when I took it out of the package. But I de-potted it anyway into a z-pallette so that really didn't matter much.

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F82 Round Top Synthetic Kabuki
lsmiles13 2/16/2011 2:19:00 PM
Got this brush for Christmas to add to my full set of Sigmas and I adore it. I use it to buff in powder foundation. Great application and I love how thick the brush head is. I can't wait to try it with cream foundation, just haven't had a chance to yet (I don't feel like the duo fibre brush head is stiff enough for my liking).

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Youth Code Day/Night Cream
lsmiles13 2/16/2011 2:10:00 PM
I've been using Hope in a Jar as my HG moisturizer for at least 2 years now. I got a jar of Youth Code to test as part of a product panel. My skin looks absolutely amazing after I apply it. The cream itself is really soft and rich and absorbs right in. My face feels and looks so amazing after it soaks in. Perfectly even in color and virtually poreless (and my face is neither even in color nor poreless on it's own). It sort of plumps the skin back up and all of my fine lines really go away (on my forehead especially). This cream is perfumed/scented, but I haven't had any reactions and the smell is so pretty that don't mind it at all. While I do like this moisturizer, the only thing holding me back from switching is that Hope in a Jar actually healed eczema on my face and it came back when I started using the Youth Code. I know it's not supposed to heal, but I enjoyed cutting out the prescription cream step in my skincare routine.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
lsmiles13 2/16/2011 1:51:00 PM
I have this product in brown and charcoal and LOVE IT! I can't say enough about it. It is so super easy to apply, and you can get a great thin line right at your lash line super easily. This right now is the only liner i'm using. The brown is the perfect dark shade of brown, and the charcoal is nice as well (sort of a shimmery black). Not sure why some are complaining of smudging. Once it sets, it doesn't budge on me (whether i've used primer or not). I have to rub makeup remover really hard on my lids to get it all off at the end of the night. Edited: I finally got it in black and it's super crazy black! Still just as pleased with it as the other colors.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
lsmiles13 2/11/2011 2:56:00 PM
I really like this powder! I only wish their shade selection was a little more vast. Otherwise it's great for my needs. I dont regularly wear foundation, but just need a nice powder to even out color and make my skin look smooth. This does the trick!! If I apply primer, I dont even need to touch it up throughout the day!

Mascara -Physicians Formula - Plump Potion Lash
lsmiles13 2/11/2011 2:07:00 PM
When CVS had their beauty clearance sales recently, I found this mascara with a 75% off tag on it (making it around $2.50). For that price, I couldn't refuse it! The formula is on the more dry side, I would say, so I am not noticing the curl of my lashes falling out as the product dries. It makes a really nice separated fan of lashes when all is said and done and I haven't noticed any clumping. I also really like that the brush is bent and it makes reaching the lashes in the outer corner of the eye easier. It's making me consider bending the tip on all of my mascaras. ;) Anyway, I ended up liking this so much that I went out and bought another as a spare. Really pleased, and i'm really picky when it comes to mascaras.

Blush -Physicians Formula - Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Natural
lsmiles13 2/11/2011 2:05:00 PM
I think this is so cute! I saw a YouTube review on it and seeked it out for a few days before I finally found it at a local cvs. I had a $10 off rewards coupon (off of any Physicians Formula product) and it had a $3 off sticky coupon on it so I ended up getting it for free, but I would have totally paid full price for it. The color is "Natural" but it gives such a beautiful pinkish glow to it and it definitely lasts all day. I haven't even swiped it in the pinkest hearts on the pan either! This product is one reason why I am not self-tanning my face right now, because it looks great on my pale skin and I look forward to using it so much! I can't wait to see what it looks like on with a little bit of color, too, especially the more pink parts of the pan!

Conditioner -L'Oreal - EverSleek Intense Smooth Conditioner
lsmiles13 1/11/2011 10:54:00 AM
Right now my HG conditioner is the John Frieda Smooth Start and I believe this conditioner is just as good! Great scent, works great at smoothing, and I like that it is sulfate free. I'll probably switch to it when i'm finished with my tube of Smooth Start.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverSleek Intense Smoothing Shampoo
lsmiles13 1/11/2011 10:48:00 AM
I have been using the John Frieda Smooth Start shampoo and like it fine enough. The only thing it is lacking is better cleansing, but it helps to smooth really great. I'll compare EverSleek to this, since it's supposed to do essentially the same thing. I received a tube of this EverSleek to try as part of a product testing panel, and I LOVE it! I'd say that it probably works about the same as far as smoothing (compared to the John Frieda), but it smells wonderful and it actually cleanses great!!! Price is reasonable (and coupons/sales seem to be always gonig on somewhere). I will definitely repurchase this!

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
lsmiles13 1/8/2011 10:31:00 PM
I've been pleased with this so far. I really do think that it helps to smooth the skin and minimize pores (I have dry skin but large pores on my nose and cheeks). Helps concealer to go on smoother as well. The consistency is great for dry skin because it's nice and creamy. It's thick, but for me not at all in a bad way. I've only had to use powder over top of this because it smooths my skin out so well that I haven't needed foundation, and I haven't had to retouch at all any of the times that i've used it. FWIW I have several of the travel size tubes of Smashbox primer that I was using until I got this (got them free in various kits, but they retail for around $15) and they last forever. Paying $10-12 for this pot of Loreal primer is awesome. Especially considering that it's much easier to get (at the drugstore), plus Loreal is always on sale and there are always coupons. I also do not mind the packaging. When the level gets too low i'll probably just get some out with a foundation brush.

Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - No Chip

I am going to be returning this. Not even 24 hours after I applied (with a base coat and 2 coats of color) and every single nail is covered in cracks.

Bronzers -DuWop - Revolotion (Medium)
lsmiles13 12/28/2010 2:44:00 PM
I really like this. It's much easier to blend when mixed w/body moisturizer. I'm really pale and I've used it on my face and body (mostly on my chest if I have a lower cut top.) It really does give a nice glowy slightly bronze color without looking really crazy or orange or fake. If you let it fully dry it won't rub off on your clothes. Luckily a little bit goes a long way, because the tube is expensive! I would repurchase though. :)
