Fragrances -Tabu - Tabu by Dana cologne splash

To the people who say this smells "cheap", I think they are just confusing price with actual fragrance. Tabu has stood the test of time for a reason! I was also one of the people who sneered at Tabu. It was usually based on the price because it was so cheap. How could a decent perfume retail for such a low price? Then I tried it. You must use a light touch with this beautiful fragrance. I apply it on the pulse points and only use a few light sprays or dabs (depending on what I am using). This is the only perfume I use that consistently gets commented on. Men seem to love this! What lady doesn't like getting compliments? I can wear Eau Dynamissante, Anais Anais and other more expensive perfumes, and yet Tabu is the one that gets the compliments. Amazing!

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 1 of 5

This is horrible. I tried this many years ago when it used to be heavily promoted as "the mascara models and makeup artists used". It was all over the glossy mags in the 80's. I got sucked in by the hype and thought it had to be fantastic. This is almost play mascara. It smears, smudges and applies badly. It goes on very wet and doesn't dry very well. The brush is terrible. I can't think of a decent thing about it.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Curious by Britney Spears

I really expected this to be cheap and nasty. I was given this as a gift and I am very particular about fragrance. I have only worn about 5 perfumes in my life, so that should give you some idea of how particular I am. This is now one of my perfumes! I will not try to describe it as I am not very good at describing fragrance. It is subtle. It is not one of those perfumes that knock you over when a woman walks past. It is gentle and lovely. I was so surprised by this.

Sunscreen -Clarins - UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection SPF 40
rated 4 of 5

This is a quality product. It does exactly what it should. The reason I wouldn't repurchase it is because it is too small and the product is expensive. I cannot understand how a sunscreen can be so expensive. They need to give you more product if they are going to charge so much.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5

I wanted a pencil to line the waterline and not wear off within a few hours like they usually do. I approached the sales assistant at Priceline who recommended this product. She assured me that this would stay on all day and was also an excellent all round eyeliner. She wasn't kidding! This pencil lined my waterline so effectively that I couldn't wash it off at night! If I have one complaint about this pencil, it is that it can be hard to remove completely. I only have it in "black", but am considering getting some of the other colours because the black is so good. Well worth the money!

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
rated 5 of 5

This is a great scrub! When you first squeeze it out, it looks and feels really harsh. I was a bit scared to put this on my face to be honest! However, what a difference it makes! It foams up really beautifully when you add water to it and even though it does feel a bit rough on the skin as you exfoliate, your skin will feel as smooth as silk when you rinse it off. I love the feeling of putting moisturiser on after using this scrub as it feels luxurious! Cheap as chips, but works like a high end product. Amazing!

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
rated 1 of 5

This is one of the first tinted moisturisers that I tried. I really wanted to love it, especially since it was so expensive. I was led to believe that the colour was buildable and I just did not find this to be true. The colour was greasy and unnatural. As a moisturiser, I also felt that it did not do its job. The ultimate failure for me with this product was the fact that my skin could not tolerate it. I do not have sensitive skin and after wearing this product for half a day, I wanted to tear my skin off. For a high end product which I paid a lot of money for, this upset me. I would try a skin test first if you can.

Treatments -Moroccanoil - Morrocan Oil Treatment
rated 2 of 5

This product must work for a lot of people because it has a high rating. In my case, it did very little. I have blond hair with caramel highlights and a solid block of caramel underneath. I tried this product in a few ways. Firstly I tried it when my hair was damp and I used it when I was blow drying my hair. This was disastrous and my hair turned out frizzy and nasty. Next I tried it after using my regular product for blow drying when my hair was dry to stop fly ways. I found that my hair simply sucked the product up and was next to useless. I found that the best use for the product was when I wore my hair up. It gave it a slightly sleeker look. However, this product is very expensive in Australia and the bottle is not very practical to use as it is a screw top. You also get a tiny amount of product for the price. There are many, many products on the market that are superior and are cheaper. For me, it is a waste on money.
