Treatments -Dermalogica - MultiVitamin Power Concentrate

An expensive mistake! The product doesn't do much and would NOT recommend for oily or combination skin as you wake up with a thick layer of sebum/oil on your skin. Perhaps it would hydrate nicely an extremely dry skin but I doubt it would go further than that. Try a sample.

Skincare - Body -Weleda - Sea Buckthorn Body Oil

Not the easiest oil to rub in but once absorbed leaves your skin really really soft. I hope it'll help prevent pregnancy stretch marks...! EDIT: I finished this and didn't repurchase. Instead I bought Rilastil which I used throughout my pregnancy and not ONE stretch mark!

Treatments -Dr. Hauschka - Skin Ampules S or N
rated 1 of 5
lisa_thejack 10/7/2007 3:38:00 PM

I got the ones for sensitive skin. I've used two ampules every night for two weeks and my skin is exactly as it was before starting the treatment with the difference that I wake up with super oily skin on my forehead. A big disappointment not worth the money at all. I'll finish the treatment and if anything changes (though I very much doubt) I'll edit the review. EDIT: took a break from these then started again (just to finish them off). I'm only using one a night now and is more than enough. The product doesn't do miracles but it does leave you with a good skin in the morning.

Cleansers -MAC - Cleanse Off Oil
rated 2 of 5
lisa_thejack 9/19/2007 2:09:00 AM

Works like dermalogica precleanse - removes everything in one go but is cheaper than precleanse. Quick, convenient and non drying. EDIT: I've used it for about a week and it still is an ok cleanser but not as good as Precleanse. I find precleanse washes off better and leaves no residue at all.

Self Tanners -Elizabeth Arden - Quick Spray Self Tanner
rated 1 of 5
lisa_thejack 9/13/2007 3:17:00 AM

This is actually a review for Oil-free Self-Tanning Lotion Face and Body but it doesn't seem to be listed on MUA so I added my comments here. It stinks really badly, like cheap self tanners used to smell 15 years ago. The colour is not great either, it's orange! With all the new products out there - better fragrances, more natural colours and more easy to apply, this doesn't compare at all.

Like someone else has already said, an overrated vaseline-like product. Doesn't do anything more than vaseline does. Will not repurchase

Tinted Moisturizer -Clinique - Moisture Sheer Tint [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
lisa_thejack 9/3/2007 3:56:00 AM

Compared to dermalogica sheer tint moisture (medium) this (bisque/blond) is more moisturising, has more tint and evens out skin nicely. Cheaper and no glitter either.

Mascara -Clinique - Naturally Glossy Mascara
rated 5 of 5

I truly dislike Clinique as a brand and its skincare products are horrendous but the makeup range gets the thumbs up. This is such a nice mascara, very natural looking and easy to wear day and night.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Power Rich
rated 3 of 5
lisa_thejack 3/15/2007 8:22:00 PM

I waited four weeks before typing this up and I'm still not 100% sure... BUT a few people have commented on my skin looking better! So far it certainly hasn't done a great job on redness, spots or evening out my skin tone. However it seems to help smoothing out eye wrinkles. They haven't totally gone but they're definitely more subtle than before. Apparently, when using this product there is no need for extra stuff like eye cream (it works on the eye area too and doesn't irritate), exfoliants, etc. If you don't wear an SPF foundation, then you need to apply dermalogica booster (SPF 30) or any other SPF product. if anything changes, I'll update the review. Meantime, get a small sample and try power rich for yourself... UPDATE: Although I still think it's a nice moisturiser, I won't repurchase. It's too expensive for what it delivers - still need to exfoliate and skin tone has not improved one tiny bit.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere
rated 1 of 5
lisa_thejack 3/14/2007 5:52:00 PM

I don't understand the high rating this foundation gets. Myabe it's all down to skin type? Don't know, I just wish I listened to mjmz1, who couldn't have described this product better - it sits on your skin and stays sticky throughout the day. Good colour match for me too but that's about it. Honestly, save your money!

Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Allergen - Prevage MD Anti-aging Treatment (1% prescription-strength Formulation)
rated 1 of 5
lisa_thejack 3/11/2007 8:31:00 PM

A con! Luckily I got some samples and used the product for a couple of weeks on one side of my face only. Does nothing at all, no difference on wrinkles, lines or complexion whatsoever. And the price tag it comes with? Ladies save your £££! PLUS ELIZABETH ARDEN DOES TEST ON ANIMALS!!

Horrendous. Never ever had dry flaky skin until I started to use this. Won't even finish my first jar, let alone purchasing again!

Treatments -Dermalogica - Multivitamin Hand and Nail Cream
rated 5 of 5
lisa_thejack 2/28/2007 7:48:00 PM

Excellent! This product is so hydrating and yet not greasy AT ALL. I had cracked skin between my fingers and this sorted the problem out immediately. I have very strong nails so cannot really comment on the efficacy on that. Quite expensive for a hand cream though...

Cleansers -Dermalogica - PreCleanse
rated 5 of 5
lisa_thejack 2/20/2007 5:59:00 PM

I totally love this cleanser if only it didn't make my eyes burn! It smells delicious (you can tell it's real essential oils rather than synthetic stuff) and it does leave your skin clean and feeling very comfortable. Unfotunately, no matter how much I rinse, it's a bit too irritating for my eyes. This is disapponting. I know I could use a specific eye make-up remover but that's not me..I mean I cannot possibly be bothered to use precleanse, eye make-up remover and face wash, just to cleanse! I'd recommed to get a sample. If your eyes can bear the ingredients, go for it - it's an outstanding product. EDIT: somehow my eyes got used to the product and find a lot less irritating... the way this product melts makeup is unbelievable - you can actually see the dirt washing away from your hands when you rinse them! Get a sample if you're not sure, you'll love it!
