Eye Shadow -MAC - Cool Pink Pigment
rated 4 of 5
lemurian 1/7/2005 10:22:00 PM

I love this mixed with Rosebud Salve on my lips or cheeks. It's a super-cool Barbie pink (almost lilac) that looks destined to be accompanied by blue eyeshadow :P The color would probably also make a nice wash for someone into wearing pink eyeshadow, but for that purpose I think the texture would leave a lot to be desired...

Eye Shadow -Hard Candy - Delusional Eye Shadow Quartet
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 1/7/2005 12:08:00 AM

This quartet is really lovely! Dillusional includes three irridescent eyeshadows (lilac, spring green and pink) that blend beautifully and really compliment my cool PPP complexion and the lilac especially brings out my green eyes! The silvery shade, Soul, is practically identical to Stila Twilight, but maybe a hair darker and lacking the blue undertones. I'm not sure how this is supposed to pair with the other shades, but it's a good color to have in your arsenal anyway. BTW, these are best applied with a finger or a sponge applicator. A brush barely picks up these delicate colors...

Concealers -La Mer - The Concealer
rated 2 of 5
lemurian 12/19/2004 5:53:00 PM

Oh my god, I can't believe the kind of reviews this product is getting!!! I'm a loyal La Mer user (creme, serum, SPF, foundation, etc.) but this concealer is so not worth the money, IMO. Even though the pigment does disappear into skin (which I guess is nice for those who are looking for a perfect match or whatever) it didn't do anything to cover my under-eye circles and was useless for disguising blemishes!!! There are dozens of concealers that conceal better than this, like Lancome Photogenic, for instance, or even Jane! Even though I love La Mer, I would not recommend this product.

Concealers -Chantecaille - New Stick - Foundation and Concealer
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 12/18/2004 11:13:00 PM

I don't know why it's taken me so long to review this -- Chantecaille New Stick in Chamomile is my HG foundation/concealer!! I've been using it for years. The pigment in this is so finely milled, I think there is nothing like this on the market. It looks like skin! It makes my pores so much less obvious and blurs all kinds of imperfections in a way that nothing else can. LOVE THIS!!! Also, it builds nicely without looking cakey, which makes it great for covering blemishes or rosacea.

Palettes -Jouer - Snow Bunny
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 12/9/2004 3:34:00 PM

I don't know if this qualifies as a palette, but it's two of Jouer's products "linked" together and sold as SNOW BUNNY. It includes one lip color in Blossom and an all-over color in Camillia. Blossom is a sheer neutral rosey pink and it's soooo creamy!! No offensive taste or smell and feels fabulous on the lips! Very moisturizing but tenacious and not sticky at all! Camillia is a sheer white highlighter, very finely milled and also creamy -- possible my new HG of silvery white highlighters :) The packaging is adorable, as the coupled products are wrapped in a pink snowflake embossed plastic sleeve that says SNOWBUNNY. These products can be separated as well, or linked up with other Jouer products, which I'm sure I'll be trying in the very near future! Also, I don't think these shades are available in the regular line. I believe that they're exclusive to this little gift :)

Eye Shadow -Stila - Azur Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 12/5/2004 4:26:00 PM

Azur first came to my attention when I saw it paired with Jade on Helena Christensen in a magazine. Together, these shades create the most glamourous smokey eye!! This is an intense, saturated sapphire blue.. so gorgeous and unique. Even for those who think they can't wear blue, this is worth trying!!

Lotions/ Creams -Fresh - Sugar Blossom Hand Treatment
rated 4 of 5
lemurian 11/16/2004 5:19:00 PM

While I do agree that this makes a pretty crappy hand cream (too greasy) and is EXTREMELY expensive, I find that it works wonders for the dry skin on the backs of my arms! And I personally love the smell -- just like lemon drops!

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 10/23/2004 7:56:00 PM

Love these!!!! They suck up the grease without removing any make up from my face, and they don't deposit any powder. Absolutely GODSEND. I do wish the packaging was less conspicuous, though.. I feel less than classy whipping out crumpled CLEAN & CLEAR emblazoned cardboard in a restaurant or on the train or wherever :P Other than that, a stellar product!

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
rated 1 of 5
lemurian 10/23/2004 7:51:00 PM

I tried this in my teens because my mother always had those trial sizes laying around. The only thing it did for me was cause me to BREAK OUT IN HIVES!!!!!! I still get nervous just spying the bottle from across the store.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
rated 2 of 5
lemurian 10/23/2004 7:47:00 PM

I love the smell of this lip balm, I love the texture, love the tin, but I HATE the way it dries out my lips. I've repurchased on so many occasions thinking each time that it would be different. No luck. This is just way too drying. I envy the ladies for whom this apparently works..

Eye Shadow -Lancome - Colour Dose - Bungalow Berry
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 10/23/2004 7:44:00 PM

Like all Lancome Color Dose products, the quality of this is outstanding, i.e. it's very pigmented, doesn't crease or fade, etc. Bungalow Berry is a muted fuschia with subtle gold shimmer.. sort of like a cooler version of MAC's Rose pigment. At least, I have similar difficulty wearing both :P Although I do have good luck using this as a base for the sparkly shades in HC's Drama Queen quartet!!

Brows -Urban Decay - Brow Beater
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 10/6/2004 12:13:00 PM

Love this. I have always hated, and I mean HATED, brow pencils. I only feel compelled to fill my brows when I want to look super-polished, so I've managed to make one compact of HC Training Brow last for a few years! Pencils usually create to harsh of a line, IMO, but this UD Brow Beater is MARVELOUS!!! The blonde shade matches perfectly (not too ashy, not to orange), blends nicely and evenly, and the wax end really does set them well and makes my brows look all glossy and healthy to boot. Perfection achieved!!! And it's great to not have to have another compact to tote around when I travel. I definitely recommend this product for light-haired gals!!

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - Black Orchid- It Was The Perfect Alibi [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 10/6/2004 12:02:00 PM

This product is great!! Exactly what I've been looking for, and the fabulous packaging is just icing on the cake! I'm a PPP with naturally rosey cheeks, and I use the white portion of this on my brow bone, tops of my cheekbones and in the corners of my eyes. It's not over the top, and just imparts a nice sheen when it catches the light. The pale pink is just PERFECT for my cheeks.. it matches my own color perfectly and makes for a very delicate, feminine porcelain doll kind of look, without making it seem like I'm wearing make up at all!! I've not been so impressed by Benefit in the past, but this is just an amazing product, inside and out :)

Lipstick -MAC - La La Lady
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 9/2/2004 5:35:00 PM

This quickly becoming my favorite MAC lippie! It is a rich, creamy purple, just as it says on the MAC website. However, this formula is so versatile, it can be blended and blotted to a gorgeous blackberry stain that STAYS! Oh my god, the staying power is fantastic. It also looks fabulous with a milky pink gloss over it, such as Lancome Dreamsicle. Luckily, there is enough color and moisture here to keep it from being too goth. And it's neutral enough to work for anyone, warm or cool, dark or pale. It's a real shame that this is LE..

Lipstick -Lancome - Juicy Wear
rated 5 of 5
lemurian 8/1/2004 2:46:00 PM

This product is nothing short of miraculous! I've never, ever found a long lasting lipstick that I could wear -- my lips would dry out, break out, or worse they'd SHRINK into oblivion. But this is just *perfect*. I purchased Flirty Mauve, which is a deep, gorgeous neutral mauve that really suits my fair skin/green eyes. I've been swiping it on without liner, and it leaves a gorgeous stain on my lips without drying them out AT ALL. The gloss is great in that it is sparkly and wet-looking, but not so sticky that my hair gets caught, hehe. This stuff lasts! For me it'll make it all day or through one meal (but not two) and eventually wears off pretty naturally. It comes off easily with an oil based cleanser. I love this product, and I plan to buy more shades, definitely.
