Misc Beauty Tools -Neutrogena - Eye Make-up Remover Pads
leilanader 11/26/2011 3:50:00 PM
This product is a joke, it does not do anything! First the pads dont have enough moisture on them, they are just slightly humid but mostly dry. It just doesn't remove anything, my mascara and eyeliner stay in places when I swipe my eyes with the pad. I don't get it, how did this pass the testing check at neutrogena. Weird.

Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System
leilanader 11/26/2011 3:43:00 PM
OLAY PRO X BRUSH vs CLARISONIC. I recently discontinued the pill and consequently started suffering from serious acne breakouts. My derm put me topical antibiotic for night and Retin-A for day. This made things a bit better however pimples still emerged. But even before any of this happened, I had been eying the CLARISONIC for years, just couldnt justify the price especially that my skin was in perfect condition at the time. With my current skin condition, the clarisonic had to be given more serious thought...still 200$ is a lot and what if I don't like brushing my face or dont stick to it like most things. So I decided to go for the cheaper alternative and bought the OLAY PROX BRUSH. I used it once a day everyday for 2 weeks before noticing that my skin was pimple free. I couldn’t believe it, it works! Was I not cleansing my skin properly before? Anyways, I was so happy but then I had a thought…If a 30$ brush did this, what can the 200$ one do?! Off I went to Sephora and purchased the CLARISONIC MIA. I had 60days to try it and return it for a full refund, no questions asked and with so many people debating which brush is better I thought I would do an experiment. I used each brush once a day on one side of my face RELIGIOUSLY for 6 WEEKS. The conclusion…Each brush had a different technology, the clarisonic has sonic vibrations so I had to do a rotating motion on my face while using it, the Olay brush rotates by itself so I had to just move it around in a straight movements (up, down, right, left). The MIA was bulkier to hold but I didn’t mind. I used both under the shower with no problem. Both left my skin feeling very clean, better than when I just rubbed my cleanser with my hands and both kept pimples at bay. Some people commented that the Clarisonic gives your skin better texture, so I carefully inspected each side of my face, both had reduced (a little) the size of my pores, had removed the majority of the blackheads on my nose and left my skin feeling equally soft. I did not see any difference in these two brushes in terms of efficacy. So after my little experiment was over, I returned the MIA to Sephora. I would have kept the Clarisonic had I bought the one that can be used on the body because that is an advantage over the Olay. But since this cannot be done with the MIA, I could not justify keeping it even if it felt fancier to hold and I liked that it had a charger instead of battery. I may purchase the Clarisonic that comes with a body brush in the future because I now know that electric brushes clean better than manual methods. It has now been 6 months since I started using the Olay and the battery is still going strong. Of note, I went on a trip for 10 days and forgot to bring my brush with me, and I got some pimples because of that. Which means this brush has to be used relatively daily. Not sure if the Clarisonic has longer lasting cleansing properties.

Treatments (Eye) -Promaxyl - Eyelash Renewal serum Rapidlash
leilanader 5/4/2011 9:57:00 AM
I waited for a year of use before reviewing this product. I never would have believed that anything less than a prescription drug like Latisse could make any significant difference to lash growth. My eyelashes are fine, short, straight, they start light brown and then turn transparent toward the end. They did not look like they were there if I don't wear mascara. Even with mascara they did not add much definition to my eyes because they are short, I had to put an eyeliner for that, but if the eyeliner is put on a bit thick the lashes would not show past the line even with the best mascaras. This costs 50$, after the first 3 months of use my lashes were longer by almost 50%. This is a dramatic change for me, it has changed the way I put makeup and they way makeup looks, most days I don't put an eyeliner anymore. After the first 3 months i decided that I can now use it every other day to save on product, don't do that, I started having inconsistent growth which no one would notice but me but still, this product must be used daily for optimum results. This did not make my lashes thicker, just longer, I don't know if Latisse would surpass rapidlash on that one. My eyelash standards have changed so much now, I cannot go back, this is part of my daily routine. During one of my many trips, the airline lost my luggage, it was 10pm, the first thing I did was head to a phamracy, not to buy a toothbrush but to buy this serum.

Bronzers -E.L.F. - Studio Warm Bronzer
leilanader 1/4/2011 7:54:00 PM
I ordered this after my favorite youtube guru lollipop26 raved about it. This bronzer is way to shimmery and unnatural looking, it just sits on top of the skin, I have never seen so much shimmer in a bronzer before. I cannot imagine anyone being able to wear it.

Moisturizers -Elizabeth Arden - Ceramide Plump Perfect
leilanader 5/8/2010 4:58:00 PM
This review is for the "Ceramide Plump Perfect Eye Moisture Cream SPF15" which I couldn't find on the list here. I was looking for an eye cream that has an SPF in it, I know there are cheaper brands out there that have this but I wanted to invest a little bit more and get my first anti-anging product for the eye area as I was starting to see fine lines. The MA said this has SPF 15 and that it is a plumper that will immediatly make my fine lines less visibile and that in time it fights new signs of aging. I was not expecting to pay 65$ CND for a 15ml pot but I got convinced that it is one of the best eye creams out there. Well, after using this for 7 months night and day I can tell you that it did absolutely nothing. Where is the immediate plumping effect? heck, even longterm after 7 months? How can this be marketed for older ladies if it could not do anything for my barely there fine lines. The guerlain Happylogy eye did more than this thingand it is just a moisturizer. After 7 months of use, I have more fine lines now, meaning the product did not even prevent future ones from forming! I can't beleive I paid so much for 15ml only to come out worst than I first started.

Cleansers -Olay - Daily Facials
leilanader 5/5/2010 1:47:00 AM
I bought this because I live on the road and wanted an all over non liquid makeup remover to put safely in my suitcase. This cannot be used to remove eye makeup, it stings like crazy and I don’t even have sensitive eyes. It burns so much that I close my eyes hard when I use it but then I end up not removing most of the eyeliner and mascara because of that. I'm giving it two lippies just because it is ok at removing makeup.

Cleansers -Clinique - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
leilanader 5/5/2010 1:39:00 AM
I have been using this makeup remover for 5 months now and I love everything about it. I bought it because I live on the road and wanted a non liquid makeup remover to put safely in my suitcase. I mostly use it on my eyes. This is the quickest remover I have seen, it takes two swipes on each eye and all is gone, no rubbing necessary…MAGIC. This does NOT sting the eyes at all, it is so gentle I’m not really sure how it works so well. Safe to say I will be purchasing over and over again. UPDATE: it has now been over a year and I finally ran out this. If you consider how long this one jar lasted i would say in terms of cost this is the cheapest eye makeup remover ever (i only use it on my eyes). I went to Sephora and bought another one.

Eye Makeup Remover -Nivea - Eye Make-Up Remover
leilanader 10/20/2007 10:49:00 PM
My HG eye make-up remover gel from Yves Rocher was discontinued a couple of years ago. Since then I have tried many brands trying to find a replacement that can match it (Lancome, Andrea, Avon, Marcell, Almay, etc.) but none did (see my other reviews). My biggest issue was that they all did not properly remove the make-up and therefore I always ended up with raccoon eyes in the morning. I decided to try Nivea because of all the good reviews on this website and because of the low price. This is a lotion that removes make-up very easily without using too much of it. It did not sting my eyes even after leaving it on for hours before rinsing. But most importantly, it removes make-up so well that for the first time in years my eyes are clean in the morning. Truly great product!!!

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
leilanader 10/20/2007 10:39:00 PM
I have been trying to find a good eye make-up remover for years. I tried different pharmacy brands that were soso but I always ended up with raccoon eyes in the morning. I finally decided to try this expensive product at 3 times the price (over 30$) hoping it would make a difference. This does remove make-up easily but you have t use a lot of it to damp the cotton ball because it is a liquid and not a lotion. I STILL ended up with raccoon eyes. You would think at this price you are guaranteed thorough make-up removal. I was not impressed with this product and will not repurchase at the ridiculous price again.

Eye Makeup Remover -Marcelle - Soothing Eye Make-Up Remover Gel
leilanader 10/19/2007 12:13:00 AM
My HG eye makeup remover, a gel from Yves Rocher, was discontinued a couple of years ago. I really liked the gel consistency compared to oils or lotions so I decided to find a similar product. I bought the Marcelle one as it is comparable in consistency and in price. It is an ok product, easy to remove the makeup. However, even though it looks like all makeup was removed, I still got raccoon eyes every morning. Plus it stings a bit when you apply it.

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Oil-free eye makeup remover liquid
leilanader 10/19/2007 12:03:00 AM
I am not pleased with this product. It is a very hard gel; I would say it is more of a wax than a gel, so hard that it takes a lot of effort to squeeze a little amount out of the tube. Also due to the hard consistency you have to rub hard on your eyes to spread it. It makes a mess and you have to go back with clean cotton balls to try to clean it. To go through all that and still end up with serious raccoon eyes in the morning is simply annoying. Will not repurchase again!!!

Treatments (Eye) -Guerlain - Issima Happylogy Eye
leilanader 10/14/2007 9:14:00 PM
Best eye cream I ever used. I will be turning 30 in a couple of months and I thought it is probably time to start using an anti-agingcream for the eyes (I probably should have started at 25 because of bad genes, fine lines, crows feet). The saleslady would not recommend any other cream for me except the Guerlain one. I really didn't want to buy this cream, I thought 60$ for 15ml is just silly but I'm glad I got pressured into it. This cream has made a huge difference in so little time. My eye area looks moisturized and healthy. My dark circles are less noticeable and so are my fine lines. I realize now that there is a difference between low and high end brands, I have used Biotherm and Clinique in the past but there was no difference between them and the nivea Q10 so I thought why bother paying that much. I don’t think I will go cheap when it comes to eye creams ever again. I now think this is the one area you should really invest your money in because it is simply the first part to age. The one thing I don’t like about this cream is that it absorbs super quickly before I even had a chance to spread it around so I end up using more of it. This is not a cream for people with wrinkles.

Treatments (Eye) -Marcelle - Moisture Cream Eye SPF 15
leilanader 3/5/2005 9:19:00 AM
I LOOOOOOVE this eye cream, all I wanted was a moisturizing eye cream with FPS of at least 15. I found one at Avon but it was gonna take time to ship so i decided in the meantime to find something else, and i found it in marcelle for HALF THE PRICE (only 10$ CND). First of all its a very sanitary tube not a jar like avon's and most other brands. Second it really does moisturize well. I was afraid that my makeup wouldn't hold but it was the exact opposite: since it's thick and not greasy it holds make up like glue plus it makes my eye shadows less powdery and more satiny and they stay on all dayyyy.Another plus is that it makes my dark circles whiter and therefor non existant, i used to have to apply eye concealer everyday before i got this cream. I can't imagine an eye cream that can beat this one. from packaging to price to effectiveness and all the other bonus benefits this is defenitly and eye cream that will not be leaving my daily routine for years to come.
