Conditioner -ENJOY - Sulfate-Free Hydrating Conditioner
lctirwin 3/16/2008 8:18:00 PM
I resisted this conditioner at first b/c of the price. I had forgotten that sometimes quality is more important. I broke down and bought it after Pantene (which I had used for years) started to make me itch, as well as the Jessicurl I bought. I went back and bought this product and oh my goodness, I love it. It makes my naturally curly/wavy hair shiny, soft, managable and lovely. Plus, it smells absolutely divine. I will continue to use this conditioner. Love it.

Fragrances -Stella McCartney - Stella Eau de Parfum Roll-On

What a gem this perfume is. I had wanted a roll-on perfume and tried this at Sephora. Oh my goodness, I put this on and I feel better. I have never experienced a perfume like this. The peony and roses are so lovely. And the price! 10 bucks! Though, I am sure by now it has gone up. No matter, I will be re-purchasing when this is gone, which won't be long. I find the lasting power to be perfect. This is a 5 star gem.

Blush -Revlon - Cream Blush in Rosy Glow
lctirwin 1/19/2008 6:46:00 PM
I had previously used the Berry Flirtatious Cream Blush, but found it was a bit too cool for me. After reading the reviews, I bought Rosy Glow. And that exactly is what this blush does, it gives your cheeks a rosy glow. Very natural looking and quite lovely. It takes a little practice to get the right application, b/c it is easy to end up with clown cheeks with this product. And the staying power is not fantastic. But this is a lovely blush and I think it would look quite nice on a variety of skin tones. UPDATE 4/15/08 I stopped using this blush when I looked in the mirror and saw freaking clown cheeks. I cannot apply cream blush correctly. My bad. Went back to Laura Geller Baked Berry Blush. Much better.

Palettes -Bobbi Brown - Best Sellers Lip Palette -2006-
lctirwin 11/10/2007 11:21:00 PM
Purchasing this lip palette was my treat this summer. I am not usually a palette person, but I have always wanted to try BB LS. This was a perfect start. My faves are Brown and Raisin, which I will repurchase when gone. These are all lovely colors and would look great on a variety of complexions. I like how they feel matte and stay on. Highly pigmented. The palette case itself is a drawback. I got some sand and lint in it from my purse. yuck. But I really like these and would buy more BB LS.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - MaMa Lotion [DISCONTINUED]
lctirwin 11/10/2007 10:57:00 PM
I have been using MaMa Lotion for almost 6 months now and absolutely LOVE it. Purchased, of course, due to MUA reviews. What it has done for my complexion is wonderful. I have not had a severe breakout since using this product. Blackheads have been banished or are pushed to the surface. Best yet for me, for the past few years, I have been getting ingrown hairs under my chin. I have had to keep concealer on that area for so long to cover up the ingrown hairs and marks they leave behind. OMG, since using MaMa, I have not had one ingrown hair! I ditched my Skinceuticals .5 retinol and this product is so much better, though I am faithfull to Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel. I love the pump dispenser, and after 6 months, I have barely put a dent in it. I do need to put a nice moisturizer on my face 15 min after application. When I started this product, I followed the directions completely. It does feel strong, but I do not mind the temporary stinging. I cannot recommend this product enough. Ten stars in my book. UPDATE 4/15/08 BOO! I have developed an allergic reaction to MaMa Lotion! Oh, the horror. My eyes sting and burn and become awful red (BTW I do not apply this stuff anywhere near my eyes!). Oh, I am sad, b/c this product did a wonderful job of exfoliating. But no longer. I think I cannot tolerate the acids. Oh, whatever shall I do? I'm at a loss. Farewell, MaMa Lotion. Beware, sensitive skin people. I would pass on this product.

Lotions/ Creams -Soap and Glory - The Righteous Butter
lctirwin 9/18/2007 4:20:00 PM
Oh my goodness, I am the first to review this amazing new product! I was in need of some Target therapy the other day and stumbled upon this new product, Soap and Glory. I bought the Righteous Butter because it smells heavenly. I have been smelling myself all day! I love this new product. Did a little research and found it is from the same creator as Bliss. Well, I love Bliss, but honestly, can't afford it. OOH, I love this! 15 bucks got me a huge tub of the body butter. It has only recently become available here in the states. Smells divine, is affordable and keeps my skin smooth. Did I mention I love it?

Lip Gloss -Avon - Glazewear in Chocolate Fling
lctirwin 6/22/2007 1:28:00 PM
I must say, I avoided Avon for years. But recently I have been buying their products and am pleasantly surprised. I first bought this lip glaze in the winter and thought, bleh. I did not like it. But yesterday, the first day of summer, I tried it again and loved it! Perfect for daytime use. A nice brown/pink with some shimmer. And, get this - it stayed on! Wow, sure sign of a winner. I think it is better on me when I have some color on my face. Perhaps in the winter it seemed too muddy and dull. But this is a lovely color that is easy to apply and lasts. Highly recommend.

Lips -Tarte - 24.7 Lip Sheer in Tuesday
lctirwin 6/22/2007 1:18:00 PM
After such bad luck with the Burt's Bees lip sheers, I thought I'd better bump it up a notch and try the tarte. I went to a Sephora, and they don't carry them in the store, The best place I found to see the colors was at tarte.com Since MUA rocks, I checked what colors others loved and decided on Tuesday. It feels wonderful on and has a nice minty scent. I really like this sheer plummy color. I think it is the most neutral color I could find in this product and would work well with a variety of skin tones. Perfect for work, or just running around. However, once I swirled it up, it won't go back down and product is getting stuck on the cap, unless I push it down with my fingers, and then it smushes out the sides. Hello packaging developers! For 14 bucks, this is terrible. Too much like Chapstick. But it looks, feels, tastes and smells lovely. So, there you go. Packaging sucks. Product rocks. UPDATE: A year later, I break this out again for summer. The Chapstick consitency and overall crappy packaging is forcing me to take a lippie off. Blech. But geez, the color is great.

Polishes -OPI - Magnifico Mexico
lctirwin 6/22/2007 1:06:00 PM
I bought this color online sight unseen based on reviews from this board, which are usually spot on. Love it! I had a pedicure done and the ladies were all "ooh and ahh' over this fun summer color. Now, I don't do nails. This was a whim. But I wanted a orange/red color and this is great. I can't stop looking at my pretty toes that gleam with a gold shimmer. As far as endurance, I hope it lasts for awhile, but who knows. Highly recommend this orange/red gold shimmer for summer shakin'

Lips -Burt's Bees - Lip Shimmer - Merlot
lctirwin 6/3/2007 8:10:00 PM
My first go with these was the Toffee color, which is a frosty lavender/mauve. Nothing like toffee! I returned and bought the Merlot. Yikes! Can you say fuschia! My goodness, this is a bright color. I may have to give up on these, which is a bummer because the price is right, they moisturize, leave a nice stain (if you can find a do-able color) and have a minty freshness. But really, these colors are horrible. I may need to bump it up a notch and try the Tarte lip sheers.

Lips -Burt's Bees - Lip Shimmers- Toffee
lctirwin 6/3/2007 8:05:00 PM
I REALLY wanted to love this. The price is right, so I can deal with the lame packaging. I love the mint flavor. And the product moisturized and leaves a nice stain. But my goodness, this is nowhere near a Toffee color. I agree with the previous reviewer. This is a frosty lavender/mauve color. I then tried the Merlot. Hello, can you say "Fuschia"? yikes. I am trying, but having no luck with these little shimmers.

Lipstick -Avon - Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Sheer Sangria
lctirwin 4/22/2007 11:52:00 PM
This is my first Avon lipstick and I love it. I bought it because JDempsey designed the new colors and it was half off! You can't beat that. What a great lipstick. It seems bright in my bathroom, but in daylight it is a perfect wine/berry sheer stain that is fabulous. It wears well and is very moisturizing. I have gotten many compliments on this lippy. Out of all the new sheer colors, this one seemed the most wearable for a variety of skin tones. Highly recommend.

Lipstick -Clinique - Different Lipstick - Shy
lctirwin 4/4/2007 10:09:00 PM
I re-discovered this wonderful lipstick by Clinique. I had stashed it with my millions of others and remembered what a great color this is for the spring/summer months. It is a perfect sheer pink/brown/plum that I love. It brightens up my face without seeming clownish. I agree with previous reviewers that this is a fantastic every day lipstick that works well with fair skin tones. I wear it to work every day, and even to my last teaching interview. It stays on well, leaves a light stain of color and feels soft and moisturizing. Highly recommend.

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - Lipgloss in Mystery
lctirwin 2/3/2007 11:46:00 PM
This is a great lipgloss from Smashbox. I love this color, which is a flattering brown/pink. I think this color would be very flattering on many skin tones and good for any season. It has great staying power and does not have that sheer gloss color, it is more like a very glossy lipstick. I much prefer the wand applicator. I can't stand to put gloss on with my fingers! It is 14 bucks, but that seems to be the going rate for a quality product. This is a keeper!
