Fragrances -Jo Malone - Vintage Gardenia with Cardamom and Myrrh
krissybug 3/6/2008 12:35:00 PM
I must confess that I have always been an intensley complex fragrance gal. With spring just around the corner, I have been desiring something simple and beautiful. I bought Chloe, a Saks exclusive, and I can't tell you how repulsed it made me as the day wore on. I have had my eye on Vintage Gardenia so Chloe was replaced by one large bottle of Vintage Gardenia and 1 small bottle of Pomegranate Noir. Gorgeous!!! I'm loving the fresh beautifulness of the Gardenia and when I am desiring something a little more intense, the Pomegranate Noir gives it that spicey, mysterious, sexy personality! Just a note, at first the PN does seem a little medicinal but that quickly passes. If anyone else has another favorite that they like the combine the Gardenia with, please write and let me know. I'd love the suggestions!

Fragrances -Narciso Rodriguez - body creme
krissybug 2/5/2008 8:54:00 PM
For some reason I just don't like this cream and I actually threw it out! Because of my encounter with the body cream, I hesitate to try the other body products. I do like the powder though.

Powders -Narciso Rodriguez - her powder brush
krissybug 2/5/2008 8:51:00 PM
This powder is amazingly beautiful. Both the EDP and EDT have a modern powdery note that is unlike anything I have smelled. It's soft and sensual. For Her powder is a light pink with shimmers and comes in a tube with a brush attached. A light dusting on my decollete leave a pretty shimmer with a whisper of fragrance. I save this for more private moments.

Fragrances -Narciso Rodriguez - Narciso Rodriguez for her EDP

Drop Dead Sexy!!! I find the EDP to have soft, flowery, sensual notes whereas the EDT is darker and sharper. Both are nice but I prefer this one!

Fragrances -Guerlain - Champs Elysees
krissybug 1/29/2008 12:36:00 AM
Champs Elysees reminds me of cotton sheets drying on a clothes line. It's fresh, clean, and soft. I can appreciate a fragrance from basically any time period but there is something about it that seems dated. I find myself uncomfortable when I wear the EDP that I own. Since it is not an "overnight sensation" I will hold on to it...who knows, I could love it tomorrow!

Fragrances -Creed - Fleurissimo
krissybug 1/12/2008 8:14:00 PM
I bought Fleurissimo about a year ago, returned it and purchased the more modern Love In White instead. I wear Love In White occasionally and even have been complimented on it, but to me, it seems "dry". My daughter wears Spring Flower exclusively and always has this beautiful fragrant aura surrounding her that peaks many people's interest and desire to know what she is wearing. I think one can appreciate the quality of a Creed fragrance most after wearing one and then returning to a main stream or designer fragrance. It is then that you will understand how synthetic many of the fragrances are today. I finally decided that Fluerissimo is my favorite. It's beautiful at first spritz but as the day wears on it becomes the most sophisticated floral I have ever smelled. It just suits my lifestyle, which is casual, and though it is light and fresh it is equally elegant and sophisticated. I like a fragrance that can be worn regardless of how I dress or what the occasion is. It smells lovely when I'm in jeans, on the courts, or a night out. EDIT: Oh my goodness! I have been wearing this fragrance for about a month and only occasionally wear something else. There is something so timeless about it. It's neither modern nor old fashioned...just a beautiful fragrance.

Fragrances -Lanvin - Rumeur
krissybug 12/19/2007 12:54:00 PM
I like this! It's so pretty and classy. I do understand the ad on the website because something about it is edgy. I've gone through many samples of this fragrance because everytime I have gone to purchase it, a SA seems to try to talk me out of it.) Unfortunately, the stores are now filled with SAs that are suppose to push a certain product. I find this very irratating and therefore don't really trust them as far as finding truely wonderful fragrances. I think if this product were to be campaigned in my area, it would be in top running. Rumeur last forever on me, I can still smell it the next morning and my goodness does it become pretty. EDIT: As of yet, I have not purchased Rumeur. I have decided to stick with the Narcisco that I own.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Eau De Parfum
krissybug 9/19/2007 9:14:00 PM
I actually loath this fragrance when I wear the EDP but for some reason I adore the pure parfum. I like the .25 parfum purse spray because the parfum inside stays untouched and clean since there isn't a stopper that touchs your skin everytime it's applied. It's easy to transport too because it's tucked safely in a leather pouch. Since so much has been written to describe MJ, I think I'll simply say that it is beautiful, classic, fresh, and quite lovely! Personally, I think musk based scents sit better with my chemistry then some of the others.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Violet

I was taken by this at first because it seemed cuddly to me. It wasn't true love but only a fleeting crush and I not only tired of it but became sickened by it. I tried spraying it on my laundry and my sheets so that it wouldn't be wasted but even that nauseated me. I couldn't open the bottle soon enough to dump the entire contents down the drain!

I purchased Kelly and actually returned it. Something about it seemed flat to me and unspecial.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia
krissybug 9/4/2007 2:05:00 AM
I knew nothing about the launch of this gorgeous fragrance until I discovered the ad in the September issue of Vogue magazine. I was intrigued since I've recently visited the island of Maui and Ms. Lauder's private collection smells just like Hawaii! I tested tuberrose and gardenia scents all over the island and everything I found seemed cheap and synthetic. The prettiest scent I found on Maui was Kai (a celebrity favorite) and though I bought a bottle, I wasn't really impressed (my daughter was happy when I gave it to her). I own both Marc Jacob's gardenia fragrances, the first I would describe as being "watery" and the second as "warm" and Chanel Gardenia which I would say is on the "green" side. Chanel's Gardenia is the most wearable to me out of the three but I don't think I have ever worn any of them for more than three days in a row. My craving for the perfect gardenia and tuberose scent had not been satisfied until now. Tuberose Gardenia is the beautiful white floral fragrance I have been looking for and I am so comfortable wearing it...it feels like an extention of my own skin! One poster described this as a "warm fragrance" which I can't say I agree with. To me it is smooth. The notes are balanced and complementary to one another and there isn't anything sharp or overwhelming here. I bought the parfum solid (for $175) and was given a couple of samples of the EDP. I have used both and though I usually prefer pure parfum I have to admit that the EDP is just as beautiful and I will soon own that as well. Now, as far as the three previously mentioned fragrances go, I will probably give them away soon because I don't think I can wear them after wearing TG. It's nice to be wearing something pretty and feminine again! I think both the fragrance and the packaging are award worthy. I am impressed with my little solid compact and the stones on the gold package are very classy. I haven't worn an Estee Lauder fragrance in about 15 years because they seemed too light for me but they have probably just created my signature scent.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere
krissybug 3/13/2007 2:23:00 AM
I'm 43 and I really like this foundation. I become somewhat shiney as the day progresses and that is why I have always stayed away from this foundation. I used Double Perfection which I now realized wasn't do me any justice as the look was too mat. Vitalumiere's coverage is great, it wears through the whole day, and the look of it is as true in the evening as when it was applied in the morning. I also think the pump was a great idea.
