Self Tanners -St.Tropez - Everyday Daily Moisturiser
rated 1 of 5

Really disappointed with this gradual tanner. I adore other St Tropez products (especially the bronzing mousse), but this was a waste of money. The colour was very weak and it came out streaky on me after the first use, and I am fastidious when it come to prepping for and applying fake tan. Sadly it's going in the bin.

Brows -NYX - Push-Up Bra for Eyebrow
rated 5 of 5

This is the only brow pencil I've ever liked! The pencil is sooo soft, it makes filling in my eyebrows easy and fast. The colour and soft, blunt, feathery strokes you get with the pencil all create a natural look (after all, there's nothing worse than harsh, drawn-on looking brows). For me, the colour of the highlighter is a little too peach toned to work as a highlighter, but it's still useful and makes a nice eyeshadow base.

Mascara -NYX - NYX Doll Eye Mascara- Long Lash
rated 4 of 5

This is a good mascara. It's not amazing, but it provides nice separation and length, is long lasting and doesn't smudge or clump - which is more than I can say for some mascaras that I've paid five times the price for. Perfect for a no-fuss, natural everyday look.

Moisturizers -Elizabeth Arden - Green Tea Energizing Moisture Lotion
rated 4 of 5
katiebaby87 8/21/2011 5:06:00 AM

Really like this moisturiser - I thought it might be a bit too light for my crazy dry complexion, but I've been using it daily for a couple of months and my skin is in really good condition. It's lightweight and non-sticky, and seems to sink into the skin and be absorbed very quickly. Love the scent too. Not a fan, however, of the glass packaging - it's heavy and slippery and fussy which makes taking it on monthly trips for work pretty annoying.

Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Pure Color- Rose Confetti
rated 5 of 5
katiebaby87 8/21/2011 4:34:00 AM

This is my all-time favourite, go-to neutral eyeshadow. It's very lovely and soft, perfect for everyday wear and great as a base and highlighter for my saturday night makeup. It's slightly pearly without being glittery like other neutral shadows (before this I was using urban decay's Grind which was quite similar, but a little too glittery for me). As with all the EL pure colour shadows it's easy to apply and long-wearing.

Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Praline
rated 4 of 5

I ordered this along with a bunch of other EL Pure Colour eyeshadows. The quality is great: smooth and silky texture, matte, dense color, and long wearing. I picked this shade thinking it looked like a good neutral beige for work, but unfortunately it's a little bit too warm for my colouring (I am pale with pinky-blue undertones). However, I passed it on to a friend with olive-tone skin and it looks fantastic on her :)

Treatments -Moroccanoil - Morrocan Oil Treatment
rated 5 of 5
katiebaby87 8/5/2011 11:39:00 PM

Well, I finally caved and invested in some Moroccan Oil. And I am SO glad I did!!! My hair is already naturally very thick, curly and unruly, but has been damaged and made even more unmanageable by years of coloring and daily straightening. I have tried many other de-frizz/hydrating/softening hair products and treatments, always with 'Meh' results. But, after using MoroccanOil for the first time, the difference in my hair is huge. After one use my hair was immediately softer, silkier, smoother and much much shinier, and much more manageable and easy to style than usual. I am really happy with the result I get from this product, and relieved that it wasn't just another big waste of money. One thing I was worried about is that my hair is naturally very oily (I have to wash every 2nd day unless I use dry shampoo), and I was concerned that using MO would make it become oilier even faster. I'm relieved to report this didn't happen! I also haven't noticed any build-up whatsoever, which was something that I was initially a bit paranoid about due to unpleasant past experiences with other treatments.

Eyeliner -Lancome - Artliner
rated 3 of 5
katiebaby87 7/2/2011 8:23:00 AM

First off, this eyeliner has a great formula: it's a striking, true black that glides on very smoothly and stays put all day and night (even on my crazy oily lids). One thing to keep in mind is that it's quite fast drying so you have to work quickly; for this reason I wouldn't recommend this for those trying liquid eyeliner for the first time. One thing I have to say is that I consider myself reasonably skilled at applying liquid liner but there is nooo way I would bother applying this from the tube (I use a mac 263 brush). I know that's contradictory to what most of the reviews here say, but for me the felt-style tip is not easy to control as it's quite long and bendy. Anyway, all in all this is a very decent, high quality liquid eyeliner. The price is a bit much though, I will probably look for something similar but cheaper instead of repurchasing.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rated 5 of 5
katiebaby87 5/27/2011 8:47:00 AM

Just had to throw my 2 cents in because I've been use seche vite topcoat for years: this stuff is truly the bomb diggety and the ONLY top coat I'll ever use. It is just so easy to apply, melds to the bottom coats flawlessly and dries in supernatural speed. Like other reviewers have noted: apply when bottom layers of polish are still wet and NEVER a thick coat.

Polishes -OPI - So Many Clowns...So Little Time
rated 5 of 5
katiebaby87 4/19/2011 5:45:00 AM

I've been wearing this shade non-stop since I picked it up as a replacement for my old go-to nude polish which was discontinued. This is a beautiful, subtle and classic colour. If I'm in a hurry I wear just a single coat for a sheer, glossy nude look, or I'll build it up with three coats for bold, creamy, opaque coverage. Either way it looks gorgeous. I guess due to its sheerness this has a thinner viscosity compared to other OPI polishes so keep in mind than application may take a little more time and care as it can get streaky/messy.

Polishes -OPI - Princesses Rule
rated 5 of 5
katiebaby87 4/7/2011 4:55:00 AM

I got this np as a gift, it's not the kind of colour I would normally pick up on my own but I freaking love it! Colour is a gorgeous, body-warm pink - the sparkles are very girly but still subtle enough for the workplace (and mine are nazis about that kinda thing.) Like all OPI nps the consistency is perfect, sooo amazingly easy to apply with a flawless finish.

Styling Products -Sebastian - Taming Elixir
rated 3 of 5
katiebaby87 3/24/2011 2:40:00 AM

As a styling product on dry hair, I like this stuff. Very light, completely non-greasy feeling and you just need a tiny bit to smooth your hair and give it some glossy definition. However, as a leave-in treatment (I smoothed through my wet hair before blowdrying as per the instructions) it had absolutely no effect whatsoever in controlling/reducing my frizz...just not good enough for the price IMO.

Mascara -ModelCo - Lash Extend Mascara in Bazaar Black
rated 1 of 5
katiebaby87 12/30/2010 9:21:00 PM

Have to agree with the reviewer below me - this is the worst mascara I have EVER used. Ugh. Why are modelco so inconsistent with their products?? I got this for christmas (came in a gift pack with the new turbolash wand, which is amazing btw) and oh man, it's just so horrible. Gives you cheap looking, clumpy, stumpy, tarantula lashes. YUCK. I applied to one eye before washing it off and throwing it straight in the bin.

Misc Beauty Tools -ModelCo - Turbo Lash Wand Heated Eyelash Curler (New Pink One)
rated 5 of 5

Fabulous lash curler, really comfortable to use (unlike others than pinch/are awkward). Beautiful result and the curl holds all day. Personally I find it works just as well when applied to bare lashes.

Brows -ModelCo - Eyebrowz Designer Brow Kit
rated 5 of 5
katiebaby87 11/16/2010 2:23:00 AM

Got a set of this in 'dark' as a birthday gift and I really, really like it. Tweezers are tiny but excellent quality and the powder and wax are both perfect shades for my brows. I have fair skin but with dark brown eyebrows, which unfortunately have started growing in a somewhat weird/patchy way, due an overzealous beautician waxing them away to almost nothing. Used together, and obviously applied sparingly and with a lot of care, they enhance and fill out my poor, mistreated brows to create a very natural look. I hate the harsh, fake look that you get with a lot of brow pencils, and this product creates a look that is soft and natural. The brushes are great, I'm really impressed by the quality. The stencils are definitely a bit weird though, don't think I'll be bothering with those. Overall I'm really happy with this product :)
