Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Stain Balm- Sweetheart
julieejuicee 6/26/2012 11:40:00 AM
I love this! I'm not a huge fan of lipsticks b/c my lips are forever dry and a few hours after I wear lipstick, my lips have flakes of color and it looks bad. I tried infallible lip colors and they also flake on me and are too drying. These balm stains are perfect for me. They last forever. You can layer on the product to make it more pigmented. They don't dry out my lips or make them look gross later in the day. If I apply balm afterwards, the color doesn't come off at all. And I love this color! I have darkish pigmented lips and the color comes out a nice hot pink, a little on the bright side, but I like it. I'd like to try others that are more wearable for every day, so I plan on buying more.

Hair Styling Tools -Conair - Infiniti Spin Air Brush
julieejuicee 6/24/2012 12:57:00 PM
I was looking for a new blow dryer but I came across this spin air brush instead. I thought it was just a gimmicky product that didn't work, but I looked up reviews and they seemed overall pretty positive. I got it on Amazon for about $40, which is a good price compared to other places. Anyways, I use this on my hair after I air dry/towel dry it, while it's still a bit damp. I have short-med straight-ish hair and I thought the brush was big and a little heavy, but it works so well! I could never figure out how to use a blow dryer and brush to straighten my hair, so I would usually just blow dry it and use a straight iron, which gave me mehh results and just does twice the damage. Just using this brush minimizes the damage since i'm just using heat on it once. After using this product for the first time, everyone at work told me how good my hair looked. It's pretty easy to use, a little scary at first haha but it takes some practice to learn all the different ways you could style your hair. It gives me results similar to a salon, so i'm really satisfied with this product. It's amazing! EDIT: I've been using this for awhile now, and it's my favorite styling tool. But I noticed that it does snag my hair a bit whenever I use it so it does cause some breakage, but not enough to deter me from using it.

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - HOOLA
julieejuicee 6/17/2012 12:56:00 PM
This is the first high end bronzer I have bought. I've tried other drugstore ones but they made me look either orange, glittery, or were too light so they didn't even show up on my face. It took me a longggg time to buy this because I just never spent so much on one makeup item before...but i'm so glad I did! It isn't too dark or muddy. I'm an Asian with a med-dark skin tone, so I was afraid it wouldn't show up on me... but it does, although it might be too light if I got any tanner. It's so smooth and a little goes a long way. I also use this to contour. It just makes me look so much better and my face looks healthier. It also looks great in pictures!

Primer/ Corrector -Peter Thomas Roth - Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel
julieejuicee 6/17/2012 11:01:00 AM
I'f I could i'd give this a 3.5, not a full 4. This stuff works fairly well. It keeps the oil away for a few hours, but doesn't last all day/night. It's a little weird though. I noticed if I use it with different types of foundations, it gives different results. With my Clinique Superbalanced, it didn't work well under my foundation, but worked well on top. On the other hand, it works really well under my Boots No. 7 Firming & Lifting foundation. Under my Pur Minerals powder, it makes my pores look bigger. But I guess overall, it does what it's supposed to do. It feels very nice and smoothing and hasn't broken me out. The bottle is teeny tiny, but i've been using it for 4 months and I still have a decent amount left. It is expensive, but I got it off Amazon at a cheaper price. Idk if i'd buy it for full price though. I don't love it, so i'll probably try out other mattifiers to see how they compare.

Liquid -Boots - Lifting & Firming Foundation SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]
julieejuicee 6/17/2012 10:47:00 AM
I love this foundation! I got it in the shade almond. I'm Asian and on the medium-dark side. The foundation is a tad light for my skin tone, but it blends so well it's not really noticeable. It has nice yellow undertones. It has such a nice finish! It's satin like and just looks so natural on my skin. I have combo skin, although lately my t-zone hasn't been as oily as usual. I use a mattifying gel underneath my foundation, and I find that I don't even have to use powder on top and I loveee how it looks without any powder. It gives me a nice glow. I only need one pump for my entire face, so I could see it lasting a long time for me. The coverage is medium I would say...I don't use concealer with this just because I like the way it looks on it's own. I like this foundation a lot more than any others i've tried recently! EDIT: I've been using this for awhile and it still hasn't broken me out. But since it's summer, I have to mix the shades walnut and almond together to get my tan shade.

Misc Beauty Tools -Japonesque - Mini Heated Eyelash Curler
julieejuicee 6/10/2012 11:06:00 AM
I've been using this for about a month now, and I really like it! It does go through a lot of batteries, but I always have spares on hand so it's not really an issue for me. You can tell when the battery is out of juice when the curler doesn't heat up as "hot" as it usually does. I have very straight lashes and I absolutely hate lash curlers because they ALWAYS pinch me and leave me with bent lashes. It was always such a hassle for me, so I quit curling my lashes all together. But this heated curler does a great job of giving me a nice, natural looking curl. The curl doesn't last forever, but the device is so small, I could carry it around in my purse if I wanted to and just touch up. It's not too hot because i've had it against my eyelid and it didn't hurt me, but I know different people are sensitive to different levels of heat so yeah...just depends on your eyes. I use it almost daily and I would probably buy another one if this one broke (hopefully it doesn't lol) and I got it for $18 at Ulta.

Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Studio Makeup Mist & Set Spray
julieejuicee 3/29/2012 2:09:00 PM
I didn't notice any bad smell like other reviewers, but i'm glad about that lol. I don't think this helps my makeup stay on any longer than it usually does, but it does help when I look over-powdered. But, I feel like if I put water in a fine mist spray bottle, it would do the same thing so eh. I don't use it that often either. Not one of my favorite ELF products. Edit: Never mind, I JUST noticed the smell. And it is bad. Smells like puke, I can't use it after I smelled that lol.

Concealers -Smashbox - High Definition Concealer
julieejuicee 3/27/2012 9:39:00 PM
This is my first high end concealer. I wanted to buy the Amazing Concealer, but it was too orange for me, so I saw this in my price range and gave it a try. It's smooth, and not hard to blend at all! I really like the consistency. I just needed it to cover acne scars, and I find that using my fingers didn't work that well, but using a brush works wonderfully. I thought my under eye circles weren't toooo bad, so I never concealed them, but after using this on them, I look so much better! lol. It doesn't make me look like i'm wearing concealer, it looks very natural. I like!

Lipstick -MAC - Freckletone lipstick
julieejuicee 3/10/2012 5:21:00 PM
This is the only MAC Lipstick I own, just because I don't really wear lipstick. I reallyyyy wanted a nude lipstick though, so I thought MAC would be a good place to start. I have warm med darkish yellow tones, and I find that a lot of lipsticks I try wash me out but I loveeee this lipstick! I want moar. I have very pigmented lips and this is kind of sheer on me, but with some nudey lip liner, it looks beautiful! My new fav!

Liquid -Sonia Kashuk - Perfecting Liquid Foundation
julieejuicee 2/26/2012 3:24:00 PM
I've been applying my makeup near a window lately so I can see what it looks like in natural light and OMG i've been using a color that's wayyyy off! Way too pink, and didn't match my skin color at all. I'm a medium dark Asian and I always knew I was yellow toned, but didn't really put that into account when looking for a foundation. I just bought whatever looked tan enough lol. Sooo, I researched and saw that this foundation was yellow toned and was a good price range for me. I tried Bamboo, and it fit my skin tone perfectly! It's light-medium coverage, depending on how many layers you put on. It has more of a dewy finish, but I use a mattifier underneath since i'm a little oily, but it still looks very natural and doesn't look like i'm wearing a heavy layer of makeup. I have quite a few dark spots on my face from acne and this doesn't cover it up much, but I use concealer for that so it's ok. This is very nice for evening out my skin tone though. It feels nice and light, not thick. There is a scent, but I don't mind it. I like this foundation a lot! Glad I found it. Finally something that matches my face :)

Lips -NYX - Soft Matte Lip Cream
julieejuicee 1/7/2012 4:06:00 PM
I bought a set of these on Hautelook on sale since I've always wanted to try them. I got Addis Ababa, Istanbul, London, Milan, and Amsterdam. I don't usually like using lipsticks because they dry my lips out, but these feel quite nice. I put them on after chapstick and apply chapstick over it so it's not drying. The colors tend to fade and aren't very long lasting. I have slightly pigmented lips, so the colors weren't as bold as I expected, but you can build color with a few more swipes. Overall, I do like these a lot more than other lip products I own, but you have to make sure your lips are moisturized or the colors will flake on you.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Extra Strength Hair Color Remover - Color Oops
julieejuicee 7/8/2011 12:21:00 PM
My hair is naturally dark brown, almost black...last year I dyed it a lotttt, just burgundy, black, other shades of brown, etc. I used this product last year and my hair turned out a bright orange brassy color, which I expected. Then I dyed over it with medium ash brown to make it light which worked fine, a little patchy but whatever. TODAY I used it again because I dyed it black for awhile and now i'm bored again so I wanted to lighten it up but the color oops didn't work at all? I left it on for the 20min and it just stayed the same color, black. Maybe I got a bad box, but yeah it's weird since it worked before!
