Lipstick -E.L.F. - Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink
rated 2 of 5
jessmarie09 5/14/2011 1:11:00 PM

Sorry I really wanted to love this color. Sounds like it should be amazing...baby pink, mineral based, creamy etc.. The problem with this product is that it is creamy but drying. It congeals on my lips and settles into the lines in my lips. The color is more of a grey milky pink, which looks dry and unflattering on my skin tone. The consistency is a bit gritty. All in all, it's a fail for me :o(.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
rated 2 of 5

I wanted to love this product really! So here's my quick review...smell: smells like burnt tires...awful! It irritates my eyes. I have been using this product for about 3 weeks on a daily basis AND since using it I suffer from daily eye irritation. I get these weird gloopy white residue in my eye. When I try to remove the gloopy I find flakes of mascara--cover girl mascara. I have never experienced this with my Lancome hypnose....never. This product is really awful, at least for my eyes. But, on a positive note, it is so cheap, I have no regrets tossing it out.

Lipstick -Neutrogena - MoistureShine Lipstick - Angel's Blush
rated 2 of 5
jessmarie09 2/27/2011 6:20:00 PM

I really wanted to love this lipstick. It looks so very beautiful in the clear plastic tube and contains spf. That is where my love ends. Let me just say for starters that I was very fortunate to buy this lipstick on sale for $5 because honestly it is grossly overpriced for a drugstore lipstick, and a poor one at that. Angel's blush is a slightly blue toned nudey pink lipstick with tiny flecks of shimmer. When applied, it looks glossy and feels creamy. However, the lipstick feels very gritty when you rub your lips together. The formula is ultra drying--despite the initial creamy texture--and I found myself have very chapped and flaky lips when using this alone all day. I decided after several weeks of use to discard the leftover lipstick because I grew to hate it. Also, the application of this is product is somewhat gloopy and uneven. Oh, I can go on and on....but I will stop complaining. Please don't waste your money on this lipstick..review OVER!

Blush -Stila - Marigold Convertible Color
rated 3 of 5
jessmarie09 2/19/2011 11:44:00 AM

Just to start off with saying...I really really wanted to love this product. I absolutely love love stila convertible colors. I have very acne prone skin and they do not break me out, they apply smoothly and blend very well. My issue with this bronzing duo is that it turns orange on me. The shimmery gold half when applied applies blotchy and streaky. Also, it looks like a dark rusty gold color on me which is not flattering. The matte brown half applies well but it turns orange on my skin. All in all, not a great product--for me. I was able to buy it cheap on the internet. If you want to try it out, just don't pay too much for it.

Lips -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Pure Shine #19 Heavenly Beige
rated 1 of 5

This review is for the slimy YSL Rouge Pure in #19-Heavenly Beige, which is a beautiful sparkly brown nude color in the tube. It smells like wonderful melons. It tastes sweet and delightful! It goes on sheer and greasy! Does not moisturize. Like adding shimmery gloopy grease to your lips. Very strange. Very expensive. Stay AWAY!!

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil - brown
rated 5 of 5
jessmarie09 1/30/2011 3:47:00 PM

This is an HG eyeliner for me. I use the brown color more than black! It glides on smoothly, it stays put pretty well (there is fading and some transferring during the day, but I expect that from all eyeliners. But No raccoon eyes!). The staying power is the best out of all the eyeliners I have used. I have repurchased this item time and time again. A notable Con is that it is easy to go through a pencil and they are very soft and smooth and you have to constantly resharpen. This is not comparable to 24/7 UD pencil....IT IS BETTER. I own 24/7 pencils and have swapped or thrown them away. I highly recommend. Also, note if you buy at CVS, I recently noticed a significant price change to almost $8!! Buy from Cherry Culture or from Milani online or Walmart for a cheaper price. They should retail for about $5.49.

Treatments -Infusium 23 - leave-in treatment for damaged/unmanageable hair
rated 1 of 5
jessmarie09 1/30/2011 3:33:00 PM

This review is for the "Infusium 23 with i-23 complex to nourish stressed and damaged hair step 3 leave-in treatment" in the silver 16oz container. I just want to be clear as I understand that Infusium makes a lot of leave-in formulas. This product was the worst for my hair. It actually dried it out and made my hair feel hard and like straw. I was in denial for the longest time until I decided to stop using it and my hair actually improved in texture and quality. I would not recommend for naturally dry curly hair.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
rated 3 of 5
jessmarie09 1/18/2011 8:22:00 PM

I received a sample size of the Badgal Lash mascara in black and plum as part of my VIB gift w/purchase at sephora. So, let me start with the positive. The formula is not ultra wet, which is a good thing because it does not transfer. I absolutely hate ultra wet formulas (ie. MAC mascara). Now for the rest of this review...badgal lash mascara is generally just bad. The formula does not lengthen or curl or volumnize. You pretty much get very natural looking lashes with a bit of depth from the added black/plum color. That's all. Nothing really special. For a department store product, I just expect something fabulous. That is why I gave it 3 lippies...it could be worse but it could also be tons better.

Eye Primer -BeneFit Cosmetics - Stay Don't Stray
rated 1 of 5
jessmarie09 1/17/2011 8:50:00 PM

I received a sample of this product from a VIB gift with purchase set. I never finished the sample (in the garbage) because I just hated the product. First, the smell. It has a horrible chemically smell--hard to describe but very industrial. Second, application--it is a very thick creamy concealer like formula that does not feel good when applying to the eye area. Third--after application--it itches! There is something very wrong about this product and I absolutely could not keep it. I would not recommended! If you are looking for a good eye primer try UDPP (urban decay primer potion) or for a cheaper dupe to UDPP try the elf eye primer (which I actually prefer to UDPP). Hope this review was helpful.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
rated 1 of 5
jessmarie09 1/16/2011 1:23:00 PM

I received a small sample of this with a VIB gift from Sephora. It is a candy pink colored liquid. It smells like chemicals...not pleasant at all. I really tried to work with this product. I tried using it on my lips and cheeks. I really don't get this product. I suppose it is supposed to be a stain of some sort. Does not really show on my skin (NC 42 MAC as a reference). Also, it stings when I try to use it as a lip stain. I really don't like this product and actually threw the sample in the garbage after trying to work with it for several months. Hope this review was helpful.

Lipstick -E.L.F. - Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph
rated 2 of 5
jessmarie09 1/6/2011 8:29:00 AM

I thought this would make a nice nude but against my MAC NC 42 skin, this lipstick literally looked like white-out. It was hilarious. There is just no way for me to pull this lipstick off. The texture, quality and packaging are all very nice so I still may purchase more ELF mineral lipsticks. This color however is all wrong. If you have tanned skin, stay away.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational 165 Pink of Me
rated 1 of 5
jessmarie09 1/3/2011 2:25:00 PM

Sticky, the color is a plumy pink which does not work for my skin tone, difficult to apply, etc. $9 in the garbage! I would not recommend because the texture is all wrong, the application is difficult and its not worth the money.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
rated 3 of 5
jessmarie09 12/30/2010 10:25:00 PM

Yes, I gave into the hype and tried the aspirin mask. I purchased the BC powdered aspirin from the drugstore and tried it out with some honey and a bit of water. I find it to be an excellent exfoliating mask. However, it has not cured my acne troubles. I will continue to use it on a bi-weekly basis (2x a week) and will post an edited review if my opinion changes.

Highlighters -LORAC - Perfectly Lit Oil-Free Luminizing Powder in Spotlight
rated 5 of 5
jessmarie09 12/30/2010 9:56:00 PM

There is something amazing about this highlighting powder. It is very difficult to describe. Let me first say that I have many highlighting products including Nars albatross, Nars copacabana cream stick, mac soft and gentle, mac light over dark, mac stereo rose, etc. And this one stands out as the best highlighting product of them all. It does not have any glitter or shimmer but gives the skin this wonderful surreal luminescence. Absolutely beautiful and perfect for work and everyday wear. I have been using daily for about a month. I would definitely recommend and repurchase. Also, I have very acne prone skin and this product has NOT broken me out!!! Love it!
