Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Lift and Strengthen intensive eyelift, Reviving

They repackaged this eye cream...and for some reason the tube I had was separated and watery. I've already been through 3 tubes of the original product and LOVED it. Like the reviewer above, I noticed a big change in my eye area after I stopped using it. I'm going to the store right now to try another tube and get the Olay Pro-X eye cream as well. It is a bit more expensive...but much less than the $250 La Prairie eye cream I like - with better results! :)

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Makeup Dissolving Foaming Cleanser
rated 5 of 5

I love that I can use this in the shower and it removed all my makeup, including waterproof eye makeup without much smudges. It also doesn't dry me out or irritate my sensitive skin. When I want more benefits, I just use my other cleansers afterward....great stuff and cheap.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment

Wow. My hands have been extremely dry and chapped (even in this hot, humid weather) from being pregnant and excessive hand washing. Dry to the point where they look wrinkly and flaky! Last night it was getting itchy, so I put this on (it never dawned on me to use this)...today my hands are at least 75% better and I like that its filmy, but not overly so like Vaseline. It's cheap, multi-purpose and comes in a little tube. Perfection. EDIT: Also works great on the hairline when coloring. I love this tube!

Cleansers -Aveeno - Moisturizing Bar
rated 5 of 5
jennstarr 4/10/2009 2:52:00 AM

While I love fancy face washes, most of them leave me with itchy red skin. Since I've been pregnant, my skin has been super oily, acne prone, dry surface and sensitive. Fun. After having a reaction to sunscreen (great) I got this to possibly help with the itchiness. It has oat flour, so the lather is minimal and almost like a lotion cleanser. But in a few days my skin was balanced, clear and comfortable. I've been successful with bar soaps (Cetaphil), so I'll probably be sticking to these cheap, unsung heroes. I bought a cute little soap dish to make them a little more appealing!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Longs Daily Face Wash
rated 5 of 5
jennstarr 3/12/2009 2:48:00 AM

I found this at Longs Drugs as a close out item. It cost me $2.19 for a large tube (regular price was $4.19). It is the best face wash EVER. Its like the knock off version of the Clearasil face wash that I've also tried and like. But at $2.19 this is a steal...Its better than the ZO Skin Health cleanser I was using which cost $50. It foams, it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin or make it dry. My skin has been close to flawless since I added this to my skin care arsenal. Its also in a tube, which I like. Since it was so cheap I bought 3 tubes and will probably stock up on few more since it seems like this will be discontinued.

Treatments -Christian Dior - Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Nighttime Soft Peel
rated 5 of 5
jennstarr 3/7/2009 2:52:00 PM

I can see how this product would be confusing and the price is a bit daunting ($85 for only 3.4fl.oz.). It is meant to be used like a toner and is recommended for nightly use. Adjusting the application frequency for your skin type (every other night or once every three) is probably a good idea too. I have sensitive, mild acne prone, sun damaged, combination skin. I have a hard time keeping my skin balanced ~ it is always either too oily or too dry. I've been using the Capture 60/80 XP (not XR) serum AM & PM for the last 2 weeks and I love it. I still had flaky parts on my forehead and chin, and this product cleared it up in two nights. My skin is glowing and smooth ~ no breakout or irritation. I just put a bit on a cotton pad and use like a toner, concentrating on my problem areas. That said, I would NOT buy it for $85. I will however, continue to buy it on eBay if I can find it there. EDIT: Five days later and I still love this. My husband even commented on how clear and radiant my skin looks!

Treatments -Christian Dior - CAPTURE XR 60/80 Extra-Vital Restoring Serum
rated 5 of 5
jennstarr 2/28/2009 11:16:00 PM

This is for Capture R60/80 XP Ultimate Wrinkle Serum...which is the most recent reformulation. It is not the XR formula. It was $120. This is a wonderful formula that I've seen noticeably smoother, clearing, more radiant skin after about a week of AM & PM use. I use La Mer over it at night and Ren Radiance Day Lotion in the day. I'm not sure if I believe you can plump a wrinkle once its there, but since I only have fine lines, this has made a big difference. It is very lightweight, has a pleasant scent and does not give me a rash or break outs.
EDIT: Still LOVE this serum. Skin gets better and better everyday. It seems to boost the effects of my Skinceuticals serums too. I switch around my AM and PM moisture products depending on my skins needs...but this has been a staple. So far its the best serum I've used.

Treatments -L'Oreal - Skin Genesis Pore minimizing Skin Re-Smoother
rated 4 of 5
jennstarr 1/28/2009 9:55:00 PM

I have sensitive skin and this did not irritate me at all. But it did start to minimize my pores and worked well as a primer as well. I use it over my Skinceuticals serums in the AM and PM. I notice if I wait about 30 minutes after I wash my face before applying my skincare, it minimizes irritation. I would recommend this product for most skin types.

Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer in Light to Medium
rated 5 of 5
jennstarr 1/28/2009 9:47:00 PM

What a great product from Physicians Formula. This bronzer is actually better than the Guerlain Tan Booster formula - its more golden (not orange or red) with just the right amount of sheen. The texture is very much like dept. store brands - smooth, easy to blend and doesn't change color. Even the packaging doesn't look cheap. It is $15, which isn't CHEAP, but its worth every penny.

Mascara -Max Factor - 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
jennstarr 1/13/2009 10:06:00 PM

I really like this as my top coat mascara (I use YSL Everlong WP as my base). L'oreal Beauty Tubes is my other favorite, but this one is like Lash Blast, but way less clumping. Doesn't smudge, really gives a full lash look.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
jennstarr 1/13/2009 9:52:00 PM

($45 pump bottle) - I was reluctant when a Dior gal offered me a sample of this foundation...while I love their powder foundations, their liquids always fell short for me. But she insisted, so I took the samples and went home. As a makeup addict, I tried the samples the next day when I went to lunch with my best friend. We both come from cosmetic backgrounds, so when she told me my skin looked "really good", I was shocked.
The texture is between a liquid and a cream - which can seem like it would apply heavily. I used my finger tips and blended it into my skin - and it literally looked like skin. The only other foundation that does this for me is Armani Luminous Skin Foundation. What makes this better is the color (I tried 030 (a medium peach beige) and 031 (a medium yellow beige)) and I can use them both - I blend the peachy beige in the middle of my face and around the eyes and the yellow beige on the rest of my face. It has a medium coverage, doesn't accent fine lines, dryness or pores. It wears comfortably all day and doesn't give me a rash or break outs.
A sure winner from Dior. I'm looking forward to trying the loose mineral powder from Dior over this.

Cleansers -Obagi - ZO Skin Health 'Offects' Exfoliating Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
jennstarr 1/10/2009 2:23:00 AM

I'm about 3/4 done with my first tube, and I love this cleanser. I use it in the PM (I use the Belli cleanser in the AM) and it really makes a big difference in my skin. I use Skinceuticals products (right now) and my skin is smooth and clear without irritation and break outs. Worth every penny.

Treatments -Skinceuticals - Phyto Corrective Gel
rated 4 of 5
jennstarr 1/7/2009 12:22:00 AM

1/6/09 - I love this product! It really calms my skin (I have red cheeks and prone to irritation) and doesn't make me greasy or breakout. Personally, I like the dropper so I can just use what I need. Its important to make sure you have the Phyto Corrective Gel and NOT the Phyto+ (which has kojic acid and arbutin) - there's a huge difference in the formulas but are easily mistaken for each other (they're both green). I can use this alone as a moisturizer (I use the Phloretin CF first in the AM) and it didn't make me itchy or greasy (more than normal). I will update with future results, but so far I'm impressed. I'm also going to start using it on my neck and chest.
Edit (6/3/09): Still think this is a great product, but stopped using it about half way through. I don't combine active products together, and I've been using the RX for Brown Skin Radiance Serum and the Phloretin CF (PM and AM respectively). I did not see enough result from this regarding pigmentation.

Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Dylan's Candy Bar Ice Cream Sugar Scrub in Chocolate Cupcake
rated 4 of 5
jennstarr 12/28/2008 2:44:00 PM

Yum. I personally think this scent is to die for. I've tried tons of chocolate body products (I'm obsessed with foodie scents!) and this is by far the most authentic. It smells like chocolate frosting...which is different then say, a cup of cocoa or a bar of dark chocolate. My husband even liked it and commented that it didn't smell fake. The texture is very "ice cream" like, dense and rich with a moisturizing base. It has pumice and jojoba beads which are nice and gentle, though I prefer a bit more SCRUB. However, I can use it more frequently and often do so because it smells so yummy! I also love the body butter and plan on getting the other products in this line!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Belli Acne Clearing Facial Wash
rated 5 of 5
jennstarr 12/6/2008 12:05:00 PM

I love this cleanser. After researching extensively online about pregnancy safe skin care, this is the only line that is Dr. formulated with ingredients that are pregnancy safe. After removing about 90% of my current products (I have oily, slightly blemish prone skin, so everything I had has no-no ingredients), I made a 20 mile drive and purchased two of these.
Love. Its not heavily scented, foams well enough, doesn't strip my skin, but has kept it clear and smooth. I gave a tube to my sister who is suffering from stress breakouts - so I'll have to update about that. She commented that it didn't leave her feeling clean, but she's used to heavy foams that leave squeeky clean skin. But I told her to stick with it.
I will say that it probably isn't a great makeup remover, but I use my Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil first when I need to.
This is my current HG cleanser and I'm sure I'll be using it longer than the label will apply to me!
