Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast Haze Of Love

This color is absolutely perfect for fall. Its a deep burgundy color with hints of purple and the formula is long lasting and the finish is super shiny! There's no shimmers and the formula is soo creamy! My brush was a bit ragged, but I can live with it. I've attached photos for reference :)

Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Mild
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 9/29/2012 7:07:00 PM

My skin is oily, sensitive and acne-prone. During my teen years, I had large, cystic acne and used products that were targeted for acne-proned skin. Little did I know that these harsh acne washes and treatments caused my skin to weaken, become sallow, and worsen the overall condition of my skin. Once I started switching to the gentle route, that is when my skin changed completely. I use the dry-combination version of this product, and it never dried my skin out. It foams very nicely, and it pretty affordable for a mild, basic cleanser. The difference between this version and the oily-combination version would have to be the menthol. I loathe when companies think the best thing for oily-skin people is to put menthol on their face for that "tingly" feeling as if they are clean. Menthol is such a harsh irritant, that the oily-combination version should not even be labeled as "mild". Therefore, I use the dry-combination version every single morning. I also recommend Clean and Clear sensitive skin foaming facial and CeraVe foaming facial wash. Back to basics everyone! EDIT: People of MUA, this stuff stings your eyes. I had to wash my eyes out for several minutes because it stings soo badly!!! Definitely not a "mild" soap like the name suggests.. :(

This doesn't make my hair feel sticky like other heat protectants. And a friend of mine in class always asks what "perfume" I'm wearing whenever I use this :) overall, a nice product at a great price!

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Daily Scrub
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 9/13/2012 11:30:00 PM

I bought this product because I wanted a gentle, yet effective daily scrub. I have sensitive, acne-proned skin, yet I love to exfoliate. Onto the product: since I have an extremely oily t-zone area and dry cheeks, I decided to go with this product because it claims to control shine for 8 hours. Now, for myself, I think it controlled the shine for about 2 hours at most, so it was ineffective in that area. I do, however, like this scrub because it is less harsh than the St. Ive's apricot scrub, but it does the job every morning. There is a bit of menthol in it, which I do NOT like. menthol is known to irritate sensitive skin and actually increase oil production. Manufactures put menthol in their products to make consumers "feel" like they're getting the deepest clean as possible from the product. But, I would have preferred to omit that ingredient, if I had the choice. Overall, it's not the best scrub I've tried, but it certainly hasn't broken me out. I'm already done with half the tube, and so far, it's done a good job exfoliating my skin. I would repurchase only if there is a coupon or a sale going on. Edit: The product does not advertise this, but there is Salicylic Acid in it. I am very sensitive to S.A., so therefore I cannot repurchase. I wish Neutrogena didn't have to add SA or BP to their products. The only one I could think of is their Naturals scrub..

Liquid -Kat Von D - Lock-It
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 8/30/2012 1:59:00 AM

First off, the swatches online are not what I thought it would be. I am naturally a MAC NC40-42 and I wear the color Beige in Benefit's Oxygen Wow foundation. I chose Medium 62 because the description of the product is a medium/golden complexion with yellow undertones. When I received it in the mail, it did not look medium/golden. It was very, very tan. I would say it would be appropriate for an NC45. I tried the product just to test it out and it is very opaque. It gave me a nice "fake" tan for a bit lol. I needed an oil-based makeup remover to take it off. But a couple of makeup wipes and washing with my Clarisonic finally removed the pigment. I am going back to return this shade and possibly order Medium 54 instead. Love the coverage, I just ordered the wrong color. I wish Sephora would have swatches with natural light and synthetic lights and put it online...

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
rated 2 of 5
jellybabe23 7/31/2012 12:50:00 PM

This is like a watered down version of the DW original. I suggest to buy the original DW, mix it with your favorite moisturizer and make DW light. Then use original DW to conceal. Color match is horrible too. Very cool/pink tones. Not enough for us warm-toned ladies. I felt like I was at the drugstore with all these pink toned selections. :(

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Duo Brush-On Striplash Adhesive
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 7/26/2012 1:29:00 PM

I love this product. It doesn't smell like fish like the old Duo lash lash glue in the tube. I originally had that one and would gag everytime it got near my nose. But this lash glue is great. Though with these tube-type of glue, the glue CAN dry up on the insides of the entrance of the tube, you just gotta clean it up right after using it, so it's not a big deal. It lasts a really long time. I went out for dinner and dancing from 8pm-4am (aha!) and it lasted the whole time.

Masks -Freeman - Facial Enzyme Mask Pineapple
rated 2 of 5
jellybabe23 7/25/2012 3:58:00 PM

I would have bought the old version of this product. however, im assuming due to materials expenses, the quality of the product has gone down significantly. I've attached a photo of the INGREDIENTS LIST of the old pineapple mask (left) and the new one (right) and I would like someone to complain to freeman because the old version had better quality ingredients and real pineapple extracts listed in the top 3rd of ingredients. Instead of putting great quality ingredients (old version) into your skin, you are now putting harsh chemicals (new version). WOW.

Styling Products -Suave - Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream
rated 5 of 5
jellybabe23 6/27/2012 12:23:00 PM

This is a great smoothing/anti-frizz cream for a fraction of what I usually pay for these types of products. I recently started letting my hair go natural for summer because I don't want to use too much heat on my hair during the summer months, so I picked this up. Now, the products itself is very silicone-feeling so it will really tame that frizz during rising temperatures. There are micro shimmers in the product, to, I don't know, add a glow to your hair? To be honest, i have tried this before blow drying and it works better than some high end products. I've just started putting a huge dollop in my hair while it's damp and letting it air dry and my hair is sooo shiny, silky and definitely soft to the touch. I will definitely keep repurchasing because it's great quality for the price.

Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - "Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 6/12/2012 8:16:00 PM

I bought this when I needed to find a summer foundation. I'm an NC40-42 and I wear this in Beige. Now, I've tried this both with and without a primer and without one, this product take forever to blend. It doesn't dry to a matte finish, it is very dewy. With a primer, the product provides better coverage and is very nice and light for summer. It doesn't provide full coverage, only light to medium. I would use it only for summer though because I prefer fuller coverage foundations.

Masks -LUSH - Cupcake Mask
rated 5 of 5
jellybabe23 6/10/2012 3:17:00 AM

So I caved in and bought this product due to many raves and reviews on Youtube. The first thing I noticed about this product is obviously the smell of it. Some say it's like cake batter, but to me, it smells like mint chocolate chip cookies because of the cocoa butter and spearmint oils in it. Second, the main clay ingredient is Rhassoul Clay, which is used in high-end spas and is supposedly the smoothest and most luxurious type of clay you can use. I can attest to this because I've tried Kaolin clays, Bentonite clays, and french green clays, and this is by far the nicest feeling clay I've come across. Now, because it's made fresh without any preservatives, I had to use it within 3 weeks of purchase. I actually used it up within a week before I went on vacation because I wanted my skin to look its best while I was away. So I used it everyday for a week, applying it with a foundation brush all over my face to the cleanest application. I kept this in my fridge and I must say, after a long day of work and school, this is a wonderful treat. I would keep it on for at least 20-30 mins and rinse and apply a basic moisturizer. After using this for a week, I can say that it has really unclogged my pores and made my face look and feel smoother. I actually look forward to putting this on at night! At about $7 USD, I definitely think it is worth a try. I will purchase it again a week prior to a big event for my skin to look and feel its best.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aztec - Indian Healing Clay
rated 5 of 5
jellybabe23 5/31/2012 3:53:00 AM

I wanted to start making my own masks after using Lush's cupcake mask which is made fresh when you buy them. So when I saw this product, I grabbed it and immediately tried it the night I bought it. I followed the instructions which is to mix equal parts of powder and ACV, but I felt it to be a little too watery as a mask. I like thicker masks because it feels really luxurious. So my next batch was with a little more powder. I'm used to powerful gunk-sucking masks so the pulsating feeling was not surprising. I left it on longer than 30 mins, probably around 45 minutes, and after washing it off (continually splashing with warm water) my face was bright red and irritated. I immediately put moisturizer and fell asleep. The moment I woke up, the 3 huge cystic pimples on my face had finally come to a head, which I was delighted of seeing because for 2 weeks, they were under my skin (the horrible types that you can't pop). This truly is a powerful mask for what it has done. I'm using this again as I type and adding tea tree oil to combat the smell of the ACV. (I weirdly love the smell of tea tree oil) but many reviewers below me have complaints of the excrutiating smell, which is coming from the ACV. If you are having trouble with that, I suggest to put a few drops of essential oil (I love orange essential oil) to make the mask smell good, or even cocoa powder and a bit of cocoa butter will make it smell like Lush's cupcake mask :) Overall, I love the DIY aspect to this mask and how thick or thin you can make this product. Since I have super acne proned skin, I'm using this no more than 2x a week. Highly recommended. Oh BTW don't watch funny youtube videos while wearing this mask! It will hurt! hahaha

Foundations -BeneFit Cosmetics - Play Sticks
rated 5 of 5
jellybabe23 5/18/2012 4:21:00 AM

I bought this product after wanting a new foundation. I've been using studio sculpt by MAC for a very long time because the color match was so good (NC42) and it left a nice, satin finish. Well, the benefit play sticks are also satin-type to semi-matte finishes and cover so well. The way I use it is by taking the stick and putting 3 streaks across each cheek, one one my forehead, nose and chin and blend away. This foundation blends so well! It's the type of foundation I can use in 5 minutes, and I'll have full natural looking coverage. I use the color jump rope and it matches my NC42 pretty nicely, except, it does have a slight pink undertone to it. If I need more coverage on certain areas, I will go back and put a seconds layer and pat the product as I would with a concealer. Even though it is pricey for a stick foundation, it is worth it, as the product is easy to travel with, does not require brushes(unless you want to of course) and it has ingredients that are supposedly good for your skin. Downfall is that there are only 4-5 shades, I believe, so not everyone will have a match. Would definitely recommend.

Lips -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Balm
rated 5 of 5
jellybabe23 4/29/2012 5:39:00 PM

I bought this product after seeing plenty of reviews. I own 4 of the Revlon Lip butters and I didn't think I would need to purchase L'oreal's version. But after passing by L'oreal's Le Balm over and over again, I decided to purchase at least one to try out. I have Nourishing Nude and as an NC40-42, it's a perfect nude on me. It feel very nice, like a lip balm and doesn't dry my lips out. It doesn't last very long, but I'm the type of person who likes reapplying my lip products to keep them looking fresh. I really like the color selection, as it is not too crazy. Most colors are very work/school appropriate whereas Revlon's colors are very bright or very dark as opposed to the neutral shades the L'oreal line has. I'm going to purchase more, seeing as I use this product more often than my Revlon Lip butters!

Liquid -Smashbox - Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Fdt.
rated 3 of 5
jellybabe23 4/10/2012 11:08:00 PM

My initial thoughts on this product was that i is so similar to MAC's pro longwear, even the smell of it. However, it covers less than pro longwear. That being said, it is a light to medium coverage foundation. If you try to add more, it will definitely look cakey. I use the color 2.2 because it is very yellow based and I am currently an NC37-40. It's very sticky but it dries super fast, so you have to work with it right away. I set the product with a powder because of the stickiness it leaves behind. Oh and the product really stays on your skin! When I wash on my makeup, first with a regular cleanser, then with the clarisonic, usually im not left with any makeup on my brush, but I still see some of this foundation on it if I use this foundation that day. Overall, a 3 because the coverage is so-so.
