Treatments (Eye) -Origins - GinZing

In the past year my skin (especially the skin around my eyes) has become very sensitive so I am on the hunt for a new eye product that can help with the usual puffiness, dark circles (don't know if that one is possible) fine lines and be gentle at the same time. This was not the product as after the second time I used it my eyes started to itch and were watery all day. I think most people wouldn't have this issue but if you are sensitive to products this may not be good. It did artificially brighten my eye and didn't seem to affect the moisture of the skin around my eye so makeup went on easily enough. I can't really comment on if it would reduce puffiness over time but I did not see any reduction in the two days I used this but it may be because my skin was sensitive to the product.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Body Double Mist in Candy, Baby
rated 5 of 5
jdmcgi2 11/26/2012 10:19:00 PM

I love the candy baby beauty rush mist. It smells just like cotton candy or sugar. I tried the pink sugar fragrance and hated it...it smelled burnt and gave me a headache. Candy baby smells the way I wanted pink sugar to smell. It is very sublte but still lingers on your skin so it isn't super strong. Lasts almost all day on my skin and my boyfriend told me I smelled extra yummy with it on. Overall great body mist that's good for casual days when I don't want a strong perfume. I will repurchase when I run out.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel

Way too much patchouli scent in this for my taste. Overall it's a good quality fragrance that lasts a really long time on your skin. Even after showering I could still smell this stuff on me. (Good if you like the smell...bad if you don't) I actually tried to use water and dab it off my neck the first time I used it because it was too strong. My boyfriend thought it smelled like pumpkin spice or pie for some reason but it smelled like my grandma's perfume to me. Glad I only had a small sample bottle.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Charcoal Brown
rated 3 of 5
jdmcgi2 11/17/2012 4:56:00 PM

I have neutral skin tones that sometimes lean more warm or cool depending on the day and this eye shadow is way too cool toned for me. I've tried using it but I always looked drab and tired once it's applied no matter how I do it. I only use it to cool down eye shadows that are too warm in my crease now. Overall this has a good texture and would probably be a great basic brown for those with cool toned skin. I sometimes am NC20/25 or MUFE 118 for reference.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 3 of 5
jdmcgi2 11/4/2012 5:53:00 PM

I really expected this eyeliner to stay in place all day...I mean it is called 24/7 eyeliner afterall and they claim it will stay in place all day. I have to agree with a previous reviewer. This eyeliner stayed on my eyes 4 hours max. After 4 hours it was all over the place including under my eyes. I would have given it only one lippy except it is really creamy, easy to apply and black so the formula is a dream just doesn't stay on eyelids long. This eyeliner would be perfect for those with dry to combination eyelids but if yours are super oily like mine this won't work. Glad I recieved a deluxe sample with a palette some time ago and didn't buy this.

Self Tanners -Lancome - Flash Bronzer Tinted Leg Gel
rated 5 of 5
jdmcgi2 11/1/2012 11:12:00 PM

I love to use this bronzer over a spray tan or at home after I use a sunless tanner that didn't quit get me as dark as I like to be sometimes. This just adds that extra glow and color that I need and no need to wait a long time for the color to develop. It doesn't look orange and can be used by itself as well to give a see through glow when not using other self tanners. It's moisturizing and blends well when rubbed in but it isn't fool proof on hands and feet if you don't have a base color in my opinion....but then again the only self tanners I can get to look right on my hands and feet are spray tanners. Takes a little more than a few minutes to dry but still not long although I wouldn't recommend wearing white after applying. It does give a little sparkle that illuminates your skin and has a light floral scent that smells nice and isn't overwhelming. It is a little expensive but I don't use it very often. I only sunless tan on occasion due to sensitivity to sunless tan formulas.....they all make me break out if I use them all the time.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Hand Salve
rated 2 of 5
jdmcgi2 11/1/2012 10:17:00 PM

I am not a fan of this product. It doesn't absorb into your skin ever or do much to protect and heal. I had really dry hands that were beginning to crack so I thought I would give this a try. First of all the packaging is cute but can be a little difficult to open and apply. Second it smells and acts like a mixture of vasaline and vick's vapor rub. The smell also never seems to go away. I made the mistake of applying this in my car the first time and since it didn't absorb I had a greasy menthol mess literally on my hands and all over my car from where I had to touch things to drive. My car smelled like menthol for two days after that. Next time I applied it before bed and waited an hour to absorb but it never did so I just washed it off. My hands felt a smidgen softer but still sore. I guess you could slather this on broken skin and then cover it with a band aid or gloves at night to help things heal but personally it made broken areas on my hands more red and itched a little. I think there are better or cheaper alternatives out there so I won't try this again.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion
rated 2 of 5
jdmcgi2 10/23/2012 11:34:00 PM

This blush majorly clashes with my skintone or something. Everytime I try to use this anywhere on my face it ends up lookng ashy and washes me out completely. I look like I have pastel pink chalk all over. I first tried it when I was tan and didn't like it but thought it may look better once I was back to being pale and fair skinned again since so many people have said it looks good on lighter skin but even when I am lighter this still looks like chalk and all wrong. I'm so glad I had a free deluxe sample and didn't buy the full size. Now that I know I can't use this when I am fair or tan I am giving it away.

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection
rated 4 of 5
jdmcgi2 9/25/2012 12:08:00 AM

I love the large brush on this mascara! The formula also really thickens my eyelashes and somewhat lengthens them without completely making the curl fall out. The formula is a little dry and can flake a little but overall I could get a few hours of wear without it being under my eyes. This is supposed to be a tubing mascara but I personaly don't think it really acts like one. I need waterproof tubing mascara for a full day and use d.j.v beautenizer tubing mascara on most days but every now and then I will use this if I know I only need it for a little while. I don't use it very often because of this. More than a few hours and it can be under my eyes a little. I wish my go to mascara had the same brush lash injection does because it is the best in my opinion.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - That Gal
rated 4 of 5
jdmcgi2 9/8/2012 6:09:00 PM

I had a sample size of this product to try so I can't comment on the packaging but overall this was a decent product in my opinion. I wouldn't purchase it again because when I am super pale or not that tan the color can make my face look a tad bit pink or orange so I think I would like this product better if it was clear or not pigmented. I have only tried a few primers in the past and have found that they don't work at all but this one really did make my makeup last all day...and I sweat alot when I work somedays! I just wish it wasn't pigmented....I'm not sure dry skin would like this but combination to oily is probably ideal. I will say that this did not luminate my skin at all. It did before I put on foundation but after that all shimmer/ luminating qualities were gone. This primer has made me want to try other primers out there.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - j'adore
rated 3 of 5
jdmcgi2 9/8/2012 1:25:00 PM

Nice floral that is not overbearing. Smells really good but I can only smell it on my skin if I put my nose right up to it otherwise it gets lost. I don't think others can smell this at all on me unless they are smelling my skin. Therefore good for office settings at least for me.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
rated 2 of 5
jdmcgi2 8/26/2012 7:23:00 PM

I smelled this years ago when it first came out and loved the smell out of the bottle and when first sprayed because it's sweet and does smell like cotton candy. I didn't buy it at first because i was after something else at the moment but thought I would purchuse this later. Months then years went by and I kind of forgot about it until I was given a sample a few months back. Used the sample and whoaaa does this smell different on my skin! Glad I forgot about it and didn't purchase because this dries down to more of a powdery nauseating smell on me..not the sweet cotton candy smell I liked....(I really like sweet smells from time to time). Such a shame because it smelled so yummy before...just doesn't work with my body chemistry I guess. This also tends to give me a headache when I wear it...not good.

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Time Zone Line and Wrinkle Reducing Creme SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
jdmcgi2 8/26/2012 6:24:00 PM

This creme smooths on effortlessly and sinks into my skin rather quickly. It is meant to moisturize and reduce lines and wrinkles. It does an excellent job moisturizing so much in fact that those with oily skin would probably want to steer clear of this. I just recently started to try serums and found that I needed extra moisture and wrinkle fighting ablitly since I'm now 30. I decided to try this and it did help with moisturization. It can really give you a nice glow but beware cause it can look greesy if you are supper oily already. I don't think I used it long enough to see if it really will help with lines and wrinkles. The only reason I would not repurchase is that this product after using it for several days in a row tends to give me these huge cystic looking acne. I really wish this didn't because it is a great creme! even has a little spf but not enough to be cause issues on it's own or have that gross spf smell...I'm still looking for an HG moisturizer/ age product...it's soo hard when you still have psycho skin that has major issues (my skin is dry/combination and oily/combination depending on the hour of day or week...always prone to breakouts and a little sensitive to some products.

Moisturizers -Elizabeth Arden - Prevage Day Intensive Anti-Aging Moisture Creme SPF 30
rated 2 of 5
jdmcgi2 8/25/2012 2:24:00 PM

I used a small sample of this I received in a gwp and I'm really glad I didn't buy the full size product because it is really expensive and wasn't good for my skin. First off the product is an orange color that applies as a cream and has a somewhat chemically very spf smell to it...I'm not a fan of spf smell...too much of it can make me sick. It applies alright and takes a minute to soak in ..the moisturization was so so as well. It is supposed to be anti-aging but I didn't get the chance to test that claim out because it irritated my skin after several uses and made my skin itch. Won't be buying this.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Caribbean in a Compact in Sun Bunny
rated 4 of 5
jdmcgi2 7/20/2012 1:37:00 PM

This is a great product and I probably will repurchase until I find something I like better. I can only use this bronzer when I am on the tan side so I only use it during the summer for the most part even in the summer I sometimes only use it on my neck. If I am super pale it does have a tendancy to look orange so that is why I do not use it in the winter months. I don't really notice any of the glitter at all....it does have a very slight amount of shimmer but not much. I don't use it as a contour because of this but as a bronzer only. It applies well when I use my flatbuki brush from too faced to apply it. I actually like snow bunny caribbean in a compact ten times better than this bronzer but I have still used this bronzer on a daily basis during the summer on my neck and decolatage and also on my face along with snow bunny.
