Treatments -Shea Moisture - Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque

I love this stuff. Let me start by saying that I am not the coloring that it seems to be intended for. I have medium tone skin and blonde hair. In the last week, I have applied this heavily to dry hair, put it up and slept on it. I then shampooed it out the next morning and lightly conditioned it afterwards. It has made my hair extremely soft and shinny. I've never had a conditioner work this well. My hair is generally normal to dry because I get highlights every couple months. The only thing I don't like is the smell. I can see how some people would like it but I hate it! I put my hair up as fast as I can so I don't have to smell it much. The good thing about it is that after it is washed out, my hair smells really good. It's odd. I bought this at Target for $8.99 for a 12 oz. tub. I'd recommend it to anyone that needs some extra moisture in their hair.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Barely Branded Color Tattoo

I've been wearing this every day since I bought it two weeks ago. It is a subtle but highly pigmented basic yet shimmery eyeshadow. Does that make any sense?! I always use TF Shadow Insurance underneath. Then I apply this with my finger. That's usually around 5:00 a.m. I then put Covergirl's single shadow in Taupe in the crease. By the end of the day, my shadows are mostly in place. If I wait til after 10:00 p.m. to take off my makeup, I can see signs of creasing coming on. Powder shadows never crease on me with TF Shadow Insurance. So, that is the only negative about this shadow. I'd still recommend these to anyone. This makes an awesome inner eye highlighter that lasts all day.
Not impressed! I like four of the colors. I can't stand the rest. Most of the shadows are blendable and all of them are highly pigmented. I have a neutral skin tone and yet most of the warmer colors have too much of a bronze undertone to do anything more than just look blah on me. It's not that I can't make this work, because I could force myself to wear these and they would just look ok. I prefer matte shadows. Although, I really like shimmery sadows, and I hate glittery shadows. The fallout is obnoxious. I bought this because I wanted a simple and easy to apply set of shadows. The glittery ones are more work than I am willing to put in. So, it's really my own fault for buying this. I gave the palette to my 14 year old neice. She likes it. I can always tell when she's been experimenting with it cause her cheeks are glittery. You can get away with that in jr high! :) I'll stick with Too Faced. Their palettes have never failed me. I can see this working best for medium-warm skin tones. Cool toned girls can find more flattering shadows elsewhere. Some neutral girls can do ok with this.
I purchased the High Dive (medium) shade. I think I like this a lot. When I looked at it right after purchasing, it appeared to have regular compacted product consistency. After not touching it at all, this morning when I went to use it, it had that film on it that compacted powders get when they come in contact with something damp. Usually I would just scratch that layer off if it were just a cheap product that I accidently got wet and procede to use the powder. Since this is a pricier compact and I have no idea why the layer formed, I am not sure what to do with it. I applied a lot of pressure to it to try to pick up some product and very little actually got on my brush. The little I got seems to be a decent color and one of the least orange (not muddy at all) bronzers I have used. If it weren't for this film I would like the bronzer better than TF's Chocolate Soliel. I might end up seeing if I can just exchange this for the same one.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Stylish Smokes quad in Amethyst Smokes

The color payoff on this quad is mediocre. I do not recommend it. This is very chalky. I also have the Emerald Smokes (greens) and it is much better.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Stylish Smokes in Emerald Smokes

I like this, but I don't love it. I use it maybe once a month and I have had it since it came out. The color payoff is decent. The white shade is a little too icy for me so I don't use that. The green shades have decent payoff. The black is a really good DS black. I use the black much more often than the other colors and I am not close to hitting pan. For a budget green smoky look, I recommend this.
Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Tapestry Taupe

This is my very favorite eye shadow all-over every-day-color. It goes on smooth and silky and the color has just the right amount of nude and shimmer qualities that it can go all over the lid and be slightly built up in the crease for a neutral and yet polished look. This is one of the only eye shadows I own that I am willing to wear without any other eye shadow color. If you want to intensify it, just add a little black to your crease. I highly recommend this. Please just don't buy them all. I am almost hitting pan and will need another soon. :)
I use Vaseline on my eyelashes every night. I was told that would thicken them. I believe I am seeing results after two months of use. I want to try this as an under eye moisturizer at night, but I am afraid that the oil it contains might cause mila or milia (however those little white bumps are spelled). I have read that it works great for under eye circles and fine lines.- not as a moisturizer though.
Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder

I actually give it a 4.5. The only reason I hold back on a 5 is because it is crazy messy! ELF needs to make the packaging more like BE's newish packaging with the sift guard. However- that would probably raise the price. The product itself is great stuff. I have started using this with my BE foundation rather than Mineral Veil. I definitely prefer this. A little goes a long way. If you put just a tiny bit on your face, it goes on clear and you will get a smooth and blended look. If you put too much, you can end up with a greyish film...but that really takes a lot. I put a tiny bit on between my foundation and bronzer. Then a tiny bit more after I add blush. This product is very messy so I recommend only peeling off the plastic dispenser guard 1/4 of the way. If you rip the whole thing off, you will have a mess every time you twist the lid of the canister off. Don't get MUF's HD powder or BE's Mineral Veil. This stuff blows both out of the water and is way cheaper!
I think this is pretty good quality. As long as you remember to shake it up before you squeeze product out, you will get some seriously full coverage. A tiny drop (less than half the size of a pea) is enough to conceal any discoloration around both of my eyes. I use this in medium light. It is pretty convenient to pick up since it is at WalMart. I would recommend this to everyone.
Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Strawberry Sorbet
jatkins 1/4/2013 5:45:00 PM
This is probably my favorite lip balm. I really don't like the egg shape at all. I would rather it come in a regular tube, but I am probably in the minority as most people think this is really cute. I put this on when I am doing my makeup every morning. it lasts for a while which is good because I usually don't put lip gloss or anything else on my lips for almost an hour after I finish my makeup and have gotten to work. This is vey moisturizing and does not leave behind any kind of weird film. I would give this a 5 if it weren't for the awkward container.
Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - nicki minaj pink friday perfume
jatkins 1/1/2013 7:07:00 PM
First off- I think the bottle is very unique, but also hideous. I don't even like Nicki Minaj. I hide the bottle behind my pretty bottles. I'd just throw the cap away if I had something else to put over the bottle. The scent is nice, but it smells like a PacSun or Tilly's kind of teenager sweet scent. I like those sometimes, but not on a regular basis. This was given to me as a gift. I'll continue to use it, but I doubt it will be very often.
When I used to color my hair dark brown shades, this is the brand I would use. Most of the time, the color would be true to what is described on the box. I am not sure if the formula changed or if my hair turned to a less than healthy state at some time, but the colors started going almost black on me. So, I turned to highlights. It is just easier for me to have a salon maintain my hair that way. So, maybe the reason this doesn't work is because I am not a hair color specialist...but I supposed most people that are dying their hair with drug store products aren't professionals. Needless to say...this is the product that turned me to professional colorings.
Mascara -Bare Escentuals - Flawless Definition mascara
jatkins 1/1/2013 6:44:00 PM
I got this with the BE Your Starting Lineup. This is a great lengthening mascara! Although, it does not do much by way of thickening. It will work for me because I usually apply two mascaras (lengthener and thickener). I've yet to find a mascara that truly does both. The formula is on the wet side but dries quickly. Oftentimes wet mascaras transfer a little from the tip of my lashes to my eyelids before they have time to dry. This one does not. I recommend this!
How am I the first to review this amazing brush?! I know it is pretty new, but it has been out for a couple weeks at least. QVC even featured it and sold out the first time around. I picked it up at ulta for $27. This is the perfect combination of soft and firm. The "hairs" feel like feathers on the tips, but sturdy at the base. I believe this brush is intended for the new BE foundation in the compact, but after watching reviews about the compact, I was more impressed with the brush's performance than the foundation. So, I bought it to use with my original BE foundation. It is meant to give precise and medium to full coverage. It does just that. I used it today for the first time and will not be using my other BE foundation brushes for foundation any longer.
