Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Daisy
rated 3 of 5

The bottle is just beautiful. I'm on the fence about the scent though. Depending on which body wash I use, "Daisy" has the potential to smell like an old-lady perfume or rather like the real thing on me. My friend renamed it the "piss perfume" because sometimes it smells like that on me. If any of you are having that problem, use a fragrance-free body wash, and you'll be fine... I won't buy this again though.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Exotic Coconut body splash
rated 2 of 5

Very cheap coconut fragrance. I won't buy this again. I smell plastic whenever I spray this on my body. I am very particular with coconut fragrances, and can spot a fake from a mile away, and this one is just it. I don't know what to do with my bottle, because I refuse to use this even as room spray.

Fragrances -Chanel - Chance
rated 5 of 5
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 6:12:00 AM

My favorite fragrance from Chanel. This is like the younger version of Coco Mademoiselle. I can wear this throughout the day unlike Coco Mademoiselle. The funny thing is I get more compliments from girls when I wear this rather than the boys... I guess it's because this is such a strong, confident scent and guys tend to prefer soft florals and fruity blends... but who cares? I effin ♥ this. Unlike some scents that are only suitable for summer, Chance is a year-round fragrance, truly a classic.

This is a very sexy sexy scent. It has a very spicy dry-down on me, and throughout the day, the scent becomes softer but it still manages to exhibit strong notes of oriental florals. This is a good fragrance for dinner with an SO at a five-star restaurant. I wouldn't wear it to school or work. It's just so mature and so luxurious... It definitely evokes luxury for me. This is my favorite Chanel fragrance after Chance.

Fragrances -Issey Miyake - L'Eau d'Issey
rated 2 of 5
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 5:52:00 AM

Boring boring boring scent. BBW's "Sea Island Cotton" smells like Issey on me... I guess it's my skin chemistry, but if I had to choose a fresh scent, I'd go with Dolce and Gabanna's "Light Blue."

Fragrances -J. Lo - Glow

The only thing nice about "Glow" is the bottle. This isn't even perfume. It smells like Off bug spray. UGH. I'm sooo glad I got this as a sample.

I love this perfume. I thought there'd be higher reviews for this! This dries down to a very spicy floral scent on me. This is J.Lo's best perfume hands down.

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Romance
rated 3 of 5
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 5:41:00 AM

The first time I discovered this, I was a junior in HS, participating in a summer program at Stanford... aahh... summer flings... At that time, I thought this was the most sophisticated fragrance ever. Well just because it's Ralph Lauren doesn't mean that it's a "grown-up" fragrance. Thankfully, I grew out of it, but sometimes I still get these urges to spray "Romance" on my pulse points and remember the sweaty palms and awkward flirting of Summer 2003.
I live on a tropical island, so most of my go-to scents are all based on fresh, citrusy scents and warm coconut scents, so this floral concoction is something I only reach for once in a while... The reason I gave it three stars is because this is a great starter fragrance for young girls making their way into adulthood.

Blush -Chanel - Narcisse [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
ilovelomos 5/28/2009 2:49:00 AM

This blush is just amazing. I bought "Aglow" by Clinique at the counter a year ago, because the SA told me it was the most natural color ever made by a cosmetics company, and that it was the closest thing to a natural flush on the skin. Well, she was right... when it came to my friend, who has very warm-tones in her skin. Even now, I can recommend "Aglow" for warmer skin tones. It looks absolutely beautiful! If Narcisse did not work for you because it was so light, do try "Aglow!" As for myself, well, let's just say that it didn't matter which brush I used, "Aglow" made me look garishly "aglow."
And then, I bought "Narcisse" on the recommendations of my cousin who is a makeup artist whose clients are 100% Asian. She told me that most blushes made by Western cosmetics brands do not produce a natural flush on the skin. She opened her blush kit, and out came four Chanel blush compacts. All of them were "Narcisse." She carries around some MAC blushes, but most of her blush kit is Shiseido Maquillage, Kanebo, Kose, Shu Uemura, Shiseido Majorlica, and RMK. Those brands carry superior colors, and I can attest to the sheer blush application by those brands, but alas, I do not own any blushes from any of the mentioned companies. I have only swatched them on the back of my hand... and can attest to the prettiness of each brand.
Back to the point at hand, I bought Chanel "Narcisse" for myself. There was a discount at my local DFS, and along with my friend's Chanel employee discount, I got the compact for $26 USD. A great DEAL that I was so happy to receive, because Chanel rarely has discounts on their items, but this time they made an exception for the makeup items! Yes, it made me a very very happy shopper! I have very light Asian skin, but use powder bronzer to look "tanned." Now this is where Narcisse comes in. I don't use Narcisse solely as a blush. The only time I use Narcisse as a blush is when I am not using bronzer, but when I do use brozner, Narcisse becomes my highlighter. The application is wonderfully sheer, and two light swipes of Narcisse on top of my bronzer application makes my cheeks just glow, like I have really just got off the plane from Capri. Please note that the bronzer I use does not contain any shimmer. I use a very matte bronzer from Neutrogena. Very cheap, and IMO, so much better than Guerlain's. Narcisse provides the perfect complement to highlight the matte application of the Neutrogena bronzer. I highly recommend this method, ladies, if you use a matte bronzer, but hate the shimmer that comes with it. Narcisse provides the perfect highlight and flush. Will I buy it again? OF COURSE!
The compact is just so pretty. The Chanel logo is just absolutely classic, so it's definitely fun to whip it out when you're with a bunch of your girlfriends! I haven't hit pan on any of my blushes yet, so here's to me hitting pan on Narcisse!!!

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Sensitive Facial Skin Q10 Active Night Anti-Wrinkle Cream
rated 5 of 5
ilovelomos 3/21/2009 12:20:00 AM

Not for me, but this review is from my dad. He is 57 years old, and has normal skin, prone to sunspots, and expression lines. He has great skin for the most part, but he's never used sunscreen in his life unless he's out on the beach. He's a soap and body lotion kinda guy, and really doesn't like using anything frilly. The one thing he did take the time to put on his face was fresh aloe vera gel directly from the plant. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was browsing through a drugstore, bought the Eucerin cream on a whim. I brought it home, and since we were out of body lotion, my dad decided to use this on his face. He now uses it morning and night. Just last night, I looked at his skin under bright bright white fluorescent lights, and his face was absolutely luminous. Two minor expression lines next to his mouth are GONE! The areas under his eyes which began to sag just a little has plumped up so much! His skin looks and feels like a baby's bottom! Some of his sunspots have slowly began to fade away, but they are not gone completely, but have lightened up noticeably!! He loves it because it's fragrance free, and he said it just disappears into his skin upon application. The non-oily finish is what he really likes about it! This is a big deal for someone like father who never used a beauty product in his life! I recommend this for other men out there who don't like frilly products with normal-ish skin! This is a great anti-aging product! 5 stars!!

Skincare - Face -Shiseido - After Sun Intensive Recovery Cream
rated 4 of 5
ilovelomos 5/22/2008 4:48:00 AM

This is something I bought to use after a week long excursion at the beach without sunscreen in tow. I had red welts all over my nose, and on my chest, and I decided to stop at Macy's on the drive home for aloe gel or something to soothe the burn. Like usual, I hovered over to the makeup and skincare counters like usual, and found this cream in a jar. It has that distinct smell that comes with all Asian creams. It's greasy, and the greasiness doesn't dissipate even after application, but it soothed my burns so well. This pairs really well with the other sun items from Shiseido. Honestly, this item doesn't have much purpose if you have applied sunscreen religiously. For me on the other hand, this item was a lifesaver.

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Beauty Bar
rated 5 of 5
ilovelomos 11/28/2007 6:06:00 AM

I love love love love the smell of this soap. I can't say it enough. I love showering because I love the rich lather and the way it rinses clean with just a hint of moisture.
I haven't used this on my face, I strictly use this on my body. I like to spray perfume on my skin right after I shower with Dove because the perfume smells so much better (if you like soapy scents, then this will work for you). I have also used perfumes I don't like as much over a Dove scented body and I swear I've decided to keep a lot of my old perfumes.

Fragrances -Anna Sui - Anna Sui Dreams
rated 2 of 5
ilovelomos 11/26/2007 9:41:00 AM

I received this product as a GWP a few years ago when this perfume was first launched at my local DFS.
The smell gives me a headache. I think it's the vanilla. I live in the tropics and I am more accustomed to fresh scents more than the warm scents (chocolate, vanilla, foody scents), although I do love great coconut and lime verbena combinations. Anna Sui Dreams smells very stuffy on me and it just doesn't go with my skin chemistry. I do love the musky dry down though, otherwise, I won't be buying this.

Cleansers -Mary Kay - Mary Kay Creamy Cleanser Formula 2
rated 3 of 5
ilovelomos 11/22/2007 10:17:00 AM

This cleanser has awesome ingredients and great consistency (very creamy, like a cleansing milk). This rinses clean for me and hasn't broken me out. But for some reason, it dries me out. I don't know if it's because I used a toner w/ alcohol in it last week which irritated my skin pretty badly, but my chin started flaking from the surface dryness.

I think I'm going to stick with my Ponds. Even though it contains a fragrance, I love how the Ponds soothes my skin because of it's thick consistency. I think I might just use the Mary Kay cleanser after I use my Ponds.

EDIT//I tried it again and it's still the same effect. I finally discovered why I am getting so irritated and dry. It's the propylene glycol. I also reacted the same way with Cetaphil cleanser.

Cleansers -Ponds - Deep Cleanser Cold Cream
rated 5 of 5
ilovelomos 11/8/2007 9:59:00 PM

I absolutely love this. I have very sensitive acne-prone skin also prone to flaky and dry areas. My skin has a mind of it's own. Prior to using this, I was using drying products with BHA and BP in them, which made my skin absolutely horrid-looking. Ever since I have been using Pond's Cold Cream and Shiseido SPF 55 Lotion, my skin has been doing so much better. I get compliments on my skin quite often, and I'm so happy because I have a simple routine. I seriously used all sorts of drugstore acne products and was one dermatologist visit away from getting on prescription acne products. I was overusing products so often that my dermatologist thought I had a fungal infection on my face (no joke!). It was probably contact dermatitis from over usage of harsh chemicals, but it was that bad!!

I love the scent because it reminds me of my grandmother. I use this at night to remove my waterproof sunscreen. I slather it all over my face, massage it in softly, use Huggies Sensitive Baby Wipes (which I rinse in water to soften the sheets). I then use the wipes to remove the cold cream. After that I do a final wipe with a drenched baby wipe. Usually I leave the shower head running and kind of let the water massage my face afterwards. I don't use a toner or a moisturizer, but I am in search of a good soothing toner. I feel that the cold cream moisturizes as it cleanses, and plus my skin is oily.

In the AM, I rely on the shower head for hydro exfoliation. At nights, I use Pond's Cold Cream. I absolutely love this, and I hope never to part with it. EVER.
