Mascara -L'Oreal - Le Grand Curl Waterproof [DISCONTINUED]
iconoclast 2/4/2004 7:52:00 AM
I have farely long lashes and have always ended up with a small mascara smudge below my eye by the end of the day. It never made a difference whether I curled my lashes or the mascara I used. Le Grand Curl is the only mascara that has NEVER left a smudge.

I absolutely love this lipstick. The color is a perfect natural red on me and sheer enough that I don't need a mirror to apply. I only wish it lasted longer.

I absolutely hate this. There's something about it that makes me think of little old ladies who chain smoke and douse themselves in perfume. I can't even bring myself to spritz a little to see if it smells better on.

Lotions/ Creams -A Zaftig Woman - Shea Butter Body Pudding- Cinnamon Buns
iconoclast 2/1/2003 3:21:00 AM
First of all, I was disappointed with the smell. It seemed more Big Red than cinnamon buns to me. But I mixed it with the sample pot of Marshmallow Fluff(yummy!) hand cream the company sent and got the perfect scent I was looking for. I know some people have had reactions to this, so I tried it on my arms first and only applied the roll on oil to my wrists. There was no reaction so I thought I was good to go. WRONG! I used it all over for the first time today and mixed it with Smell This Cake Batter to avoid smelling like gum. I had applied it everywhere but my back when I started turning red, then burning. I looked and felt like I had spent way too long in a tanning bed. An hour and one cold shower later all was fine.lol Maybe there was something in the Cake Batter that didn't mix well with the Cinnamon Buns. Who knows. But I won't be buying this again.

This is great as a powder, but looked chalky and obvious when I applied it wet. I'll still buy it.

Treatments -Mary Kay - Day Solution/ Night Solution
iconoclast 11/22/2002 4:44:00 AM
These felt very sticky on my skin and didn't feel like they absorbed. The day solution cause my foundation to "roll up" when I applied it, if that makes sense.

The Holy Grail of eye makeup remover as far as I'm concerned. I'll never buy anything else.

Treatments (Eye) -Mary Kay - Triple Action Eye Enhancer [DISCONTINUED]

I liked the way it felt before I applied other products over it- very powdery and smooth. But it did nothing to keep my e/s from creasing, and only made the concealer under my eyes look cakey.

Blush -Mary Kay - Blushes
iconoclast 11/22/2002 3:55:00 AM
Love the stuff! I haven't used another blush in years. My two favorite colors are Sunny Spice and Teaberry. At first I thought Teaberry would be way too dark for my pale skin, but when applied very lightly to the apples of my cheeks it gives a very natural flushed look.

Crème -Mary Kay - Cream-to-Powder Foundation
iconoclast 11/22/2002 3:35:00 AM
I really wanted to like this. I really did. My skin is oily but tends to get flakey at the same time- especially on my forehead and apples of my cheeks. The foundation looked great from a few feet away, but when I stepped closer to the mirror it looked very cakey. Every flake and bump on my face was extremely obvious.

Concealers -Mary Kay - concealer

I first tried this a few years agoand thought it sucked. Then my new consultant said they'd changed the formula and gave me a free tube. She was convinced I'd like it.....and she was right. It's not overly drying or too greasy, and a little does go a really long way. One tube could easily last a year or more. While I don't think it covers my dark circles completely, it's the best thing I've found.

A very different scent. Not floraly, sweet, or musky, just different. I don't know how to describe it, but I really like it.

Cleansers -Mary Kay - Timewise 3-in-1 Cleanser and Moisturizer
iconoclast 10/13/2002 6:45:00 AM
I used to use MK creamy cleanser, purifying freshener and revitalizing mask, but hated taking the time to do all three steps. I tried this because it combined it all into one. So far it's been great. My skin is combination-normal/oily, not prone to too many bad breakouts, but would get very flakey. I no longer need to use a seperate exfolient.

I love this stuff! I use it everyday and it doesn't dry my skin out at all. It doesn't smell strong either. One tube will last forever.

Primer/ Corrector -Neutrogena - Clear Pore Shine-Control Gel
iconoclast 10/13/2002 6:22:00 AM
At first I liked it. It made may t-zone feel powdery soft, and seemed to control shine a little, but not as much as I had hoped. After a month or so the product had dried to a rubber like substance and was impossible to apply. I definitely won't be buying it again.
