BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
gimmeglamour 10/20/2012 2:48:00 PM
I purchased this with the mind set of using it on lazy days when I don't feel like doing a full face of makeup, but still need something to even out my skin tone and for after I get off of work and don't want to be makeup free, but need a little something. I have pretty bad skin (see photo below). It does the job pretty well. I wouldn't be able to use this as an every day foundation, unless I used concealer. The pros are that it is a quick fix for uneven skin tone and if you have blemish free skin, this would work great. The cons would be not enough coverage for an every day foundation if you have blemishes, and the smell. I don't mind it that much, but I can see how others would. The scent is a strong Garnier smell, similar to their shampoo and conditioner. Their color selection is also limited, so the light/medium seemed too light on my NW20 skin, but the medium/dark was just too dark for me. It is a little over priced IMO, but the packaging is convenient. I would purchase this again, but I'd also like to try out the other BB creams first. Since I don't use it that often, I doubt I'll need to repurchase anytime soon. Below you can see my before and after photos: http://img.makeupalley.com/3/6/8/5/2332648.JPG

Other -Crest - Whitestrips
gimmeglamour 10/29/2009 8:43:00 PM
This is the best product I have EVER purchased. I used these about 6 months ago for 2 weeks straight and my teeth are STILL white!! I get comments constantly from people asking where I got my teeth whitened at. Everyone thinks that they were professionally, whitened. The price is extremely cheap for what they do. My only complaint is that keeping them on for 30 minutes can be a pain, and after the first week they did start to hurt my teeth a little bit.. all in all they were worth it, because I have movie star teeth now for less than $30! I highly recommend!!

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
gimmeglamour 7/9/2008 3:21:00 PM
I don't know if it's just the fact that liquid foundation does not stay on my face, regardless of what primer or powder I use, or if this stuff just didn't meet my expectations. I think it's a little bit of both. I bought this from a makeup convention in LA after testing a little on my hand and jawbone. It looked like it had crazy good coverage by the looks of it on my hand, but once I got home and tried it on my face, the results werent so amazing. This foundation does not have HG coverage in my opinion. Maybe because I didn't pair it with the powder. Based on the amount of times I've tried it, I just wasn't happy. I continue to use it, cause I did pay for it, but I have to reapply throughout the day, which is super annoying. I have uneven skin, that has a lot of redness and I have acne too, maybe that's why it didn't cover so well, but even with concealer, this disappoints me. HD ready foundation should create a flawless finish, and this didnt do that for me. I'd look crazy scary if I was being filmed on HD. Anyways, if your skin is lacking imperfections this will look great, but otherwise don't waste your money. I'm lucky I only paid $24 for it, I thin it retails for around $40 something.

Powder -Christian Dior - Diorskin Forever Compact
gimmeglamour 5/5/2008 12:14:00 PM
I bought this on a whim, after months of testing it out everytime I went in Sephora. Everytime I go in there, it's usually after work, or when I have no makeup on at all, so it's like makeover time. This was the foundation I'd constantly try and love, because of the perfect coverage. I didn't really realize that it was an actual foundation, I just swiped it on thinking it was powder, but the coverage was soo good, that when my mineral makeup ran out, I decided to buy it. It's really a great foundation, but I wouldn't just apply it on my skin without anything under. I use the Tigi Glamma Liquid fdtn under, which is more of a tinted moisturizer. It just gives my skin a bit more moisture, after my regular moisturizer, so my skin doesnt feel so dry. This gives me the most perfect coverage I've seen out of any foundation. I hate liquids, they irritate my skin, and mineral makeup is great, but so glowy, I just love the Dior. Only downsides. it's very pricey, and after only 3 weeks, I've hit pan.. I had to keep in mind that I did not use this sparingly, because I love it so much, but when I repurchase, I'll definately have to take into consideration that it doesn't last forever. Very amazing product though, it's love =]

Palettes -Too Faced - The New Romantic - Peacock
gimmeglamour 4/16/2008 11:06:00 AM
I LOVEEE this palette. It's soo perfect. Not to mention I picked up for only $7.99 at TJ MAxx. I'm an NW20, and the blush is a bit dark, but if I apply it with a super light hand, it really makes me look more awake and lively, so I love it. The middle gloss in the palette is my HG I just love it, all the glosses are very pretty, not sticky and look gorgeous on. The e/s are very pigmented and come in 3 gorgeous shades. I will definately be running to TJ MAxx next chance I get to pick up some back ups.

Powder -Maybelline - Mineral Power Powder Foundation
gimmeglamour 3/28/2008 10:56:00 AM
Maybe it's because I got the wrong color, which was odd, because I got the 2nd to lightest, and when something says "natural ivory", I definately think ivory, like as in pale like me. Well, no. It was not Ivory colored at all, it was orange. So orange, I could have used this as a blush. It didnt look that way when I bought it, and I was really tired, and just needed a foundation, since my LM had finally run out on me. I hate using liquid foundations, because they seriously break me out so I just bought this one, cause it had the best reviews. Maybe this sucked cause I got the wrong color, or maybe it just sucks period. I really don't know, but either way the coverage was blotchy, and I looked like a lobster. Maybe it's just not for everyone, cause it definately was not for me. Won't be buying again.. obviously.

Powder -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Foundation
gimmeglamour 3/28/2008 10:52:00 AM
I was soo disappointed in this, but than again not really. I've kind of learned that d/s mineral foundations DO NOT WORK. Especially, when you have been using high end mmu in the past. My stupid self should have just bought my Laura Mercier mmu, and saved myself the crazy money I ended up spending at the drugstore for conveinence reasons for worthless mineral makeup. This offers basically no coverage for me, doesnt cover any dark circles or acne scars, redness, really it covers nothing. It just sits there like a powdery mask on the face. The packaging is what really pissed me off. I mean, yes it's a nice idea to include a brush applicator in the top, but if the brush applicator is extremely small, and sucks, than it is not a good idea. I found it impossible to get the stuff out, and than once I did instead of being able to swirl my brush in it, inside the mineral makeup cap, well no I couldn't do that.. cause the stupid little top was connected to the cap! ughhh. So, instead I had to slam my hand against the bottom of the jar, just to get a mineral makeup all over my sink top, just so I could swirl my good kabuki in it. I'm sorry if you don't understand, I guess you'd have to try the product to really see what I'm talking about, but seriously, don't waste your money. It's not even cheap, I paid $13 for this crap. ughhh obviously will not be buying again.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Airy Fairy
gimmeglamour 3/18/2008 10:11:00 AM
I've been hearing about Airy Fairy FOREVER & wanting it, but could never seem to find it anywhere. Finally I saw it the other day on display, and was sooo happy =] This is definately an HG for me, it goes soo well with my PPP skin, and goes on smooth, and stays forever. I've been wearing this non stop since I purchased, and it's dirt cheap, so what's not to lovee ?? Will definately repurchase, if I can find it again, which I hope I can!

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
gimmeglamour 3/10/2008 11:05:00 AM
Let me start off by saying that I have been in a never ending search for a creme or liquid foundation that actually covers my blemishes.. The only thing I've ever found to give me the coverage I want has been mineral foundation. I tried MAC Studio Fix, and was left with overly dry, blotchy skin.. so, I hated that. I decided to splurge and give this a try, even though it was a bit out of my price range ($42 usd), I heard good reviews so I tried it.. This, actually impressed me.. I finally found a creme foundation that covers up my imperfections. I'm very acne prone, and I've been using this for a week, and so far my skin has only gotten better. Not saying that it's because of this (I started using Murad), but it definately has not given me anymore breakouts. I also love how I can add other products to it, to create a more luminious look, because it does tend to be a bit matte if you don't add anything to it. I use WNW St. Tropez liquid shimmer or Lumene Crystal Radiance to create a more glowy look. So, basically when I'm finished with this, I'll repurchase as soon as I have an extra $42 to shell out.. Only downside really is the price for me, which is why I gave it only 4 lippies. Here's a pic of me using it: http://img.makeupalley.com/3/6/8/5/903859.JPG

Powder -Laura Mercier - Mineral Powder SPF 15
gimmeglamour 3/10/2008 10:55:00 AM
I'm a former Bare Minerals user, but I got so tired of it I wanted to try something new, so I picked this up. Even the lightest color was a bit too dark for me, but not enough to be a huge problem.. I actually liked how it gave my skin a little color, but I can see how their color selections could be a problem for people lighter than me. It was amazing in comparison with BE, because it didnt give me the disco ball effect, but instead a very subtle glow. I couldn't afford to buy the Primer too, since this alone is $35, which is $10 more than BE, but you get a lot more product, and it lasts longer.. Anyways, this sucked when I didn't use moisturizer, but when I did it was just okay.. I found the best way to get a flawless finish with this was to apply a light coverage foundation under it, I used the Revlon Colorstay Mineral fdtn, it lightened up the actual color of the LM, and when I applied the LM over, I got a flawless finish.. Basically, I'm giving this 4 lippies, b/c despite all the cons with it, it is the best mineral foundation I've used, and the coverage can be built up & it actually covers all my left over acne scars, so I like it a lot. I dont know if I'll buy this again, or try something new.. but, so far I'll be buying again.

Shampoo -TiGi - Self Absorbed Shampoo
gimmeglamour 3/7/2008 5:25:00 PM
UPDATE: After 2 weeks of using this with good results, it really disappointed me. Enough to bring it down to 1 lippie =[ It created soo much build up & made my hair super greasy.. horrrrrible. I fixed it with Herbal Essences Citrus boost stuff, which I always end up going back too.. so, anyways, the Herbal Essences stuff is the best, this is just horrible. This and the conditioner are both my HGs. No other shampoo or conditioner has transformed my hair like this has. I have annoying hair, and I'm starting to love it since using this. (Read my review on the conditioner for more details).. Anyways, the scent is just lovely and I don't even have to wear perfume anymore, because this is just enough scent for me to smell fresh.. So many good things about this.. I will definately repurchase, and I gave this only 4 lippies, because I hate the dispenser, and I find it takes a lot of pumps to get the amount that I need to cover my hair, that is fairly short (just below the shoulders).. Anyways, try this out, I love it =]

Conditioner -TiGi - Bed Head Self Absorbed Conditioner
gimmeglamour 3/7/2008 5:22:00 PM
UPDATE: Okay, now I know why it got soo many bad reviews. After 2 weeks of using with no problem, this turned my hair into a greasy mess. It sucks that it happened, because I was really loving it.. anyways, don't buy this, it's horrible. I don't know why this got so many bad reviews, but I love it =] I used Bed Head in the past, & loved it, but I couldn't remember which one I had used. I heard from a lot of people NOT to get Self Absorbed, but when I went to the drugstore and spotted Bed Head, Self Absorbed was the only ones they had. . I was reluctant about buying it, but I am so glad I did. This really is my HG conditioner, and the shampoo is my HG also.. I just love this stuff. I have dry, damaged, annoying hair that I can never get to straighten good, or wave good, it's always looking bad imo.. but, after using this, my hair has not seen one bad day. I was able to add a bit of gel and make it wavy, and when I decided to blow dry & straighten the results were beautiful. My only complaints, and my reasoning for the 4 lippies, is that it takes a lot of pumping the bottle to get out the amount that I need, and I have hair thats just below the shoulders.. But, besides that I have no complaints, and I love the smell.. I can skip perfume now, cause this stuff makes me smell good all on it's own. Will definately repurchase =]

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush Pink Swoon
gimmeglamour 3/3/2008 11:54:00 AM
This is my HG blush & I've been wearing it everyday since I recieved it in a swap. Every other blush I've tried has settled into my skin after the first hour of wearing it & turned my skin orangey, everything I've tried has been too dark (I'm nw20). This is like a miracle for me, so I'm really happy I swapped for it! Will definately repurchase when I run out =]

Highlighters -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega pump shimmer St. Tropez [DISCONTINUED]
gimmeglamour 3/3/2008 10:28:00 AM
I am obsessed with liquid face luminizers, so I had to try this. I've loved every single one I've tried so far, & this was no acception. Strobe Cream, Lumene's Crystal Radiance, and this one are the 3 I've used so far. While Lumene's didn't beat out Strobe Cream, IMO this one came a lot closer. I used it mixed with my liquid foundation & after I added LM Mineral foundation over that, I could still see this really pretty luminious glow, that I fell in love with. It made my skin look so pretty! I will continue to buy this, and it's so fricken cheap, it's a way better deal than Strobe Cream.

Primer/ Corrector -Lumene - Crystal Radiance Skin Tone Perfector
gimmeglamour 3/3/2008 10:24:00 AM
I know this hasn't got the best reviews, but I loved it! I'm obsessed with luminizing face products, & I bought this pretty much to see what the comparison was to MAC Strobe Cream. While, this wasn't Strobe Cream, it was a cheaper dupe that does pretty much the same thing. Maybe not as much luminizing, but just enough for me. I love applying this under foundation, because it still shines through, even after applying liquid foundation & even mineral foundation over that, it gives me that candelit glow, that I just adore. It wasn't pink at all IMO, but maybe that's just me. I will definately continue to buy this in the future, instead of Strobe Cream.. not really because it's a better product, but because it is close enough for a lot cheaper.
