Masks -Mary Kay - Clarifying Mask Formula 3

I love this mask! However, I was stupid and realized this isn't for dry skin since it's oil-absorbing. I have very dry skin in the winter, but it's fairly normal in the summer. So I will be using this during the summer. It's also great if you have a pimple, if you dab some on the pimple, it goes down within hours. It feels SUPER tight and uncomfortable when it's on, but your skin literally looks amazing after. Once you moisturize, your face feels flawless. I would buy this again just because it's so awesome. However, I think I will look for a mask that's not so oil-absorbing. I definitely recommend this!

Everyone tells me how their hairstylists say that no one should use protein/keratin-based treatments...But yet my hairstylist says I should (specifically my hair type). People that don't have damaged hair, or do not bleach or highlight their hair don't necessarily need this. My hairstylist told me that this treatment is for people that get their hair dyed/highlighted/ specifically with bleach and harsh chemicals NEED this. However, she did say that no one should use this more than once a week or even once every few weeks. If you use this too much, your hair will get hard and crack off, which is what protein can do. That's why everyone says not to use it. But it's good for your hair is you use it in MODERATION. I was told this is the only treatment that will give you great protein boost and will actually help repair your hair. Bleach strips the hair of protein and this is designed to restore that root problem. I use it once a month and I love it! I leave it on overnight and wash it out in the morning and it makes my hair feel like hair again, it really repairs your hair. Combine that treatment with some hydrating masks and your hair will be better off. Very expensive, but worth it if you have very damaged hair. The smell is kind of sickening but that's minor. It's what it actually does to your hair that makes it worth the money. I usually put this on my hair a few days after I get my hair done.

Conditioner -Nexxus - Humectress Conditioner

This did nothing for my hair...It might have not worked b/c of my specific type of hair, but I didn't like this. This goes for the shampoo as well. I didn't like the smell (but that's a personal opinion), and it felt like my hair had all kinds of product in it after I washed it with this - my hair would be lifeless/flat/weighed down. And it got greasy very fast, since this is supposed to provide intense moisture. I have pretty dry hair, so I was surprised it made my hair feel dirty/not washed. Won't be buying it again!

Lipstick -Rimmel - Moisture Renew - Berry Queen
genny1 4/10/2010 12:02:00 PM
Considering that this was a cheap product, it's pretty good. It stays on forrreevvverr.. It actually looked gross the next day, i had to wipe it off really hard with a face cloth to get it completely off. So it definitely has staying power. This shade of red was good for my skin tone. I wanted to try the dramatic red lip and subtle eye makeup look and I was very happy with it. This will be my go-to red lipstick. Would buy again if I need red lipstick.

I use the light concealer. This is my first time using a green corrector/concealer so I have nothing else to compare it to. But I love it! I have blemish-prone skin and reddish cheeks, and this is great for covering it up and evening out skin tone. I rarely use the green concealer followed by the light concealer. I normally put the green on all my problem areas, then put the light concealer under my eyes, then put foundation on and my skin looks fabulous. Can barely see any of the redness! I like the consistency of the concealers - not too dry/cakey. Not overly expensive, therefore I would buy this again.

Concealers -NARS - Ginger

This is the perfect colour and seems to be fairly universal. It has a nice texture, and if you blend it with your daily facial moisturizer, it goes on even nicer. Love this colour. I just didn't like how fast I used it up, and I didn't use it everyday b/c of how expensive it was. That's the other reason I probably won't buy it again - very expensive. But the quality of the stick was great. You get what you pay for I guess!

Lip Gloss -BeneFit Cosmetics - Her Glossiness - Life on the A List [DISCONTINUED]

Pretty expensive, but if you want a classic lip gloss that works with everything, this is the one. My friends ask me to use it, they love it too. I've lost it though, so if I do buy this again, I won't be taking it out with me everywhere. Great colour, it's not too sticky, perfect level of glossiness and very moisturizing. Looks great on everyone.

Eyeliner -Estee Lauder - Artist's Eye Pencil
genny1 4/9/2010 10:52:00 PM
Best eye pencil I've every used. Totally worth the money. It lasts a long time too. Doesn't smudge too much and it's not too greasy/creamy. I don't like liquidy/greasy eye liners, I like straight up eye pencils - it's the only way I can control how it goes on. Plus it has the sponge on the other end to even it out. The colour I got was Softsmudge Black. Great eye liner.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Sephora Kabuki Brush

I bought this because I was too cheap to buy anything else in the store, because my apartment was broken into and all my makeup was stolen. I'm not completely unsatisfied with it, but I'm not completely impressed either. It will still kind of expensive (12 euros) considering it didn't do much. It's a little too stiff and I've been finding my bronzer that normally lasts forever, is almost all gone. And I wouldn't normally be out of it this soon, when I had my old MAC brush. Wouldn't buy this again. I actually think I lost it, and I'm kind of glad, because now I have an excuse to go out and buy a new one. haha.

Blush -MAC - Blushcreme - Lilicent ] [DISCONTINUED]
genny1 4/9/2010 10:39:00 PM
I absolutely love this colour. It's my first blush creme. Loooove it. I normally don't like blush, because my skin already has a pinky-reddy undertone, but this colour works. It looks great with some tinted moisturizer, then a little of this dabbed on the apples of the cheeks - gives a great glow, gives some life to the face.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer - Peachtwist
genny1 4/9/2010 10:36:00 PM
Great colour. It's a nice blush, if you don;t like to go too pinky. Nice shimmer to it, so it's great for evening make up. I sometimes like to mix it with MAC bronzer, if I'm going all out with my make up/if I feel super pale.

Bronzers -MAC - Bronzer in Golden
genny1 4/9/2010 10:33:00 PM
This is my second time buying this bronzer and I love love love it. Everyone I know loves it too. It lasts forever. It's fairly universal too - looks great on everyone. The last one I bought has been running out rather quickly, I think because of the brush I've been using. I like how you can choose how matte or shimmery you want it. I like it in between. Definitely buying this again.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
genny1 4/9/2010 10:30:00 PM
Great foundation. I looove the way it blends, it's not too greasy and it doesn't dry your skin out. If you find the right shade, it looks great. And it lasts forever! Definitely buying this again and again.

Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation
genny1 4/9/2010 10:27:00 PM
I bought this product last year and still have a lot left. I like it, but it barely offers any coverage. It;s great if you don't want to look too made-up or just want something simple/natural-looking. I have to layer it with another foundation on my cheeks, since they tend to have a natural blush to them. It is easy to blend and it's great for dry skin, but I almost found it a bit too greasy. But it's nothing a bit of powder can't fix. I just don't use it enough, which is why I wouldn't buy it again. Overall, I expected more, but it's not that bad of a product.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - 10% Urea Lotion
genny1 4/6/2010 10:30:00 PM
I just started using this product and so far so good. I have a genetic skin condition called keratosis pilaris - my skin produces too much keratin (skin protein). It's on the back of my arms and my legs, and I was told to use this for my skin problem. It's great! It's SUPER moisturizing. If you have a skin condition, I highly recommend this. It was ~$22, but definitely worth it. I only bought it a few days ago, so I don't know how much it was alleviate my skin problem, but I'm happy so far. Probably the single most moisturizing lotion I've ever used. If you have normal skin and it's not too dry, I don't recommend this.
