Eyeliner -Cargo - SmokyEye duo in Skye
genabobena 3/23/2008 12:27:00 AM
The price is a little high, but it really takes the guesswork out of the perfect smoky eye & that to me is priceless! The colors are very pigmented & the lasting power is great (when applied over my UDPP it lasted smudge & crease-free from 9am until after midnight when I finally washed my face before bed). Plus, the blue really made my brown eye pop! Not only would I buy this again, but I plan on picking up some of the other colors as well.

Palettes -Bare Escentuals - Smoky "V" Eye Tutorials
genabobena 3/12/2008 7:42:00 PM
Like the reviewer below me, I got this kit mostly for the V brush. Once I tried the kit, I was pleasantly surprised that I loved the e/s that it included. Unfortunately, I wish I could say the same a/b the brush! The V wasn't wide enough to apply to both my crease & lash line. Also, the brush wasn't very stiff & would bend when I was trying to apply the darker shade in the V. I ended up w/a huge eye shadow mess all over my eyelid. Unfortunately it had to go back since I couldn't justify spending $34 for the kit when I could only use the 2 e/s :/

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Mascara Base [DISCONTINUED]
genabobena 2/18/2008 11:26:00 PM
I really wanted to love this product. I had to have it after all the great reviews. I put it on the first day & didn't notice a difference, so I put my Cargo TexasLash by itself on one eye & put this & my mascara on the other eye to see if there was any difference. No joke, the eye w/just the TexasLash kept a curl longer & looked better @ the end of the day. What was really irritating was the fact that the eye w/the Base took so much more work to wash my eye makeup off at night & TexasLash tubes right off w/o even using eye makeup remover! Its not worth the extra step to put on in the morning & it is definitely not worth the extra work to get off @ night :/

Palettes -Smashbox - Glambox Vol 2 The Supernaturals
genabobena 2/17/2008 8:28:00 PM
I saw this online & had to run out to find it (which was a pain b/c it is only sold at smashbox.com & Nordstrom). The set is a steal since it's only $68 but valued at $184. It includes a travel Photo Finish Foundation Primer with Dermaxyl, e/s Quad in Supernatural, Fusion Soft Lights Palette in Natural Glow, Half Moon Brush, Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Bronze, Arced Liner Brush #21, Mini Lip Enhancing Gloss in Bare and Mini Lip Enhancing Gloss in Aura.
I love the Fusion Soft Lights Palette, it was so easy to put on & blended in seamlessly, just giving me a natural glow (just like the name). The e/s quad is great as well. The colors are pink quartz, a yellow-gold, copper, deep bronze. As w/all Smashbox e/s, the quality is amazing. They're pigmented well, blend easily, & last throughout the day. The e/l is a gorgeous bronze color, it goes on smoothly & is waterproof so it lasts the entire day. By far, my favorite part of the kit was the l/g. Bare is a gorgeous bronze shimmer & Aura is a beautiful light pink shimmer. They're well pigmented, not sticky but thick enough to last awhile. The 2 colors looked great used seperately, but mix them together & it looks amazing- a perfect pinky-nude shimmer lip.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Kajiki Eyshadow Duo
genabobena 2/17/2008 1:26:00 AM
I am starting to doubt the quality of the duos as this is the 2nd one I've tried (Orchid being the first) & I have not been impressed by either one. The pigment quality & blendablity (not sure if that is even a word) is lacking. After trying a Stila quad, I was hooked & went out to buy more e/s. I picked this up b/c I loved the colors but the lighter teal wasn't very pigmented & barely showed up on me. And the darker color showed up but refused to budge...except for 30min later when it completely disappeared into my crease! I'm taking this one back & sticking to Stila single pan e/s.

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Big Fatty Lip Plumper
genabobena 2/17/2008 1:23:00 AM
Got this deluxe sample from Sephora as I'm on the hunt for my HG lip plumper...all I can say is that this definitely was NOT it! After I put it on, I didn't feel anything so I assumed it wasn't going to be a tingle plumper. Wow was I wrong. 5 minutes later, by lips were burning so badly that I ran outside & shoved a snowball against my lips just to get some relief. I could've dealt w/the pain if I saw any plumping results whatsoever but it burned the living daylights out of my lips & didn't even plump them. I will definitely not be purchasing & my HG lip plumper hunt continues :/

Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Brow Wiz
genabobena 2/17/2008 1:01:00 AM
I am a marketer's dream, I saw this in the Sephora catalog & had to run out & buy it even though I have a Smashbox brow tech that has barely been touched. I did like the actual product, the teeny tiny tip helps to fill in those thin brow lines & the spooley @ the other end was very convenient. The packaging is very deceiving though- for $19 you only get 0.0028oz, while for $24 I can get .055oz in the Smashbox brow tech. I think I'll stick to the Smashbox in the future.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide on eye pencil in Yeyo
genabobena 2/16/2008 9:47:00 PM
I love to use a shimmery white eye liner on the inner corner of my eyes to open them up & brighten them. This pencil is perfect for that & now my HG white e/l! It is so soft & doesn't tug on that delicate area & once it was dry, it didn't budge even when I rubbed my eyes during the day. I will definitely be buying more of these in the future!

Eye Shadow -Stila - Eye Shadow Quad in Montmartre
genabobena 2/15/2008 10:25:00 PM
I bought the Marrakesh quad & fell in love w/Stila e/s so I decided I must buy this quad as well. The pans are pretty small, which I could deal w/in the Marrakesh palette b/c the colors are beautiful & look great on, but the colors in this set didn't wow me once I got them on. The colors weren't as pigmented & didn't even show up on me. This one is going back & I think I'll buy a backup of the Marrakesh quad instead.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Orchid Duo

I have to agree w/the other reviewer, the pigment quality & blendablity (not sure if that is even a word) is lacking in this duo. After trying a Stila quad, I was hooked & went out to buy more e/s. I picked this up b/c I loved the colors but the lighter purple wasn't very pigmented & barely showed up on me. And the darker purple showed up but refused to budge...except for 30min later when it completely disappeared into my crease! I'm taking this one back, & sticking to Stila single pan e/s.

Lip Liners -Sephora - maniac 6
genabobena 2/6/2008 10:36:00 PM
I bought the #12 Miel Dement (matte beige putty) & I love it! It is the perfect nude lip liner. It helps keep my lip products from bleeding & if I use it all over my lips, it helps my lip gloss & lipsticks last way longer than it normally would. Plus it goes on smoothly (no tugging!). And I can't forget to mention that it's super cheap!

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - On10 - Dr. Pepper lip balm
genabobena 2/4/2008 10:21:00 PM
I saw this on Sephora's website & couldn't wait to try it b/c I LOVE flavored lip balms & glosses. Plus the packing is really cute. I tried it in the store, and while it smelled great (just like a can of Dr. Pepper), it didn't have any hint of flavor. You're better off buying a Bonne Bell Dr. Pepper lipsmacker for half the price.

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - on10 - Hershey's Sweet Milk Chocolate lip balm
genabobena 2/4/2008 10:17:00 PM
I saw this on Sephora's website & couldn't wait to try it b/c I LOVE flavored lip balms & glosses. I tried it in the store, and while it smelled amazing (just like a Hershey's chocolate bar), it didn't have any hint of a chocolate flavor. Needless to say, I was so disappointed & didn't end up buying it :{

Cleansers -Sephora - Make-up remover wipes
genabobena 2/4/2008
I love to use these when I come home late & feel too lazy to wash my face. They don;t dry my face out or make me break out. The only con I have is that they burned when I tried to use them to remove my eye makeup so I would keep them to just face & lip makeup removal.

Lip Gloss -Too Faced - FUZE Slenderize Guilt Free Lip Gloss - Strawberry Melon
genabobena 2/3/2008 1:02:00 AM
I really wanted to like this, as I love TF & Fuze drinks, but it just didn't do anything for me. The gloss went on almost completely clear (which is great, but not when you're spending $19). I don't know what the other reviews were tasting, maybe I got a bad tube, but I didn't get any taste & it barely had any scent The only redeeming factor was that it glided on smoothly & wasn't goopy.
