Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Infallible Eyeshadow - Bronzed Taupe

When I first started seeing reviews pop up on these I was SO intrigued. I'd been tempted to try the GA Eyes to Kill but can't fathom spending so much on an eyeshadow. I own eleven of these so far (lol). This shade stands out from the crowd, it's AMAZING. My eyelids are very oily and even with a primer my eyeshadows are usually gone in 6-7 hours tops. I have used this eyeshadow a ton with the same result. With no primer, this stays looking good for 10 hours on my lids. TEN HOURS (yes, it claims 24 hours but we all know how outrageous cosmetics claims are). Even after it starts to fade and crease, you can still see where it was applied, it doesn't just disappear like most other eyeshadows. This one impresses me so much, it's really fantastic, extremely pigmented and simply gorgeous. I keep one at home and one in my makeup bag so I never have to be without it :)

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
rated 5 of 5
fustyluggz 2/16/2012 10:12:00 AM

I have to eat a bit of crow after my original review on this mascara as it was less than glowing. I have purchased this mascara three times. The first two times, I was completely unimpressed and I tossed it in the trash immediately after trying it. After continuing to read so many positive reviews, I decided to try it one more time and I am SO glad that I did. I have a pretty decent amount of pages but they are short and some stick straight down so I need a mascara that can hold a curl. This mascara is a nice one-coater, which is also important to me. This gives me very black, long and decently volumized lashes. The curl lasts all day and the formula does not smudge or flake. I have to say that I'm very impressed considering the price of this. I ran out and got my friend a tube too so I could spread the love, I'll probably buy my mom, sister and other friend some too. This is one item that deserves the hype.

Polishes -Butter London - Big Smoke
rated 5 of 5
fustyluggz 1/31/2012 10:34:00 AM

Oh, Big Smoke. This color really stands out among my blue collection. I've never seen another color quite like it. It's navy but it's soft, slightly metallic, lightly smokey... It reminds me of blue jeans and sapphires. The formula of Butter London polishes are fantastic, IMO. Two coats make this completely opaque and it wears well on me. I spend all day all day typing do I usually end up with tip wear after a few days but never any chipping. This polish is so, so lovely and it's definitely one of my favorites. Will absolutely repurchase.

This. Stuff. Is. AMAZING. I got the color London Baby and it instantly topped the list of my favorite gel liners. The color is a gorgeous taupe/gunmetal type color, the texture of this is amazingly soft (similar to my previous favorite - Cinque), it's very pigmented, lasts all day and it's CHEAP. I can't say enough good things about it. Love.

Fragrances -Lolita Lempicka - L de Lolita Lempicka
rated 5 of 5

This has become my favorite perfume. I absolutely love the spicy cinnamon that melts into a gorgeous creamy vanilla scent. This lasts all day on me. The bottle is just gorgeous, it looks like a gem you'd find at the bottom of the ocean... and my name starts with an L so that doesn't hurt. It looks very lovely amongst my other bottles. This scent has a unique factor that really sweets it apart from all the other gourmand scents our there, it's got that little unexpected kick. I'm happy to say that I finally have a signature fragrance with this.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Color Infallible Eyeshadow Endless Chocolate 12

When I first started seeing reviews pop up on these I was SO intrigued. I'd been tempted to try the GA Eyes to Kill but can't fathom spending so much on an eyeshadow. I own two of these so far, this one and Perpetual Purple (which I do NOT like). This shade, however, is AMAZING. My eyelids are very oily and even with a primer my eyeshadows are usually gone in 6-7 hours tops. I have used this eyeshadow several times now with the same result. This one impresses me so much that I'm willing to overlook how disappointed I am in the other one I purchased and try a few other colors. If those disappoint as well, at least I have a real winner in this product. It's really fantastic, extremely pigmented and simply gorgeous.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow
rated 3 of 5
fustyluggz 12/29/2011 8:45:00 PM

I am I huge fan of MAC Paint Pots so when I first started seeing reviews about these I got VERY excited. I now own 4 of these and I find that they're actually much more comparable to the MUFE Aqua Cream eyeshadows than MAC Paint Pots... and there's a reason I don't own any Aqua Creams. The texture of these are creamy but very thin. I find that two of the ones I own are very pigmented and go on nicely (Bad to the Bronze, Tough as Taupe) and the other two have barely any pigment, take multiple layers to show up and don't last nearly as long (Audacious Asphalt, Painted Purple). I was really hoping to find a good, cheap alternative to my beloved Paint Pots but I'm really kind of let down by these. I get maybe 4-5 hours wear out of them on my (admittedly oily) eyelids and then they're gone without a trace. The only one that I'd really be willing to repurchase is Bad to the Bronze which is the standout shade of the ones I have - and the best performer.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Quite Natural
rated 4 of 5
fustyluggz 12/28/2011 8:54:00 AM

As a cream eyeshadow or a primer, I'd give this product two lippies. It's been my least used paint pot due to it's texture. This goes on patchy and uneven, it fades quicker than my other paint pots and is generally disappointing. I was ready to write it off until I read about people using it on their brows. I was intrigued and decided to give it a try. I haven't wanted too use anything else on my brows since. It goes on easily, blends to look natural, lasts ALL day without fading or moving. Who would have thought? The only reason I deduct a lippie from using it this way is that it is a pretty warm brown on my skin but it still looks natural enough I can get away with it.

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Gel Creamliner (all)
rated 5 of 5
fustyluggz 12/19/2011 2:30:00 PM

I could seriously kick myself for not trying these earlier. I'm pretty cheap, however, and didn't pick them up until I saw them 75% off at CVS even though I've wanted to try them forever. I've been using them every day since purchasing them, especially the brown in the hazel eyes stack. These really rival high end gel liners, they remind me the most of the Cinque ones (which are my favorites). For the price I got these, they were an absolute steal. The packaging idea is cute. I like that they're attachable for easy transport but it is still pretty cheap packaging so the lids don't always line up properly. The colors I've used have been very well pigmented and have lasted all day without fading or transferring. Really, really great product.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
rated 5 of 5
fustyluggz 12/16/2011 9:49:00 PM

So. When the first Naked palette came along I had a 6 month long obsession with it before I finally purchased it and since then I've used it a grand total of three times. When this one came out, I felt the same spark and I decided to take the plunge on the first release, hoping beyond hope for better results. It was worth the leap of faith. There are only two colors in the palette that I'm not crazy about (Half Baked & Chopper), the rest are absolutely gorgeous and, most importantly, not too warm for my cool toned skin. The packaging is SUCH a major improvement over the first palette. It's sturdy, has some heft to it, doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart and won't get as filthy as the original. I'm not a fan of the brush that came with it, but that's a minor letdown as the shadows are really superb. I feel like the combination of the two palettes really gives me every neutral shade I need to last me forever (I'm not really into matte eyeshadow). This palette, for me, blows the first one out of the water and I will be getting a lot of use out of it.

Blush -Tarte - Natural Beauty Cheek Stain
rated 5 of 5
fustyluggz 12/16/2011 9:00:00 PM

I cannot even express how much I love this product. I've never been a big fan of cream blushes, I've never really been able to figure out how to work them, never found the right color, etc. This product is SO fantastic. It's easy to work with, easy to blend, looks wonderful, lasts ALL day (even on my super oily skin). I am really, seriously blown away by this. I just swirl my ring finger over the top of the product, dab it on both cheeks and blend it out with a flat top brush - sometimes I'll add just a bit more to the apples of my cheeks. The does give the perfect just in from the snow, just got an amazing kiss, post coital flush that everyone else has described. I got a really good price for it on eBay but I honestly think I'd not hesitate to pay full price for it, I love it that much. Great, great product.

Lips -Laura Mercier - Lip Stain in Mulberry
rated 4 of 5
fustyluggz 12/16/2011 8:40:00 PM

I'm kind of surprised by the low ratings on this product. The color is absolutely gorgeous, the perfect daily understated red. The texture is almost like a very thick balm, verging on a potted lipstick. For those who say that it doesn't actually stain, I think they're putting on way too much. I put on two thin layers with my finger and let it set for a while. I then pressed my lips to the back of my hand several times and barely anything came off. I ate some potato chips, had a few drinks... lips still look exactly the same. You barely have to use any of this to get a gorgeous look so it will last a VERY long time. I got this on eBay for about 1/2 retail price so it's a great value. I'd gladly pay full price for this, however, it's just that good. This is my first Laura Mercier product and I'm actually quite impressed. I really love this stuff.

Lipstick -Tarte - Natural Lip Stain with LipSurgence in Moody
rated 3 of 5
fustyluggz 12/9/2011 9:48:00 AM

I've been wanting to try the Tarte Lip Stains for a long time. I finally caved and picked this one up. I really love the color, it's not berry on me, it definitely looks like more of a brown red which is great because that's exactly what I wanted. I'm not sure how these can be sold as lip stains, they really don't do any staining. They feel and look like a tinted lip balm. It lasts about as long as one as well, unfortunately. For $24 the price initially seems steep but you really don't need much so it will last a long time. The packaging is cute, it looks like a lip pencil but you don't have to sharpen it so that's handy. The lid is a bit difficult to get off and you have to be careful putting it back on while it's still new enough for the tip to stick up. Since this is sold as a stain and it doesn't do that, I wouldn't repurchase.

Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep
rated 5 of 5
fustyluggz 12/3/2011 10:49:00 AM

There aren't many products that I purchase repeatedly, I'm a sucker for always trying something new, wanting to find something better. I have been using this product for years and, though I've tried other things, I've yet to find anything better. I have problems with dry scalp and the anti-dandruff shampoo that I have to use dries my hair out very badly. I use this afterward and I'm left with very soft, shiny, manageable hair. My hair is about down to my shoulder blades, it's wavy/bordering on curly and gets frizzy and oily and it's just a general mess most of the time. This makes me feel like I have shampoo commercial hair - like it's bouncy and gorgeous and will blind people if they stare directly into it. For the price, this product is really amazing and I will continue to purchase it for as long as they make it.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
rated 4 of 5
fustyluggz 11/29/2011 12:14:00 PM

I had this lipgloss sitting on my desk a few weeks ago and one of my coworkers walked by and said "Hey! I have that too!". I thought she meant she had the same brand but turns out she had the exact same shade. She isn't into makeup, I am. She's got different coloring than me, her style is is different than mine. My point in all of this is that this shade can work very well for a wide variety of people. This is one of my favorite nude type glosses. The texture is good, it's not too sticky and it's well pigmented. Excellent product.
