Lipstick -MAC - Frost Lipstick in Plastique
eviestevie 8/12/2003 2:12:00 PM
i'm a MMM with yellow undertones. this lipstick looks dark bronze in the tube, but goes on a beautiful light shimmery bronze with pink gold undertones on my lips. i love MAC's lipsticks for their unique color selection, quality, and staying power. though i am only on the first tube, i KNOW it's not the last! a very nice YLBB look.

Lipstick -Revlon - Moisturous Lipcolor- Sweetwater Pink
eviestevie 8/10/2003 2:48:00 AM
like most others rating this, i initially got this as a magazine sample. i liked it so much i bought a tube. i'm a MMM with yellow undertones. it looks bright baby pink in the tube, but one me a nice light frosty pink. the moisturous line of lipsticks is the only one of Revlon's that i can stand. there is none of that chemically smell i usually associate with other revlon lines, and it does not peel my lips. it is indeed moisturous and has great staying power. with SPF of 17 on top of that, it's one of the best brand of lipsticks out there.

Lipstick -Revlon - Moisturous Lipstick- Tangerine Burst

the color has already been described well. i'm a MMM with yellow undertones. though this isn't a true orange, it is a beautiful color. the moisturous line of lipsticks is the only one of Revlon's that i can stand. there is none of that chemically smell and it does not peel my lips. it is indeed moisturous and has great staying power. with SPF of 17 on top of that, it's one of the best brand of lipsticks out there. for a true orange, i recommend MAC's CB96, but for a nice reddish orange, this is fantastic.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Color Juice - Strawberry Smoothie
eviestevie 8/10/2003 2:35:00 AM
this is so pretty in the tube. i only wished the color seen was what showed up on lips. though the quality of CJ's are awesome (staying power, texture, nice smell), i have problems with all of the CJ's looking alike on my lips because of the lack of pigments. this one is very sheer if worn alone, almost to the point of being a clear gloss. the color is a peach with gold undertones, so it kinda reminded me of MAC's nymphette. but you really have to look hard for the coloring. if the pigments weren't so lacking, this would have been a great cheaper alternative to nymphette.

Lip Gloss -Bourjois - Effet 3-D Glossy Lipstick Orange Tonic 58
eviestevie 7/28/2003 1:56:00 PM
somewhat sheer, but a very nice light orange peach color with a little gold shimmer. hardly sticky at all, felt more like water on my lips, and incredible staying power. bourjois is the least sticky gloss out of my lot of MAC lipglasses, MAC lipstains, Loreal CJ, Chanel glossimers, and Stila lipglazes.

Lipstick -Chanel - Infrarouge - Mango Glacé
eviestevie 7/27/2003 9:58:00 PM
$22.50 for a lipstick is a little steep when there are so many other options out there with just as good quality and better staying power. anyhow with that said, it's still a beautiful color. it's a shimmery peachy/pink/coral color that would work well with a lot of skin tones. it kinda looks orange in the tube, but that does not come through on my lips at all. i get more of the peach and pink. staying power and texture are ok. when i wear this i do have to reapply often, and then it starts to get clumpy on my lips. my lips also dry out with this.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Cleo Duo
eviestevie 7/27/2003 9:49:00 PM
this was my first NARS eyeshadow purchase and i am so impressed with the staying power and quality. the two colors: 1) light seafoam green 2) a mix between a navy and forrest green.... the color combo is absolutely beautiful! it looks blue-green once the two are applied to the eyes and for those wanting to experiment with a green/blue shadow and don't know where to start, this is it! this can work for so many different skin colors.

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Lip Color Orange
eviestevie 7/18/2003 5:15:00 AM
this goes on a burnt orange color initially. i use a nude lipliner to darken it up (neutralize) or no lipliner to get more of the orange. it's a very matte universal orange and probably suitable for a variety of skin colors, but best on tanned or darker skins. however, longterm wear it did not fare well. if you have to reapply, it gets clumpy and turns a garish orange instead of the nice burnt orange that it initially went on as.

Lipstick -MAC - CB96
eviestevie 7/15/2003 11:56:00 PM
i think i've finally found my staple orange lipstick! this looks incredibly scary in the tube (very bright orange) but take the risk! it's actually a frosty peachy orange with gold undertones. the orange is not the orange say off the fruit, but rather the orange off of a creamsicle. sooooo pretty. this was my first MAC lipstick and i am thoroughly impressed with the texture, staying power, and moisturizing abilities. if you're looking for a nice summery color this is it!

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 30
eviestevie 6/11/2003 3:27:00 PM
i have been looking for an spf30 that does not leave a white cast, good for sensitive skin, and good for oily skin. so far this seems to fit all the bills. i've used Coppertone faces spf 30 and that stung my face and eyes, making me think i may be allergic to parsol 1789. so i stuck to physical sunscreens containing only titanium or zinc. the physical sunblocks always seemed to leave the ghost cast. and the ones that didn't weren't oil free or didn't have a high enuf spf. got a free sample of the ultra sheer and though it contains parsol 1789 as its spf, i decided to try it. wonderful! only slight eye stinging (i guess i am allergic a little), light weight, great price, no white cast, matte finish for oily skin, and high spf. there is a spf 45 out there which i might try at a later date, but for now, this has become my staple. to combat the stinging in my eyes when i use this, i just use OoO total SPF 15 around the eye area and the sheer for the rest of my face.

Sunscreen -DDF - Organic Sunblock Spf 30 [DISCONTINUED]
eviestevie 5/3/2003 3:21:00 PM
though this was a non oily and easily spreadable sunscreen, it left a white cast on my face that would not go away. i like the fact that it used physical barriers (titanium and zinc oxide) for the spf 30, great for my sensitive skin and level i need. it would have been perfect if not for the ghost look.

Moisturizers -Clinique - City block Sheer SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]
eviestevie 5/1/2003 3:22:00 PM
still on my quest to find the perfect spf/moisturizer for sensitive oily skin, but this is ok. it's slightly tinted so i don't get the ghost effect i did with DDF organic and there are no chemical sunscreens so i don't have a reaction. the active ingredients are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. if they can make this exact same formulation in spf 30, it would be dern close to my HG. it's oil free and for the most part i stay non shiny through mid day. too bad you only get 1.4 oz for the silly price.

Moisturizers -Olay - Olay Complete - Fragrance Free
eviestevie 5/1/2003 3:16:00 PM
i'm still looking for the perfect spf/moisturizer that is oil free and good for sensitive skin. until then, OoO complete will work in the interim. though i would like to see it in a higher spf, the 15 is adequate. the sunscreen is physical, not chemical, so my sensitive skin had no reactions to it. it does work best for those with dry skin cause it is not oil-free but it isn't as thick as i thought it would be, so for my oily skin, it's ok. it does leave shine toward mid-end of the day so i have to bust out the blotting papers.
