Mascara -Unlisted Brand - geogirl FYEO (ForYourEyesOnly) Feather Lash mascara Brown
dpet0153 8/22/2012 12:36:00 AM
I love this mascara! It was kind of a gamble buying this, because I had no idea how the brush looked, but I took the chance and was glad I did. It gives my eyelashes a really subtle look. It's not a dramatic mascara, but I like it, especially on the lower lashes. I haven't experienced any flaking with this, which is a success! I only wish the tube wasnt so small. I think I'll buy this again soon

Mascara -Essence - Multi Action Mascara
dpet0153 8/22/2012 12:30:00 AM
This mascara is very thick and clumpy. The clumps are really distractingly noticeable. I find it'll apply okay if I wipe of the brush with a tissue every time..which is wasteful of course, so I'm close to just tossing this. It also comes off under my eyes in small flakes, a pattern I've noticed in Essence mascaras. Needless to say, their mascaras aren't really the best of what they have to offer.

Eyeliner -Essence - Gel Eyeliner
dpet0153 8/22/2012 12:22:00 AM
Oh my gosh, best gel liner ever! I cannot believe how underrated this stuff is! It's creamy, it doesn't flake, it hasn't dried up in the two months I've owned it, and it's affordable. I can't express how awesome this stuff is...and I can't believe how cheap this is. This is definitely worth trying if you like gel eyeliner. And I really think it holds up as well as the high end gel liners...or maybe even better

Eye Primer -Essence - I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base
dpet0153 8/22/2012 12:15:00 AM
I Love Stage is a perfect eyeshadow base. It really makes things stick, and my eyeshadow will stay looking neat all day. It doesn't do the whole intensifying the color thing that people want, but I don't think it's supposed to do that. It just makes for a nice base so your eyeshadow won't budge. This stuff is the best eyeshadow primer I've tried, and it's super affordable. Essence has some really impressive products, and this one is no exception...I highly recommend this

Bronzers -Too Faced - Peach Leopard
dpet0153 8/16/2012 11:17:00 AM
Peach Leopard has really delivered for me. It works nicely on my fair skin, but I would never use this all over my face as a bronzer, it is definitely too peach to work as a straight up bronzer on me. It works better as a highlight on my cheekbones or over a peach blush. It just makes me look like I've gotten a little bit of sun...or at least how I think I'd look if I actually was able to get a tan without burning. Oh and about that shimmer! I was very afraid of that, because I really hate shimmer, but this is almost undetectable. It just has a very subtle champagne colored shimmer that adds a very slight glow. The combination of peach, bronze, and champagne shimmer really lights up my face. It is definitely prettier than any matte bronzer I've used, and looks just as natural. I apply it with an ecotools finishing kabuki, which is really fluffy and picks up a very light amount of product, works perfectly. And after I've raved about this, you may be wondering why I only gave it 4 lippies. Well, for what you get, I think this is a little too expensive (with tax, it came out around $30). I honestly don't use this everyday, and don't feel like I get enough use to justify spending that much on it. As far as cons with the product itself, it does tend to compete with my other make up, if that makes sense. It looks best with minimal makeup. Eventually if I use this all up, I may repurchase this.

Lipstick -NARS - Fire Down Below
dpet0153 8/16/2012 11:01:00 AM
I really like this color, it's a true red, dark, resembling blood. It has incredible lasting power and really stains the lips. It lasts about 8 hours. After that it fades noticeably. Reds tend to turn fuschia or pink on me, but this one is really the truest dark red ive ever found. This is my HG lipstick, and I've been wearing this almost every day for the past month. Update: seriously lasted about 8 hours, the color stayed most true with finishing powder dusted over it. Perfect!

Powder -Essence - Mattifying Compact Powder
dpet0153 8/15/2012 8:42:00 PM
I adore this stuff! It is the only mattifying powder that'll actually keep my nose from looking oily. I gave up on mattifying products a long time ago, but this was cheap and I went ahead and bought it. I'm certainly glad I did. I only wear this on my nose. I tried this on my chin, but it looked too chalky and matte. I apply this with a powder puff and it seriously does last like crazy! A warning though, with the packaging, you get what you paid for. I dropped this only a few centimeters, it didn't break but the powder sort of broke a little. I'm still going to repurchase, I just have to remember to try not to drop it. Essence is awesome.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Silk Finish Lipstick in 508A Black Orchid
dpet0153 8/15/2012 8:31:00 PM
I agree with the reviewer that compared this to Clinique Black Honey, I cant think of a better description! This is a very dark and opaque lipstick, but a little too opaque. it's very hard to apply. I do not recommend just putting this right on your lips. It looks better (and more neat) if you smear some on your index finger and then apply it onto your lips. It's so pigmented. I'm impressed. I got this on sale for like 40 cents, which is unbeatable. Edit: after wearing this all day, my lips were so dry. Because of that and how much of a pain it is to apply, I might stop using it.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Blackberry
dpet0153 8/15/2012 8:19:00 PM
This lipstick is great. It's a deep red. It leaves the lips with a gorgeous stain after it wears off. An awesome color for fall. It is also an exact dupe (in my opinion) of Nars Fire Down Below, swatched on my hand next to each other, they looked about identical Edit: I changed my rating on this one because, I sort of stopped wearing this because it's so slippery on my lips and just doesn't last. it bleeds and smears too much. Also the packaging is pretty bad, because the cap is always falling off. So it's not purse safe. Not going to buy again, instead I'll continue using NARS Fire Down Below, because it's the same color but with a matte finish that lasts all day. This one just wasn't worth the 7 or 8 bucks I paid for it

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Spicy Cinnamon
dpet0153 8/15/2012 8:03:00 PM
I agree with the reviews that say that the name is misleading, I was expecting a dark spicy red or brown. If you don't like berry tones, stay away. Anyway onto the review. Being pale, I enjoy experimenting with dark, bold lipsticks. I believe they create a nice contrast. However, when I bought this, I did not expect it to be THAT bold. I feel like it exceeds 'bold', and almost creeps into the garish zone. It's a burgundy that leans a little magenta, of all colors. I thought it would be a brick red, but I only see a slight brown undertone. I'm not loving this shade on myself but I think it could work on those who arent quite so...unusually pale. I don't even think it's the darkness of it, I think it's the pinky/purple tones that really took me by surprise. Also not helping with the garishness, there is a bit of shimmer, nothing horrendous. Swatched on my hand, the shimmer actually looks kind of pretty. But on my lips, it just doesn't look good on me. I think I'll wear this a little, using a light hand to apply.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Rum Raisin
dpet0153 8/15/2012 7:37:00 PM
Overall, this is a very good lipstick! It isn't one of those "your lips but better" lipsticks, it's too dark to be mistaken for a natural lip color. It leans a little warm, but looks fine on my cool toned skin. My sister has warmer tones, and it looks good on her too. I can't quite pin down the color. I think I'd describe it as ruby brown, with a stilght beige-pink tone. It can actually be built up to look very red and it has a very smooth finish and looks almost a little glowy. It doesnt settle into my lip's lines and cracks. I have no complaints about this one, go revlon!

Lipstick -Revlon - Superlustrous - Certainly Red
dpet0153 8/4/2012 10:27:00 PM
I bought this on a whim at Ulta. I adore red lipsticks and after looking at all of the options that revlon has to offer I thought Certainly Red would be perfect. It looked like a slightly dark true red, seemed perfect! But when I put it on my lips I was shocked by the pinkness! This shade should be called magenta red or freaking PINK red, but to call it Certainly Red is just deceitful, because it is certainly not red. I really just don't like pink-reds. If you do, that's great, you'll love this lipstick. Heck, that's why I give it a 3. There isn't really anything that bad about it, the formula is always great. But a warning, this isn't anything close to a true red.

Lips -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Red Velvet
dpet0153 6/27/2012 1:20:00 PM
I love this shade. I have slowly built up my own small collection of these magical lipsticks, or butters if you will. I have all of the red shades, and this one is my favorite! It's darker than any of the lip butters I own, and it can be easy to create a dramatic look if you're adventurous enough. However, you can just as easily create a more muted look if you apply it sparingly. I sometimes layer it with my cherry tart rlb so it doesn't look SO vampy. There's really not much else to say, there's really no surprises here, you get a deep red color that lives up to its name. And it's awesome. Well played Revlon. Edit: I've found this to turn sort of pink on me as it wears, therefore I don't use it as much, still not bad though

Tinted Moisturizer -Studio Gear - Studio Gear Tinted Moisturizer
dpet0153 6/26/2012 12:54:00 PM
HG tinted moisturizer!!! This stuff is tragically underrated. it's freaking amazing and the one face product I would buy over and over again. This is the perfect amount of moisture in a tm for my combination skin. It applies so smoothly and its non-greasy formulation is both rare and refreshing for a tinted moisturizer, and best of all it doesn't melt off my face, even in the hot summer months. The coverage is also impressive. My whole life I've had the most unforgiving dark circles of anyone I know, but I actually sometimes don't wear concealer over this. Maybe im just growing up and accepting my face for what is is, but either way this stuff does cover better than most tinted moisturizers. Speaking of concealer, when I apply concealer over this, it just sort of melts onto my skin and blend so beautifully. This comes in a large squeeze tube, and lasts a really long time. The price is a bonus. For 2 fl oz, it costs around $25. That is really an incredible deal. Update: I've been to three Ultas, and I noticed that none of them have this, and it's not listed on Ulta.com (the studio gear site wasn't working) so I think this has been discontinued. If anyone sees this somewhere, let me know where! Otherwise I guess my tinted moisturizer search is back on, ugh.

Blush -NYX - Rouge Cream Blush - Rose Petal
dpet0153 6/16/2012 12:55:00 AM
For the most part- I really like the consistancy of this blush. It is soft, creamy, and it packs a surprising color punch. However, I don't care for the finish it has. It makes me cheeks look kind of shiny. But not in a glowing way... it makes me look weirdly oily. I really love the Too Faced creme blush, it has a much more natural looking finish. I also really hate the way this particular color looks on my cheeks. I think it's a little too dark on my very fair skin. Albeit my aforementioned disappointment, I might pick up another shade of this stuff. I could see why people like this, and although I'm not one of them, I can always give this a second chance. And for around $6 a pop, I can actually afford to try this again. Edit: I gave it to my sister, and it looks much better on her warmer complexion
