Liquid -Almay - Smart Shade Makeup SPF 15

I was on the fence about trying this product considering some of the reviews I'd read, but it was on sale and I had a coupon, so I figured it wasn't too big of a risk. I have very oily acne-prone skin, and while the claims that the coverage is very sheer and closer to a tinted moisturizer are true, I have an awesome concealer that I love, so that wasn't a problem for me. I never experienced the orange-y look that many have complained about, and the Light shade matched my fair skin really well. It doesn't really last all day, but again - with such oily skin, I'm used to that. My biggest priority was finding something that matched my skin tone, and this does that perfectly. I think it would really be ideal for someone with much better skin than mine - it would give you a nice healthy look without too heavy of coverage. But I like it well enough and will likely buy it again.

Concealers -Almay - Amazing Lasting [DISCONTINUED]

Being a die-hard Maybelline Great Wear fanatic, I was on the hunt for something to replace it since it got d/c'ed. Well, Almay's "Amazing Lasting 16-hour Concealer" isn't it. And for me, it was neither amazing, nor lasting - not even a couple of hours, much less 16. I have extremely oily skin, and I need a concealer that really DOES stay put. I suppose this stuff would stay put for someone with normal to dry skin. But for me, it was gone within an hour. It just didn't meet my expectations or my needs. Thank goodness I found Revlon Colorstay Concealer or I'd be a mess... Will not repurchase.

Brows -BeneFit Cosmetics - Brow-Zing in Medium

I would never *NOT* repurchase this product. It's exactly what I've been searching for, for years... it's my eyebrow HG. I have VERY dark, VERY course, VERY unruly brows. For me, using a pencil to fill them in looked about as real as those balding guys who use that aerosol spray hoping it'll look like hair. The stiffness of the brush & the consistency of the wax allows me to shape my brows effectively, while the color is believable. And despite my oily skin, this stays put all day. My *only* complaints (which are minor) are that the tweezers are too tiny to be used for anything other than last minute spot-cleanup, and I can't manage to keep that mirror clean... it always gets goopy with wax. Anyway, I recommend it whole-heartedly to anyone who asks.

Lip Treatments -BeneFit Cosmetics - Smoooch [DISCONTINUED]

If it weren't for the price, this would definitely be my HG lip treatment. I've always had a bad habit of picking at my dry lips. One day, out of desperation (I've tried just about everything, including Origins Lip Remedy, with little success) I decided to see if BeneFit's Smoooch would live up to its promises... And it did! With consistent use, this stuff helped me get the lips I'd always dreamed of. It sounds to me like the reviews complaining about the texture or application of it are because it's not being applied properly. I scoop a glob or two and put it on each lip, and then blend it in with my fingertip. This is always really effective. This isn't a quick-fix kind of balm... but if you keep using it, you'll love the results and refuse to use anything else.

Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Garden Tomato Complexion Soap [DISCONTINUED]

I have extremely oily, acne-prone skin. It's hard for me to find products that are effective against my breakouts, but don't leave my skin a dry, irritated wasteland. From the moment I tried this soap, I've sworn by it. I won't use anything else. The smell is INCREDIBLE, and the soap itself is gentle yet effective. I finally look forward to washing my face now.
