Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Ecolips bee free lip balm

This lipbalm is the best! I won't use anything else. I picked it up at the cashier after the bright yellow tube caught my eyes. The ingredients look impressive. Most lipbalm contains beeswax but this one lists jojoba oil on the very top. This one has a slight lime scent which disappears quickly and it has no after taste. This one retails for less than $5 which I think is very cheap although I didn't expect such a good quality at this price. Love everything, won't change a thing! Ingredients: *Organic Jojoba Oil, *Organic Sunflower Oil, Candelilla Wax, *Organic Cocoa Butter, *Organic Lemon Oil, Vitamin E, *Organic Lime Oil, *Organic Calendula, Rosemary Extract, Vitamin C.
Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Healthy White Skin Lightening Lotion
diddyscafe 3/13/2011 4:22:00 PM
This is manufactured in the Philippines, and claims to contain Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide), sunscreen as well as yogurt serum. I'm not so keen on the scent, but it doesn't linger anyway. I never believe an OTC lotion can have any significant impact whatsoever on lightening one's skintone but this does sink in quickly and moisturizes alright. I would say it is an affordable but pretty average lotion, and I can name dozens better out there. Luckily I got this for free as a gift from their launching event.
Powder -The Body Shop - Moisture White Shiso Perfecting Foundation SPF25 PA++
diddyscafe 3/12/2011 1:46:00 PM
A decent powder foundation made in Japan. It is finely milled and non drying and that's how I like it. Good color selection for fair to medium Asian skintone. The price is reasonable, S$29 for refill and S$9 for the simple white plastic case with huge mirror. It does contain shiso leaf extract, but it's the last one on ingredient list so I'm not sure if it will have any impact whatsoever.
I had such a high hope for this shade, especially after loving Cyndi's version so much, I actually bought 5 backups!. But this shade is like concealer on my lips. Hmmm, not good. For a good nude on my Eurasian medium tone, I like Revlon Colorburst in Nude or Stila Highshine in Diane.
As a teenager growing up in the 90's, I remember this fragrance well when it was lauched at the height of the namesake TV show. I remember bunch of girls at school were sporting that "Brenda" haircut... wanting to dress up like Kelly or Donna... and does anyone here remember the 90210 lunchboxes...??? LOL, anyways... I saw this priced at $18 for an EDP 100ml yesterday and after chuckling on my own, I grabbed one. The fragrance itself is sort of a mixed burst of pineapple and freesia notes. It is unusual and youthful. Lasting power is rather poor on skin, about 3 hours only lasts the whole day on clothes. At this price, anyone can afford to respray. I love that it's so different from the kind of scent flooding the market nowadays. Apart from being nostalgic, it is a nice scent. Now if only I can get my hair to stay straight and shine like Brenda's....
Makeup Brushes -Lancome - Precision Cheek Brush #7

Yes, I have finally found THE blush brush. I own so many, from I-Nuovi, The Body Shop, Bobbi Brown, MAC... and now I have this, I'm thinking of giving the others away. It's really that good. If you are willing to splurge and keep one blush brush forever, then get this one! It's just fantastic.
Powder -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Healthy Glow Foundation
diddyscafe 2/18/2011 7:58:00 AM
This is a powder foundation version of the infamous Healthy Mix liquid. I believe this was just released in Asia in early 2011. The packaging has a pretty peachy pink lid with sifter and contains 5g of product. I didn't buy the kabuki brush sold separately with it because it felt kind of rough. It was a good, perfect size, but if you have other smaller kabuki brush, that will do. The coverage is pretty sheer, a concealer is definitely needed to cover up imperfections although yes, I could not feel anything and my skin can breathe. It has a strong apricot scent which might bother some people, but personally I like it. Overall I like it enough to finish mine, but not enough to repurchase this.
Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick - Strawberry Suede [DISCONTINUED]

Such a lovely color on my Eurasian fair to medium skin tone. In Asia it is priced at around $8, but fortunately I got it as a free gift with purchase. I never have any problems with it drying my lips out as I always slick on some lip balm underneath. I apply it directly from the tube, lightly blot and reapply. The lasting power is insane, even better than my Mac or Dior lipsticks. Tonight I just had a big Chinese dinner and it lasted through the entire feast. It only faded ever so slightly. Amazing!.
Charlie Gold is a delicious oriental-floral type of fragrance. As for this type of fragrance, we can expect the lasting power to be pretty good, at least better than fruity or floral type, and it does last quite a while on skin. The bottle is very simple but fits nicely in my palms and it usually can be had for less than $15 for a 100ml bottle. It is cheap but by no means a cheap smelling fragrance, here are the notes I took from a website: Top Note: Bergamot, Mandarin, Violet, Plum Middle Note: Freesia, Rose, Cinnamon Base Note: Cedar wood, Amber, Musk, Powdery notes, Vanilla I feel that while the initial spritz might be strong and alcoholic, it will mellow to a softer, warmer dry down. I suggest waiting at least for half an hour for the fragrance to develop, and then it becomes very nice.
I remember the huge poster of Claudia Schiffer in a gorgeous red silk dress at Myer department store Sydney in the early 90's. The scent wafting in the air and it was wonderful but it didn't persuade me enough to buy it as I was too young to wear this kind of scent. Fast forward to 2011 and I took another sniff. It smells just as wonderful, warm, inviting but not cloying. Got a huge 100ml eau de toilette bottle with a free 50ml thrown in for only $15!. Lasting power on me is about 4 hours, which is the standard for EDT. The bottle is very basic, but the scent is not. Orange blossoms, jasmine, gardenia along with amber and musk.
Revlon is sold at department stores in some part of Asia and when I picked up the tester, the SA slightly discouraged me to try it on saying it was going to be too bright. Anyways... this color really brightens up my Eurasian light to medium complexion and makes my teeth look whiter. It is true red!. I'm usually a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl but there's something about putting on this color, especially with the matching nail polish, that makes me feel like a vixen in 1930's Shanghai.
Fantastic! I was so paranoid this would cause breakouts but so far it doesn't!. My skin got really sensitive at one point, it was dry, red and flaky. I considered buying more expensive creams (even La Mer, SKII) before I suddenly got so fed up and just wanted to use something simple. I remember my mom and aunties using this back in the 80's and I loved the scent so I grabbed a 50ml jar for less than $5. In Asia it's so widely available. My skin is now soft, soft, soft... like a baby's.
The initial spritz is nice but the dry down is really generic. There are countless similar fragrances out there, such as the most current celebrity scents. The bottle is really pretty though.
After watching the fabulous, ingenious TV ad with Kate Moss in leather bustier on bed of pink roses with Depeche Mode soundtrack, I was so curious to try it and after one sniff, I had to have it. Love the scent, the ad, the color, the packaging, basically the whole persona... The dry down on me is spicy, peppery rose scent. Very sexy yet sweet at the same time. Lasting power is good, about 6 hours plus depending on weather. Price is alright if bought at duty free shops where there was even a duo pack with attractive price. I'm very picky about fragrances yet I love this, so don't let the low ratings deter you.
I was fortunate to receive two refillable 50ml bottles for free which I always carry in my bag and while travelling. At home I have the bigger 100ml size in the bathroom and on my bedside table. Then I have the gigantic 500ml size placed on reserve as well... That's how much I love this scent. It has sort of become my signature scent, it is very uplifting, a pure "wake me up" scent, then it dries down to a soft woodsy note. Somehow it can manage to smell both casual and classy. The price is also very reasonable and justified, considering how long the scent really lasts on me, therefore only a few spritzes is needed. When combined with the matching body lotion, the lasting power is incredible, some 12+ hours... I love this scent with all my heart and hope they will never, ever discontinue it.
