Lips -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Glossy Lip Tint
rated 4 of 5
decoydream 12/26/2012 2:24:00 AM

I bought two - manic pink (which I haven't opened yet) and boudoir pink which is a nude pink colour. The concept is pretty much the same as Cliniques chubby sticks and these are quite good. They're sheer but buildable and very easy to use. I haven't had any problems with breakage or application (though, with all lip colour usage, exfoliate your lips beforehand!) though the boudoir pink colour is a little light to suit my complexion. I usually wear this over a very light stain or dab of a darker pink colour and it looks great!

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Sexy Little Things Noir
rated 3 of 5
decoydream 12/26/2012 2:19:00 AM

It's a yummy scent (smells like fruit salad and vanilla cream on me) but its downfall is that it doesn't last long on my skin or clothes . The packaging is cute but slightly awkward when I'm spritzing my wrists, it comes with a travel cap though so I can just unscrew that and dab some onto my wrists and behind my ears. If the scent was a little more potent, then I would repurchase since its a relatively inexpensive perfume at $50!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous in Carbon Black
rated 2 of 5
decoydream 12/26/2012 2:15:00 AM

A slightly below average mascara that has a penchant for smudging under the eyes. It's decent at holding a curl and the colour is a true black. To finish up the tube, I wear this and then a max factor mascara on top to get the look I want with the insurance that it won't smudge during the day.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Matte
rated 4 of 5
decoydream 12/26/2012 2:13:00 AM

Oh NARS, how I wish I could love you. The PROs: - NARS has a really good colour selection, especially for yellow toned people like me (I'm Asian, just in case you're wondering). Punjab suits me perfectly in the Australian summertime when I get about 2 shades darker than my usual skin tone (probably about NC27 if there is such thing...) - it does a decent job at glossing over my enlarged pores and doesn't make me look any grosser than usual -photographs reasonably well in flash - matte without being mask like and your skin still looked like skin! The CONs: - got a little darker towards the end of the day but it was by no means the dreaded Oompa Loompa look. - very very light coverage. After using Estée lauders max coverage foundation for many months, this was like using a tinted moisterizer. Generally, I prefer medium to full coverage foundation for my acne scarred face. However, for people with reasonably good skin, this would look good on you! - the price. Although it is a decent foundation, you can get much better for the $70 AUD (or $45 USD I believe, at Sephora). Bourjois healthy mix is actually preferable to this and that's more than half the price! - a bad look for dry spots. Also, you have to work fast with the foundation so it doesn't set too quick. Just do parts of your face at a time and you should be fine. - packaging is typically annoying. It should be law that all foundations come with pumps. Although, I can't really recommend it, it's a solid foundation for people with combination to oily skin that is not terribly problematic. People who are used to tinted moisturisers or are starting out on foundation would suit this. EDIT! EDIT! 2/1/13: I've changed my mind! I can now confidently give this 4 stars because i've figured out what i've been doing wrong. APPLY WITH FINGERS! It makes an absolute world of difference. The coverage is better and more natural, there's no patchy spots and it stays on for a lot longer. I usually hate the feeling of putting on foundation with my fingers, but it really works with this formulation.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner - Brown
rated 5 of 5
decoydream 12/26/2012 1:59:00 AM

A fantastic (and inexpensive- hooray!) everyday liquid liner that you can depend on. Formulation is runny and smooth but manages not to get everywhere. It dries in an appropriate amount of time so you're not left fanning your face trying to get it to dry. The brush applicator is actually very good in that it can draw really thin lines with precision and minimal mess. I also like the dark brown colour because its a little less harsh than straight black. Only downside is that they don't sell WnW in Australia so i'll have to order online or wait until I visit the US again! Overall, Thumbs up for this liner!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Tough as Taupe
rated 4 of 5
decoydream 12/26/2012 1:53:00 AM

I agree with a lot of other reviewers in saying that this leans much more towards a matte mid toned grey when applied. It's not a bad thing though because it becomes highly versatile in that you can layer other eyeshadows on top, use it as a smudgey eyeliner that's less intense than black kohl and by itself. The formulation is great (especially considering I have had no luck and therefore no faith in cream eyeshadows since they always crease!) and is easiest to apply with fingers straight onto the lid (work quickly and in thin layers). I'm not too sure whether it does stay on for 24 hours but it definitely lasts a good 10 hours without primer underneath! I would definitely buy again but I wish they came out with more wearable colours. The blue, purple and orange look amazing but i could never pull it off without looking like an extra from cirque du soliel!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
rated 4 of 5
decoydream 12/26/2012 1:46:00 AM

Compared to other gel liners I've used, this one is pretty fantastic. It lasts quite long (it does smudge the tiniest bit on monolids/hooded eyes- but you can barely tell) and it is so so simple to use. I use a bent eyeliner brush for thin lines and an angled brush for thicker lines and its pretty much no fuss. I can imagine this lasting a long time, and even if it does try a little bit, just pop it in the microwave for a second or two! For a quality product, I honestly don't think this is pricey at all.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Fig Jam
rated 5 of 5
decoydream 12/23/2012 4:58:00 AM

I love this product to absolute pieces. The formula is perfect - buttery, non greasy and I don't need to apply lip balm underneath. The colour is a brown/ dark red that is sheer but very much build able and I like wearing it for a fall/winter slightly vampy look without the fuss and maintenance of lipstick.

Brows -Shiseido - Natural Eyebrow Pencil in Natural Black
rated 5 of 5
decoydream 12/21/2012 9:57:00 PM

A must have for Asians like myself! I don't necessarily have sparse eyebrows but I do like to fill them in a little here and there. This brow pencil is perfection - easy to use, lasts all day and the COLOUR matches my brows perfectly! (Ashy grey colour). HG status for me.

Mascara -Max Factor - Masterpiece Max
rated 4 of 5
decoydream 12/21/2012 9:27:00 PM

I'm a firm believer in Max Factor mascaras- you really can't go wrong. They all provide the standard of black mascara that doesn't flake or give you raccoon eyes, gives you definition/length/volume and holds a decent curl. This one, in my experience at least, is particularly good at defining and separating lashes. It's my current go to mascara for daily use. Personally, my favourite out of all the MF I've tried is still probably the false lash effect but this one is pretty fantastic too!

Moisturizers -Simple - Light Moisturiser
rated 4 of 5
decoydream 12/15/2012 7:14:00 AM

A surprisingly good moisterizer! My face is extremely sensitive, acne prone and very oily and this didn't make my face burn, cause irritation, breakouts or any unpleasant feeling. It makes my skin feel moisturised without being excessively oily. I'm not sure how this will fare during the winter months, but for summer it's a lovely inexpensive option that's reliable!

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Intensive Night Cream
rated 2 of 5
decoydream 12/12/2012 6:32:00 PM

I have super mixed feelings about this product, so I'll let you decide after my review! I bought this because my face was a little dry and I thought it could do with a bit of love in the form of a night cream. I put it on, and my first impression was that the cream felt really nice to put on but then kicked in the retinol. I've never used retinol before in my life so I guess my skin reacted to it like a newbie. My skin broke out into the most hideous dry, painful and very very red rash all over my face. And just as luck would have it, I was going on holiday that day. None of my usual creams worked to help it (cliniques moisture surge) and everything hurt. But while I was on the plane, I smothered on some of Elizabeth Ardens 8 hour cream and although its quite thick, it soothed it somewhat. Now by this point, you're probably all scared of this product. But when I landed at my destination and was at the hotel, I pressed a warm damp cloth to my face and found that all that disgusting dry flaky skin was quite literally peeling off with minimal effort. After a very engle exfoliation with the cloth and some cetaphil cleanser, my skin was a bit pink but the gross skin was gone and my face actually felt much softer! For the next few nights I continued to use the 8 hour cream till my face was back to normal . Now, the moral of the story is that if you're willing to brave the storm of this cream then go ahead. If your skin is particularly sensitive like mine, I recommend you use this product when you don't have any parties of social events to go to (just in case you get a reaction). Personally, I only use this product about once every 1-2 weeks because it scares me a little so I probably wouldn't repurchase.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Pore Scrub
rated 4 of 5
decoydream 12/12/2012 6:20:00 PM

Last time I tried to use a neutrogena scrub, it gave me the worst breakouts ever but this one is so much more gentle (in terms of both the ingredients and the exfoliants in it which are really fine - so fine, you could probably use it everyday without any problems). I have really sensitive, acne prone skin and while before I couldn't use any scrubs on my face, I can now use this one. It also smells really nice too, like fresh pears. It's a shame I didn't get an extra bottle from the US while I was there, Australia doesn't sell it! :(

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Panther
rated 5 of 5
decoydream 11/28/2012 5:56:00 PM

The best matte black eyeshadow on the market. It's proper matte, creamy and blendable, long lasting, pigmented like the dark depths of the underworld and most importantly, IT DOESN'T TURN BLUE AFTER A WHILE. For $3 or so from CVS, this is an absolute steal! Since they don't sell this in Australia, I'm going to stock up while I'm in the US in case anything happens to mine!

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes Rich
rated 3 of 5
decoydream 11/5/2012 7:09:00 AM

I'm not an expert on eye creams but this product sits in the area of average to a little bit above average. I'm only 20 years old and I have zero signs of wrinkles around my eyes so I mainly just use this as a heavier moisturiser for the eye area when my eczema flares up or it's winter and it gets a little flaky around my brow bone area. The cam itself spreads quite nicely and the scent is very minimal. I find that if you don't put too much on, it tend to absorb better. Personally, I wouldn't repurchase this cream but I will use it in the future (since a small pot of this cream is almost always included in Clinique gifts when you purchase other items in Australia - and it lasts for months too!)
