Lipstick -MAC - Slimshine in Most Wanted

I am in love with this lipstick! My all-time favorite l/s is MAC "O" -- the color is fantastic, but, as with a lot of MAC l/s, it is a bit drying. The new Slimshines come in a slim, black tube, and while they apply like a lipstick, they are more glossy/balmy and are not at all drying -- I don't even need balm underneath like I would with other MAC l/s. This color, Most Wanted, is very close to "O." It's slightly lighter -- almost like "O" with a bit of MAC Sequin l/s thrown in. I love this color so much that the day after I bought it I went and bought another one as a backup in case the product was LE. (I later heard they are making it permanent, so yay!)

Tinted Moisturizer -Boots - No7 Soft and Sheer Tinted Moisturiser

Read great things about TM here on MUA, so I decided to check it out. Once again, MUA'ers come through, because this is a very nice TM! I apply it with the MAC 187 brush over Kate Somerville Quench, and it really lasts all day (and I don't apply any powder over it). I never feel dry either, like I did with the Boots Botanics TM. I got the Fair shade, which is just a tad dark for me (I'm PPP - MAC NC20), so I had to take off a lippie. Otherwise, I really like this product and will repurchase.

Tinted Moisturizer -Boots - Botanics Fresh Faced Tinted Moisturiser

This TM is marketed as a "natural" alternative to Boots No7 TM. However, it contains fragrance and several chemicals. That didn't bother me so much -- although I will say the fragrance is so strong, I could still smell my face 30 minutes after application! What does bother me is how *drying* this TM is! It doesn't moisturize at all. I bought this (in Almond) at the same time as I bought the No7 TM (in Fair -- I am PPP, MAC NC20), and the No7 is miles better. The Botanics one is going back to Target.

Treatments -Kate Somerville - Quench

A friend of mine is a facialist at Kate Somerville, so I went in for the signature facial. I could not believe the difference in my skin. She recommended I get several products, including Quench, and I am sooooooo glad I did. I use it every night, and sometimes in the morning because it makes an *awesome* foundation primer! I have noticed a marked difference in my skin -- no breakouts; smooth, even tone -- since having that facial and incorporating the products (besides Quench, I also use Kate In A Jar -- FANTASTIC stuff). I also like the pump packaging -- it's sanitary, and although the bottle is opaque, it includes a clear, vertical "screen" so that you can see how much product you have left.

She recommended I get several products, including Kate In A Jar, and I am sooooooo glad I did. I will never need another scrub or mask again! I had been doing the aspirin mask for years -- no more. Kate In A Jar does *everything* I need for weekly exfoliating. I have not had one blackhead since I got that facial and started using this on my own, and that was four weeks ago. Amazing stuff that I will keep buying forever. It's totally worth the price! I agree with everyone else on not leaving it on longer than 30 seconds; quite frankly I don't know how anyone could stand it longer than that, because it's so HOT! :)

THE SEARCH IS OVER!!! I have wavy hair that gets very frizzy if I let it air dry. But with my current job, I don't have time to blow dry or flat iron my hair in the morning, so I need something I can just apply and let do its magic while it dries. Be Curly is it! FINALLY! I simply wash and condition my hair, towel dry, spray some leave-in conditioner, apply a half-dollar size dollop of Be Curly to my mid-back-length hair, comb through and let dry. When dry, I have nice loose curls and no frizz! Yay!

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - Big Tease Mascara

I got this mascara as part of a kit and was only going to use it if I ran out of my other mascaras, because quite frankly I think BE should just stick to minerals and brushes and not venture into other stuff like l/g and mascara, because they usually suck. But after reading some of the other reviews, I was intrigued by the brush so I thought I'd give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised! It doesn't do anything dramatic like, say, YSL Faux Cils, but I think it's great for daytime. By using the short side to apply the mascara and the brush side to brush it through, I have very nice looking lashes all day. They aren't "crispy," either; they're soft. I don't have any trouble with it smudging, running or flaking like some other reviewers did. I would buy it again.

Wow. This stuff is amazing. Ever since I've added it to my nighttime routine (after toning and before moisturizer), I wake up the next morning with luminous, almost "plumped up" skin. It has caused no reactions, it doesn't sting ... in fact, it feels very nice going on, like water. I am very impressed with Lumene and will definitely repurchase this product!

Lipstick -MAC - Amorous Lipstick

What a gorgeous color. I was looking for a muted but deep mauve, and this was it. The texture is "Satin," and it's very smooth and slightly matte. Someone else described the color as "mysterious," and I agree. I would also add "seductive." It's sexy but not bright. In a way, it's MLBB -- to the extreme. Love it!

Sue Devitt lipliners are to die for .... so smooth and longwearing, and great, wearable colors. They glide on effortlessly and include a lipbrush on the other end! No lipbalm or primer is needed with these, though I do use Guerlain Liplift to help my l/s stay on longer. Beira is a brownish plum that is very similar to MAC Plum but is a tad darker. I also have SD lipliners in Salay (YLBB nude) and Nadi (reddish brown).

I had never really been able to wear nude l/l until I got this. There is no orange in it whatsoever, which is what always turned me off to nude l/l. I also have SD lipliner in Nadi (reddish brown) and Beira (brownish plum, similar to MAC Plum but a tad darker).

Sorry to spoil the 4.9 rating and 100% "would buy again," but I couldn't stand this lipstick. I need to qualify that, however -- the color, Zimbabwe, is fabulous. It's the best YLBB nude I have ever found. So I had high hopes. But what I hated about this lipstick was the texture. I didn't think it was possible for a lipstick to be *too* creamy, yet SD proved me wrong. It glided on so very nice and smooth, but soon it turned to gunk on my lips; I got that weird white "line" where the l/s ended and my mouth began, which I don't get with other l/s, especially now that I use Guerlain Liplift as a base. I will instead use MAC Hug Me, which is almost the same color IMO but a better texture for my needs.

I needed a hand cream after reading a great homemade recipe for MK Satin Hands on MUA -- apply oil to hands (I use Sweet Oil), then a tsp. of any kind of sugar, then add water and liquid hand soap and scrub; rinse, dry hands and follow with hand cream. I found Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Hand Creme at Ulta and decided to try it because it was cheap and had no smell; I hadn't even read any reviews on it. Well, I sure made a great decision, because this stuff is incredible! I use it before bed every night, and in the morning my hands are still soft and pretty. No more dryness around my nails, and no greasy feeling. (BTW I do the MK Satin Hands recipe once a week. You *must* try it!!!)

Lip Treatments -LUSH - Lip Service Lip Balm

I really like this lip balm for overnight use. The smell is awesome. Some reviewers below have complained that it's too hard, but you are supposed to dig a bit out and warm it up (melt it) between your fingers before you apply. Voila! Not hard anymore. It's kinda lame that it "expires" after a year -- it takes me longer than that to finish a pot -- but other than that it's very effective.
