Lip Liners -Milani - Easy Liner for Lips - Most Natural
cloudy888 5/29/2009 6:19:00 PM
theeee perfect lipliner for me, gives a nice base for other lipstick to glide on smoothly and stay, i can wear it alone for a really nice nude look and its a great lipliner to go with anything! it has a beautiful creamy texture, not drying. lasta very well! great price, great quality, it's one that twists up rather than having to sharpen. nowadays, i use rimmel's ultimate liner to line my lips and then this one to fill my lips, with either a gloss or gold lipstick for glam (black radiance 5020) or milanis mocha swiss OR milanis malt mocha with NYX sparkling bronze

Eye Shadow -NYX - Skin
cloudy888 5/29/2009 6:12:00 PM
FINALLLLLY! LOVE IT! I was looking for a natural shade for my eyes so I could have a natural everyday look. But having no eyeshadow makes me look like I am missing something on my face. With this shadow, it looks like I have no eyeshadow on but just nice even skin tone in my eye area (perfect to cover up if you don't have time to pluck out any stray eyebrow hairs). If I have no time at all, I just brush this all over my eyelid, add mascara, concealer, powder, blush and I am good to go. IF I have a teensy bit more time and I want to dress up but I don't have enough time to play with colors (as whenever I play with colors the first time or last minute, I always end up making my eyes too dramatic) so I reach for this all over my eye lid, add a medium brown in the crease and form a "v" in the outer corner with the brown. and then I use a slight yellow/gold from my revlon quad eyeshadow (copper spice) under the brows to highlight. And now I have a slightly dressed up but casual eye that will match any outfit or look! And if I am going to be out for the day, I do a soft/nude lipstick. And if I'm going to be out in the evening then I add more dramatic lips and black eyeliner :) I found this at a store called Ollie's (its similar to big lots) and I think it cost me 2 bucks! I am going to go back and look to see if I can get another one. Oh, and to add some background, I tried Copper spice (revlon quad) a million times as a nude look but it just never looked right on me. Made me look funny actually especially without black eyeliner and you could definitely tell I was wearing makeup plus it was a lot of work. But on one of my friends, its the perfec tnude look! (shes fairer than me though)

Concealers -Sonia Kashuk - Hidden Agenda Concealer Kit
cloudy888 4/3/2009 12:23:00 AM
I agree with all thre reviewers before me. It's everything you need to conceal in a palette. I actually love the green because I have more redness than dark areas to conceal and the green makes them disappear beautifully. And like another reviewer saidm now it can take me minutes to look really good and run out the door. Its a good quick thing. I just apply some concealer with the little brush that comes with it (even though some like using their fingers, doesn't matter, whatever rocks your boat) dab a little to blend, add some setting powder that comes with it OR I use a powder light foundation all over my face and that sets the concealer and gives me instant light foundation all over. Add some blush, shadow, mascara and woohoo! :) My biggest gripe about this is that is just WONT last. Since it doesn't last long, it's great if you have an event to attend for a few hours at a time or maybe just light makeup on the weekend or something. It is definitely very creamy, SOO easy to blend. However, for my undereyes I prefer Revlon colorstay concealer in the clickpen packaging because it LASTSSS :) BAck to sonia kashuk, i love her line of stuff. her brushes are great too. the concealer is very affordable! and yes, easy to find amongst my bag of makeup! Just a great thing for newbies I took off a lippie for lack of lasting wear and that's probably why I won't buy it again. I will stick to my revlon for undereyes and hop to find a concealer just as creamy, easy to blend, perfect green shade and not too expensive for my redness which alsooooooo lasts long! :) hey, a girl can dream, cant she!?

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy Airbrush Spray Makeup
cloudy888 4/3/2009 12:03:00 AM
So, I was expecting at least a semi-nice foundation with light/medium coverage that can be built to be more medium on days i need more and less on good days. I came home and immediately tried it on. I was so excited! ...and alas dissapointed. At first, I thought it gave me a nice glow, sheen and evened out my skin tone, but then I went into the bathroom where the lighting is MUCH better and noticed that it looked like a 16 year old trying to put on foundation. Very sheer coverage. I think a little bit of background may help with this review. I have acne prone skin which has improced ALOT! but I have a decent amount of open pores and some pit like things leftover from my acne (which will hopefully disappear after my series of chemical peels). I have slight discolorations on my cheeks but not that bad. Anyway, so this foundation gave practically no coverage. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being max coverage, this gave a 1. It was sheer, had a nice shine/glow thing to it only in certain lights. I noticed that under different lights it either looked smooth or just like somebody is trying but using a cheap product to cover up. I kept bouncing back n forth for the smell. One minute I was liking it, the next it was too much and it kept changing on me in the 5 minutes i used it to apply. Ti apply, I sprayed it on my hand and then rubbed it in my face using my middle and ring finger just kindof tapping/blending until I got my whole face. I didn't have to use too much...(maybe thats where the concern is? Should I use a bit more? But nevertheless, it was how it appeared streaky on my face that I did not like. I also got the medium shade as I have a slightly olive/tan skin tone with yellow undertones. and the medium color looked like a nice tan with some yellow in it compared to the darker tan ones and the lighter/pinkier ones. I did find however that the color was lighter than I anticipated and not as yellow. I was so excited! :( Because as I applied, and when I was half way I was seriously going to keep this in my purse as my go-to quick light makeup in case of emergency when I have no time to get ready and may have 5-10 mins in the car to look decent. I thought this would be a nice glowing/light and quick fix foundation. I also applied it under my eyes as I would have applied concealer and it did do a wonderful job of brightening up that area. So overall, I didnt find it to be a foundation. More of a glower/sheer veil. It would be great for someone with almost great skin with no discolorations loking for a quick glowing foundation type thing. It was definitely pricey for the amount you get. Color selection is limited. Packaging was fine with me. I didn't have any problems at all. One last note: I have combination dry/oily skin and this felt like it was drying my skin and I only had it on for about an hour. Sorry guys! Glad it works really great for some people.

Fragrances -Cacharel - Anais Anais
cloudy888 3/12/2009 11:42:00 PM
I LOVEeeee this scent. I have since I was 16. I don't use it often and save it for days when I feel great or when I am going out to a big event and I know everyone will be drowning in all sorts of perfume and usually heavy expensive ones so when I wear this, I stand out (in terms of scent) and it feels more pleasant than usual. It is very nice to wear lightly as the less is more really feels good with this scent. I feel happier in a nostalgic way and people around me react that way to this scent too. I am all out and I need to get some more. Like others mentioned, definitely cheap and long lasting! oh, and I usually get headaches from heavy perfumes which I love but get headachy with but not this one! Another plus! :)

Moisturizers -Olay - Total Effects Night Firming Cream
cloudy888 3/12/2009 11:36:00 PM
I wanted to like this product because Olay tends to be one of the safe and decent drugstores products for everyone. But I got this as a sample when buying another olay product and I was excited about trying it out as I have combo skin with some oily areas and somy very dry areas especially in the winter months. Anyhow, my eye area has become very sensitive recently and also I have developed some fine lines at the young age of 21!!! due to extreme dryness and a lot of stress. So, I thought trying this would be a good idea and was also hoping that it would double for me as a moisturizing eye cream but oh, was I wrong. The moment I put it on, it stung like crazy! and the next day my eyes were so irritiated. THey were red and puffy. So, definitely not good! I didn't touch it after that night even though I loved the consistency and how lightweight it was and I actually like the smell of it. Makes me feel like I pampered myself a little bit and plus the smell fades in a little while anyway. I read the reviews on here and decided I won't even pursue it for the rest of my face since I had acne prone skin up until this past year when I finally found a good dermatologist and my skin is doing SOOOO much better. And I just had a peel done a month ago and another one today so I don't want any creams giving me breakouts just yet! However, I have given it to my mom to try and I will update if she reports anything great or extremely bad.

Eyeliner -Almay - Amazing Lasting Eye Pencil
cloudy888 3/12/2009 8:17:00 PM
Great eyeliner, decent price, awesome staying power and just like the other reviewers, my top line doesn't smudge (maybe just a tad bit) but the bottom line DEFINITELY smudges and gives me panda eyes. The only things I hate about it is that it's too thick despite being sharpened. Maybe if they bring it out with it being skinnier, then we could have the option of having a nice precise skinny application or a thick one. And yes, I find that it has a very smooth application and the thing I love about it the most is the BLACK color. It is a beautiful dark black compared to the covergirl which I found was a very pale black compared to this and other eyeliners. Also, I sometimes use this to line the insides of my eyes and it gives me a nice dark black like expected which lasts longer than others but it may bleed a little at the outside corners of my eyes but nothing a little wipe of a finger doesn't get rid of during the day. Overall, a great liner. I haven't strayed yet!

Eye Makeup Remover -Estee Lauder - Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
cloudy888 3/12/2009 7:11:00 PM
Wow. I agree with the reviewer below me! Not gentle in ANY respect. The first time I used it and it stung my eyes HORRIBLY!!!, the area all around my eyes turned extremely red and the next morning they were red and so puffy that I couldn't open my eyes all the way! and since then the areas around my eye have become super sensitive and although before I didn't have problems with using things on my face in terms of allergies, now I have to constatnly be extra careful around my eyes! I ran out and got neutrogena eye makeup remover the next day and I am pretty satisified with it. Before that I was using Clinique take the day off and I liked that one alot except for the oily residue and the price! Neutrogena gets the job done as well. I might go and try lumene next.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
cloudy888 12/9/2008 9:54:00 PM
Okay, so I actually really like this mascara. It was the first one I ever owned in high school and I loved it then even though I didn't know what I was really looking for...but as time went on, I tried a few other mascaras and then I stopped wearing it all together because I heard that mascara thins your lashes and makes them fall out faster so I tried to keep mascara to special events.... Then, recently I have become an everyday make up wearing girl and I love eye make up! SO anyway, I had gotten a couple of different estee lauder mascaras from gift sets and such and I liked their zero smudge mascara and I made that my everyday mascara but I still kept a great lash in my drawer for just-in-case moments where my mascara look doesn't satisfy me. However, I have straight black lashes with medium length and thickness. And no matter how much I curled with a curler or how many coats of mascara I put on, my lashes would NOT hold a curl for more than 5 minutes. A friend who is a makeup expert did my makeup a few times and she was SOOO FRUSTRATEd bcuz my lashes just wouldn't curl! and a few other friends pointed out that I should wear some mascara....when in fact I was wearing some!!! ....anyway, so I picked up my great lash a few days ago because I really started to feel that although I liked that the estee lauder zero smudge didnt smudge, I felt that half-way through the day, there was barely any mascara left on my lashes! So, the moment I put on my great lash, I remembered exactly why I keep this backup amongst my things ALWAYS even though I didnt use it as much. My EL mascaras and l'oreal felt dry and made my lashes "crispy"...but not my great lash :) I have smooth lashes, silky feeling....and since it had been so long since i had worn this, I was checking my lashes the other day...(to check if I had mascara left)...and I was wondering if I forgot to wear some that day because there was no crunchiness or clumpiness there.....and i look in the mirror....well well well! I do have mascara on...but how are my lashes still so soft? and Still curled!...OH YEAHHH! I applied great lash today! No wonder its not crunchy! So, I think the trick is to apply it going from the inner corners of your eyes out or the other way and applying it in nice slow smooth sweeps instead of many quick sweeps and the more coats you do, the more likely it is that you will get clumps but if you do nice slow sweeps with maybe a jiggle or a twirl of the whole brush as you go up each section if you want more volume, (it might help). I do believe that this mascara won't give you an absolute dramatic look but it can give you an average pretty look or a slightly dressed up look if you apply it right. Although, this is currently still my dress up and dramatic mascara because this is the ONLYYYYYYYY one that holds my curl which makes it look like I even have anything on there and makes a hugeeeeeeee difference because the other mascaras felt like they were weighing down my already straight lashes giving me a more tired look rather than a pretty awake and bright eye look that I wanted from my mascara. Moving on to the pacakging, I like the completley diff color to make it easy to find between my things! I do have the NON_waterproof at the moment which I think makes it easier to remove, I used to use the waterproof before and removing that was a pain then esp since i was young and didn't have great products to remove makeup and removing the waterproof one would make me lose my lashes. I did not get any racoon eyes or smudges from the normal one I am using now though and I recommend using the waterproof if you are having trouble with racoon eyes. I have never had a flaking problem with this mascara. and I LOVEEE the color, all the other mascaras I have tried definitely weren't black enough and I already have black lashes so I need my mascara to be darker to give it some oomph! Additionally ,I LOVE the small brush, it makes it veryyy easy to apply and also to get my smaller lashes at the corners of my eyes. and I always get very nice definition and natural separation with it. so, until I find another mascara that doesnt weigh my lashes down, holds a curl, gives me more length, a tad bit more volume, a color as black as this one, doesn't smudge or flake....anddddd is easy to remove, I will finally abandon this one :) EDIT 3/5/09: I have become allergic to great lash! my eyes swell up by the end of the day and by the next morning I couldn't open my eyes all the way...thank god i didn't have to work or go to class! Anywho, i have to let go of my fav and only mascara I ever really liked :(....moving on in my search for another perfect mascara. Today I tried 2 estee lauders (one for volume and one for length layered on and I am satisfied fo ran everyday look) But I like nice dramatic mascara which volumizes, lengthens alot and gives unclumped silky smooth lashes without smudging and flaking! every girls dream I suppose....and the search goes on

Styling Products -TiGi - S-Factor Heat Defender - Flat Iron Shine Spray
cloudy888 10/29/2008 6:24:00 PM
Whoa! That's what I thought when i used it this morning after my shower. my hair stylist had recommended this to me a few yrs ago but i have been using leave in conditioner for the past 8-10 yrs and i had good healthy long hair with a trim every 4-6 months and it had a natural shine and it was thick so i didnt worry. but i also had long hair at the time. i just got a cut last week ( a very chic bob cut and my hair hasnt been this short in more than 10 yrs) soooooo althouh i always straightened my hair before, it didnt have to be as perfect as it needs to be with this new cut and the day i came from the salon, i had good shiny healthy hair....then i washed and straightened (with tons of leave in conditioner ofcourse because i know that otherwise i would fry my hair pretty fast and it would be visible in short hair) ....so back to the poin... it was not as shiny, or healthy looking! in fact it looked dry and like i had been straightening forever...and it didnt flow and fall in the same way that it did the day i got it cut (go figure right?) soooo, i went to change my str8ner because the first thing was that mine was a 2 inch which was too big for the bangs and my bangs would NOTTT stay in place, they kept going up to the sky or the other side of the head. So, basically i retraced what my stylist used that day and i knew i needed a new str8ner because mine was too big and also slow. Do i went and asked her which one she had, got a new one that i liked after going thru 2 others before asking her and hating them. anyway, i tried it all again and still dry, non-flowing, all over the place hair....so the only thing left was that she sprayed a heat defender in my hair and i had remembered that another stylist had told me about the s factor one and so i went out looking high and low and finally found it at ulta in another city! i read the reviews which were awesome and compared to the reviews for CHI b/c these were the 2 that ulta sales rep recommended. So, I tried the s factor this morning. heres what i did after my shower: i air dried a bit (about 75 %) , and i always follow with a leave in conditioner, i used to love the thermasilk spray and then they discontinued and i recently found out that sunsilk's thermashine is the new thermasilk with a diff name! so anyway, i used a bit of sunsilk hydra tlc 24/7 creme which is just a leave in conditioner (bright pink bottle) and rubbed that into the ends of my hair to protect it and make it healthier so it can grow well. Then i sprayed s factor, blow dried and straightened...however i had read too much makes it greasy so i only did 1 spray on each side of the head, one on back, one on each side as i worked my way through each layer of hair. i instantly noticed the shine! looked healthier smoother, and oh so easy to straighten!...anyway, at the end, shine was pretty good, straightening was good. and whats more is i got the same hairstyle, perfect volume, bangs in place and looking well done, i curve the dns of my cut and they staye din place! however, one complain i have is that it made my hair a bit stiff as if i had hair spray in there, and although it made my hair stay in place and keep the style in place, i couldnt run my fingers through my hair without saying "ow" or getting tangled. i am wondering if its the sunsilk creme doing that because too much of that tends to weigh hair down and it did that in my previous experience. so now the first test is that i am going to wait and see if these results last overnight and if it messes up when i wake up in the morning. 2nd test will be when i party this weekend all night and see how it holds up through a whole 24 hours. 3rd trial will be when i use a bit more of this heat defender (to see if i can do better on the shine and make sure i get all my hair protected) and less or none sunsilk leave in conditioner tlc creme to see where the stiffness is coming from now for the bad stuff...i actually HATEEE the smell, makes me sick and made me sneeze immediately! thank goodness that the sneezing didnt last once the smell died down.....but it does make my hair smell good..it seems to bring out the smell of my shampoo once i am done styling. also, the price is tooo much, wish they would have sales, does anyone know if they ever mark these down at all so i can stock up?? and its also hard to find! lastly, like everyone else mentioned, packaging sucks! and i think i have said all i can think of, i will add or edit once i perform all my tests :) but all in all, its a good product to have esp. if you heat style your hair a lot b/c i thought leave in conditioner was enough and boy was i wrong after seeing the results in one use!!!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Bright Duo - Showy
cloudy888 10/26/2008 1:26:00 PM
i luv it! i luv the turquoise color. i was wearing a turquoise outfit for a special event and lined my lids with this and added simple black eyeliner and amazing! not too much but just enough oomph to make the eyes pop. the blue is more matte than i wud like. i luv the concentrations, they are very buildable. i use the duo eyeshadow brush set from cvs (GR8 brushes!) and i can buildup the shadow more, i have also found that using the hip cream shadow paint (comes in a tube with a brush in a small box, expensive..about 10 bucks)...as a base/primer and that helps to make all of my shadows more vibrant and also last! so this made the blue a bit more vibrant, i also have been playing around and using the blue with a brown shade closer to the inside of my eyes and the blue to do the outer corner...i like it. but i havent been able to wear it out to see what my friends think..i will update when i do..but all in all, i luv the hip colors, iw ish they wud get all of their color sin 2 options, matte or metallic so i could pick all the metallic ones!) :)i cant wai tto buy the other ones, like sassy and magnetic i dont like the packaging, i agree that the little shadow brush in the bottom is USELESS! and the compartments are hard to open when im in a rush in the morning, better packaging wud be a gr8 idea! ( i wonder if all the makeup companies come and look at the reviews ppl paste on this site..i think they wud find this place very helpful in improving their products!)

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Designer Chocolates Quad
cloudy888 10/7/2008 5:55:00 PM
i love the outer corner color which is the darkest brown on here. its a very nice shade of brown that accentuates when i use it for my outer corner. and i also love the lid color even though it barely shows. these 2 colors are just so natural and i think i am going to use it as an everyday working around the house look where it looks natural and not done but gives the face a lil something...however, i hate the other 2 colors. i think the browbone color or maybe the crease color just has toooo much glitter and it gets all over the face...upon buying i had thought that i would love the crease color but i was wrong.....however, i don't find that the colors are very blendable....a shame...i think the quad would be a must have if they would be buildable..... i dont think i will buy this again....and maybe find other quads that have the same brown i love but more buildable and have other usable colors....so i think for the quality and uses, its a bit expensive. and the packaging is HORRIBLE! definitely use a brush instead of the ones given (they suck!)

Other -Unlisted Brand - Braun Epilator
cloudy888 6/4/2008 12:25:00 AM
Painful the first few times everywhere used. Now I am so used to it that it's second nature. It's so much better than any other method, great results, slow hair regrowth and my thicker hair got finer over time and therefore I did not even need to epilate as often. Beware though, the longer the hair, the more the pain so even though I don't feel the pain now if I epilate regularly (1 - 2times a week depending on how well I want it done) if I let my hair grow long, then it hurts a little. Don't use it on the face! Not a good idea at all. Go slow when you start! If you are getting hairs cut off rather than being pulled out, you are doing something wrong. I love mine.
