Tinted Moisturizer -Clinique - Moisture Sheer Tint [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5

First I got a sample of this in the tint 'golden', which was waaay too dark for my skintone. I kind of liked the feel of it tough, so went back to get a sample in 'bisque' (the lightest tint). This matched my skintone better, but not very good. There's a lot orange and yellow in this TM! After using it for a few days, I decided I dind't quite liked the look either. This is too matte for my taste, it doesn't make my face appear youthful and healthy. Actually, I figured I look better without this on, and that's the opposite of what one expects from a TM :)

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Pure Poison
rated 5 of 5
caradiangela 10/4/2009 4:12:00 AM

This was a late discovery of mine. I already knew the other poisons and didn't like them too much. Weird enough, I never got to try this one. But now I did, and I fell for it big time! Imo, it is a very lovely fragrance, easy but complex, innocent but with a twist. It's fresh and uplifting, with warmth, depth and a darker side to it too. I really like to wear this, as it makes me feel more confident and feminine. My bf also really likes it, as many men do I suppose, because it can be a quite seductive scent in a way. All in all this beautiful fragrance (my first one from Dior!) suits me like a glove and I know I will wear it for many more years.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Almond Soothing Facial Lotion
rated 3 of 5
caradiangela 9/8/2009 3:26:00 PM

Got a sample of it and, since I love Weleda's philosophy, wanted to try it. But I should've known better, because none of the moisturizers from Weleda work for me. I thinkt that's because the oils are too heavy for my skintype: it never sinks in. Same with this one. I like the fact that it doesn't contain any fragrance, and also that the ingredient-list is in fact very short. This must be a wonderful (night)cream for dry and sensitive skin-types. For me, just too much to handle. Felt sticky all day long. But it didn't break me out, which is why I gave this 3 instead of 2 lippes.

Skincare - Face -Erno Laszlo - Antioxidant Mattifying Complex
rated 5 of 5
caradiangela 7/24/2009 5:26:00 AM

I never heard of Erno Laszlo before, this is not a familiar brand in Europe. Accidentally found it on a huge discount (80%!) at Sephora. I would have never bought it for the normal price, but for this discount I wanted to try it out. I choose for the mattifying complex instead of the non-mattifying, only because the latter contains fragrance, which the first one doesn't. For my luck, it doesn't really mattify at all (I don't like a matte appearance). I like this lotion. Sinks in fast and isn't greasy at all. Contains great antioxidants and spf 15 and isn't irritating a bit. I guess I won't purchase it again (for the price), but it's a great substitute for the (here discontinued) Olay complete sensitive. EDIT: Actually, I think this might be THE best 'basic' moisturizer I've ever used! I'm wondering why there are so little reviews, and even negative ones...

Moisturizers -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion with SPF 15 and Antioxidants
rated 4 of 5
caradiangela 7/12/2009 7:45:00 AM

I don't know, must be something about my skin these days, because it looks like I can 'upgrade' myself from combination to oily skin (due to birth control method, I suppose)... Anyway, I got a sample of this and the essential non-greasy spf 15. I thought I would like this one better, also based on the reviews. It came out the opposite. This moisturizer felt really sticky on my face and after an hour or so, I washed it of. I think it's maybe the mattifing ingredients I don't like to the feel? But, as I said, it could also be just me...f EDIT; few years later now and I got this product in a swap so tried it again since I love all of the great ingredients in it. My skin is back to just being combination instead of really oily and therefore I do not find this product to be too sticky or greasy anymore. For the most part I really like it now, it sinks in in a split second, but for my under-eye-are it is just too drying! It makes the fine lines there more visible, and that's something a 29 year old really don't need. So still not perfect.

Tinted Moisturizer -Paula's Choice - Barely There Sheer Matte Tint SPF 20
rated 3 of 5
caradiangela 7/11/2009 10:51:00 AM

I ordered a sample of this, and 'though the shade ivory matches my skintone, I really didn't liked the feel of this on my face! I guess it's the physical ss. For my combo skin, this always feels tacky and sort-of greasy. I don't know, just doesn't seem to sink in, but just sits on top (and that's what physical ss does, isn't it?). Maybe I should just stop looking for a TM, because they all seem to have this effect on me and I don't even really need one...I just like the idea of it.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Super Antioxidant Concentrate
rated 5 of 5
caradiangela 7/11/2009 5:02:00 AM

I'm in love with this product! I orderered from the European website, which offers a super antioxidant concentrate with a formulation that differs from the one on the American website. Maybe this is still the non-reformulated Amercian-version'? Anyway, I don't really care, because I love it, I love it, I love it! It glides on like a dream, makes my skin totally balanced, soft and glowing and never irritates or gives break-outs. I use it mainly at night, but sometimes also under my ss, or just plain as moisturizer when I won't face the sun. I truely believe that the ingredients help my skin in being healthy and beautiful. Did I already mention that I love it..?

Moisturizers -Biore - Nourish Moisture Lotion SPF 15

Feels nice when just put on, but never really sinks in and made me break out a bit, which was the final turn-off. Also, I didn't like the smell of it.

Sunscreen -Eucerin - Creme-Gel SPF 25
rated 3 of 5
caradiangela 6/21/2009 5:00:00 AM

I tried a tester of this ss for a couple of days. Just sounded too good to be true! And it was. 'Tough the formulation is gentle and application is easy, it leaves a somewhat tacky finish that balls of when you touch your face. I don't like that, not even on my body. Won't buy.

Sunscreen -Paula's Choice - Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF 15 & Antioxidants
rated 3 of 5
caradiangela 6/7/2009 7:57:00 AM

I like almost everything about this moisturizer. I like the spf (15 is high enough for the climate here, and it's a physical ss, which is better tolerated by my skin), I like the ingredients (very good and gentle, no fragrance), I like that it's not animal-tested, I like the 'look' of the lotion (gives my sometimes slightly red skin a sheer, matte, kind of soft-focus appearance: NO white cast!) and I like the pump-packaging. The only thing I don't really like, is the texture. I wouldn't call it especially greasy, but it defenitely doesn't sink right in. It also doesn't spread easy over my face. And that's a pity. I guess it's just a bit too heavy and moisturizing for my combination skintype, but then again, the Paula's Choice ss's for oilier skintypes don't have the psysical filter. So for me this is a compromise, one that for now I mainly enjoy to use. Edit: another lippie off: this makes my face feel tacky for the whole day, even when applied very sparse. I really don't like the feel of it.

Fragrances -Kenzo - l'eau par Kenzo

In general, I'm more into the warmer, spicy scents, but they don't always wear as well in spring and summer. So I searched for a lighter, yet elegant scent, and this is totally it! At first I didn't even give it a try, because it's a quite common scent I thought would be boring, like Coolwater or something. But once I spritzed it on for the first time, I'm hooked. For me, it's THE scent for the high temperature-days in the year. Fresh, crisp, light and sweet, with a little bit of sexy on the edge (my bf loves the drydown!)

Fragrances -Bulgari - Omnia

Very nice smell: special, comforting and also seductive in a subtle kind of way. I enjoy wearing this, as I am able to smell myself, but unfortunately I found out that the people around me have a hard time smelling it... So the sillage isn't great. But my BF, who's allowed to stand very close, can detect it and also really likes it, so I'm happy! :)

Mascara -Max Factor - False lash effect
rated 5 of 5
caradiangela 2/22/2009 11:18:00 AM

Love it!! I also like Masterpiece, and I like huge brushes, so this one is the perfect mix for me. Maybe not as much volme as Masterpiece Max, but the result is more natural and less spidery. Great intense color, as all Max Factors'.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Extra Volume Collagen mascara
rated 2 of 5
caradiangela 1/9/2009 4:04:00 PM

Well, for the price and for the "collagen-hype" of it, it is rather dissapointing. It did not make my lashes any more volumnious than way cheaper brands do. Skip it.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Mexx - Pure Life Woman
rated 4 of 5
caradiangela 8/13/2008 3:26:00 PM

I'm surprised how much I actually enjoy this scent! For a while I was looking for a "fresh & clean" fragrance, but I just couldn't find the right one, and then I got tired of searching and bought one of the cheaper ones I'd tried and remembered as "good enough". That turned out to be a lucky pick, because I really like it. It smells clean and bright, a little acquatic and also feminine. Plus: great staying power. Will continue to buy and wear in spring and summer.
