Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Abreva Docosanol 10% Cream for Cold Sores
rated 4 of 5

This works if you catch the sore VERY early. Once the sore is there & a bump has surfaced, don't expect much. At that point nothing but time will help. When I feel a tingle I use this and nothing comes up. It's expensive for such a small tube. But, if you're getting a cold sore once a year then this will last. I used past the expiration date. I had two cold sores when I was very sick, recently. I tried the Abreva patches. That was a waste. I tried the cream. It was too late. I use vitamin E from the capsules & that helped the pain and assisted in helping the sores heal up nicely. Still took 2 weeks to go away. But eh. I'm 31 and have only had actual cd sores I twice. So, can't complain. If you get them more often, see your PCP or derm for a script. You can also try taking lysine!!!

Mascara -Maybelline - The Rocket Volume Express
rated 3 of 5
brio815 1/7/2013 10:10:00 PM

I don't understand how his has received 4 out of 5 lippies. I got this for around $6 at walmart. I was very excited. When I used the mascara the very next morning I was disappointed. while this didn't smudge or flake it definitely makes the lashes brittle and hard looking/feeling. I know mascaras aren't usually all they claim to be but this definitely left me wanting more. I'll use this until it's gone but I won't repurchase. Edit: I am liking this more. I use my Maybelline One by One first and then use The Rocket second. I still doubt I'd repurchase this though. I am certain there are other DS mascaras that work well. This was only $6 at walmart and I can hang with that :) but it is still a very wet formula. You have to apply your layers while still wet. Don't wait for eahc application (layer) to dry. I added a pic.

Gels/Soaps -AMBI - Complexion Cleansing Bar
rated 4 of 5
brio815 12/28/2012 9:42:00 PM

I've been using this for about a week. So far, I like it. My face feels clean after washing. It feels dry but nothing my morning moisturizer can't fix. I have oily skin. So, being a bit dry doesn't affect me too much. So far, I haven't experienced any break outs or bad blemishes with this. I guess I'll see if that sticks as I keep using it. A week may not be long enough to know the real deal.

These work great at blotting oil! Each time we are at SB I keep any napkins we get. :)

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash pink grapefruit foaming scrub
rated 1 of 5
brio815 11/29/2012 10:11:00 PM

Used this product up (since I paid for it, might as well). It did absolutely NOTHING for my skin. Which is what I find with most neutrogena products. I do get blemishes and have oily skin. But this did nothing to help it. I've seen better results with using baking soda as a scrub.

I said "yes" i'd purchase this again because I always have BP on hand. However, this doesn't live up to it's claim. It's the same as any other drugstore BP that DOESN'T make these claims.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
rated 4 of 5

I like this brush. It's cheap. And sturdy. The bristles rarely fall out. I have a Sephora blush brush (small head) that constantly sheds. It was in a set but costly. I use this brush to apply my concealer (I don't use foundation right now).

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer
rated 4 of 5

I have been using UDPP for many years now. My BFF got me into UDPP. Recent I kept seeing ELF primer on YouTube beauty guru channels. I was at the closest target that sells Elf so I decided to get it. $1. I'm not losing much if I end up hating it. But I don't hate it. It is easy to apply. Thin consistency. Has a doe foot type applicator (that occasionally feels like it's scratching my lid but whatever). It's plastic packaging and small. Hey, it's a buck. Cheaper than a package of gum. With my UDPP my lids would start to crease near end of work day (4 or 5 PM). With the ELF- no creasing. I have very oily skin & oily lids to boot. Idk if this helps my shadow colors pop but it certainly keeps the color on my lids & decreases my chances for creasing. I'll buy again. :)

Love this! No fragrance. Not greasy. I used this every night before bed on my dry, itchy legs and it helped them calm down.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Perfection Volumizing Mascara
rated 4 of 5
brio815 11/24/2012 10:13:00 PM

I've bought this twice thus far. I like it. I like to use it as my first "base" mascara and then use my 2nd mascara. My other favorite base mascara is the Maybelline full n' soft. This one is a bit less than $10. I think I got my first tube on sale because when i bought my second tube I was surprised at the price. Around $8 I think. I think it's a pretty good DS mascara and i'm not a big fan of CG products.

Mascara -Almay - Intense i-color w/ Light Interplay Technology
rated 3 of 5
brio815 11/24/2012 9:35:00 PM

The brush is too large. Not what I was expecting. I won't buy this again. It's not the worst. Not the best. I think it thickens decently. I just can't stand how large the brush is.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express One by One
rated 3 of 5
brio815 11/24/2012 9:29:00 PM

I gave this a 3 because it's middle of the road. I don't know what i expected. Wait, yes I do! I was expecting thicker lashes. I don't ever use this alone. I use another mascara and then this one and it's numerous coats. Although, that's always been my routine with mascaras. I'll keep searching for that "perfect" mascara. This isn't the worst. this isn't the best. It's decent. Don't expect miracles. :) I probably won't repurchase this. I am certain there are much better DS mascaras out there.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
rated 4 of 5
brio815 11/24/2012 6:48:00 PM

I think this palette is great. The colors show up very well for being so cheap. I wear this ALMOST daily. I have the UD Naked Palette (the first tone) and honestly, I like this Wet 'n' Wild palette better. It's foolproof and pigmented. The price is nice for any budget. I'd definitely buy this trio again.

Concealers -Wet 'n' Wild - Cover All Liquid Concealer - 812 Light
rated 3 of 5
brio815 11/23/2012 8:15:00 PM

This is a cheap concealer. Don't expect a miracle! The light shade matched my skin fairly well. It covered my pimples decently. Would I use it as my sole concealer? No. Would I repurchase? Yes. It's easy & cheap. I think it dries out too quickly. It fades quicker than other concealer a. But it's super cheap. Seriously, what did you expect.

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
rated 4 of 5
brio815 11/22/2012 3:28:00 PM

I would repurchase. It doesn't make my face look powdery or cakey. I don't think it keeps me matte very long though. And I wished it at least had a mirror. It doesn't come with a mirror or tool for application. I got creamy natural (I'm light skinned) and it matched me pretty well. I don't think it would cover exceptionally well if used by itself. I have acne prone skin & I don't think this has caused any extra breakouts. It's light feeling. If you get it at Walmart it's pretty cheap. $4 or less!
