I liked this when I first smelled it, but now I'm ehhhhh about actually wearing it. I may find it more comforting when it gets cooler out but it just reminds me too much of my creamy nutmeg room spray. Not a bad scent, but I'm not sure if I like the way it smells on an actual person- I'd rather my house smell like it or something.

Palettes -Stila - Barbie Loves Stila All Doll'd Up Palette (2009)
rated 4 of 5

I was going to wait a while to do this review (because i have not tried all the colors) but since it's LE I figured people would want reviews now so I will try to state my review so far :-) This is my first Stila purchase and I bought it for the cute packaging and that teal color that is in one of the trios. I was actually kind of dissapointed in this at first (for me anyway). I thought the teal was uniquie but then I realized that it looked alot like MAC Teal pigment when it was on my lid. I also thought I could get alot of use out of the purple but I didn't think that was very pigmented either compared to other purples. Suprisingly though, I'm using the heck out of this for my everyday work/school look!! I'm addicted to bold crazy colors so I was initially disappointed, but now I love the dark brown and bronze color for in my crease with MAC Vanilla vigment on the lid. I also love the peachy highlight color (in the trio with the brown and green). It's not something I would have ever thought to try since I have alot of pink in my skin but it's now my favorite highlight! I bought MAC's shroom and it just seemed to accentuate imperfections on my brow but this is great! I also think the green in this palette goes great with MAC Club eyeshadow (the green in club matches this color like perfectly!) I probably won't look to Stila for any bright colors, but so far I am loving their neutrals and might refill this palette (one day!) with some neutrals. The shadows are also SUPER soft, I traveled with it to work and the silver chipped a bit so athough this palette would be great on the go, I'd recommend being safe and leaving it at home! When I bought it, it was sold out at my Sephora store, at Sephora online, and Stila online! I got it at Ulta!

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Ecstasy
rated 2 of 5
brandylee 10/7/2009 10:54:00 PM

I guess I'm the minority here, but I don't like this at all! I'm glad I bought it during the UD FF sale so I got 30% off- but it still erks me that it was a total waste. Don't get me wrong, the color is very pretty. However, I hate the bottle, the brush, the consistency of the product, etc. I have been a black liquid liner addict for years, I cannot go a day without it lol and when I do pink/purple looks, I really felt that black was a little harsh so I figured I would try a different liquid liner. FYI, I use Loreal's Liquid Liner Intense (something like that!) w/ the felt tip. Eventhough I've been using liquid liner for years, I guess I'm not use to using a brush, I just can't get an even line especially when starting and stopping in the middle of doing an eye. The brush also get too much product and there's no where to wipe off the excess except in the neck of the bottle which will probably have product build up eventually. Lastly, and what takes the cake for me, is that the product feels tight and drying on my lids. Even though my black liner (Loreal) occasionally cracks in the inner corner, it never feels tight on my eyes while UD's always cracks in my inner corner and touch ups are a pain for me because of the brush! I have sensitive eyes and this tight feeling causes me to tear up in my outer corners. Precise winged liquid eyeliner is one of my staples and I just can't get it right with this product, I got the stuff on my lashes, it was uneven and the 'wings' were uneven and gloopy. This stuff is on par with the WNW drugstore liquid liner I bought for $2 or $3. However, I seem to be the minority here so if you have these liners in other colors and you like them, then get this because it really is a pretty color but it's not worth the trouble for me ESPECIALLY for its price.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Double Body Mist in Coconutty
rated 4 of 5
brandylee 10/7/2009 6:11:00 PM

I'm assuming this is a limited edition scent and it smells pretty good, though it doesn't exactly seem like a fall scent to me! It reminds me of pistachio cake that my moms makes..a sweet and nutty smel (it's supposed to smell like coconut and almost). It's very unique (though I'm not that into fragrances so don't quote me!) but not something I'd wear everyday. Not sure if I would pay $12 for it since I have so many hardly used body mists but I got it with a $10 off birthday gift card so I am happy with it!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Dazzleglass in Funtabulous
rated 4 of 5
brandylee 9/12/2009 6:17:00 PM

I finally ordered this off the MAC website because both the MAC store and the counter in my mall are constantly sold out of this shade! I'm going to agree with everyone else that the price of this (for the amount you get) sucks. I don't have any lipglasses or anything, just 2 dazzleglasses (I typically use cheaper lip products so I can buy more eyeshadow!). However, I just had to have this because it looked so awesome in the tube! It's a pretty color BUT it does't look as good on my lips (by itself) as I thought I would. I guess because my lips are more red toned it looks alittle odd. My lips are currently really dry from a medication so I can't try this over lipstick currently but I still like the color of this and I plan to use it spraringly so when I get off the medication I can find the perfect liptstick to wear this over!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Vanilla
rated 5 of 5
brandylee 9/10/2009 5:28:00 PM

glad I got a sample of this because now I will definitely be purchasing in full size! This works amazing on the lid with amberlights in the crease and mulch in the outer corner for my everyday eye (with winged black liner). I haven't used it for any other uses yet since it's just a small sample, but I will be purchasing for sure.

Blush -Maybelline - Mineral Power Blush True Peach [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
brandylee 8/27/2009 12:38:00 AM

I really like this blush! I bought it after trying Gentle Pink and loving how easily it went on. I also liked the fact they aren't crazy with shimmer because I have enough of those! Sadly, I think GP was discontinued (got it for 50% off) and I think it's the same for True Peach. I don't know why, these are great! I had a bad experience with mineral blushes my first time around, but these make up for it! Aside from being addicted to having blush on, I'm not a blush fanatic (I've used the same blush daily for years until recently) so I'm not going to try to describe the color and what it compares to, etc. I broke my ever so popular wet n wild blush in Naive that is discontinued (which was a coral color I guess?) so I was basically looking for a blush that wasen't pink since I have enough of those. This works great for me, so glad it was on clearance but sad to see it go from the line.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Humid (Frost)
rated 5 of 5
brandylee 8/25/2009 5:25:00 PM

Bought this since I'm working on filling up my first MAC palette and someone on YT said it was their favorite MAC eyeshadow. This is a very pretty forest green as others have said but it's still not a color I'm drawn to because I prefer to wear very bright colors. However, this is very pigmented eyeshadow that went on easily IMO and nice to wear. I used NYX black bean jumbo eye pencil underneath (mainly for my crease color), this on the lid, and club in the crease and outer V. The entire look came over darker and more dramatic than expected, but I liked the combo. Not a color I wear often so I probably won't need to repurchase anytime soon, but I think anyone with a variety of shadows in their collection should have this one!

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss
rated 4 of 5
brandylee 8/20/2009 9:19:00 PM

I have this in James and I'm not good at describing things (and others have already done so) but it looks like an awesome hot pink w/ violet glow to it and the emo boy on the lid is so ME lol. I was going to get Doug but since I'm not a lipgloss junkie, I wanted to spend $19 on a guy that fit me and as well as a good color. I am overall pleased with this and the scent reminds me of buttered popcorn jellybelly's. It is pretty strong though so I could see how some people might not be able to get around it. I also love that it has a brush appicator and it's kind of tacky but not annoyingly sticky. The color is very wearable and not intense as it looks and I guess that's a good thing, I tend to get so attracted to lipcolors in the tube but they usually don't go on the lips like that. Might check in to other colors but I don't really like any of the other guys so I may use this for a while and decide if it's worth it to try another color! *update* Still liking the product, but the smell is starting to bug me because I can smell it for a while AFTER I put it on! It's not even that it's a bad smell but I don't think UD should have used such a strong scent in an otherwise awesome product! I will keep the color I have but won't repurchase any other colors.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Brown
rated 4 of 5
brandylee 8/19/2009 5:36:00 PM

First NYX shadow and so far so good! I love bold eyeshadow so I go crazy buying the brightest colors I can find, but I knew I needed some neutrals because I would get invited to a family event and feel like people might call me out on my 'clown' makeup that I DO wear to school and work but you know how families can be.. Anyway, the color has already been described, but the texture of it is sooooo soft! In the past I've been scared away from mattes but I'm starting to like them now, especially after seeing how NOT chalky this shadow is! I used MAC vanilla pigment on lid, NYX Brown in the crease and MAC Mulch eyeshadow in the outer V with shroom as a highlight with heavy winged black liner and it came out great! I will probably hold off on tryin to fill my MAC palette for a while and check more of these out, especially for those blah neutral colors that I don't really want to buy in the first place though I usually enjoy them once they are on my face! TRY THIS! ..Got mine at a local beauty supply store in the mall I work at and was priced at 3.99 (I get a 10% discount though for being a mall employee, woop!) Also contains .5g more product than a MAC shadow, though I hear they are pretty fragile so you may not want to try to depot these!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Deluxe Eyeshadow - Ransom
rated 3 of 5
brandylee 8/13/2009 12:29:00 AM

I'm rewriting this review because though I initially had problems with it, it goes on effortlessly and beautiful over the Sephora "flashy mauve" eye pencil as a base! I love MUFE's #92 and everything but I guess after getting Ransom I realized how much I love purples with blue in them. I'm not going to give it 5 lippies because I had issues with this color when it's not over the flashy mauve pencil but I wanted to revamp this review since this is in the deluxe pallete and people might want suggestions on what to do with it if it currently doesn't work for them!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Teal Pigment
rated 5 of 5
brandylee 8/6/2009 9:30:00 PM

I got a sample of this from an online website, and I'm hoping it's the real thing since I am new to MAC pigments but either way, I'm in loveeeee with this! I got Copper Sparkle a few years back but returned it because I had no idea how to use it (I was trying to apply it with a sponge tip applicator and without a primer/base lol). Lately I've been buying mineral pigment samples from Pure Luxe and wow, I didn't know what I was missing! Mineral shadows don't have the cling that MAC pigments have. I am able apply to blend these without worrying about 'bald patches' occuring and though this color is alittle lighter than I had hoped, it's still pretty. So far I've only paired it with Mutiny, but I think this is one that will buy a full size of. I'm in love with the texture of this pigment and I actually did my eyemakeup rather quickly compared to when I use mineral pigments- even with the base that I find worked best (BE prime time eye) I still can't blend as well as I'd like to and I sometimes end up with bald patches and have to start over. I still love Pure Luxe's color selection and I will work with the products since I have so many and the color combinations are endless, but I will be adding some MAC piggies to my collection soon!

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Hand-Finish
rated 4 of 5
brandylee 7/12/2009 11:33:00 PM

I typically don't shop at MAC simply because I can't afford it so I'm willing to take a cut in quality so I can have lots of makeup! However, the new color craft collection caught my eye and after buying some Coastal Scents palettes for eyeshadows, I figured I'd get a few blushes from the collection since I'm on accutane right now and couldn't get any lippies from the collection due to my lips being so dry. Unfortunately, I hate being bugged by SA's so when I was in MAC I quickly swatched this and then bought it so I could leave. When I got home and put it on, I regreted it because it seemed so light. I like my makeup to stand out and though I liked the peach that was in the swatch, once I blended it out I felt that the color wasen't even really there, it just left a shimmery sheen that I felt was very similar to my Too Faced Leopard Bronzer that i splurged on a month ago. However, I tried it the next day and now I'm liking it a bit better. I need to apply a good bit to get the color I want and it's really shimmery, I love it but others may not. I swatched it next to the Too Faced bronzer and they defnitely aren't alike, I was just jumping to conclusions. This is very similar to my Pure Luxe mineral blush in Nymph (which is supposed to be a dupe of Orgasm which I don't have), but that had NO lasting power on me while this seemed to last most of the day. Lastly, I bought Wet n Wild's Naive that has good reviews but I wasen't crazy about it being matte. With this over it, it brings Naive to life! I'm happy with it but I'm not sure if I would repurchase since it was $21 and I'd rather it be too pigmented and have to apply it with a light hand vs. too sheer and have to apply alot since intense shimmer comes with over applying this particular blush. I highly suggest trying these in person, swatching them AND blending them into the skin before you buy. I loveeee this kind of shimmer for summer though I must say, I have very oily skin (though I blot constantly) but I still can't turn away from shimmer!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Brown Sugar and Fig Body Lotion
rated 4 of 5
brandylee 7/3/2009 5:00:00 PM

I've passed this up time and time again because it really didn't smell like much to me. I've been on a shopping kick lately, so I bought this at the semi annual sale since I go through lotions like crazy. To me, it's a very light fragrance. I'm not a a huge musk fan but I just think of this being not sickly sweet instead of thinking of it as musky. I think I will be able to layer things over this (hopefully) and I don't think it's an offensive fragrance, but to me there's nothing amazing about it, though the name sounds pretty inviting!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Rice Flower and Shea
rated 4 of 5
brandylee 7/3/2009 4:54:00 PM

The name doesn't exaclty sound interesting, so I don't know if they've had this before and I just never smelled it, but I found this at the bottom of the one of the bins during the semi annual sale and I like it, but I think reading the reviews of it ruined it for me! When I got it I loved it, but after people said it smelled like Playdoh, now that's all I think about when I wear it lol. It's not a bad scent, and i don't think it smells EXACTLY like playdoh but there is a resemblance. To me it actually has a salty note to it (like playdoh) and reminds me more of a 'beach in a bottle' than a scent like Seaspray that is supposed to resemble the beach! I guess the creaminess in the scent reminds me of suntan lotion a tiny bit and that mixed with the playdoh smell reminds me of sand and laying at the beach. It's not crazily strong (especially if you don't spray alot) so I'd recommend trying it if you like to have alot of things in your fragrance collection.
