Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
bloou 7/11/2010 3:01:00 AM
I am a huge fan of burt's bees lip balms so when this came out years ago I immediately purchased this as soon as I got the chance. This is amazing as well. It goes on clear despite the ruby shade that you see. It goes on smoother than the peppermint and honey, but moisturizes as well as the honey (the original is the least moisturizing, but I still LOVE it). It goes on with a lighter consistency than the honey and peppermint. This is what I carry around with me because it protects and moisturizes my lips whether they are chapped or in good condition. Scent-wise, this is my 3rd favorite only. There's nothing wrong with the scent, but I just prefer the original and the honey better. I will continue to repurchase this. I also can't wait to try the new mango butter and acai berry. I will buy them as soon as I get the chance. 07/15/10: I recently got a new tube of this because while I haven't finished my old one, the twisty thing is not working right (I couldn't twist up the product). And oh my! They changed the scent and taste of this. I don't like the scent and taste of this now. Before it tasted like a semi-sweet pomegranate. Now it's more of like an unpleasant marine or wax with a hint of pomegranate. The taste is even more awful! Like an unpleasant wax with an awful marine note in it. The texture improved, though. It is smoother and maybe less waxy (not that it's even annoyingly waxy to begin with, but as you use it, you can detect some waxiness to it as one of the ingredients is beeswax!). I still can't bring myself to knock off a lippie or two despite the negatives because they way this hydrates my lips is still awesome and the texture is wonderful. I wish Burt's Bees would bring the old scent and taste back though.

Scrubs -The Body Shop - Strawberry Body Polish
bloou 7/5/2010 4:01:00 AM
This smells delicious! If you have the strawberry lip balm from the same line, this smells close to that. Exfoliation-wise, this is great for daily use. It exfoliates well, but not too much like those once or twice a week only type of scrubs (which I like as well). The container is a travel-friendly squeeze tube that I like a lot. Overall, a very good product.

I don't own this, but I smelled this in a magazine. This perfume has sharp florals in it that gives me a terrible headache, but I think other people would like this especially if you're into heady florals. I definitely would not purchase this because of my experience.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - So In Love

I don't have this, but I like it. A college classmate of mine wore this and I asked her what it was, and she showed me this. It smells good- like a nice floral. I'm so happy that VS decided to bring this back. The thing about this that bothers me is it smells familiar, like there's a perfume similar to this that I've smelled before. It annoys me not knowing what it is!:) And scrolling down the reviews no one else has commented on what perfume it smells like.

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Brightening Eye Color
bloou 5/16/2010 12:57:00 PM
These ELF quads are amazing. You wouldn't expect how much pigment you'll get from them because of the price. Among the quads that I have, only nouveau neutrals doesn't have a "review section". Anyways, this is the least pigmented quad that I have, but the shades are buildable. The green is the most pigmented. So, no problem with that. The greenish, bluish silver is also ok (it is maybe the 2nd most pigmented). The skin color (maybe) is the least pigmented out of the four, but still a lovely lid or highlight shade (definitely have to pack on the shade on the lid, and isn't really that obvious with my skin tone maybe because it's a similar color to the skin on my lids). The 4th shade (a medium peachy brown shade) is also not very pigmented, but buildable. It's a pretty shade to use on the crease once you get it to show up. I know my review about this quad sounds a little on the negative side, but I would buy this quad again as it's very basic and a great addition to my collection because I can use it with my other shadows or use it to blend darker colors. Very useful. My other ones- butternut, drama, and another one I forgot the name- don't lack in the pigmentation department. So overall, I love these quads a lot and would continue to buy them. Btw, the best way to bring out the lovely pigmentation of these shadows is to pack them on instead of applying them with swiping motions.

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - brightening eyeshadow quad - drama
bloou 5/16/2010 12:40:00 PM
This is one of the more pigmented quads from ELF. I like this a lot. The star of this quad would probably be the darker grey shade (the one next to the white)- smooth and pigmented, but my favorite would have to be the matte white. It is so hard to find a matte white shade that is affordable. Also, it is more pigmented than you'd expect so a little goes a long way. The silver shade would have to be the least pigmented in the quad, but still pigmented enough. The black is amazing as well! It goes on pigmented and matte with a touch of sparkle. This is a great quad to have from ELF!

Eyes -E.L.F. - Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter
bloou 5/16/2010 3:02:00 AM
I like this a lot. It conceals my dark circles without looking cakey. It reminds me of the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer and Highlighter, which is the main reason why I got it. I regret not getting the Maybelline one while I was in the States. I would repurchase this product when I run out, but it's going to take me a while. It has a generous amount of concealer and highlighter on the wand. I haven't use the highlighter side yet so I can't review that one.

Powder -Maybelline - Mineral Power Powder Foundation
bloou 5/12/2010 7:18:00 AM
I like this a lot. This and L'oreal Bare Naturale are the best drugstore powder foundations for me and my skin type. They both don't aggravate the oiliness of my skin as much as other brands of mineral foundations. The difference between the two is this covers like a normal powder foundation while the L'oreal one covers like a liquid, almost. Touch ups are still needed if you have oily skin like me, but I can deal because I don't have to do it as much. Also, I don't use the brush this comes with. I used to used it and it was ok, but after I washed it, it became rough and unusable. Now, I am using The Body Shop mineral kabuki and it works great.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - IQQU - Advance Sunscreen SPF 35 UVA/UVB

I have the newer formula of this, the one that goes on less "white". Anyway, when I first got it and used this, it went on okay with minimal peeling, but when I applied pressed powder on top, the sunblock peeled off from my face. I've tried this with and w/o moisturizer and it peels. I was sad because I loved the dry, powder finish of this product for my oily skin. I can still use this, but I have to be careful of the "peeling" and I don't use powder on top (it still peels even with no powder but minimally, compared to if I put on powder, this sunblock would really peel off from my face). If it peels, I would reapply the sunblock in the area where it peeled. Doing this was time consuming and not putting powder made my face oil up more quickly. So I stopped using this. Then I saw Michelle Phan's theme park video (so I haven't used this sunblock for like 5 months?) and she used this product. So I used it again on my bare face like I did last time (if I used this on top of my moisturizer, this peels like crazy, even now), and it didn't peel! Some days it would still peel, but not like before! Now, this is my HG. I even tried using it under mineral makeup, and it did ok. I also tried doing what michelle did in the video- primer, sunblock then foundation, and it worked even better! Now, this is my HG sunblock! I really love the finish this gives. The only con like I said is you have to let this sit for like 5 months before using it. Also, if you have drier skin and need moisturizer, you need to find a good one that will be compatible with this product and not make this peel like crazy. For me personally who has oily skin, this is great because this is the only sunblock that I've used that has a matte, powder finish. And if you do the primer, iqqu sunblock, then foundation step, this works even better. I'll continue to use and maybe repurchase this until I can find something better.

Makeup Brushes -The Body Shop - Mineral Foundation Brush
bloou 5/11/2010 12:34:00 AM
I love this brush! Super soft and DENSE! The only con is the price, but I have a feeling it will last for a long time. It's synthetic so it's cruelty free, which is a great! It buffs mineral foundation well and feels so good on my face. This also comes in a smaller size for blush. I love that one as well and I feel like it is denser than this. It's sad though that there are no reviews for that one, yet. The blush kabuki gets 5 stars as well. Love these two!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express Cat Eyes Waterproof in feline black
bloou 4/22/2010 9:35:00 AM
My favorite thing about this mascara is that it holds my curl. I have lashes that stick straight down and are very hard to curl. Most mascaras I've tried from high end brands weigh my lashes down after curling them. This however holds the curl and keeps them curled for a long time. Love the packaging also- very pretty feline design on the top. I got this for about 8-9 US dollars.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Quad - Drama Eyes
bloou 4/18/2010 3:39:00 AM
I'm so happy drugstore brands are improving the quality of their shadows. The red in this quad is unbelievable! It's smooth and pigmented. The other shades are good as well, but the red shade is the star! One of the best quads from Cover Girl. Definitely a must have!

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Carrot Nutritive Body Lotion
bloou 2/27/2010 4:54:00 AM
I love this lotion! I actually love all the lotions that burt's bees has. They are all amazing with different reasons. This is more moisturizing than the aloe or the milk body lotion so it's perfect when I want more moisture than usual! I love the carrot cake scent this lotion has, very yummy! And I also love the yellow color, don't know why!:)

Toners -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Face Mist
bloou 2/26/2010 7:13:00 AM
I love this! I love the scent, the way it works and I love the spray this comes in! This gives me a fine mist and the rose scent is very soothing. This is great for setting makeup, but even better for use as a part of my skincare routine. HG material. I hope TBS never discontinues this and please no price increase. :)
