Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy Perfect 10
rated 5 of 5

This is probably the best "at home" color sold today. Although, I really like Nice N' Easy anyways. When I used this stuff, although I was impressed with the glossiness of my hair and how well the color held. The only thing is, I picked a darker shade anyway, but it came up one shade darker than I was expecting. Not really a big deal though, my color looked great.

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Certain Dri

Definitely one of my staples living in Florida. I use this year round, and rarely EVER have sweating problems. I'll always trust this stuff. Less expensive than the Secret version, and no scents to get mixed up with my morning deodorant. Only downside to it is it being a complete liquid, you have to let it dry after you apply it. But it's so worth the protection you get. You don't have to worry the next day about wearing a colored shirt in 90 degree weather.

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
rated 1 of 5
bloodvsplastic 3/23/2009 9:39:00 AM

It didn't ruin my skin or anything, but it definitely didn't do a damn thing to make my skin any better. If anything, the only thing good about this stuff was that it got me into a skin routine. I used this back in highschool and it took me probably almost 2 years before I realized HEY I still have full-fledged acne, I'm paying all this money for NOTHING.

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #3
rated 1 of 5

Not only does this stuff smell like household cleaner, but it's so drying and I have very oily skin! I hated using this crap when I was using the Liquid Facial Soap - Oily skin, and the Moisturizing Gel. The system itself is terrible too.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
rated 1 of 5
bloodvsplastic 3/23/2009 1:22:00 AM

I bought this a couple of times - the first time I was not matched right and probably looked orange for awhile. I overlooked it because I liked the coverage because it covered the acne I had. I was matched again and had a pretty good match. What I didn't realize for so long was it was this foundation that was giving me these painful cyst-like pimples all over my face. I had a great skincare routine, but this crap gave me terrible terrible skin. I mean I AM acne-prone, but I keep it relatively under control, especially after I stopped using ALL MAC foundations and powders. I barely use their eyeshadows or blush. My skin has improved a great deal since then. Another thing to mention was that my boyfriend hated it. He said it looked like I was wearing a mask. Makeup is supposed to enhance your complexion, not make it look like you're wearing a mask 24/7. I'll never go back to this crap. I basically paid $20 to have my skin ****ed up all the time.

Masks -Pro Activ - Refining Mask

I would never buy this if it didn't come with the 3 step kit. It works fairly well, but I hate the smell so much. It lingers even after you use it! I have to always take a break from it because the smell makes me sick.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
rated 4 of 5

I've been using Proactiv on and off for about 3 years. Recently, I haven't used it because of the price and I definitely notice a difference in my skin when I am using it. I used to have bad acne the very first time I used Proactiv, and it improved so much. It wasn't 100% clear, but definitely close. My face wasn't such a grease ball either after a couple of hours. It helped control my oil production, and when the system is used exactly as directed, it also helped clear and prevent pimples. I only used it at night, and in the morning I used a drug store cleanser with salicylic acid in it, but very little(<2%). Either that or I would use a LUSH cleanser in the morning with a separate moisturizer so my skin doesn't get dried out. This worked really well for me. I hear of people only using the repairing lotion on their current blemishes, that's not what you're supposed to do. You should apply it it your entire face after you've cleansed and toned with the other two steps. You can certainly spot treat with the repairing lotion, but when you use the system before bed or in the morning, you should apply the repairing lotion on your ENTIRE face. This is the only way it will prevent future blemishes. I'm giving it only 4 lippies because I do find it to be a bit harsh at first(but then you get used to it), because of the price, I cannot always afford it, and the way it smells. I hate the smell, but it does wonders for my skin. ALSO, I forgot to mention before using the cleanser, you need to remove your make up with a different cleanser that is for taking make up off, or the system won't do you any good. Proactiv recommends that you use their make up removing cloths/pads, but because of the expense, I just use a gentle drug store cleanser to remove my make up before I use the 3 steps. All of these things are really important. I feel like a lot of people may use this system wrong, and that's why they're not getting good results. You WILL need an extra moisturizer or yes, your skin will be too dry. Proactiv's green tea moisturizer is really nice, but anything will do that does well on your skin, something that you know works usually does fine.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - bare Minerals Foundation #2/#3 & Mineral Veil
rated 1 of 5

DO NOT purchase this if you actually need coverage due to acne/faded acne scars/redness. This gives you absolutely no coverage and not to mention it looks weird and not completely flawless. I probably spent $90 to get started and it was no where near that value. I paid cash, so when I returned it they had to MAIL A CHECK and it took 4-6 weeks. Bought it a Bare Essentuals for reference. That place is a joke. The drug store minerals products work 100% better for way less than 1/4 of the price.

I HATED this stuff. It was way too thick and smelled absolutely terrible. Not to mention it was greasy for a long time afterward. Thank god it was just a sample.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Sakura Bath Ballistic
rated 3 of 5
bloodvsplastic 3/18/2009 5:33:00 PM

I love all the LUSH bath bombs I tried, but this one was my least favorite. It wasn't the same. The smell was light, you would barely smell it, the moisturizing properties where not the same - it didn't really moisturize at all. The bath water didn't even turn any special color either. That's another part of using a bath bomb - knowing you're using one.

I loved this. I love all of their bath bombs. They are expensive, but I cut most of the ones that I can, in half. I loved how girly this was. The sent was really nice too.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Sultana of Soap
rated 4 of 5

I liked this soap, although I liked Figs and Leaves a lot better. I have to switch off though between LUSH and store brand because sometimes I didn't feel like I was getting clean, and I hated that. But I love the smells.

Toners -LUSH - Tea Tree Water
rated 3 of 5
bloodvsplastic 3/18/2009 5:13:00 PM

Other than the fact that it was extremely refreshing, I didn't really see the point of this toner. I would cleanse, spray, and directly after moisturize. Maybe I was doing something wrong? Like my other review of Enzymion said, while using this LUSH regimen for about 2 months or so I got huge cyst-like pimples that hurt really bad, so I definitely won't be purchasing this again. Not to mention that my bottle stopped spraying, so I cannot even enjoy the last of it.

Powders -LUSH - Silky Underwear Dusting Powder
rated 3 of 5
bloodvsplastic 3/18/2009 5:08:00 PM

I got this in a swap and I loved it, but I can still just use plain old baby powder with cornstarch(I think the packaging says like lavender/cornstarch, looks and feels like baby powder) instead and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. It was awesome to have it, I just can't justify spending that much money on something like that. That's really the only thing I have against it.

Powder -Maybelline - Mineral Power Powder Foundation
rated 5 of 5
bloodvsplastic 3/14/2009 12:21:00 AM

This is currently one of my staples. I put it over a moisturizer and a light liquid foundation. I LOVE it. It provides the best coverage, and matches FLAWLESSLY to my skin. I'm using light 2, Classic Ivory? I think. But it covers so well and you can even use it like concealer with your finger and apply it over the blemish or any unevenness. This is just a foundation you have to know how to use, and you're gold. The baby kabuki-like brush is all I use with it besides my finger for spots. It's also great for very oily skin like mine.
