Treatments -Matrix - Sleek.Look deep conditioning masque
beachkitty79 6/29/2005 12:47:00 PM
Well, I actually liked this Sleek.Look product, but it still feels like it kinda coats my hair (hence, one lippie off). I can feel it in the shower the next day. My hair does look and feel pretty good after using, so it's a pretty good product.

Styling Products -Matrix - Sleek.look Lite Smoothing Cream
beachkitty79 6/29/2005 12:45:00 PM
I really didn't like this any better than the original. I'm not a big fan of the Sleek.Look line, and I guess I should have known this would be no exception. This just makes my hair feel heavy and coated.

Treatments (Eye) -Prescriptives - Super Line Preventor Plus Eye
beachkitty79 6/29/2005 12:29:00 PM
This is a very nice eye cream. It almost has a gel-like texture, yet still creamy and moisturizing. I gave it only four lippies b/c I think the price is high considering how high up petrolatum is in the ingredients list. It does have a lot of antioxidants and other goodies to make it much better than plain, old vaseline, but I still think it's overpriced.

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
beachkitty79 6/29/2005 12:24:00 PM
This is a wonderful serum. I'm glad I saw all the good reviews on it and tried it through swaps! I did not try it to begin with because I tried the Biosilk shampoo and conditioner, and they were HORRID! This is very different though. Excellent for when you blow dry your hair. I always get a smooth, silky result.

Treatments (Eye) -Estee Lauder - Hydra Complete Moisture Eye Gel Creme
beachkitty79 6/13/2005 1:21:00 PM
I'm in total agreement with the previous reviewer. This is called a gel cream but really is more of a cream. It is very light, but it does the job well. You may need something heavier if you need a lot of hydration. This is probably best for someone in their 20s or 30s.

Conditioner -Matrix - Biolage Ultra Hydrating Conditioning Balm
beachkitty79 5/31/2005 1:19:00 PM
I am so glad I read about this stuff on the hair board! It is wonderful. It's perfect for my color-treated (highlights) hair. Very good at detangling. My hair also is very thick and tends to get dry from blow drying (I have a bit of wave that I try to straighten out and also have to blow dry b/c if I don't it will be wet all day...lol). Excellent for daily use b/c it doesn't appear to build up either. A+++++++

Sunscreen -Clarins - UV PLUS Protective Day Screen SPF 40
beachkitty79 4/20/2005 12:40:00 PM
This is a very nice product. I got a sample from the Clarins counter in Nordstrom (they have tons of ready-made samples of their products, btw! pick up a few!). I may buy the full size, but I am going to try to find something cheaper first. The price is the only negative thing I see for this though. It has a great feel, no pore-cloggers, and is broad spectrum. Don't forget to shake it really well before use. It is an all-mineral sunscreen; therefore, you won't get the protection you need if the titanium dioxide doesn't get mixed throughout the product (it has a tendency to settle to the bottom).

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear (old formula)
beachkitty79 4/11/2005 2:27:00 PM
I got a sample of this from Nordstrom, and I thought it was horrible. Has a lot of yellow and looked like a mask. This might work for someone with super oily skin. I just couldn't seem to get the hang of how to make this look natural yet flawless.

Treatments (Eye) -Origins - High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-enriched eye cream
beachkitty79 3/31/2005 9:58:00 AM
This is a very thick and rich eye cream. It is very hydrating. It's almost like butter. You almost have to warm it up a little before applying it. It would actually work a lot better if it was in a tube instead of a jar--that's my only complaint.

Moisturizers -Prescriptives - Insulation Moisturizer
beachkitty79 3/30/2005 12:41:00 PM
Interesting smell. Don't go for this if you want moisturization though. That's what I wanted and ended up taking it back; I was fooled by the fact that it was a cream. The lady at the Px counter explained that it is really just for a big shot of vitamins for your skin (w/ sun protection of course). However, they are discontinuing this product, but what's left should be available for a while.

I hated this stuff. It was really watery and difficult to work with. Don't waste your money.

Scrubs -L'Oreal - Exfotonic
beachkitty79 3/29/2005 9:50:00 AM
This is a fabulous scrub. I first bought it a few years ago when it first came out and decided to buy it again recently since I decided I need to be buying scrubs that are cheaper than TBS or Origins scrubs. It also isn't an oily scrub at all like TBS or Origins scrubs. It is a little more pricy for a drugstore brand. It's $11.99 at Eckerd. I can't find this scrub at Target or Wal-Mart anymore. I think when I first purchased it, I purchased it at Target. I hope they aren't going to discontinue it. I use this on my legs daily so I can get a smooth shave. It makes my legs silky smooth and smells great too (very fresh and kinda citrusy).

Shampoo -Aquage - Hydrating Shampoo
beachkitty79 3/28/2005 1:46:00 PM
This is a great shampoo! As with all Aquage products, the smell is fabulous! My hair is very soft after using this shampoo. I've been using it with the Healing Conditioner. It turns into a rich lather. Packaging is nice and pretty with a pump bottle. It does contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, but it's almost at the very end of the ingredients list, so it shouldn't be a problem (hasn't been for me). The main cleansing agent is Sodium Laureth Sulfate at the beginning.

Styling Products -L'Oreal - Smooth Intense Anti-Frizz Serum
beachkitty79 3/28/2005 11:47:00 AM
This is awesome stuff! I swear it is almost identical to Oleo-Relax (they are made by the same company, but Kerastase is the high-end ($$$) version). I have tried so many serums looking for the perfect one, and this super cheap deal is the best! Found my HG!
