Eye Makeup Remover -Estee Lauder - Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
babykitten9 4/13/2012 5:29:00 PM
I have to say that I normally don't use eye makeup removers. I prefer to wash my eye make-up off while I am washing my face. But I do use them every now and then anyway so they last me a very long time :) I have been using this one for the past 4 months and it's now half emtpy/half full :) It's a very good eye makeup remover. Doesn't sting my eyes and removes all eye make-up easily (I don't use any waterproof products). I got this one for free as it was in one of the EL make-up gift cases I got for christmas, so I can't really comment on its price.

Cleansers -Christian Dior - Dior Instant Cleasing Water 200ml
babykitten9 4/6/2012 5:31:00 PM
It's a good micellair water and it does what it's supposed to - it removes make-up. It's not in any way better than any of the micellair cleansers I have tried so far (Vichy, Shiseido, RoC, La Roche Posay, Yves Rocher, Eucerin, Avene etc etc I have tried a lot and I use them daily) but the price for the Dior water is steep. I have another HE micellair water from Lancome and it's great but I purchased it at a 50% discount for a 400 ml bottle. If I see Dior on sale I'll get it but otherwise I'll just be using other cheaper versions which I think are actually better than Dior (price-quality-wise). Mind you, I only use micellair water to remove make-up then I do follow with my Clarisonic and my HG clinique liquid mild facial soap. It helps me keep my skin clean, clear and blemish-free :)

Eye Shadow -Guerlain - Rue de passy 93
babykitten9 3/12/2012 4:45:00 PM
It was one of my Christmas gifts (self-selected, mind you). I loved my other Guerlain palette (Vendome) so much that I really had to get more but the price was stopping me. It's a great neutral leaning cool palette. I think it will be really fantastic for girls with green eyes (it goes from light beige to taupe and then to dark burgundy). Mine are grey but I think this palette will suit anybody. What I do like about these palettes is that there are no particularly glittery shadows in them (this one has an iridescent pale pink eyeshadow in the middle though, which I rarely use). These are perfect for a daily office look but you can easily go from a light subtle look to a heavier evening one and you won't need any other palette to complete the look. I particularly like the lightest matte beige color for blending out the darker colors but it's also great to even out your eyelid color (I am very fair!). The only eyeshadow that I don't like is the eyeliner darker shade because of the fall-out. I never have that with my Vendome palette. But yet it's another fantastic palette from Guerlain and I love it to bits! And I do love the fact that these palettes will be all I need when I have to travel and only take the minimum.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm sphere -medicated tangerine
babykitten9 3/12/2012 4:20:00 PM
I have been dying to try these balms. They just look so cute :) I got this in a Dutch sample box service (glossybox), so no complaints about the price. It smell delicious and it is moisturizing enough. Yes, I have to re-apply but I have yet to find a lipbalm that I don't have to re-apply. So this is perfect, does what it is supposed to and, yes, very cute :)

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 208 Small Angled Brow
babykitten9 3/12/2012 4:04:00 PM
I actually use as a liner brush. I can't use these tiny thin brushes for that because I just can't get it right with them (my eyeliner goes all over the place and the line looks horrible!). I guess I will never be able to master the brushes that are meant for that purpose. This one is perfect, thin and precise enough (and not scratchy at all unlike a lot of regular brow brushes). I can finally draw a nice even straight line! I have even mastered *the flick* :) I definitely recommend it to everybody who has similar (annoying!) problems :) Even though I purchased it from a duty-free MAC store the price is disappointing to say the least but I would definitely buy it again.

Lipstick -Clinique - Chubby Stick - Super Strawberry
babykitten9 3/12/2012 3:50:00 PM
This is anything but moisturizing. In fact it dries out my lips unless I apply a lipbalm underneath. For the rest it's a sheer lipstick in a cute container that looks like a chubby pencil. Won't be re-purchasing. There are better sheer moisturizing lipsticks out there that don't require any additional product to add hydration to your lips.

Blush -Christian Dior - Rosy Glow Awakening Blush
babykitten9 3/3/2012 1:38:00 PM
A very interesting product. Definitely not a regular blush. You should really test-drive it first before you buy it and be really careful with how much you apply. For me one swipe is more than enough. At first it looks like I don't have anything on and that's exactly the moment when you can end up applying way too much. I made this mistake once and it looked way too pink and obvious on me. The color starts to show up 5-10 minutes later on me and it's a staying one. It's still on my face in the evening despite my oily skin and fact that products don't hold up well on me for that reason. It looks quite scary in the box but on the face it's just a fresh flush of color. Lovely. Don't particularly like the case though. Mine is hard to open. The brush is great though. I am happy I bought it and I think it will be especially pretty for spring looks (and not only them) :)

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Les 4 Ombres - 33 Prelude
babykitten9 3/3/2012 1:27:00 PM
I should have really learned my lesson a long time ago already - Chanel eyeshadows crease on me, especially the darker colors! Well, I couldn't resist this palette. It's a really pretty neutral, leaning cool, palette and it's so easy to create a perfect neutral elegant "office" look with it. I think eyeshadows from this palette are easier to apply than the ones from their other palettes, yet there is quite a bit of a fall-out from them! So, conclusion is that I do like it a lot and use it often but I will do my best to stay away from Chanel next time (unless they come out with another fabulous product :))) ).

Cleansers -Vichy - Purete Thermale Cleansing Micellar Lotion for face and eyes
babykitten9 2/24/2012 8:26:00 PM
A very good micellar water. I got it in a big bottle with a pump which I much prefer to the regular ones in a smaller bottle without it. But even without a pump it's good :) Pretty much like any other micellar water I have tried so far. I would re-purchase.

Cleansers -Lancome - Eau Micellaire Douceur - Express Cleansing Water for Face, Eyes, Lips
babykitten9 2/24/2012 8:18:00 PM
I purchased it at 50% of its original price so no complaints about the price. The bottle is big and it has a pump, which I love. I might use it for my Yves Rocher micellar water when the Lancome one is finished. It does what it's supposed to. Meaning that it removes make-up :) Nothing less, nothing more. Micellar water removers do just that and this one is just one of them for me. I like it and would re-purchase if it's on sales again. Otherwise I rather go for my other favorite - Vichy micellar water.

Cleansers -Yves Rocher - Micellar Cleansing Water
babykitten9 2/24/2012 8:10:00 PM
It's a decent micellar water. Not worse and not better than any other. Removes my make-up just like any other micellar water I have tried so far. It comes in a rather small bottle so I am not sure if the price is justified. I would re-purchase it but I prefer bigger bottles with a pump.

Fragrances -Hugo Boss - Boss Orange by Hugo Boss
babykitten9 2/24/2012 8:04:00 PM
My mother-in-law likes it and it's already supposed to be a big no-no. But I happen to like it as well ;) I actually purchased it because of the initial fresh notes which transform into a comforting sweet note with some traces of the initial fresh notes in a while. This is just a perfect daily perfume for work! It's my current number one favorite and after purchasing a 30 ml bottle I have purchased a 75 ml during sales at the same price I purchased my 30 ml one. No complaints about its staying power. I could still smell it on myself in the evening during the first couple of days (if I use a certain perfume daily I just can't can't smell it on myself after a while, which doesn't mean that others can't smell it, especially if you re-apply it generously). Definitely try it!

Treatments (Eye) -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Eye Recovery Complex
babykitten9 2/24/2012 7:31:00 PM
I had a couple of samples of this complex for the eyes and I liked it so I decided to purchase it. I found a good deal on ebay so I went for it. Oh, how disappointed I am now! It feels great when you apply it - so silky, so smooth, so moisturizing (or at least it feels like it thanks to silicones). And it makes my undereye area oh, so flakey and dry in the morning! But I am stubborn so I thought I had to use it longer to see the results. My undereye area has become even drier and even more flakey. It stings my skin as well (and I have always thought that my skin was not sensitive). I am not sure what I am going to do with this product. Probably just use it up on my neck (that's what I do with most products that were not to my face's liking). I still have the same odd question - why do they still produce creams-gels-etc in jars??? WHY? Not going to re-purchase! I really like their advanced night repair serum for the face but this eye complex is horrible!

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
babykitten9 2/24/2012 7:14:00 PM
I got it for Christmas and have been using it daily. It's great! I didn't have any initial breakout a lot of people experienced. Probably because I normally exfoliate my skin on a regular basis and use BP to prevent breakouts. I use it once a day in PM and I am honestly quite amazed at how much make-up is still left on my skin after my very first make-up removal step (I use micellar water to remove make-up before I wash my face). It doesn't help much with my occasionally flakey skin (BP and the cold windy weather have been the cause lately despite all the moiturizers etc I have tried) but my skin feels amazingly smooth. I can't tell if it prevents blemishes because my BP does that already but my skin looks quite a bit more clear and I use much less make-up now. I don't think you really need the pro-clarisonic version. Mia has it all! I love it and would absolutely purchase it!

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
babykitten9 1/21/2012 5:44:00 PM
Let me first start by saying that I am 35, have oily skin and am very prone to breakouts, clogged pores etc. I have been using acne.org BP daily for the past year (at least) and it makes a huge difference to the way my skin looks. But it does dry my oily skin out even if I use it once a day (and I only use it once a day, my skin can't tolerate a more frequent use). I need a moisturizer that will provide a great deal of hydration without clogging my pores. That's a tough mission. My HG moisturizer is Clinique moisture surge extended thirst relief. It contains silicones, that normally clog my pores like there is no tomorrow. But this moisturizer is not the case, though it has enough silicones to it! It provides enough moisture and doesn't cause me any breakouts. I have to use it twice a day to avoid nasty dry patches on my skin. Sometimes I apply a thick layer of it in the evening and pat it off with a tissue if my skin is extra dry. I can't live without it as it's the only moisturizer that doesn't leave me with a clogged blemished face. I only purchase it off ebay because that's the only place where I can get it in tube (30 ml), therefore I am not taking off lippies for the packaging. I hate the regular Clinique jars and hope that they are going to change that!
