Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Lipstick
babyjane14 5/19/2013 8:43:00 PM
I have this in the shade 'Cutting Edge', which is a deep berry-plum shade, perfect for that vampy look in Winter. Rimmel's range of lasting finish lipsticks all smell like chai latte to me which is awesome too! Highly recommend these as they're affordable and have great pigmentation & lasting power.

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Rexona Clinical Protection
babyjane14 5/19/2013 8:40:00 PM
I have this in the Purple scent from their Fragrance collection which is my fave one I've tried so far. It is a creamy paste that you wind up out of the container and then apply to your underarms. I use this before bed & sometimes still if I've forgotten in the mornings before I head out. I've used Driclor in the past which you can get from pharmacies and that product is a roll-on that completely 100% if applied before bed will stop all sweating. So comparing the two Rexona's anti-perspirant works about 70% to stop sweat coming through I would say, myself being a heavy sweater. I use this daily as Driclor is very harsh on my skin and can be a bit unconformable most of the time, so I only use that when necessary. Overall I do think this product does actually stop perspiration to some extent and I would def recommend this to others.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Mariah Carey - 'M'
babyjane14 5/19/2013 8:30:00 PM
I've had this multiple times and it is a very nice scent, but its not my personal favourite. It smells VERY Floral and it doesn't dry down any different. Whereas I prefer more vanilla, fruity and floral scents all mixed together. This has awesome sillage and lasting power, I know this because I would always receive compliments when wearing it. Sometimes it would even be too strong for me even to handle and I would get migraines. The bottle is also gorgeous, purple with a butterfly lid. All in all, a very nice feminine floral scent. It's also very affordable and there's usually some good discounts on it.

Mascara -Australis - Mega Lash Mascara
babyjane14 5/19/2013 8:25:00 PM
I had heard good things about Australis mascaras so I decided to try one out. I decided to go with the Mega Lash but unfortunately this didn't make a good first impression. The brush is your standard bristle brush, no unique shape. I got it in 'Black' which isn't waterproof but compared to other non-waterproof mascaras I've tried this smudges like crazy on me! When I apply this I need to make sure I don't blink too much even just applying a little because it takes a while to fully dry! I think that's why it smudges onto my lower lash line even when I apply it just to the top lashes. It gives a natural effect to my lashes, adding length more than anything. I prefer waterproof mascaras as my lashes don't hold curl well and this does nothing in terms of hold for me. It claims to be fragrance-free which is true. I don't get a strong scent when I open/apply this mascara, so it would be good for sensitive eyes. Overall, I didn't like this mascara at all. Will not repurchase/recommend.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract Lotion
babyjane14 5/19/2013 8:21:00 PM
I decided to stray from my usual body lotion and try this out. I absolutely love the scent of this. Floral and fruity I would describe it and it definitely made it enjoyable to use. It absorbs into the skin quite quickly which is good if you need to get dressed immediately but I found myself having to use more product and therefore was more time consuming. I also found I didn't feel moisturized after a few hours of application. I have now finished up the whole bottle and will not be repurchasing because of this. I found this lotion not as moisturizing as Vaseline's Cocoa Butter body lotion, which I apply and I still feel moisturized the next day personally. It is a bit heavier so it needs to be absorbed for longer before dressing but I prefer it. Overall, a good moisturizer, loved the scent, but not for me.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
babyjane14 5/19/2013 8:20:00 PM
I initially purchased this to use as a facial scrub and thought my skin could handle an abrasive scrub but in the end found it too harsh and it made my break outs flare up. I just started using it in the shower as a body scrub and am LOVING it! I use it mainly on my legs as I noticed they weren't as soft and I also cross my legs constantly so I have a little rough patch with a few ingrown's. With a few uses its already improved! Happy I worked out a way to use this as it was just sitting around taking up space.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
babyjane14 5/19/2013 8:17:00 PM
Just thought I would add a review for this as my mum uses it and loves it. She has a light-medium olive skin tone and the shade 'Medium' is perfect for her and prefers light-medium coverage. This has the most subtle effect on the skin, the way I would describe it is a 'blurring effect' whilst looking very natural, which is exactly what she likes. For example, I used the Garnier Oil Free BB Cream on her and she felt that was too much coverage. My mum has oily skin and still gets break outs here and there but hasn't broken at all from this. Personally I would not be able to use the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream as I prefer medium-full coverage because of my hyper pigmentation and acne marks. But for someone who doesn't like the look of makeup but wants to slightly even out their skin this would be perfect!

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle
babyjane14 1/28/2013 11:39:00 PM
Soft and Gentle is beautiful champagne-silver powder highlighter that I think would suit most skin tones as it isn't overly white-silver it has a bit of warmth to it. There are definitely noticeable glitter particles throughout this highlighter, which I don't mind, its just a very exaggerated highlight that looks amazing in flash photography. I still do use it during the day though just making sure I tap off the excess & use a small amount! It looks beautiful applied on your cheek bones, tear ducts or across the lid, I found its a bit too glittery on the cupids bow or down the nose for me personally but I've seen many people use it that way. MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish lasts well, I've found I can get about 7 hours of wear until I don't see it on the skin anymore. When I use this in my eye area it doesn't disappear at all which is great. Overall, for use on such small areas on the face and being a ridiculous $48 here in Australia, it is a beautiful product and worth the money because you do get a lot of product! Highly recommend

Styling Products -Toni & Guy - Casual - Sea Salt Texturising Spray
babyjane14 1/17/2013 11:34:00 PM
I'm really enjoying this product on days where I want my hair to have that "effortless" look. I follow the directions on the bottle to spray this on dry hair, I curl my hair loosely and spray this through the mid lengths and scrunch. It gives your hair that messy look that I love, adding texture and defines your curls. I tried this without hairspray and it didn't hold the style on its own so now I do a light spray afterwards, but my hair is very stubborn with holding styles only an extreme hold hairspray will work. It costs $15.99 here in Australia, and you don't need to use much to have the full effect. I love the packaging, its housed in a cool-toned 'greeny-blue' pump bottle that distributes the product well I find. It doesn't have a very concentrated spray but more of a mist. Also, It smells amazing! I would describe it as a fresh scent, not too floral and definitely not fruity/sickly sweet. Love this product, looking forward to trying out more products from Toni & Guy!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
babyjane14 1/17/2013 10:58:00 PM
I am reviewing the new formula of Double Wear that Estee Lauder released in 2012. Estee Lauder recently vamped up their formula and also came out with new shades that have more of a warm-yellow undertone. I was matched to the shades, 2W2 Rattan & 3W2 Cashew mixed together, which suits my NC35-37 coloring but I didn't want to purchase both so I decided to get the lighter shade Rattan and just use a bronzer if needed. Cashew I believe would be perfect for someone who is NC40. I have very oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin and this is definitely a matte, long wearing foundation that can withstand humidity/heat better than any foundation I've tried. It keeps my t-zone matte reasonably, I only have to blot and powder by lunchtime on a working day and it doesn't aggravate my skin or cause breakouts. Also, It lasts beautifully, I've gone through a whole work day and had a 'cat nap' with this on after dinner (too many times!) and I wake up to still a relatively matte, concealed complexion, its amazing for its lasting power! I apply this with my fingers to warm up the product so its easier to spread but I'm planning on buying a Beauty Blender as I've heard that's the best method for applying Double Wear. If I needed to pick at something, it would be the application; Its not very "spreadable" and you have to buff it in fast, but as long as you get the hand of it, it looks flawless. This does dry down a bit 'stiff' feeling. I can't explain it but you can feel it on your skin and it is not moisturising whatsoever. It feels very noticeable for me personally when I have it on whereas Revlon's Colorstay (which its compared to) does feel lighter on the skin. I was quite surprised when I used this for the first time, after reading so much reviews and watching people on YouTube applying this endless amounts of time, I expected it to be full coverage but it isn't. This new formula has a medium-buildable coverage and I needed to go over certain areas with more foundation or concealer. Double Wear does have SPF and it unfortunately does flash back for me. Its nothing too drastic and I still wear it out for its lasting power, but it's not the best for flash photography. The packaging is classy with the Gold lid and frosted glass but no pump which I'm not impressed with for a high-end foundation. Overall, I'm happy that I picked this up as its fast become a favourite foundation for extreme heat and for nights out. Highly recommend you try this out!

Polishes -OPI - Over The Taupe
babyjane14 1/14/2013 8:41:00 PM
A favorite of mine during winter. It's creamy & opaque with one coat but I apply two for lasting power. Its a brown taupe shade with a purple tinge to it. Very suitable for the colder seasons. Love!

Polishes -OPI - My Chihuahua Bites
babyjane14 1/14/2013 12:51:00 AM
This has fast become my HG Nail Polish! I picked this up 2 months ago and I haven't switched back to my previous fave OPI Big Apple Red for my toes my toe nail polish since. It is a coral-orange, leaning towards pink in natural daylight but can look orangey indoors (yellow lighting). It has a creamy finish, opaque but streaky with one coat so I apply two. AND IT LASTS LONGER THAN ANY OTHER NAIL POLISH I'VE TRIED! It doesn't chip off at all only when my nails grow and there's that bare nail exposed is when I repaint my nails! I went away and I was at the beach heaps in the water and through showers everything there's not one sign of wear. I don't use a base or top coat and this has really impressed me. Highly recommend and now a staple in my collection.

Bronzers -Maybelline - Dream Terra Sun Bronzing Powder
babyjane14 1/14/2013 12:33:00 AM
I have been enjoying this bronzer so far, it's actually the first one I've ever liked. I have 2 other bronzers at home that I don't use because they fade horribly & oxidize to a reddish muddy color. This one definitely doesn't do that so I'm very happy with it. I picked this up in the shade '03 Bronze' and it is a couple shades darker than my skin tone (NC35). I have a medium skin tone and I find the shade to look natural, keeping in mind I don't usually have problems with bronzers being too orangey on me. It isn't super pigmented but it definitely gives color that you can build upon. It does have shimmer throughout the product but it hardly shows up when applied. I make sure to buff it into my skin. If you're sensitive to smells and are not a fan of Talc then I wouldn't recommend this though, its very strong & even gets to me at times, but for the affordable price and the bronzer itself I would highly recommend you try it!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Bold Gold / eternal gold
babyjane14 11/28/2012 7:08:00 PM
Decided to pick this shade up and again its another color tattoo I love. Compared to the shade 'Bad To The Bronze' this is definitely not as pigmented and the shimmer is very noticeable as its very chunky. I am not a huge fan of big chunks of glitter but the gold colour of this is beautiful. I apply a gold eyeshadow on top of this to further accentuate it and ensure longevity. Still love the formula of these though! So easy to swipe across my lids everyday and pretty long-lasting without primer and with my Urban Decay primer potion it lasts up until I take it off. Price here in Australia is affordable too which is great to see. As always very impressed :)

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - BYS - Neon Eyeliner Pencil
babyjane14 11/12/2012 11:18:00 PM
I needed a hot pink lip pencil so I picked this up in the shade 'Neon Purple', not realizing that this was actually an eyeliner pencil. It is actually a magenta shade that leans towards pink. I used it and I was pretty impressed! It is very pigmented, didn't drag on my lips and ensured that my lipstick didn't feather the whole night. I did use a pretty long-lasting lippie on top of this so I cant say how long this would last when used on its own. Does the job!
