Palettes -Urban Decay - Book of Shadows Vol. II [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

I love this palette. This is the first actual makeup item I got from Urban Decay other than the primer potion. It has great quality eyeshadows, and most of it is shimmer which I love. It's perfect for everyday or for going out. The only one I may have a problem is the super glittery one called midnight cowboy rides again. I have to use the shade before foundation so I don't end up with glitter all over my face. I love it and it's got me swapping some of my other single shadows away because it's very convenient and cost effective per shadow in this economy. About half the palette is neutral shades which is great because I can use it for work 5 days a weeks and the rest for weekends or special events. Packaging could be more travel friendly so I can take it everywhere with me instead of a bulky cardboard palette I leave at home.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
rated 4 of 5
atsugari 1/14/2010 1:35:00 PM

I really like this foundation. I matches my skin perfectly I'm normally NC20 in the winter and the shade deauville matches perfectly. The coverage is med-full which is what I like. If I want more sheer I'll used a damp sponge to apply. I haven't had any problems with getting greasier or shiny through the day. Probably because I always use the Shiseido spf 55 lotion on my T-zone as a mattifying primer. It wears very well without being cakey. However if u wear more than 9 hours I notices it pools a little but nothing a little blotting and blending won't take care of. Overall I like it a lot and it's becoming one of my HGs. Packaging could be better with a pump. Otherwise I like the glass bottle. Updated 6/26/10: The shade Deauville is too light for me in the summer and as the weather gets warmer I notice that it melts a little or gets cakey. I'm oily and my sister is dry and we both wear the same foundation and I notice the same effect on both of us that it gets cakey Update 4/18/2010: I found out if I only use a little bit of it instead of a lot it takes away the cakeyness and looks less mask-like and more natural looking. Using fingers to apply is a must for natural finish, using a brush makes it mask-like

Eyes -MAC - Greasepaint Stick
rated 5 of 5
atsugari 10/8/2009 12:22:00 AM

Great product for oily eye people. I tried this on my waterline for 14 hours straight and at night it's still on my waterline looking fresh as I applied it. Works better than Fluidline in my opinion, fluidline doesn't stay nearly as long. In fact it probably would've stayed there forever until I wash it off. It didn't bleed into under my eyes for raccoon eyes like the technakohl and the feline kohl. Love the black with the purple sparkles gives it something special instead of just a plain black liner. Great as and eyeshadow base to make colors pop. Would repurchase again.

Eyeliner -MAC - Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline

This product is a fail for me, I tried it in store and within 10 minutes it starts migrating to under my eyes and giving me raccoon eyes. The next hour or so I had to keep wiping the smudges under my eyes I even tried setting it with shadow but it migrates a little less but it still migrates. I thought from the reviews that it would work on oily lids but it doesn't for mine. I would not buy.

Masks -DDF - Sulfur Therapeutic Mask [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
atsugari 9/29/2009 10:53:00 AM

This stuff is great. I had some leftover stubborn acne scars and clogged pores on my nose that my 5% Benzoyl Peroxide gel will not take care of. I left it on those places for about an hour. Depending on your sensitivity the time you leave it on may vary since I'm not sensitive I can leave it on for longer. I tried it for about 2 weeks 2x a week. My stubborn acne scars have faded significantly that I can wear sheer coverage foundation w/o concealer and the clogged pores on my nose has surfaced so all I have to do is push a bit and it comes out. For the price it's worth it since it comes in a big tub that will probably last a long time. The packaging I would prefer a squeeze tube. The smell isn't the greatest thing in the world but I prefer that to highly perfumed masks also it's ok since I use it at night and it washes off without any lingering smell. Overall this is a wonderful product if your current treatments are not helping anymore. Of course the effectiveness depends on people and if they are sensitive to sulfur on their face.

Eye Makeup Remover -Sonia Kashuk - Remove
rated 5 of 5
atsugari 9/21/2009 2:20:00 AM

I love this product, no more burning eyes and does a wonderful job at removing all types of makeup including waterproof. I love the look of dual phase and I love all things purple. It's gentle and effective, no smell. My only gripes is it's kinda pricey for a drugstore remover I would've preferred one that was less than $10. I also agree with the reviewer below they could have added a cap to make the product easier to dispense other than a big gaping hole.

Moisturizers -Biore - SkinPreservation Dual Fusion Moisturizer+SPF 30 ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
atsugari 9/21/2009 2:16:00 AM

I was looking for something with a higher spf and won't break out my acne prone skin for the daytime. I felt my Dior moisturizer with spf 20 wasn't enough for the scorching heat this summer. Glad I tried this product. Like the Dior this was a gel product which I love the feeling of on my oily skin. It didn't break me out, I didn't have trouble getting the product to dispense out evenly. If you tap it a couple times on the counter there's no problem. It's a relative cheap product compared to department store brands I got it with a coupon and inside the box I got another coupon in case I want to repurchase it's a great deal. Only drawback is that if I rub this in too long little white things roll off my skin which I have to brush off. Otherwise this is an excellent product.

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Refined [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

I found this little gem in my CCO. At first I didn't care much for msfs because I found them too glittery. This one gives me a subtle healthy glow and I'm in love. This give me a peachy glow on my cheeks I use it everyday. It blows all my ds highlighters away.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Warm Soul
rated 5 of 5
atsugari 9/18/2009 1:44:00 PM

My to go work blush and it's the blush I wear during blah days. Looks nice nude look when I'm not feeling like being too made up. Puts some life into my face. It's also the blush I use when I have intense eye or lip looks. I would repurchase.

Highlighters -E.L.F. - Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder - Luminance
rated 3 of 5
atsugari 9/18/2009 1:18:00 PM

I tried it as an eyeshadow and as a highlighter. As a shadow I felt that it applied a bit chalky and doesn't blend well. As a highlighter it's ok I would prefer my Wet n Wild Acapulco glow more because it's more golden and looks more natural. Would not repurchase. Very powdery and fragile packaging, don't wear dark clothes when u use this.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush Duo - Earth to Earth (Grand Duos Coll.)
rated 5 of 5
atsugari 9/18/2009 1:14:00 PM

I was intrigued with EtE or Light over dark. LoD was more bronzey shimmery tones. In the end EtE won because it's bronzey but with a pink undertone which i love. I've never seen a blush with this color before bronzey with pink. It's a beautiful nude/natural blush with a glow. Light applied it gives me a neutral look with a bit of glow, apply another layer then it gives me the summer glowy cheeks look. I like it a lot and it's probably the only grand duo blush I like out of the collection. There's so much product that I don't think I'll ever finish it.

Mascara -NYX - Doll Eye - Water Proof - Extreme Black
rated 5 of 5
atsugari 9/18/2009 1:06:00 PM

I love this mascara more than the Volume, I think it's because it's wetter formula. It take a few more seconds to dry but the advantage is it doesn't clump for me because of it's wetness. I did not experience any flaking, clumping, fading or smudging. It holds a curl better than the volume, I actually find the volume version more prone to clumping. My HG I would definitely repurchase. Packaging is good, like most ds mascaras the product comes out too much on the tip, like the other reviewers say. It's easily taken care of by wiping in the side of the tube and it's good to go.

Highlighters -Christian Dior - Skinflash
rated 4 of 5
atsugari 9/16/2009 8:45:00 PM

I got this which came free with my moisturizer from Sephora last year. I can't comment much about it since I have dark circle only when I'm tired and lack sleep which is rare. On the days I do use it, it works well to cover my dark circles and is smooth and creamy and doesn't settle into the cakey look. It lasted all day on me. On my spots and blemishes it doesn't work well at all, I feel this is strictly a eye concealer. I didn't buy it at full price but it's pretty expensive for what u get. It doesn't seem like very much product for the price. Packaging, this is the main point where I wouldn't repurchase, it's unsanitary, the brush is difficult to clean and everytime I want to use it I have to click about 7-10 times before the product rushes out and apply too much in the spot I want. They could've designed it better for the product to come out more easily.

Mascara -Givenchy - Phenomen'Eyes Effet Extension
rated 4 of 5
atsugari 9/16/2009 8:36:00 PM

I agree with the reviewer below, I've also tried NYX Doll eyes before, except this givenchy formula seems to be more matte where NYX is a bit glossy. Both products give falsie looking long lashes and very black, it hasn't smudged on my eyes even after I went to the gym. It also holds a curl pretty well. The only issue I find is that it tends to clump if u put more than 2 coats on which is similar to the NYX nothing a lash comb wouldn't solve. I'd agree that it gives the same long lash effect as it's cheaper alternative. It works well I'd buy if I wanted to show off my mascara. But I'm satisified with my NYX which gave me the same effect but lower cost. Packaging I don't know what to say I haven't gotten use to using the mace like applicator near my eyes but I don't feel like it makes a difference whether I use the mace or a mascara wand.

Eyeliner -Shu Uemura - ME Black 01 Drawing Pencil
rated 2 of 5
atsugari 7/31/2009 8:22:00 PM

It's officially $19 for this pencil. It use to be $18, I wouldn't even play that much for this. It's suppose to be smudge-, sweat- and waterproof. This lasted on my for about 2-3 hours. It smudged on my eyes that I had to keep cleaning up. More difficult to apply than UD 24/7s I have to tug at my lid a bit, which is bad and will cause wrinkles. Most of all it costs more for a product that based on reviews it's 'suppose' to work better. I prefer my UD 24/7 over this at least they stay longer and last more than 5 hrs.
